"Mission was to get the sandstone tablet. Lerecti still has it. Let's do the trade and mark this mission complete before starting anything else. You wanna negotiate more work with Lerecti at that point: fine," Slathalin states in a no-nonsense manner.
Marble Caprice
|
"I'm glad we're helping Lerecti get this back. Sounds like we found the source of the Tablet too. Let's do the trade and update the VC on this."
| GM Woran |
Damorisovitch
|
"Thank you, friend Lerecti." says Damorisovitch politely. "You are honorable android. If you need help getting safely off planet, or to find safe job, Damorisovitch knows people."
| GM Woran |
Lerecti nods at Damorisovitch. "Thank you for the offer. But now that I have my evicence back, I am confident this case will be dismissed by the court, as it proves I was somewhere else when the murder happened. Ive made friends here by now, which feels good. I hope you all have good luck on your Starfinder mission."
Marble Caprice
|
"I hope it works out for you, and if you are interested come check out the Starfinders. We can use good people like you." Marble shakes the android's hand.
After the conversation, Marble reaches out to the Lorespire complex with an encrypted message that they have the tablet as well as information on where it came from.
| GM Woran |
Lerecti Shakes Marble's hand. "Thank you. We will see how it goes. Good luck with the tablet. I hope it brings you more luck then it did me."
Venture-Captain Arvin, via long-range communications, thanks you for completing the assignment. While you were busy, he had the time to study the second dreamspun tale:
“Bandits stalk the fields
Two sisters long since passed
Allies feast upon stone”
We believe the “two sisters” represent the shattered worlds of Damiar and Lovo that now make up the Diaspora asteroid field. After following that lead, I found a local group of dwarven miners from the Silverbrew clan. It appears they happened upon the three fragments of the tablet, but lately they’ve been having problems with smugglers. They say the smugglers have uncovered and sold off the other two pieces, but the Silverbrew leader has promised us the fragment they were able to hold on to in exchange for dealing with these criminals.

As the ship comes, Damorisovitch explains to the team, "Damorisovitch not so good as engineer. However, Damorisovitch is touched by Damoritosh, and has special guidance equipment, so Damorisovitch can use his mystical training in shooting guns. Mostly closing eyes, and focusing on where Damorisovitch wants enemy to be. Usually works."
I have a boon that allows me to shoot ships guns with mysticism instead of pilot skill.

Damorisovitch - Gunner
Saffron - Science / Engeneering
Slathalin - Pilot

Marble scurries around Saffron and takes the seat she does not.
Science or Engineering
Saffron Alva
|
Saffron makes a few quick taps on her computer, adjusts her ear buds and heads off towards engineering.
Finding a chair that almost looks clean, she plops down. Saffron pulls out her computer and plugs into the ships's mainframe.
Alright, Pegasus, let's see what tasty morsels you have hidden away. Hm. Monitor. Might as well watch a bit o' vidstream while I wait.
More finger taps and soon the screen crackles to life. Ooh! A cooking show! Sweet. Wait. Is that a livestream of the Akiton Aktion concert?! F#&* yeah!
A great rumbling of bass and much shaking with a young ysoki spitting fire on the mic rolls out from engineering.
Curious Honesty

Piloting +7, Engineering +8, Gunnery +3, Computers +8. Diplomacy -1...
So. Science. Pilot. Engineer. Guns if in a pinch.
"I can be of use just about anywhere. Except as captain..."
Damorisovitch
|
Actually, captain can encourage as a DC10 in the skill being used! So a generalist makes a good captain.
”Damorisovitch not afraid to give orders, but believes that collective will fight well in unison. Curious Honesty, you have skills that would help you lead, if you think be need a capitan... maybe not stay in one set of controls for entire battle? Move to where we need most? ”
Curious Honesty

"Fair enough Damo. Fair enough. I will go where there is need, and assist as I am able." Curious logs into a main terminal and starts opening up several tabs, getting a feel for the ship and its systems and capabilities.
"... Interesting choice.. Why would they pick That model? .. Probably a legacy carryover. Science. Engineering. Laser cannons. Coilgun. Power core." Curious nods. "Yes. Pretty standard."
Curious looks up satisfied with their understanding of the ship.
Marble Caprice

Marble climbs into the Science seat and wakes up the computer, opening the various software packages and arraigning the windows on the desktop. "Aw man, they have QuikScan loaded on here. That stuff has been broken since the .3c patch.. Oh, good. 7.3a, we're alright!" Pretty quickly Tetris 4D is loading as well.
Saffron Alva

"HE DOESN'T LIKE BEING CALLED DAMO!"
You all manage to hear that over the ysoki gangster rap. Somehow.
| GM Woran |
travel time: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
It takes 5 days to reach the diaspora.
The Pegasus emerges in an asteroid field. A large asteroid in the distance on the view screen can be seen to hold structures with the tell tale warning striping of dwarven architecture.
While you adjust the systems and sensors a slim, dagger-like vessel emerges from a hiding spot between two particularly large asteroid clusters, its olive-colored hull showing signs of recent and incomplete repairs. It approaches at a slow, cautious speed.
The hologram of a ysoki dressed in fine clothes and gaudy jewelry appears in the Loreseeker’s bridge, a wide grin on his face. “You’ve come a long way, travelers. You can call me Mr. Smiles. I’m everyone’s best friend around these parts.”
The ysoki, Mr. Smiles, looks off to the side, nodding at some unheard comment. “Of course. Crank, Stock, Shell, Shuffle, and Breach all say hi. So, what can Her humble grandchildren do for you?”
Saffron Alva
|
We totally should have asked who the damn smugglers were.... son of beech.
Check to see if the phrase "Her humble grandchildren refers to something... divine maybe?
Curious Honesty
|
Curious raises their head at the yelling and responds simply. "Less efficient. But if the preference is strong, noted."
At the approach towards the vessel, Curious will scan their ship, a general safety precaution at nearing any new vessel.
Computers, scan: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
| GM Woran |
A warning light starts blinking at the back of Mr. Smiles console.
"Woah, so familiar, right off the bat! Curious creatures you must be, but I would ask you that while I'm sure we can be friends, to please keep some inquiries to yourself, untill we are better acquainted, yes? We wouldnt want to get off on the wrong foot now."
Damorisovitch
|
"Why would inquiries be wrong?" asks Damorisovitch. "Only people with something to hide are concerned about inquiries. Damorisovitch have nothing to hide.
"Maybe you have something to hide, follower of the goddess of assassins and thieves. Maybe your ship got that damage attacking innocent miners and merchants. Maybe Damorisovitch think you need to learn of more honorable god, Damoritosh. Maybe you sneaking around asteroids for a reason."
Damoritovitch takes control of the turret, and purposely aims the coil gun directly at the Ysoki's ship.
| GM Woran |
Mr. Smiles sighs. "So brash. Very well."
The connection between the ships closes.
Before we begin the actual combat, Id like to explain a bit how I would like to do it, as space combat in PbP can be a bit weird. Since we have a map, Id like the pilot to put the path they are flying down on the map with a line. Its not pretty, but it works, that way you can see the path someone takes. Its important to know how someone flies. I will of course do the same, so we can all see what happens. In a new round, we can put down new lines.
Phase 1 Engineering.
Pegasus engineer can do the Divert action. (as the other actions cant happen yet as the ship has no damage)
Divert
10+1.5xTier
Choose 1: Engines (+2 speed), Computers (+2 to Science Officers), Weapons (Treat 1s as 2s on damage.), Shields (+5% of PCU to shields, distributed as you wish)
Damorisovitch
|
We have a map?!
With that, Damorisovitch shrugs. "This was inevitable, Damorisovitch thinks. Space rats are probably smugglers, and Damoritosh has favored us by bringing us to them, so that we can fulfill our mission.
"Damorisovitch will now meditate on where the river rat ship will be, so that Damorisovitch can greet them with coil gun shots."

Pre-emptive Piloting Initiative
Piloting: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 1 = 11
1 rank in Piloting. So ship's AC/TL are both 13
Marble Caprice
|
Marble takes the scanning systems back from Curious, "I'm on it, keep your head on a swivel."
Scanning (DC 10+Enemies tier): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 Oooo not bad, maybe 5 over?
"Come on baby, let's get cooking. I want to know about your drapes, the brand of toilet paper you stock, if you keep your toothbrush in the shower.." the Ikeshti rambles while clicking through the sensors and honing them in on the ship.
| GM Woran |
Being a Ysoki ship, the toothbrushes are unusually large.
Basic information: Crew complement of 6, Medium explorer, Speed 10; Maneuverability good (turn 1); Drift 1.
Defenses: AC 12; TL 12 HP 55;
Shields basic 20 (forward 5, port 5, starboard 5, aft 5)
100 PCU
scanning you back: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
For the sake of speed I'm going to skip the engeneering phase.
piloting for inititative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
River Rat wins initiative. Pegasus moves first.
Slathalin
|
Slathalin has 1 Rank in Piloting, so our AC/TL are both 13
Fwd:4, Turn right, Fwd 5, Turn left, Fwd 1. Path marked with grey line on map
"Not gonna give them an easy target if I can help it!"
Piloting, Evasion: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 1 = 16
DC 13 for a Tier 2 ship. Increase AC and TL by 2. Both are now 15
| GM Woran |
As the Pegasus moves between the two clusters of asteroids, suddenly they are fired upon!
light laser turret: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
damage: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
The light laster turret impacts the pegasus port side!
The location of the turret has now been marked on the map in purple. The science officer can forgo checks to try and hack the turret with a computers check
The river rat takes the oppurtunity and rushes forward, hoping to exploit the pegasus damaged side!
Gunnery phase
The river rat opens up with its turreg.
captain boosting: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
gunner shooting: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 = 22
coilgun damage: 4d4 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 4) = 12
Curious Honesty
|
Curious takes up position at the turret.
Coilgun: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage: 4d4 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 3) = 11
Figure two at gunnery better at this stage than a potential of +2 to one if I took up Captain. If prove difficult to hit, can switch.
| GM Woran |
Curious his aim is true and he tears trough the river rats shields in their front arc, damaging the hull plating underneath.
River rat front arc, 0 shields, 6 HP damage
Engineering phase
engeneering: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
The river rats engeneer quickly lays down some powerlines, and restores the forward shields.
River rat 6 HP damage
Damorisovitch
|
Eyes closed, fingers lightly dancing over the controls, humming quietly to himself, Damorisovitch triggers the controls for the light laser.
mysticism: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 laser damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
Curious's crit, if it penetrated the shields, should have done a critical
crit for Curious: 1d100 ⇒ 53 weapon arc: 1d4 ⇒ 3 Aft weapon glitching
crit if this shot hit the CT: 1d100 ⇒ 64 Engine glitching
"Is good! We hit tiny ship strongly!"
Marble Caprice
|
"Not too hard a nut to crack, rat man. Ha, look! They're still using the system's default Admin passcodes!"
Scanning (DC 10+Enemies tier): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Marble Caprice
|
"Coilgun turret! We just gotta hit'em harder. Is there another gun open I can move to?"
Damorisovitch
|
”No! Only two weapons that can bear! ” calls out Damorisovitch. ”Maybe you make us target engines, and then we disable them!”
Saffron Alva
|
"Hey! Enough of that you rat bastards!" Saffron's visage hardens as her fingers fly across the keyboard. C'mon c'mon
Engineering: Divert to shields!: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
I believe that should repair 7hp to our shields.
| GM Woran |
River rat has been moved.
map link again because the stupid website wont let me edit my campaign
