Ok, here is where we start the ball rolling. I figure about a week before I would like to start the game off. Hopefully that's enough time for you to work with.

- 20 point buy
- Average wealth for your character class
- 2 traits from the APG or 1 feat from the players guide for this AP
- No evil alignments please
- Max hit points for first level, roll for level ups but minimum of half.
- Those who can make them are able to purchase scrolls and potions etc that their class would allow out of their starting gold. (So if you can scribe scrolls, you can start with some pre scribed ones)
- Please don't use the SRD to build your character unless it has sourced the info from one of the books I posted in the recruitment thread (some of the stuff in the SRD has potential to be misused or overpowered, and I'd rather not have the headache of that)

Please create your alias with details of crucnh plus background info. I tend to try and tie backgrounds into the game where possible as they are the best source for roleplay opportunities that I have found.

As you create them I'll go over them, but I've never been very strong on that area (I tend to trust my players with their builds). Feel free to help me in this if you see something I missed.

We'll work together to tie your backgrounds more tightly to Sandpoint over the next week as well. Mostly this is going to be me suggesting NPC's that might work well for the background you've already created.

Ok, guess I'll let you folk get on with it :)

Cheers

Female Human Cleric 2

Right, baby daughter is asleep and smiling and son has been taken away to play, looks like I can make a start!

Male Human Traveler / 8

Sounds good! I'm reworking a character I'd created for a one-shot pbp campaign that only lasted a couple of weeks. So the profile already exists, it just needs to be completely re-worked. It shouldn't take too long to get him built.

Looking forward to the game!

Hello everyone. I'm thrilled. Thanks Wrath!

I'll start working on stats tonight.

Male Dwarf Paladin / 4

Wander Weir here, introducing Feldspar Flamebeard, Paladin of Torag.

I still need to go over the profile one more time to see if I missed anything (it's a rehashing of a previous character) and I'm not fully settled on the Power Attack feat yet, but there should be very few changes remaining at this point.

Female Human Cleric 2

Background and True's code of honour to go but the nuts and bolts are done.

FW here, welcome to the other four selected, its always good to play with different posters.

By way of introduction, I am a 40+ year old British house husband and father of two, son (4) and daughter (5 mths). My wife is a career beauty lecturer and manager who used to play a nasty twin rapier fighter.

As for gaming, I started playing DnD in '81 and its my one obsession (although I do also support Liverpool Football Club and the Green Bay Packers).

Wrath Dm'ed me in his homebrew campaign last year and I currently run two games, Frostbite (a viking style game) and Legacy of Fire and I play in three others as a halfling cleric, elven warrior and healer/rogue.

That's a good start and I look forward to getting to know you guys better.

Cheers

Male Human 2nd Level Alchemist

Hello again!!

Many thanks for accepting my character concept. my profile's already set up with a Background and Statblock, but if there's any problem I can modify it as you see fit, heh.

As for introductions, I'm just some 19 y/o from the now troubled land of Mexico. T_T it's really the first campaign I've played in, both off and online, and in general I don't play much Tabletop, even though I honestly do love the hobby. what I do, of course, is read and gobble up as many bits of information as possible.

I'm truly looking forward to knowing you folks, as well as seeing how it all plays out. I hope to be not so full of fail, heh...but there's always room for improvement.

Male Human Traveler / 8

Hi everyone.

Following FW's example, I figured I'd make my own introduction. I'm living in the New England part of the US, hoping desperately to find a way to relocate to the UK in the next few years (making me envious of those of you who are already there). I'm on the downhill slope of my 30's, married with no children.

My wife, unfortunately, has no interest in gaming and I happen to live in a particularly rural area so I haven't had the opportunity to do any rl tabletop in a few years. Hopefully that'll be changing in a few days with a new group I finally managed to find.

Anyway, I started playing D&D in '86 with the Basic red box set. I moved on to AD&D 2nd edition which I played for quite some time before diving head first into 3.0 when it first came out. I was a playtester of 4th edition and didn't particularly care for the edition. After the break I mentioned earlier, I've finally embraced Pathfinder in all its glory.

I'm in a position where I spend a lot of time in front of the computer and need to seriously multi-task to keep myself engaged, so this whole PbP thing works out real well for me. I'm currently playing a half-elf Ranger in Wrath's Kingmaker campaign, which I've been enjoying thoroughly. I've been wanting to play RotR since it first came out and I'm really excited about getting started finally.

Nice to meet you all.

Tania here, still in progress.

Good night.

Male Human 2nd Level Alchemist

I actually got a question, but not about character creation or build: it's more about how exactly this'll play out. Mainly, in terms of dice-rolling, heh. I'm pretty newb at this, so just that clarification should be of great help. thank you, beforehand.

Grand Lodge

Hey, WW good gaming with you again.

I just hope this game lasts through to the end of the AP.

heh, I know perhaps it's not of much importance, but I'm willing to stay all the way to the end. never have liked to leave stuff unfinished and the like....and from what I've read it's a nice AP.

The Exchange

Algus, I'd have a look at Wrath's other game to get a feel for the way things will play out. His style is very immersive and filled with roleplaying opportunities.

As for the dice rolling, the easiest thing is to use the Paizo dice roller.

It works using a BBCode tags (which are all listed below a new post as you write it).

In the case of dice rolling, you write the following for instance [dice]1d20+9[/dice? and just replace the question mark with closing brackets. The other ones I commonly use are the bold one, the italics, and the spoiler to hide stuff from the other players.

If you reply to a post with a spoiler etc you can see at the top how they are written. Don't worry we have all been there asking the self same questions. Good luck and give it a try.

Cheers

G'day to you all. I'm posting with the Avatar I've created for this game. Any particular game information and NPC stuff you learn will go on this Avatars page for quick reference.

I see some of you have done the intro thing so I'll do the same :)

I'm an Aussie, living in Brisbane and married with two young kids (4 and 6). I'm a high school science teacher but looking at my options at the moment.

I've been playing and mostly DMing for about 22 years now, but only joined the DnD craze when 3.0 came out. I've PbP GM'd before (last year in fact) and found I really enjoyed it but had to take a sabatical to get my work/life/play balance in check. Now I'm back in the saddle and have things worked out fairly well on the balance side of things.

I'll GM this as long as I can, and have evey intention of taking it through to the end, but that would take about 3 years I reckon so lets not count our chickens just yet.

I've played with FW and WW before, and they're both excellent posters. The rest of this will be our first time together so I hope you'll enjoy it.

As FW suggested, check out the PbP section for my Kingmaker game to get a feel for my GM style, and we'll work it out from there I guess.

Must away, dinner is ready. More for you tomorrow (hopefully with Kor joining us by then as well).

Cheers

Edit - Went back and corrected spelling and grammar errors. You'll get used to those. My typing FU isn't as strong as it should be sorry to say.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Like that, yes? <_<

I've begun to read that Kingmaker campaign....it seems very interesting! makes me all the more eager to begin, heh. patience is a virtue, however; one I've plenty of.

Female Human Cleric 2

Good roll. Keep that up Algus and you'll do fine. Be nice to the dice roller and it will......no forget it.

Now to work on True's background. Wrath, I took the City Born (Magnimar) feat instead of two traits.

The Exchange

No worries FW.

I've had a quick look over peoples characters tonight and they look pretty good to me. No fine tooth comb or anyhting, but as I said earlier, I tend to trust players when tehy build their characters.

We're a combat heavy group it would seem :). I don't envy anything that plans on getting up close and personal with you lot.

Plus, every one can cast (eventually), so that should liven things up a little as well.

I was surprised with some of the stat arrangements from you guys, but I reckon you all know what you're doing. I've been reading to many optimisation threads lately, and very glad to see none of you went with three 7's in your stats hehe.

I'll put my mind to background stuff and how I'm going to get you all introduced later this weekend.

In the mean time, enjoy the pleasure of putting new characters together.

Cheers

My turn.

I'm Canadian, in its late thirties, I'm also in education. Have been in Science for a few years and decide to try administration.

Read and played D&D and WoD for a few years. I DM one game, replace-DM another, and play with Dax in a Second Darkness that has slowed down recently.

Bard will be a new challenge for me!

Female Human Cleric 2

Yeah, it would be good if others can heal, I could have built her as a ranged combat cleric but most of my clerics have high dex and stay back from melee. This girl will be different, the heroic style of her faith makes her more likely to lead the line and take some lumps.

Not very sensible but then I prefer each PC to be different from the last. Anyone is more than welcome to read over her background and stats, she will be pretty much "what you see is what you get."

Just so I don't feel left out, I'm a private maths tutor ever since I left education for a much simpler life.

Cheers

Regarding the combat heavy, I see it as a mixed match. I was wondering about a bard focusing on archer, but our ranger and our alchemist (and our wizard I would say!) will probably stand back and fire. Which leaves the paladin and the cleric, and me!

I'm also very curious about the arcane duelist as a viable bard alternate.

I'm still on the fence on many of my choices. I will let the sweet weekend bring some insight.

Giving Lev a 7 in our Kingmaker game was a very unusual move for me. I thought it'd go well with his upbringing but there are definitely times when I've regretted the decision. Feldspar's evenly distributed stats are more my preference.

To be honest, I prefer rolling stats to point buy, so I usually roll them out at home and then do my best to mimic the rolls with the points we've got, which is how Lev ended up with a 7 in the first place.

Anyway, I've also got an educational background. My family is largely made up of teachers and I do a little bit of training in my work.

Female Human Cleric 2

Dreaming Forged - Treantmonk has done a guide for bards. It may not include the APG stuff but I found his monk one very good. You can find it near the top of the forum.

It is called an optimisation but some of the stuff he says may strike a chord. I think I remember an archer bard build, for instance.

Cheers

Female Human Cleric 2

WW, i am about to start Souls of the Smugglers Shiv at my club on Wednesday evening and I have a new way of rolling up the stats. I prefer rolling like you but have never used it to create a draft pbp character.

I intend to get the six players to roll 3d6, 4d6 or 5d6 twice each and the subsequent totals will become the stat array for everyone, but they can place them in any order and use any race to adapt them too.

Cheers

Coincidentally, I'm getting ready to start up a Serpent's Skull campaign myself. My group is meeting tomorrow to roll up stats and we'll probably start playing sometime next month.

I'm thinking of having them roll 2 or 3 sets of 4d6, drop the lowest, place in any order. They'll get to pick whichever set suits them most. I haven't fully decided on that, but they're a little wary of having large discrepancies between the PCs and I'd rather they were a little more independent. Hopefully two or three sets of rolls will keep them from getting badly hammered and still allow for some differences. I'm still trying to make up my mind how exactly to go about it.

I have to concur with French Wolf (True Vigileon), Treantmonk's guides are a great resource. Follow this link to his site. The only drawback is that they don't include any APG material. Yet.

Oh! Idrian is ready. Though I'm still considering increasing my strength at the expense of my intelligence.

Thanks Wrath, and "Hi" all. I'm looking forward to this campaign. I am a married, 40 year old Canadian and I'm a PbP virgin. I have been roleplaying for... *sighs*... 26 years now. I have played a lot of Pathfinder and was very involved in the Beta testing.

I could actually step in as back-up healer: with enough resources and time I can brew up CLW potions....which is probably not much, heh, but I can also have them readied as Infusions later on. the Infusions could actually be of help in terms of buffs, as I can hand out (starting from Lv. 2) stuff like Enlarge Person and Expeditious Retreat to melee classes and the like....but from what I'm seeing, we're all some sort of caster class.

I'm kinda planning on staying on a mixed ground in terms of combat: if I'm buffing myself, I can just ingest the Mutagen for +4 to STR, +2 Nat. AC; then drink up Enlarge Person and Stone Fist....that'd probably only be in a really desperate time, since I already have a decent supply of bombs, and got a crossbow. so yeah, heh....I'm planning more for a bit of versatility and adaptability....of course, I'm pretty lousy in HP, so it'll be a rather interesting thing to see how it all plays out. <_<

I think balance wise this party will be fine. I love that folks are doing things that build more rounded characters, and as FW and WW will attest, my games are as much about social interaction as they are about combat. Well rounded characters will always do better in those types of games.

WW - I'm not worried about stats of 7, I was just making an amused comment based around reading a build that Mistah Green was throwing around in some of the discussion threads. He took a 15 point build and pimped out his caster by dropping everything to 7 except his int and dex. Those kinds of characters make me cringe hehe.

Ok, today I'll go through the charcters who are submitted so far and see how we're going. If we get this done fast enough, I'll launch the game sooner rather than later, but current deadline for me is Friday morning Brisbane time. So about a week. I think we'll all be ready before then though.

Cheers

French wolf

Spoiler:
True seems fine in build. I can't see any glaring errors.

Background wise, where did you see her after the news of her fathers death. I've got a few ideas to tie her to the town, perhaps she made acquaintance with Sherif Hemlock when he was just the deputy while the Chopper murders where occuring when she went for her fathers funeral. She hd to return for her studies before the crimes were solved though and now she is back to find out more.

Alternatively she may have missed the funeral because of church comitments and is only now able to return to visit her fathers grave. Her church has released her to now travel teh world and bring Iomedae's teachings so here she is.

I'm thinking of tying you and Wander Weirs Paladin together initially. His Paladin is essentially on a holy mission to the town and he would have had to pass through Magnimar to get to Sand point. As a courtesy he would have reported to teh churches there and they liekly would have had him escort you to the town since you're both traveling there.

Let me know what your thoughts are, andif you're happy with the Paladin bit, I'll let Wander Weir know so you two can work together a little.

Cheers

Algus

Spoiler:
I notice Algus doesn't have any clothes, just armour hehe. Will be interesitng for him to run around town. Better put some Artesins or travelers clothes on him. I believe you get a set for free, so no worries about costing them. Now I hink of it, I better check everyone elses for cothes as well.

I love the detailed background you've got for this guy. One thing to note though, you've got his main inspiration as looking to get to the mountain, but the AP may not take you there. Have you got a plan on keeping Algus inspired enough to hang around for the scenarios as they arise?

Also, lets assume he's been in town for at least two weeks or so. How active is he about the place? There are a few knowledgable folk around the town, would he seek them out to talk shop or is he more the type to have locked himself away and mutter quietly to himself over dinner. This may help me give you some NPC's to work with.

Cheers

Dax

Spoiler:
Well I'm hoping this one gets you through to the end this time around. Mechanically Dax seems fine (though check your AC scores, some of those were set to 1 when I checked earlier today).

Your background is nice, since it opens up a large amount of NPC interraction for me to develop. I figure as a bounty hunter and sometime scout for the area, you'd know Sherrif Hemlock. It's likely you'll know few local hunters or farmers as well (who we can work together to detail if you'd like).

I'm also thinking yuo may have run afoul of the local gangsters at some point if you've been collecting bounties. Might be some unfriendly folk in town for you, whihc may help explain why you've taken so long to settle there.

Let me know what you think of those ideas and I cna get you some more solid NPC information.

When I've gone over other folks charcters, I'll try to tie you to some of theirs as well, to make party cohesion a little easier to establish.

Cheers

I'll try to get the other three done tomorrow. Mechanically I haven't seen anything that worries me yet, so I'm starting to focus on getting the backgrounds tight and maybe having some of you linked already when the game begins.

Cheers

DM Wrath

Spoiler:
I've corrected my AC. I hadn't put much thought into who Idrian is friends with exactly. Other than a few named characters like Sheriff Hemlock, the proprietor of the Rusty Dragon (?; where the adventurers hang out), there would be some of the hunters, farmers, and local merchants. I figure I know that there's an organized criminal element in town, but, since my focus is mainly outside of town, I've been left alone.

Male Human 2nd Level Alchemist

@DM Wrath

Spoiler!:

*Clothing mods done! I actually thought that clothing was kind of a given or a default, hehe. it'd be kinda weird to see a guy in just leather armor, simple cloak and mask, yep <_<; so I added Traveler's Clothes.

*I would say that the titular Runelords might bring a more substantial goal for the man to stay around, but I've not read the AP at all, just the player's guidebook. the town itself would be a peaceful place, yes? having traveled for so long non-stop to this point, a rest would probably be needed, which brings me to.....

* at least two weeks of stay in Sandpoint, currently. well, considering he's staying at the Rusty Dragon, and seeing how the owner is an ex-adventurer, I'd say that he'd spend some time listening to Ameiko's stories and knowledge about her travels, as well as any adventurer's stories; even asking to set up temporary shop inside the inn, selling the usual healing salves and potions but at very low prices, as a way of thanking the inn owner. he'd leave the inn once every early morning to practice experiments out on the wilderness, since the incident on Absalom still lingers on his head, he doesn't want anymore deaths due to his reckless(but needed) experimentation.

I think he'd probably also gravitate towards any source of knowledge, heh: the mayor of Sandpoint and the eldest noble could seem like good sources of knowledge to him, so he'd try to interact more with them. the mayor, most specifically: since he'd need to alert her and the local authorities of his experiments out on the wilderness, in order to not alarm and panic the townsfolk when they hear an explosion or the like.

I'd say that the townsfolk wouldn't take very kindly to his stay on the town, heh. a man with a mask doesn't seem like a reliable person at first glance, and given that he's more focused on his own things, at times even just muttering new theories and arguing with himself, he'd be something of an unsettling event in the town. the people that frequent the Rusty Dragon would probably get a more clear view of the man behind the mask, heh.

I'd say he's been around town for about a month and a half, just to get a sense of familiarity on the setting.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
so that's my take on your three points, Wrath. hopefully this helps set up something more cohesive, heh.

The Exchange

That's all fine, Wrath. I'll build it all in when I complete the background, especially the tie in with WW.

Cheers

Tania's ready. (I know, I have a hard time figuring out her avatar pic...)

Wander Weir

Spoiler:
Feldspar looks good WW. I like his background, its open enough to allow you to tie to the AP without me having to shoehorn bits into it.

I'd like for you and French Wolfs cleric to have travelled into town together from Magnimar for the beginning of this. That gives you about a week and a halfs travel to get to know each other before the events in teh Ap officially start.

I envision Feldspar having travelled to Magnimar on his way to Sandpoint, and as a courtesy he would have reported to the churches there (LG Paladin and all that). They have asked him to escort True Vigilon to Sandpoint as well so she can arrive safely. You and FW can nut out some details together if you'd like.

This gives you a connection straight away so we don't need to build that too much.

Also, you both will have letters of introduction to Father Zantus who is the leading cleric in Sandpoint, from your respective churches.

cheers

Dreaming Wrforged

Spoiler:
Tania looks good to go. I liked what you did with her wandering nature and the return to home. Let's have it so you left just before the "late unpleasantness" that the players guide speaks about. So when you return, things have changed alot (including a new church and some folk you knew having been murdered by a madman called chopper). I think you'll have been back for about a week before the festival starts, and you've reconnected with some folk.

Ameiko, She runs the Rusty dragon and left to go adventuring about the same time you did.

Cyrdak Drokkus - Runs the local theatre company, You'd have done some perfomrances with him as a young lass doing local prodctions I reckon, and he'd be happy to see you back.

Your father is also an obvious tie to the place.

Also, you'd know Jo'No our group wizard, since he wwas raised as an orphan boy in town. You and he can work out how well you got along etc.

I'm sure there's more that'll we throw in as we go.

cheers

Kor

Spoiler:
Jo'no looks good to go. His background is nice and complex, and it gives me some ties to the folk in town.

He'd know both Sheriff Hemlock and his brother Garidan Viskali as they are both local Shoanti tribesmen. Garidan tries to keep the traditions alive, while Hemlock has embraced civilisation fully. How you get on with them is up to you.

Also, there are a number of wizard types in town, including your mother it would seem. I suspect you would get on with the local cartgrapher (Veznutt Parooh - Gnome with some wizard ability) and the towns teacher Ilsoari Gandethus (quite a competent wizard and likely someone to have taken some hand in your raising early on as he runs the local school and orphanage.)

Those are only suggestions, you can have as much or as few ties with those folk as you'd like but it will help tie you to the town well.

Also, I think you'd know Tania, our bard, as she was raised in town as well. Work with her to see how much you two get along or not. cheers

And something for all -make sure you include a set of clothing in your gear, either travellers garb or artesans clothes, possibly cleric vestments, somehting that makes sense for your character. Describe them as you see fit, they're a free thing at creation. Just no nobles gear :).

Getting close now. Some of you can work together to see how well you are connected. Dax, Idrian is probably the only one who will start not knowing the others at least passingly. I think his connections to both the sheriff and Ameiko(Rusty Dragon owner) will be my hook to get you and the others together.

Cheers

Female Human Cleric 2

True's background is pretty much ready for inspection, Wrath. I've changed her avatar because the previous one didn't look strong enough, this one looks like she may be strong enough to me.

All I need to do now is sort out a description and fill in any further details on the journey to Sandpoint based on whatever you and WW come up with.

Cheers

Jo'no:

Wrath mentions that our backgrounds could be tied. Reading yours, I would suggest we used to play "Thassilon Tomb Raiders" when we were kids. I would have left Sandpoint before you I think, so we probably exchanged letters for a short while, then I didn't hear from you when you moved to the Plateau. What do you think? Any other idea?

Wrath:

I can also see a link with True. Perhaps my father took me to them when I was ill. I might have stayed a few days living with them and playing with True while under their care.

The Exchange

M

Well, I've got my RL game on tonight, so no time at the moment to roll things along any more. I'll most likely get this started tomorrow night, when I get home from work.

Mechanically wise we're all fine. Still a few things to sort background wise, but I believe we can sort those as we play easily enough.

Cheers

Male Orc!!!! Level 18 Orc King

I just finished working night shifts now. I'll have time tomorrow to add in any of the requested filler on my background, as well as how I know Tania.

The Exchange

Wander Weir/Wrath

Spoiler:
Included in True's background now is a thumbnail sketch of her appearance and personality. I think she is almost paladin-like and may get on well with Feldspar, so long as he doesn't expect too much fun and laughter from her. She is a bit dry and humourless so the journey to Sandpoint may prove a long one for the pair except when discussing the merits of their two religions and their similarities.

Male Human Traveler / 8

Man, it was a busy weekend. Sorry to be slow to respond!

Wrath and FW:

I think it'd be great for Feldspar and True (love the name, btw) to know each other and travel together. From the looks of things, they'll get along quite well. Feldspar would certainly have offered his courtesies to the appropriate churches. He'd also be more than happy to act as escort for True Vigilon.

FW: Feldspar has lived a very sheltered life, so while he'd be friendly and courteous with True, he'd not know what to expect of a cleric of another faith and race. So he'll be rather reserved as well and definitely be willing to accept her at face value. Being uncertain of how to talk to an outsider, he'd probably default to questions of religious details and show a great deal of interest in the differences and similarities between the two faiths. Mainly, he's grateful that if he is travelling out in the great world beyond his home church, at least he has someone of relatively like mind to travel with.

Tania:

I like the idea that we played together as youth. I also would have enjoyed hearing the stories of ancient Thassilon and probably "invited" myself to your home so I could hear your mother speak the tales. If there were any tomes or written accounts of Thassilon in town, we probably would have read them together. When you started to learn ancient Thassilon I would have been busy learning Shoanti. I would have asked you to promise to teach me someday when you had a good grasp of the language.

You might have also been one of the first people I would have shown some of the cantrips my mother taught me to cast.

Although Jo'no understood your reasons for needing to leave, he missed your friendship greatly. Your leaving sparked his interest in leaving also to seek out his people on the Plateau.

Wrath:

I have added a "Contacts" section to the end of my character info now where I have briefly detailed my relations to the suggested contacts.

The Exchange

No start tonight sorry to say. My wife is writing job applications and needs the computer. Will type what I can and open game thread tomorrow.

You'll be starting with the following combinations already together
Jo'No, Tania and Algus at the Rusty dragon. You know each other somewhat with Algus having most liikely spoken to Jo'no a little and inadvertantly meeting Tania

Idrian, Feldspar and True will be starting together. Meeting outside the temple and basically being "palmed off" by Father Zantus and Sheriff Hemlock as they are too busy to show you around town much.

Sorry for the extra delay, but RL demands on a shared PC tend to trump my hobbies hehe.

Got computer problems, will post when its sorted.

Male Human 2nd Level Alchemist

Now that we've been given a starting point...

@Jo'No:

How fleshed out would our interaction be? Algus is a curious type of guy: asking always questions about adventures and discoveries, as well as any mystical or magical lore.

He would probably bombard Jo'No with questions; seeing how he's an arcane user, and a native of Varisia, he'd probably be thrilled to just ask away about your abilities, the culture, and most importantly, he'd ask about any information regarding his current goal: Hollow Mountain.

It all depends on how long you've been staying in Sandpoint at the beginning of the adventure, if you've just arrived at the Rusty Dragon it'd make sense for Algus to start his usual questioning.

just my two cents here.

@Tania:

Interaction here would also depend on how long you've been in Sandpoint at that point. Bards are also keepers of knowledge, with the stories they carry and whatnot: Algus would definitely be thrilled to know all he can about the area, as well as any good piece of lore.

if you've been around a week or so in Sandpoint already, then you probably already visited the Rusty Dragon, and Algus already did his round of questions on you. at that point the folk would probably continue about his business, but, as with anyone who shares good information to him, he remains in friendly terms and offers a drink every night, simply out of good will and friendship.

Of course, there's also the mask factor in this: even if the guy is friendly, the mask and mannerisms tend to spark distrust of Algus frequently. how you respond to his appearance is your choice; and again, also depends on whether it's the first time you meet Algus or it's been already some time since that.

Well, the game thread is up. Drop on in and lets get started. A bit of introductory roleplay to start things up and get you into character. I'll roll with whatever you guys come up with and go from there.

Cheers

My best wishes of health tp your family. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm glad to hear your family are better, Wrath. Please convey to them that all future multiple illnesses must be run by us players first.

Wrath - you mentioned playing on Monday nights, what adventure are you doing? are you playing?

Good luck with those chills.

Cheers

Will do FW :)

I play 4th edition Monday nights, and I dm for it :) (just can't get away from the screen). I'm running a mix of Scales of War and blendings of the Paizo AP's. It's good fun, and very simple to DM.

PbP is where I get my Pathfinder addiction sated at the moment, as my regular Pathfinder group are very spread in their time availability. We get together once a month if we're lucky now to play Pathfinder. Sad really.

But, 4th edition is fun for short game sessions (we get about 2.5 hours in on a monday night).

Cheers (and thank you all for the well wishes)

To answer your question in the IC thread: I love it!!!

Algus - A deal with the mayor huh, well I can run with that. Gotta say though, the act of using your potion to scare kids would probably land you in trouble until you had a chance to explain your reasoning for it. I'm going to say that the local Gnome wizard/alchemist in the area is vouching for you. (I've forgotten his name and haven't got my books here at this stage. He's the one who was overseeing teh fireworks though).

I have to say I laughed out loud when I read your plan to scare them off, it was classic stuff, and worked too.
