Standing up and grinning with yellow teeth and scale at the thug who dares to wear his color on the arm. Zabrutal's hand glows and crackles with power again as he reaches out to remove the offender from the world.

Gornoc hustles back down the ladder and over to the undead woman, I didn't realize people from Eox were such jerks! I mean you shot me. I didn't appreciate it now to much, so you better just stay down. Gornoc points his riffle at her. One false move.

Now where did you get the Starfinder Insignas?

Dead Suns:

You have the feeling the lady would sigh. If she still needed to draw breath.

"That what this is all about? A pair of trinkets? Very well then. I traveled aboard a vessel called the Endless Threnody. It picked up the distress call of a Starfinder vessel. The Threnody traveled to the
Starfinder vessel’s crash site on a desert planet and acquired several treasures, including the Starfinder insignias. Before we could get into the Drift, we were surprised and crippled by a pirate ship identified as the Lawblight.
The Endless Threnody now floats in the Drift, unable to leave, and I
was dispatched to acquire repair materials."
She gestures at her bad, which hold several clean skulls.
"Please dont be alarmed." With care not to make a threatening move, she retrieves a datapad from her bag.
I doe not know the coordinates of the crashed Starfinder vessel.
Or even the name of the world it was on. My role on board the Threnody was such that I did not need to know. But those coordinates will be in the files of the Endless Threnody’s navigational computer. The datapad holds the coordinates of where the Threnody is now."

Before you can decide what to do with the lady, there is commotion down the hallway.
Station security rushes in, followed by a family of Ysoki.

The Ysoki are extremely gratefull you dealt with the thread, and the lady is taken away by station security under arrest.
The Ysoki each provide you with a plant bulb as a reward. They explain that when chewed, each bulb acts as a dose of tier-1 antitoxin.

Calling VC Arvin, he is pleased with you following up on this lead so quickly. He asks you to follow this mystery further by finding the Endless Threnody and asks you to meet him at the space docs.
He also encourages you to keep the Starfinder insignias for now, they might come in handy in the future.

The Ysoki let you all know you're all welcome at the garden whenever you like.

When you make your way to the docs:

Venture-Captain Arvin stands next to the entry ramp of a sleek-looking starship. He waves his hands over the side of the starship affectionately. “This is the Loreseeker, a Pegasus-class ship that’s one of the fastest and lightest in the Society’s fleet.
“We know that a lost Starfinder vessel, the Unbounded Wayfarer, was discovered by undead creatures from a starship called the Endless Threnody. We’ve pulled some strings with our more reputable Eoxian contacts to get more information, but they’ve disavowed knowledge of the Endless Threnody entirely; this likely confirms our suspicions that the Endless Threnody is connected with the Corpse Fleet, a group of Eoxian separatists who refuse to work alongside the living.
“We have the location of the Endless Threnody in the Drift, courtesy of that ghoul you tracked down. Its Drift engine is incapacitated, so it’s unable to escape the Drift. Take the Loreseeker into the Drift, cripple the Eoxian ship—as a Corpse Fleet vessel, they won’t be open to negotiations—and recover the location of the lost Starfinder vessel.”

This will be the fist time I do starship combat in PbP. We'll have to find out how to make this work together. I've put the stats of the Loreseeker in the campaign notes so you can access them at the top of the page.

Once Drift borne, Captain Harridan spends his time going over the crew manifest, ship's stores and spending time at each crew memeber's station, learning not only about what they do, but who they are and what he can expect from them in a fight.

"Not at the moment Bask, but if you'll go over the team with me, we can see who would fit best where and when." He then collaborates watch cycles with his team, changing as necessary through the coming weeks, due to illness, personality differences, or simply boredom.

In what little off time he allows himself, he can be found either in the cargo hold practicing his tactical sword drills, or in his quarters going over the most recent bounties from the infosphere.

Every once in a while he can be seen rubbing the arm where he was bitten. A scowl forms on his face when he sees someone noticing him do so, but otherwise, as much of a hardcase as he can be, his team was important to him and he wanted to see them through this mission. After 18 days of R&R in the drift, you approach the coordinates Exagara, the ghoul lady, provided you with.
However, there is no ship in sight.

Scanning around, suddenly warnings go up around the ship, and the Eoxian ship appears behind you!
The Eoxian freighter is a massive vessel made of bone and steel. The front of the ship is a single enormous red lens, appearing as a sullen, bloody eye. The ship bristles with bone protrusions, as though it were some horned, skeletal beast.
Some of the bones are charred and broken, indicating past battle damage. Laser cannons protrude from the front and sides of the freighter; but its rear weapon mounts are a twisted wreck. Gaps between the bones show the ship’s interior, but this is not from battle damage—this ship was never intended to accommodate living creatures.

Dead Suns:

Yes. I just did my part already to speed it up, as I have no crew to consult. I'm a dictatorship ;)

Starship combat rounds:

1. Engineering: The engineers can repair the starship’s systems or give one or more systems a boost. These actions occur simultaneously, so they can be resolved in any order.
2. Helm: Each starship’s pilot attempts a Piloting check. The pilot with the lowest result acts first to move his starship and perform stunts, followed by the next lowest, and so on, until all starships have moved. Also during this phase, each of the science officers act at the same point in the phase as her starship’s pilot, but they can decide between them who acts first.
3. Gunnery: The gunners can fire their starships’ weapons. Although starships fire in the same order decided upon in the helm phase, the effects of damage are not taken into account until the end of the phase, meaning that all starships can fire, even if they take enough damage to be disabled or destroyed during this phase.

Hullpoints: 89 out of 100, no shields. Their Power Core is a Arcus Ultra with 150 PCU. Finally Forward weapon: heavy laser cannon (4d8), we want to stay out of that arc!"

GM: I hope you did not mind that I went ahead and posted what I learned

Kallus nods at Baskoro's report as he struggles to keep whatever passed for food on this ship down with Zye's flying. "You got that Zye? Stay out of that arc. Gornoc, nice shooting. See if you can keep him busy while Zye gets us behind him. He won't last long once we get those lasers online."

Considering my diplomacy is not the best, you're right, maybe I should have saved that, but I'll roll a Diplomacy, more than likely for Zye's next maneuver... nope..

Dead Suns:

No problem with posting that Baskoro. Pegasus is tier 2 so no dodging this round.

The Threnody makes a heavy handed turn, catching the pegasus in its starboard arc.

firing the laz0rs: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

It looks like the Eoxian is getting the hang of it, letting the shot pass a little too close for comfort.

Gornoc returns fire with the coilgun!

damage: 4d4 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 3) = 13

Dead Suns:

Did anyone use those loose bonuses yet? Those two misses could be turned into hits.

Also, with the forums going down so much, I would like to propose we cut this quest short. Nearly all of you already played the quests, and this isn't the most exiting combat. While there has been an extension of a few days, I think we can use that to try and push for completion, rather then let this quest eat up more time. But I will leave that completely up to you

Fine with pushing forward, to try to finish close to one time.

What loose bonuses are you referring too? I must have missed them.

The two +1 bonuses from the MK 1 duonode computer. I am fine with pushing on GM!

Ok with proceeding (though we actually seems to be doing okay with this one :)

One thing I do not care for about Starfinder is how much they hide parts of starship stats and abilities deep in the statblock. If they can cite things like '+2computers, +1 piloting' I don't get why they can't also note "+1 to two checks a round" or something.
