The ysoki gangster rap cuts out as a string of Vercite profanity strong enough to make a dwarf blush before grinning with pride erupts from Engineering.

As we are nearing the end of the PbP game day, we should all roll for boons. Do you want me to roll for everone in the discussion thread? Or if you want you can roll yourself. You can roll 1d20. A 19 or a 20 is a success.

Chunks of hill from the river rat fly everywhere again.
A few seconds later you get hailed by the river rat. A different Ysoki is in the captain seat, a few spots of blood in her fur.
"We as the crew made a unanimous decision that we want a change of command. As the new captain I would like to apologise for the actions of my predecessor. We're going to leave this sector now. Please do not pursue."
I assume you dont
With the river rat out of the sector, you get a message from Ezra Silverbrew, the Society’s liaison with the Silverbrew clan.
“Nice flying, Starfinders. That ought to teach those skulking thieves to keep away from what isn’t theirs! Now then, as promised, we’ll send you the one chunk of the tablet they didn’t get their grubby hands on. And after you get that, we get to sweep the station for any other ‘surprises’ they might have left behind.”
Turning the Pegasus in to Absalom station for repairs, VC Arvin is happy to see you return in one piece.
"Ah, Starfinders. Good to see you again. As the Silverbrew will send us the second piece of the tablet once they have procured it, we can focus ourselves on the third piece. The third dreamspun tale is as follows."
“One world, two sides apart
Freedom locked ‘neath neon lights
Bad chameleon”
"From this, I believe that the “one world, two sides apart” tells us to inspect the Pact World of Verces. The second portion of this dreamspun tale, plus the information gathered from the previous clues, points us to the verthani club owner, Karelite Bogdin. He owns a nightclub called Kozmos in the city-state of Vanos. I believe we’ll find the tablet hidden among his famed art collection in the personal safe in his office."
Damorisovitch
|
"Venture Captain Arvin, vas do ve need to know about zees Bogdin comrade?" asks Damorisovitch. "Vat hold do ve haf over heem, so zat ve can get ze tablit from heem?"
"Or," starts the vesk, "Are ve to go in guns blazing?"
| GM Woran |
"There is information that Bogdin is involved in slave trade. Android trafficking to be precise. The Ysoki you had a tangle with before, stole two of the tablets from the dwarves of the Silverbrew clan, then sold them on to Bogdin. One part you already retrieved from the android Lerecti. So, if we play our cards right, go in with some subterfuge, we could get the second piece from Bogdin, and gather evidence which could get Bogdin locked up for good."
Saffron Alva
|
"Why didn't you mention this in the first place? Android slavery? Alright. Let's do this."
Damorisovitch
|
"Unwilling servitude is not honorable. Damorisovitch agree vith Saffron Alva. Ve must free zees android slaves, and punish zis Bogdin." declares the big vesk. "Do ve need to take zis Bogdin in alive?"
| GM Woran |
What you gathered/recalled:
Verces is a tidally-locked planet, with one side permanently facing the Pact Worlds’ single sun. The largest civilization is a sprawling metropolis spanning the circumference of the planet called the Ring of Nations, a temperate refuge lying between the scorching heat of Fullbright and numbing cold of Darkside.
The most technologically advanced of the native species are the Verthani, eight-foot tall humanoids whose chameleon-like skin that allows them to blend their pigments to hide in plain sight.
The mega-metropolis that spans the planet is known for its elevated level of technological advancement. Because of this, most Verthani use various cybernetic instruments to some degree to augment their senses and defenses.
Different nation-cities within the Ring of Nations operate with varying degrees of self-governance, with some being known for their rather lax rules on bodily autonomy. The city-state of Vanos is known as they place to do business if you’re looking to avoid scrutiny from the authorities. Casinos, clubs, and open black markets where the rich can buy and sell sentient androids abound. Laws, which are few and far between, are rarely enforced where they do exist.
| GM Woran |
It takes several days to travel to Verces by shuttle. VC Arvin has gotten you all entry tickets to the club.
The city-state of Vanos lies in a perpetual twilight, and the appeal of the city lies mostly in the traditionally nocturnal activities found there. The club is a short distance from the port, down a busy boulevard. Neon lights flash above various storefronts, advertising everything from virtual reality shows to high-end pet shops selling imported animals of dubious legality.
All around, people of various species, dressed in expensive clothing, laugh as they make their way beneath the pulsing lights. Many are accompanied by androids dressed in similar black uniforms, all with red collars around their necks.
When you arrive at Kozmos, a line stretches around the block, filled with eager concert-goers awaiting admittance. Vesk bounces keep an eye on everyone in line, and only admit those with tickets, no matter how much the people in line try to beg, bribe, or offer other services to enter.
Damorisovitch
|
Damorisovitch looks at the line and realizes that many here don't actually have tickets. To his companions, he says, "Friends, let Damorisovitch go talk to Vesk bouncers. Ve haff tickets, so ve can go in. Zees other folks, zey just vant to go in vithout haffingk tickets, so zey just in our vay. Please to vait here. Damorisovitch vill be back, soon, da?"
He then walks up to the front, to engage in discourse with the vesk bouncers. "Товарищи, у моих друзей и у меня есть небольшая проблема. У нас есть билеты на шоу, но эти люди в пути, и у них нет билетов. Я уверен, что вы позволите нам, действительным владельцам билетов, подняться и войти в ночной клуб?"

Both bouncers give Damorisovitch a cold look.
"Да, конечно. Если у вас есть действительный билет, вы можете ввести его. Все они ждут, если к тому времени, когда начнется исполнение, не все, у кого есть билет. Затем будут проданы новые билеты."
The second one looks Damorisovitch up and down.
"Возможно, вам захочется нарядиться больше. Я сомневаюсь, что тебе повезет с такими дамами."
You might want to dress up more fancy. I doubt you'll have much luck with the ladies like this.
