Ryuko's Runelords: Burnt Offerings (Inactive)

Game Master Ryuko

1 to 50 of 235 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | next > last >>

Simple enough. In my previous thread I asked for votes and the people have spoken. They want a Rise of The Runelords game and who am I to deny them? I will be beginning the game on Monday August 8th. Recruitment will remain open until then. I will be accepting 5 players (6 if I have someone I absolutely can't leave out.) and we will be beginning at Level 1.

Submissions:
Submissions will be considered complete when I have recieved the following in this thread:
Name
Concept
Group Role (Note I'd like a reasonably balanced group, so roles everyone is trying for have less chance to get in.)
Class and Archetypes (Including any plans for Multiclassing or PrCs)
Race (I like Core Races, personal tic. I will allow bestiary races, but know I'll likely pick Core over them unless they are compelling.)
Backstory (Be interesting and detailed)

Crunch Guidelines:
15 pt. Buy (I know that's tough, but I make up for it, I promise.)
2 Traits
1 Campaign Feat (These can be found in the Player's Guide)
1 Specially crafted GM Boon. This will increase in power as you level and will generally be mostly a mystery. It will also tie greatly into your characters backstory so be detailed.
2 Backstory plot hooks. I like to work in things (usually roleplaying based) from character background, so give me a little to work with

Character Questionnaire:
Why are you at the Swallowtail Festival?
What's your main motivation?
What other motivations do you have?
What is your greatest fear?
What is your greatest wish?
What is the moral line you would never cross?
What do you know of goblins?

If that hasn't turned you away from the thought of playing then drop me a concept and show me what you can do. Let's go fight us some giants!

Name: Rohan Drake
Concept: Ex-Hermean who is trying to find his way who has an energetic talkative eidolon sidekick.(See profile)
Group Role:Tank Primarily, but the eidolon is versatile and can do scouting or face stuff.
Class and Archetypes: Summoner then Dragon Disciple
Race: Human
Backstory: See Profile

Crunch:I may need help with the plot hooks though.

Questionnaire
Why are you at the Swallowtail Festival?
Copperscale(eidolon) heard about it while we were on our last job. He insisted we go.
What's your main motivation?
To better myself and to find some redemption. Also Copperscale insists that I open up more.
What other motivations do you have?
Learning and experiencing new things.
What is your greatest fear?
Well, I'm insecure about my worth in general because of the exile. So something along the lines of finding out that I will never be good enough.
What is your greatest wish?
To be able to go back to my home or to find a new home.
What is the moral line you would never cross?
Cold blooded murder and things that would fall under unnecessary cruelty. I more or less have a kind heart.
What do you know of goblins?
Only what I've read in books. Little green thieves that can't be trusted.

Name - Alorne Cooper
Concept - Face / support fighter
Group Role - Face / support fighter. Using sneak attack to set up/help other party members dish out damage
Class and Archetypes Rogue knife master / Unarmed fighter
Race - half-elf

Backstory:
- Alorne's grandfather is Alan Cooper, a blacksmith in town. He's been taking care of Alorne since his parents died, 6 years ago. (They were killed in a bandit raid.) Alorne loves Alan like a father and he tries to be helpful. Even though he is technically a man, he is also a teenager and sometimes the two clash with each other.
Alorne has no knowledge of his parents finding and raising him. He thinks of them as his real parents. He likes being outside and he's good with people. He's a bit nervous about using long swords and other big weapons. He knows how to use them but prefers using daggers. Gent, a friend of his fathers and a monk, stayed with Alorne and his grandfather for a while and showed Alorne the basics of unarmed fighting.
When Alorne isn't working at the smithy he is out trying not to cause too much trouble with his friends.

Qestioneer:
Why are you at the Swallowtail Festival? Food, girls, dancing, girls, entertainer, and girls.
What's your main motivation? Make grandfather proud
What other motivations do you have? Survival and have friends.
What is your greatest fear? Not living up to grandfather's expectations.
What is your greatest wish? Too have my parents back in my life.
What is the moral line you would never cross? Kill a friend.
What do you know of goblins? They are short and fast. They smell bad. Stay away from them.

still need to pick a campaign trait.

One more thing, in crunch, add line: Maximum starting gold for class.

EDIT: What is wrong with me? All concepts need alignment in submissions. I'm partial to good characters but Neutral are fine too. Evil characters will receive extreme scrutiny and most likely will not get in unless they are extremely good concepts, can work with the group, and still have a reason to move ahead in the campaign. Even with all that, they are not likely to be chosen.

SWEET this is the one I was most curious about Ill have my character up 5 secs :)

Dotting for interest.

I have a Varisian Dreamspun bloodline sorceress I am waiting on another to approve of. If that falls through, I would still like to use her.

Name: Zelaria Quiatris
Concept: Lonely damsel in distress searching for her Prince Charming
Group Role: Support caster, battlefield control light enchantment, divination, and the occasional intelligent use of illusion and evocation.
Class: Sorceress (Dreamspun bloodline)
Race: Human (Varisian)

Quick Backstory:

Zelaria was a comely child, whose expressive violet eyes seemed very early on to have a talent for seeing more than they ought to have. The Eldest, her caravan's fortune teller, quickly took her under her wing fairly early and began instructing her in those things that were Desna's concerns, listening to and adjudicating her dreams and teaching her to listen to them. In her free time, she played with her brothers, who pretended to be knights sworn to her service, and trained with them swatting at imagined linnorms with sticks. That all ended when their caravan was attacked one evening. The brothers smuggled Zelaria to safety, and the caravan was overrun. Being children, and subject to exposure, they caught fevers. The brothers perished before the trio could be rescued, sacrificing what little remained of their food stores to keep their princess alive.

Zelaria has resided in Sandpoint since being rescued. She has a bright and romantic soul, eager for adventure, but has a slight bit of trouble opening up to persons in general.

Questionnaire:

Why are you at the Swallowtail Festival?
I never miss a social event in the town, I am quite eager to meet new people in general.
What's your main motivation?
To shed my princess guise and become a heroine in my own right, to prove the worth of my abilities in the achievement of a noble cause.
What other motivations do you have?
To learn the history of the Varisian people, and discover the truth about our mythical home, and whether or not we may ever attain it.
What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear is to watch another suffer and die to protect me.
What is your greatest wish?
My greatest wish is to be able to find and cultivate true companions whom I can trust, and maybe, to come to love another.
What is the moral line you would never cross?
I would never harm an innocent, or suffer to watch any creature unable to defend itself be slaughtered by a much greater force.
What do you know of goblins?
Goblins are icky, nasty little creatures with bad tempers who rob and steal. They are bandits with much less charm and romantic flavor.

Alright this is Vulf Longfang a traveling performing swordsman.

Name: Vulf Longfang

Concept: Ousted by his clan Vulf has travelled the Land trying to improve himself in swordsmanship and performing his sword dance to make money.

Race: Half Elf

Alignment: Chaotic neutral

Intro Backstory: See Alias

Questionnaire:
Why are you at the Swallowtail Festival?
To make some money and hopefully improve his swordsmanship.
What's your main motivation?

What is your greatest fear?
To die alone without family and friends.
What is your greatest wish?

What is the moral line you would never cross?
To kill unworthy foes that have proven they are no match for him.
What do you know of goblins?
They are worthless foes alone but together they could make interesting opponents.

Well, since its too late to edit, then I will post it now.

Alignment is Chaotic Good. I will fix the starting gold issue later today, but my gear is more or less done.

Yep just forgot to add feat in my post but I took wind clan for feat and all the gear i have is Sword double bladed and hide shirt.

Will add skills later on if chosen or if you want me to Ryuko

Thinking about joining it. Two minor problems -- (1) I have only really played GURPS before via PbP, and will be learning Pathfinder as I go (and probably making many mistakes as I do so); and (2) I have two special needs children, so I often disappear without posting for a week or two about four or five times a year. If you can tolerate both of those (if I disappear, feel free to move on without me or roll for me), I would be happy to join.

Here is the character. Like I said, I am not fluent in Pathfinder, so if this breaks the mythos in some way, please let me know and I will correct it.

Name: Thaomond God-Forsaken
Concept: Last Member of His Clan Looking to Die Honorably in Battle
Class: Barbarian
Race: Human
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Why are you at the Swallowtail Festival?
Travelling the world as a sell-sword, he most recently guarded a caravan that arrived in Sandpoint. After finishing this job, he stayed in town looking for more employment -- as either a city guard or for some merchant. He just happened, therefore, to be there.

What's your main motivation?
To die. See backstory.

What other motivations do you have?
Develop perfection in combat. To enjoy life to its fullest while awaiting his inevitable death. To prove to the gods they made a mistake in allowing his life to be extended.

What is your greatest fear?
Dying of old age.

What is your greatest wish?
To fight a glorious battle against overwhelming odds and there die to be remembered forever.

What is the moral line you would never cross?
Surrender.

What do you know of goblins?
Hunted them as part of his tribe.

Quick Character Backstory:
Thaomond was a member of a barbarian tribe that gloried in battle. They felt themselves favored of the god of war, until a surprise attack from a rival tribe resulted in the slaughter of all of their people. All except one -- a youth named Thaomond. He alone was denied the opportunity to die in glorious battle. He was merely injured, but survived.

Since that time, with no more tribe, he had wandered the world looking for combat. It is his hope that he will ultimately find a battle that will claim his life. By so doing, he hopes to join his tribe in the afterlife and there battle forever.

Assuming the character is approved, I have a long supply of backstory for him (that may or may not work with Pathfinder). I will probably throw a bunch of it out there, and you can simply pick out those things that work and ignore those that don't.

Updated campaign feat and background.

Can we wait on buying equipment until we know we're picked?
Also assuming we'll get the boon item and plot hooks then too.

There are runes tattooed beneath her left eye, and the primary design can be seen from the neck of her dress to adorn her collar bone, and her left and primary hand., including the last digits of her fingers. She wears a charm bracelet on her right ankle set with tinkling charms so that there is music whenever she walks.

Submissions will be considered complete when I have recieved the following in this thread:
Name Luminiere Argence Solaras Dawnbringer II
Concept a naive airheaded goodie 2 shoes Acolyte
Group Role healer, face, moral support
Class and Archetypes Oracle (life mystery) of sarenrae (haunted curse)
Race Aasimaar
Backstory, a distant younger cousin of nualia who was adopted by the church at a young age and spent most of her sheltered life polishing altars and doing minor domestic chores for the church. heavily raised on the idea of purity being one of the greatest virtues and heavily urged by her celestial blood onto the path of good. due to the nature of her specific celestial ancestor, her appearance is more juvenile due to her slight build, soft features and complete lack of anything along the lines of scars or callouses. she was upset the first time the church burned down in her childhood and is haunted by the spirits of those who died in the burning. she tries to maintain a positive attitude but forever yearns to see her dear cousin one last time.

Character Questionnaire:
Why are you at the Swallowtail Festival? i always attend because the church expects me to perform minor miracles for them to advertise thier image and because my talents in song and healing are often needed
What's your main motivation? to see my dear Nu-Nu again.
What other motivations do you have? to explore the wondrous outside world and learn, to spread love and kindness throughout the world, and to find true love for myself
What is your greatest fear? that Nu-Nu would discard me in favor of the dark powers that be
What is your greatest wish? to find that special someone just for me
What is the moral line you would never cross? i would never attempt to personally bring harm to a helpless child. but i know that i have not the strength to fight off a stronger opponent on my own. so i tend to rely on rallying the help of others
What do you know of goblins? the accrused things burned down the church and the dawnflower expects them to be smoten. but i don't beleive that i can be the one to do it. i can assist others with the task though.

Name: Skerrin Maltisse
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Concept: Middle-aged, somewhat bookish Elf, who has been struck by wanderlust, and has decided to actually *experience* the world, rather than just reading about it.
Group Role: Arcane blaster, with utility spells on tap as well.
Class and Archetypes: Wizard (Evoker[Admixture])
Race: Elf

Appearance:

Skerrin is an elderly Elf, with a mane of fine silvery hair, and a tanned, weather-lined face. He generally dresses in a sturdy explorer’s outfit, dyed green with designs picked-out in silver thread. He typically has a journal and quill in hand, ready to make note of anything interesting which catches his eye.

Although he can be quite distracted at times, going off onto tangents about esoteric subjects, he is quick to smile, and is filled with boundless energy – although his strength is failing, he is still as spry as ever!

Background:

Originally from Kyonin, Skerrin moved to Korvosa almost two hundred years ago, when his master was made the Kyonin cultural attaché to Korvosa. As a means of furthering better magical relations between the Korvosan Acadamae and the mages of Kyonin, his master deemed that it was politically expedient for him to send his apprentice to take classes at the Acadamae.

Skerrin found that the majority of the humans were aloof, but he kept his head-down, and despite the fact that he had no particular skill at Conjuration, eventually took the Test of Summoning.

Having ensured that his token ‘olive branch’ of intercollegiate goodwill had succeeded, Skerrin’s master turned his attention away from the Acadamae, and focused on his ‘cultural’ portfolio with great zeal – in fact, he became quite notorious for his interest in the young women of Korvosa, much to the chagrin of more than one noble house or merchant family.

However, such scandalous activities were simply a cover for his actual purpose in the city – using a combination of magic and money, he maintained a web of informants that specialised in knowing anything and everything about the city.

Invariably, Skerrin was in the thick of whatever long game his master was running. Things continued in this fashion for close to a century, before someone managed to unravel the carefully constructed web, and attempted to finger the puppet-master – Skerrin took the fall for his master, and was ultimately expelled from the city for spying.

He returned back to Kyonin, and lived a life of quite mediocrity, pouring over ancient books, and developing a reputation as a respectable sage. However, in his later years, he was seized by wanderlust – he remembered the fierce excitements and the rush of adrenaline associated with adventure and discovery, and decided that he would like to experience it again before he retired.

Searching through his records, he became fascinated with the cyclopean ruins and tantalizing hints of forgotten magic that littered the Varisian Gulf, and resolved to travel there. Taking a boat from Magnimar to Sandpoint, he arrived just in time for the Swallowtail Festival...

Why are you at the Swallowtail Festival?
Just disembarked from a boat out of Magnimar, with the goal of inspecting the Glass Works in town, before moving out of Sandpoint. Arriving in the middle of a festival was a pleasant surprise.

What's your main motivation?
To learn more about the history of Varisia, the magical techniques of its natives, and the ancient artefacts which litter the countryside.

What other motivations do you have?
To travel and experience the world before I die.

What is your greatest fear?
That I might die away from my homeland, and be forgotten.

What is your greatest wish?
To achieve immortality - whether physical, or through discovering something so important, that my memory will live on long after I die.

What is the moral line you would never cross?
Killing a family member or friend; harming a child.

What do you know of goblins?
Knowledge(Local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15. Goblins are small, green, vicious, fast, voracious, and quite insane. They have a deep hatred of dogs and horses, but are generally incredibly disorganised.

Full crunch is available on his profile page. Let me know what you think! :-)

possible plot hooks

Lumi could have picked up rumors of her missing dear Nu-Nu

the goblins dare to defile the church again, they must be smoten

starting gear (assuming max gold as mentioned)

chain shirt, dagger, masterwork backpack, belt pouch, waterskin 5 days rations, bedroll, flint and steel, white pullover robe, hanbo, 2 spell component pouches, 12 gold pieces unspent.

I will have more tomorrow Ry, as its almost 1:30 am for me, but here's the basics:

Name: Dairkal

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Concept: Young Halfling trickster and juggler, who until recently was a wandering performer. Now he's settled down in Sandpoint and performs most nights.

Group Role: lots of sneak attacking and general sneakyness mixed with some social skills.

Class and Archetypes Currently thinking Swashbuckler Rogue, but I might change that based on UC. Very likely to go Shadowdancer, not positive however.

Race Halfling

Backstory:
Born with an odd shaped birthmark in the rough shape of the holy symbol for Desna, Dairkal(Halfling for mischievous fox) has always been lucky. Lucky that he never got into too much trouble when he was caught stealing toys from the other children, lucky that his parents and the rest of his villagers didn’t banish him from the town when he was stealing kisses from the girls and lucky that he was talented: Dair, as the girls liked to call him, could juggle like no other. When it was obvious he was too much trouble to keep in town unwatched, the village elders apprenticed him to a wandering gleeman that often stopped in their town.

The youth took readily to his mentor’s teachings, learning how to incorporate his natural agility into his juggling act, how to spin forth stories that could make his audience cry or laugh and most importantly, how to steal and not get caught. The two travelled over much of Varisia, making a fair amount of money, friends and of course a fair amount of enemies. However, as when he was young, it seemed Desna favored this rakish Halfling and his luck got the two troublemakers out of plenty of tight spots.

After nearly nine years on the road, Dair has decided it was time to find a steady gig and took his leave of his old friend and mentor. The young rogue headed for Sandpoint, for he had heard that the small town had a theater and he could almost definitely get a performance spot. The people of Sandpoint, having dealt with the Last Unpleasantness and then their chapel burning down, have rather enjoyed the likable, lively Halfling and his amazing juggling act.

I'll deal with crunch and questionnaire morrow

Np on waiting for equipment, and since I don't want to have to hand-craft 10+ DM Boons you won't get that unless you're picked either. I would like to have your story hooks before but they are not a necessity. Also to point out, I mean the plot hooks to be more like 'something from my past that may complicate my future' than 'something to get me to Sandpoint'.

Good work on characters everyone, gonna make my job hard on me.

Ah thats what you mean by plot hooks. Well Rohan is from an exile from Hermea which is of course rare. One hook could be someone from the island could have left and followed me to Sandpoint, like a childhood friend or a rival. How does that sound for a plot hook?

Rohan Drake wrote:

That's exactly the sort of thing I meant. It's why I ask you to be specific with your backstories, the more I know what you want, the less I have to make up and the more satisfying that part of the adventure is to you.

Lantern Lodge

here is the rough character.

we could think of a lot of complications that come from being a younger distant cousin of Nualia and still trying to maintain a pure heart.

the hooks i came up with for Lumi are

her pure heart and sheltered life leave her rather naive and inexperienced. there are many things that could make this a hinderance and we can say that she has vows to never shed the blood of a sufficiently 'human' entity, but her vow has no protection towards goblins and more evil races.

and being Nualia's distant younger cousin can leave a lot of complications later in her adventuring career.

Okay then. It is a lot clearer now. I also had a crazy idea for the follower to be someone who his hunting him to preserve the mysteriousness and the perfect record of the island. Or someone has heard about where I come from and wants me to take them back so they can become a citizen of the pseudo-utopia. But of course, all my plot hooks will involve Hermea.

Gathered everything in a profile for convenience. Including full back story and possible plot hooks.

Thanks for your consideration.

Also, Vulf, thanks.

Here is my application for the game. All the questions and such have been answered but I haven't finished filling in the character sheet itself since I wasn't sure if the Campaign feat we picked was supposed to be our Level One feat or not.

Basically, he's a young witch who doesn't understand why he has the powers he does and is afraid of what using that power will do to him.

Of course, he really wants to see just how much power he's got at his disposal.

Dotting for interest, working on a divine spellcaster of some description.

Oooh, exploitable. That is exceedingly generous.

Very nice now characters even better :) having trouble with plot hooks though if you could read the back story ryuko any help would be greatly appreciated

Zelaria Quiatris wrote:
Oooh, exploitable. That is exceedingly generous.

As I stated before, I am a generous DM. Wait till you see the DM boons. Here's a couple examples from my CC campaign:

Varisian Tattoos(DM Boon) When you prepare spells, you may choose one of your tattoos to be active that day:
Vision: Gives a +2 to Perception skill checks. Once per day, may cast any Detect spell as a spell like ability.
The Idiot: Gain a +4 bonus on Will Saves vs. any form of domination or mental debuff. Twice per day may cast Hideous Laughter as a spell like ability.
The Theatre: One of your tattoos comes to life. It speaks very little, if at all, and only in a dry, half-joking tone. You know this creature is sent by some form of god, or creature beyond your understanding, and you are unsure why it has been assigned to you, though it always seems to be watching, and perhaps judging. This functions as a familiar using your level - 2 (Minimum 1) as your effective wizard level.

Linnorn Tooth Necklace: Chewing on this necklace in thought (and more often boredom) for so many years has let some of its powers infuse his saliva. Once per day, Olav may make a ranged touch attack, spitting at the target, that deals 1d12 + 1/2 of class levels (minimum 1) of cold damage.

Lucky Amulet: Once per day, when Ama falls below 1/5 of total health (2 hp at present) this amulet activates. It heals Ama for 1d4 + 1/2 Ama's level (min. 1) in damage and immediately casts a Protection spell on him. If the creature that struck the last blow was Evil, the protection spell is against evil. If Good, the spell is against good. If Neutral, the spell activates as either Law or Chaos. If a True Neutral being gets the last strike the Protection doesn't activate, though the healing still does. The amulet may have other abilities unknown to Ama at this time.

@Vulf: For one, I'd go with a rival. Someone even more angry about you trying to be in the clan than everyone else. Perhaps a half-brother, who blames you for killing his mother. Perhaps he was the one you fought when you tried to take the test to get a woman? I could also see the elders giving you a test, perhaps to kill a number of creatures much bigger than yourself (and hoping you'd fail and die) before being allowed to return. Tribal backgrounds are a little tougher, but still offer good stories.

I've been noticing a trend in recruitment threads of GMs asking the potential players to respond to a scenario to get a feel for how the character, and their player, acts, speaks, and writes. I do not know the impact of this on character selection in terms of being the guy who has to sit and read through it all, but, it seems like an interesting sort of idea, and may even help some people work through concepts and come up with hooks?

I know I typically feel a lot more confident about a concept after a few posts responding to other PCs, and I am the type of player that makes a backstory a suggestion and not a ball and chain, so to speak, crippling expression and development.

As to that... I have no requirements for it. If you'd like to act out a bit of the Swallowtail festival well... go ahead. Sounds interesting, and if it'll help develop characters nothing bad can come of it (unless I find I absolutely hate your style or something). So... can't hurt.

ok plot hooks up let me know if those will work :) looking forward to the game hopefully we can get in :)

Lantern Lodge

fixed Lumi's AC error.

i would like to know if you will allow her to have predestigitation as one of her known orisons. it's there for fluff reasons, such as staying clean, sealing small cuts on the local children, (think accellerated scabs) and the usual various other things, like changing the flavor of a particular food and minor things to impress the local children.

When Emerelda the third, Zelaria oft added to her distant cousin's name approached the booth, tugging at poor Andres Mortenson's wrist and slammed her coin down upon the table and demanded a love reading from Iolana, Zelaria rolled her eyes and excused herself. Her mother gave Zelaria a sideways glance, but nodded and allowed her to quit her study. Bjørn had recently been deployed as a guardian and guarantee of goods on a trade galley to Maginmar, and though he had never given them cause, Iolana was generally anxious about her husband's welfare. Zelaria kissed her mother's cheek softly, and deftly stole one of the coins from the table, assured that she would have earned it by recounting Emerelda's antics for Iolana's amusement. The reading, Zelaria knew, would be brief, like Emerelda's interest in anything that was not brilliant, dashing, and heroic.

Before exiting the booth, Zelaria adjusted the skirt of her dress, and pulled the cowl of her cloak up over her forehead so that shadow would obscure the tattoos on her face. Her brothers, sisters and distant cousins of the blood would recognize the runes artfully inscribed upon her flesh, but the festival had brought many strangers among them, and while Zelaria was curious to meet new people, she was slightly hesitant to identify herself so decidedly. Though there was a strong relationship between her peoples and innate magics, there were some, although mostly her contemporaries, that shunned Zelaria for her abilities, save for the few that were arrogant enough to demand that she tell their fortunes on issues of chance and love.

Zelaria enjoyed the sunshine and the din of the crowd, she did not prefer darkness and silence in the least. A set of charms decorating her right ankle chimed melodically with the rhythm of her steps. Bjørne had gifted Zelaria with the set on the occasion of her first year in their family. Whenever Zelaria felt alone, and the silence of their little house got too oppressive she would remove and dangle them to hear their music and think of him, and she would calm.

Moving through the crowd, Zelaria paused to watch a group of children miming a battle, wielding crudely shorn branches as swords and quarterstaffs. Zelaria bent a knee slightly to one side of them and observed, and after a moment to determine which monster they were slaying, used her magics to create a small representation of one in ether, which was easily dispatched by the displacement of the air by their passionate swings.

"Coooool," a red faced boy complimented, and grinned at his companions. "The heroes of Sandpoint!" he declared triumphantly.

Vulf strides along the busy streets not noticing the large berth people were giving him. Sometimes he would notice people staring at his tattoos and he tries a few smiles at them but fears he was scaring them.

He thinks he sees a flash of magic but his view was interrupted by the crowd. When he looks again he only sees a cloaked figure and a few children shouting something about heroes. He decides this is a likely place for a show and makes his way a slightly cleared area near a wall.

He shrugs off his gear and strips off his leather shirt fully displaying his tattoos over his torso and back. Drawing his mother's sword he noticed the crowd stopping to peer strangely at him. He just grins to himself and twirls it experimentally eliciting a few small screams.

Bowing to the crowd to calm them down he begins an elaborate dance he had witnessed in his tribe mixing it with his own combat style of swordsmanship. Twirls of the swords sends flashes of light as he spins and jumps, pausing one second to "slay" a foe only to jump off into the next dance step. Ending with a flourish kneeling down his sword held outstretched as if in offering.

Rohan and Copperscale watch from the crowd intently. The little drake sitting atop his best friend's shoulder to get a good view point. The summoner is rather quiet in his viewing while the little gold-scaled drake-looking eidolon hoots and hollers encouraging the "heroes" to triumph. A strange sight to be sure.

Plot hooks added. Everything in profile.
(I can totally change them if desired.)

On hearing screams, Zelaria cringes in response to threat, but thinking of the children, immediately turns her neck to determine their origins. She sees the crowd standing a bit away from lithe and heavily tattooed swordsman performing a deadly dance. Zelaria recognizes the hesitance of the crowd with his ferocity, and the strange markings he proudly displays. There was a time when Bjørn had frightened her as well, with his massive frame and flame-red, braided beard. She touches the charms on her ankle, setting them to chime, and cautiously approaches the group.

I've only a silver, Zelaria laments, letting the coin slip dexterously between her fingers. There were lengths of ribbon she had admired at one of the traveling merchant's booths, and a pretty jade pendant, too, but she had very little money she could call her own, and outright theft something only Sczarni engaged in. Performance, however...

Zelaria pulls back the cowl of her cloak, revealing her tattooed face, and smiles sweetly.

"Greetings, sir," she calls out to the performer. "Might I approach with a... proposition?"

Lantern Lodge

Lumi had just finished tending to some children's minor cuts and scrapes in the medical tent as she steps out to approach the 'show'. she seems to be moving along a crowd of children as she tries not to cause too much of a ruckus. the young maiden of pure heart has had a lot of trouble as a minor local celebrity. and she has been frequently asked to perform miracles that were beyond her ability. though she could ressucitate a dying bird, she wasn't quite ready to bring back a completely lost human life just yet.

Luminiere was a petite framed female figure who stood around 5 feet tall, she appeared to be wiry but well toned from the repetitive task of polishing altars. her ankle-length metallic sheened radiant golden blone hair fell down in a pair of twintails, her deep blue eyes hinted at a level of innocence that rivaled that of a newborn. she was clad in a white pullover robe with massive sleeves. her soft, delicate, features, slight build, and complete lack of scars or callouses made her appear to be a child to the untrained eye. for those familiar with the wards of the sandpoint cathedral, Lumi was a younger cousin of the missing Nualia.

she stares at Vulf and Zelaria with a look of Awe and Wonder from behind a group of children.

Vulf looks up and stands watching the crowd disperse seeing that the dance was over a few coins laying near his things. He frowns at that but seeing the pretty girl standing in front of him his day brightens a little.

But upon seeing her tattoos Vulf stands shocked almost riveted to the ground. This woman stood before him...and stood there. He couldn't say anything...but finally he gulped and reminded himself he had stood before men that were twice as big as him and won those duals to the death. Surely a woman, albeit a woman who wore tattoos as openly as him had to be something special. Maybe the spirits were letting him know this was a sign.

"Ummmm.....ahhh... Vulf coughs blushing slightly and then continues "How may I help you?" he finishes lamely.

Woman were kept apart in his tribe and he with his own past was definitely not accustomed to interacting with woman.

Curious reaction, Zelaria hums, and colors herself.

What you can see of Zelaria's auburn hair that is not obscured from her cloak is that it is worked in an intricate system of plaits wrought with brightly colored ribbons, predominantly shades of purple and pinks. Today, as it is a festival day, she has also woven some wildflowers into it as well. Her flush compliments her violet eyes, but obscures the detail of the fuchsia lines in the runes tattooed beneath her left eye. The main body of her tattoos is visible from the neck of her simple white dress, complimenting the curve of her narrow shoulders.

"I am... my name is Zelaria. I am a magician. You are a talented performer. Might I lend a hand and see if we might draw a bigger crowd?"

Vulf stutters slightly "Well...um ah Certainly! he smiles broadly and discreetly eyes her as he turns. Flexing slightly as he goes back to stand infront of his gear.

He turns back towards the girl and smiles again thanking the spirits for his good luck. His tattoos glow briefly archaic blue then fading back down to black so quick only people with magical sight would realize it.

"What did you have in mind?"

Zelaria bites her lip and reluctantly steps forward to address the combatant in less direct tones. Performers should not give away their secrets she reasons. She banishes lesser thoughts about the broadness of his back and questions about the meaning of his tattoos.

"What manner of foe do you believe best displays your talents?" she asks. "Children may dream of rising against the linnorm, but a true warrior is fully aware of his strengths."

After a beat, she smiles and asks. "I am sorry, I have not even thought to ask your name."

The duo notice the banter between the Varisian beauty and the Half-elf with interest. The little drake looks at his friend."That looks alot like you and whats her name back at the Rusty Dragon a few days ago. I recognize that kind of awkwardness anywhere!" He exclaims to the larger one. Rohan looks back with some mild annoyance."Quiet you. I only talked to her because you and that wizard goaded me into it. Though the tattoos they sport are intriguing. I'd never seen anything like them. I mean the sailors we worked with had some, but they weren't like that."He replies obviously noticing the glowing ones on the male. Copperscale hops off the shoulder he called a perch as the two walk towards the pair.

Zelaria is somewhat startled when another large male approaches, this one with over a foot on her tiny frame. Her violet eyes widen as she struggles to absorb the sheer mass of him, forgetting for a moment that she was closer to the first, and bumps into him neglectfully when she turns. Not particularly fleet of foot, like some of her more talented cousins, the charms on Zelaria's right foot chime madly as she darts about attempting to maintain her balance.

"Ah, pray pardon me, sirs," she begs, "My lady's queer sense of adventure seems to have ordained that I should meet with two exceptionally large travelers today." she chuckles nervously. My brothers were two as well, she muses, and flushes deeply.

the petite aasimaar resumes moving through the crowd of children as she attempts to approach the tattoed individuals. as there were no children left to provide her with cover, she approaches the trio. a look of awestruck wonder across her face. as she approaches the tattoed half elf warrior, she looks at his tattoos and asks may i touch them? with a hint of childish curiousity.

Vulf frowns slightly at the taller man and catches the woman softly helping her stand straight, handling her as gently as he could and steps up to the other man unsure of him. He wasn't intimitated by his size he was used to taller men around him however this one did seem different. For one there was that strange looking beast hanging around him, he decided to ignore it and focus on the woman.

"Are you ok miss?"

He then hears a tiny voice next to him and glances down, a childlike young girl is next to him asking about his tattoos.

"Careful if the spirits don't like you they might bite." he chuckles jokingly.
