Despite Navasi's evasive maneuvers, both goblin fighters score hits against your shields 7 damage to forward, 7 damage to starboard. Altronus and Obozaya fire their big guns at the faltering fighter, which has flipped around to provide a shielded side as a target. The shields do not save it as Obozaya's blast burns through them and destroys the tiny fighter. Altronus, working his four arms furiously, is too hasty with his targeting, missing the cloud of particles that was the goblin fighter, but he does manage to score a mark against the hull of the lone remaining goblin fighter.

Quig’s Engineering DC 18 to divert to shields: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Quig dives down under his console again, screwdriver between his teeth. "Still something wrong down here! Sorry! Oh, shield status: front 8, port 13, starboard 6 and aft 13! One moment!"
Dystopian Altronus |
Altronus says, "I agree. We would be protecting future vessels."
He targets the fleeing vessel and fires once more when ready.
Secondary Gun: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
GM Blake |
Navasi simply pulls along the fleeing goblin's port side and both Obozaya-bot and Altronus open fire with the Pegasus' two biggest guns, turning the tiny fighter into space dust. It's retaliatory blast of shrapnel and flak bounces off of your shields.
With the enemy fighters dealt with, the science station pings repeatedly as your sensors detect an anomalous signal coming from the false moon's surface. Navasi is able to identify several safe landing sights, ultimately choosing one that provides sufficient cover from prying eyes or wandering goblin scavengers.
The ship vibrates faintly as you penetrate the moon's atmosphere. The environmental readout informs you that the atmosphere is thin and the gravity is low.

ringing the Pegasus to a landing, Thin atmosphere and low grav. might want to limit time without some protection. the thin air may get us winded much more easily.
GM Blake |
As you make your way across the moon's hard surface, you spy a large hanger with a ship crashed through the backside.
A shattered spacecraft covers the entry area and back end of this immense hangar. The remains of the ship spread across the exposed northern bulkhead. Several sparks flash amid exposed wiring. The telltale shrieks of goblin songs ring out from the hangar’s rear, accompanied by the recognizable bangs and whirrs of a salvaging crew. A ship hull plate sits discarded near the entrance. Just below a number designation, in bold red letters, reads the ship’s call sign: Archer.

All armor counts as an environmental suit, so you're good (unless your armor gets sundered).

"Shall we deal with them head-on, or try and find a way around?"
-Posted with Wayfinder
Dystopian Altronus |
"Indeed, let us face this challenge head-on then."
Altronus flexes his lower right arm and a short beam of starlight rips out from his wrist, taking on the appearance of a sword.
GM Blake |
The goblins with red environmental suits look bigger and meaner than the other goblins, and they have nicer looking laser pistols in their belts (although nicer is a relative term as they appear to have been cobbled together with salvaged bits, duct tape, and bubble gum).
DC is 8 as long as you stay behind/move between cover.

Keskodai sneaks between covering debris and up the stairs leading to the catwalk. There he finds a magnetic door (presumably locked) with a retinal scanner. Someone with reasonable engineering skills could probably override it.
GM Blake |
There are no apparent traps. However, the door does not open as you approach, remaining magnetically sealed.

A soft glow radiates from flickering computer screens, washing the various and numerous workstations under a film of light the color of sea foam. The constant hum of electronics floods the room, enhanced periodically by several nagging pings from blinking console alarms.
The east side of the command center is a green-screened mainframe computer terminal. Occasionally, sparks shower the area from thick cables sprawling from underneath its exposed bulk. You see two blistered, green goblin feet sticking out from under the cables and a charred hand reaching lifelessly toward the ceiling from between the coils.

Seeing everyone else disappear behind the door, Raia does her best to sneak after them. She's very aware of how loud her footsteps are and how loudly her armor creaks with every step, despite her best effords at moving silently.
And yet, she seems to be succesful.

sense motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
After some observations of the goblins, Navasi simply runs for the door to catch up with the group, not worrying much about being stealthy.
once there, I don't think those goblins are interested in what we are doing. they might be under some sort of mind control.

"Someone get that goblin out from under there"
GM Blake |
The goblin, when dragged out from under the pile of conduit and wires, wears a different outfit than the goblins working down below. He wears a fetish-like talisman made of a variety of engineering tools. Quig figures that these make up a tool kit or the goblin's own custom rig. Looking over the damaged mainframe, the ysoki also determines that the exposed cables are not the cause of the goblin's electrocution. He finds scorched goblin flesh sticking to the terminal's keyboard interface. Satisfied that he will not be crisped while repairing the computer, he crawls underneath and gets to it. He demonstrates his superior skills once again and quickly has the mainframe operational.
Quig decides that he might as well hack into the computer while he's down there and scoffs at the simplistic defenses and firewalls. Once he has root access, he decides to give his comm unit remote access to the mainframe and its systems, just for giggles.
(Who needs allies when you're an ysoki engineer?)
With root access, Quig is able to remotely link the terminal to her communication unit.
Access allows her to using a Standard action:
Turn the lights on and off
Unlock and lock any sealed door
Silence any alarms (including the annoying ones in the command center)
Pinpoint the source of the mysterious signal (the computer indicates that it is through the elevator doors on the other side of the catwalk and down to the basement level)
Adjust the ambient temperature between 66 and 78 degrees F
Root access allows additional options also a Standard action:
Lights Out: Turn out the lights
Strobe: Cause the lights to rapidly alternate between on and off for 1 round, causing anyone not expecting it to be dazzled for 3 rounds (this only works once in a given situation)
Up, Up, and Away: Temporarily turn off the artificial gravity (1 round per use)
Terrible Truths: Play audio logs over the loud speaker (currently the party does not have the necessary logs to gain the effect)
