"...And the maverick who just doesn't fit in anywhere else, Hakarlo Gan!"

It only takes Aazanar a moment to remember that he is playing the part of Hakarlo Gan. When his name is called, he bows and then stands up straight and holds his spear high.

"Yes! I, Hakarlo Gan, am here to show you that the abyss dragons are... unstoppable!"

He twirls the spear in his right hand, then over his head, then in his left. Behind his back and under his arms, he spins the spear in a dizzying kata, until he flings it into the air! It sails up and circles around one of the floodlights, and returns miraculously to his hand! He flings the spear multiple times, showing off its magical
returning
property.

Then finally, catching the spear in his left hand, he reaches up and grasps his solar mote. With a flash of light, the mote grows in size to a fiery ball more than a foot wide, like a miniature sun. He lets the ball fall, and a chain becomes visible connecting the ball to his hand. He spins the ball to one side, then over his head, until he brings it down with a resounding SMASH! Dust scatters everywhere, and when the dust clears, Aazanar is standing straight again. He holds his weapons high, and then bows once more.

You can certainly try. However, they're 30 feet tall metal pillars that are relatively smooth with occasional handholds. So they're quite challenging to climb.

@Bubbles, nope, not immune to mind effects.

Well, it doesn't get you to the top of the pillar but this happens....

Tchisk, in a show of strength begins climbing one of the metal pillars, USING JUST HIS ARMS AND HANDS!! The crowd stares, amazed at this little ysoki's upper body strength. You get about 10 feet up but unable to hold on any longer, push off, do a little flip and stick a wholly impractical but cool-looking three point landing!

The crowd cheers, clearly pleased at your display despite your not making it up to the top.

@Tchisk if you want to attempt to climb up to the top of the pillar again during combat, it will require a DC25 Athletics check and a move action to climb 15 feet. So a double move and two successful DC25 Athletics checks will get you to the top.

Next, Aazanar digs deep into his acting skills and puts on an AMAZING display for the crowd! The cheers from the crowd can't possibly be any louder! One of the announcers states...

And just for fun, here's a bit more fluff that Bubbles knows about crest-eaters.

Crest-eater fluff:
Terrifying predators that roam the deserts and canyons of Kasath, crest-eaters earned their moniker thanks to their highly specialized diets: the hulking beasts feed almost exclusively on bone, and when attacking kasathas, they usually tear the humanoids’ heads from their bodies and then quickly and messily devour the bony crests within.

A crest-eater has an advanced metabolism that processes the minerals it consumes to grow a large protrusion—a cross between antlers and a shell—from the crest-eater’s head and back. This outgrowth isn’t just made out of bone, however; it contains tiny fragments of reflective compounds that act like thousands of solar panels, thus providing the remainder of the nutrients the cresteaters need to survive.

As they age, the beasts grow more and more elaborate protrusions, increasing their surface area in order to store reserves of minerals for lean times. Crest-eaters also produce a venom that liquefies minerals, which can strip natural deposits of these resources from nearby rocks as easily as it melts the bones of their prey.

The clamps holding down the crest-eater are released. It shakes itself free from the now unclamped restraining harness and it charges towards you!!!

“Stellar,” the lashunta man slurs. He glances at the floor and his smile changes to a look of disgust. He takes an exaggerated step over the bare ground as though trying to avoid an object there and trips, falling face-first into one of the metal pillars on the arena floor. Aazanar grins and offers his hand.

Envar steps over to Aazanar and reaches out to shake Aazanar's hand but misses. Envar says, "Woah, I see how you won... That's a neat trick phasing in and out like that!" After three more attempts, Envar finally connects with Aazanar's hand and shakes it.

Aazanar Kroi wrote:

At this point, Envar stops paying attention to Aazanar and he pulls out a datapad, then starts scrolling and typing into his info feed...

Imagine someone pulling out their smartphone then playing with it, while ignoring everything else. Kind of like what I'm doing right now as I type this up!

Aazanar Kroi wrote:

Envar then meanders over to the fallen crest-eater and takes a half dozen selfies with the carcass, striking multiple poses. "Oh! Gotta get the second one too!" He walks over to an empty patch of ground and takes more selfies with an empty patch of ground.

As Aazanar continues talking, Envar looks around, walks up to each of you invidvidually and takes a few selfies with every one of you. However, in his selfies, you can see that he framed the pictures with himself front and center while you are all halfway cut out of the frame.

"Oh???" says Envar. (real or hallucination: 1d2 ⇒ 1) He walks over to the crest-eater corpse and kicks it a few times. It doesn't move. "Heeeey!!! Check it out! It's got rainbow colored blood spilling out!!"

You look at the carcass and no, it doesn't have any blood spilling out.

Envar continues, "Seems pretty dead to me. Hmmmm, I think I'll have its bones rendered down as a trophy for you guys, my new champions! Doesn't that sound faaaar oooout fellas?!?!? How many gladiators can say they own a trophy made up of monster bones???"

He then snaps his fingers and says, "I just had a great idea! You, talking balloon, I'm going to call you... get this... Un Named!! Because who would name a balloon???"

Having met everyone else, Envar turns his attention to Rez, clearly waiting for Rez to say something. Their eyes lock onto each other in silence. They stare at each other... one second passes... two seconds... their eyes narrow as they eye each other... five seconds... things begin to get awkward... ten seconds...

A full minute passes when Envar bursts into a big smile, throws his arms out and hugs Rez! "Now that was a good talk! I really feel like you touched my soul, lil man!!!"

(Unless Rez resists...) Envar picks Rez up and puts Rez on Envar's shoulders and begins walking towards the arena exit swaying drunkenly left and right as he moves forward.

He doesn't actually hold Rez steady and once he starts walking, he seems to forget Rez is on his shoulders.
@Rez: DC15 reflex save to stay balanced on Envar's shoulders or you fall off but no injuries from falling, except maybe to your ego. Regardless of whether Rez falls off or stays on, Envar keeps walking...

As he walks, Envar casually states, “While you're here, do you wanna check the place out? My personal tour covers all the hot spots. If you want the VIP treatment, come with me. Just watch out for the space worms - they pop up now and then on the station. If you don't touch them, they'll eventually go away. The ones with three arms and one leg tend to stick around a little longer but they eventually disappear too."

Feel free to say or do anything before I continue. You can take a 10 min rest as you speak with (and follow?) Envar but I believe no one needs it.

Bubbles stands very still for a moment. A balloon? I guess.. whatever makes him happy! But, balloons don't talk! Whatever will I do? I, suppose, I could be quiet for a while... A full three seconds pass. HA!I couldn't do that! The barathu then begins bobbing along behind Envar, trying to mimick the movements of a child's balloon. "Hello, Envar. This is me. Your balloon. We balloons love VIP areas. But also boring areas. Like offices. And computers." He continues to float, slowly pestering. " Would you happen to know anywhere quiet like that? Perhaps you have an office? Or a family member has an office we could go to?"

Rez is bombarded by a barrage of scents and aromas wafting from Tamm when he comes in for the sloppy hug. Whether it's his cologne, a daliance's perfume, or any number of spices both culinary or hallucinatory, Rez's olfactory senses are tingling. The overload is such that he is taken aback and can't chain words to speak.

Just grin and bear it... befriend the dolt, and with that comes access...

He promptly falls over like a sack of potatoes, crashing to the dirt floor before even reaching the vomitorium of the arena. Pressing himself up from the ground on his elbows, Rez sees his Tamm carry on, talking to at times everyone and no one in particular.

Gods, I hope this is worth it. Rez kips up to his feet, and dusts himself off, catching up with Tamm and the rest of the crew.

"Oh yah, I've got the BEST office in the system! We'll head there now!" says Envar.

Envar leads the party out of the arena and down a hallway to the elevator. A holo-projection of Ilia Tamm pops up in the hallway as you pass, reciting a canned message: “Security is important to Arch Energy. Remember to reset your computer passwords once a week. Use a 16-character password that does not contain any recognizable words or patterns to increase its security.”

Envar rolls his eyes at the projection and sighs, “I told you, Mother, I can’t remember all those letters and numbers. That’s why it’s still— Wait, where’d she go?”

Envar shrugs and walks up to the elevator door and says to you, "We don't let just anyone into the VIP areas." He then swipes his key card through a reader and an apparatus on the wall scans his retina before opening. Envar then clicks his tongue and points finger guns at you all before entering the elevator.

The elevator is composed of gray metal with a glass window through which you can see employees at work as you descend. A holo-projection of Ilia Tamm announces each level as you pass, and a chime sounds as the glass doors slide open to reveal a dimly lit hallway ending in glass double doors emblazoned with a crescent sun and the word “Eclipse.”

Envar steps out of the elevator and beckons you to follow him. As the party approaches the doors, another holo-projection of Ilia Tamm appears and announces, “Your rest cycle and mental health are important to your productivity. Please enjoy your recreation time responsibly during your noncontracted hours.”

You walk through the doors into a small foyer which leads to a large open room furnished with hovering black marble tables and dark-orange leather booths. A semicircular bar occupies most of the eastern wall, its multiple tiers backlit in blue and purple neon where glowing, flaming, and frothing drinks are served. A small holoscreen above the host stand in the foyer broadcasts an image of a scowling shirren in a white chef’s hat accompanied by the text “Chef Ghornak personally endorses Eclipse with a five-nova review!”

Envar spreads his arms out wide and grandly proclaims, "And this.... is my beloved office!!! NO ONE ELSE can claim to have a five-nova office!"

A male android clad in a white suit and orange tie standing behind the podium says, "Welcome to the Eclipse. May I check your coat and weapons?"

Flenn watches Envar, inscrutable behind his armor's helmet and rebreather. He considers this bizarre individual before him, running through a mental catalog of his medical background to try to diagnose what could possibly be going on with this being. Perhaps a drug reaction? Or a side effect of his psionic abilities?

Upon stepping into the office, he walks past the male android without notice, not handing over any of his weapons. "Nice office, Envar."

Oh, in case it wasn't clear, the android meant 'check in' your coat and weapons, as in store them away so that you would be more comfortable in the lounge without having to carry bulky items. The android didn't mean it wanted to 'examine' your possessions. Sorry for the confusion.

Flenn has been observing Envar's behavior and physical condition this entire time. Based on your observations and the fact that Historia-7 mentioned he's got an addiction to transdimensional pesh, you conclude that he's been tripping out since the moment you met him and he's showing no signs of coming down from his high.

Tchisk and Mec-01 can let me know retroactively if you want to check in anything with the android host while you visit the Eclipse Lounge.

As you proceed in, you see an all-android waitstaff and a kasatha bartender catering to customers. The kasatha bartender has two additional cybernetic arms - she mixes and serves drinks to patrons with all six arms. She turns to your group and says, “Welcome back, Mr. Tamm. Everyone, my name is Tolara. Would you care for a cocktail, or perhaps service at our premium gas bar? We carry oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen — whatever suits your pleasure.”

I've moved everyone's tokens up to the bar area. Feel free to move your token elsewhere if you want to explore around.
