I must say, I have been surprised at the little situation with what to do with the Creedy's. That will teach me for leaving it open to your interpretation. I like the way the group are sticking to their characters, but I ask that we don't back ourselves into a corner where it suddenly seems silly for everyone to be still hanging with each other. Please consider carefully before putting in unretractable statements for your characters, at least leave room for negotiation at some stage :)
Now, I have a general plan to propose that might help resolve this so the group just doesn't fall apart at this point hehe.
Take the Creedy's in and deposit them at Jo'No's mothers house. she has a cellar that is lockable and most folk in town leave her well enough alone for all sorts of superstitious reasons.
Let the sherriff know the plan and that you have the boys. He will back your play on this. You can then investigate the leads you have as you need, for a few days at least.
The Creedy's will be very secure there, as long as you can keep it quiet.
Hope everyone finds that acceptable.
Cheers

1d8 ⇒ 7 +1 from Favored Class = 8 :D
+1 BAB, +3 Fort +3 Ref +0 Will Base Saves
9 Skill Points, hum. adding to...
Appraise, which gains +4 due to being a class skill and the first point I add in it
Craft(Alchemy), +1
Knowledge (Geography, Local, Nature, Arcana, The planes), +1 on each which equates to 5 SP spent.
Perception, +4(see Appraise)
Heal +1
that and I gain the standard Lv. 2 Alchemist stuffs...which leads me to the Discovery. <_< I've been thinking about researching Explosive Bombs...or the Feral Mutagen. I also thought about Infusion. I'll go for Feral Mutagen, heh.
in the New Spells front, I'm kinda confused. I read about the extra spells per day if you have a high INT, and it says that right now I have an Extra 2nd-Level Spell.
but on my Alchemist progression I see that I have no spells per day on 2nd-Level Spells at this point. does this mean that I can cast a single 2nd-Level Spell per day, or that I can't cast any yet 'till I, as a class, can cast them?
If it's the latter, picking Shield as my New Spell.
If it's the former, picking Barkskin as my New Spell.
I think that's all I need to figure out, right? still kinda new to this kind of progression. <_<

I like your plan Wrath.
It was a good debate though, and the cast certainly calls for it. I liked that the paladin found a way that seemed in line with his code and yet, open enough that more "chaotic" character feel comfortable with it.
Good RP. I hope it ties the group more, as Tania has a better understanding of each other's ways.
Also, I never got a result on my appraisal and knowl (local) of the bag that they were supposedly given by Kaijutsu.

I don't think that Lonjiku is a total innocent or anything, but I am amazed as a character and a player that some of us are willing to take the word of lifelong criminals about the duplicity of a respected noble. Anyway, in the interest of the game, Idrian will grudgingly acquiesce to Wrath's plan. He is a bounty hunter and mercenary, so some gold would help make it more palatable to him.

Ok, on the treasure thing. Both True and Feldspar are likely to donate much of their wealth to their church. I'll be working in alternate loot for them on that note, on par with money they give away. It's alternate to buying stuff at shops and more of a flavour thing than anything else. I'm still working out how to make it fit without seeming heavy handed, but I'll get there.
As for tracking loot, I prefer someone else to do that, since my time is tight and tracking the game itself is enough for me. However, if no one else can do so, I'll organise things so when I allocate treasure, it comes as easily divided parcels :).
At some stage this week I have to sit down and track your current wealth and xp. This will help me modify gold to keep you close to the wealth per level track. I'm a bit like FW when it comes to loot though, I never get over excited about it, its more a tool for me to add flavour to a game or help add a bit of power to characters who are struggling.
Cheers.
PS. Thanks DW, I had a great week on a tropical Island fishing and camping. We took 30 kids with us and hiked all over the place, got to snorkel over the wrecks at tangalooma and feed the fish from our hands. Caught a ton of fish up near Bulwer wrecks and let them all go (concious environmentalist and all that). Camped out in one of the biggest storms I've seen on the island and hiked everyone 13 km down the beaches the next day to get to our barge for the mainland. A great trip, but was exhausting. I averaged about 4 hours sleep a night and came home with the flu. :)

I have a three day DnD weekend at my house from the 18th March, which involves lots of background prep. As such I am taking next week off from the boards, i.e. 13th to 21st March.
I am sorry if that messes up the plans for True but my posting has been gradually slowing up lately writing adventures and drawing maps etc and that will only get worse.
We had a very good way of handling church treasure for my cleric of swords in Heathy's game. All his wealth that he donated, usually in the form of magical weapons, made his sword more magical (like a samurai's weapon in 3.5E). Not sure how if that helps here...maybe True's tithe I could total and that would go towards her shield and armour rather than sword, she is more protective and protector than stand out fighter in this group. 18 strength is pretty commonplace with us.
Cheers

Thanks for the heads up FW. I like the idea for the weapon, and will play around with it for a bit.

Dear Wrath
You of all people will understand this post. It's a shame but I have decided to stop playing on the boards for a long while. My energy levels and creativity have suffered alot since having a second child and my spare time has gradually disappeared over the last few months. There are too many household chores, DIY projects and the like which need to take precedence now. I may even have an opportunity to contribute to one of the 3PP companies in the UK so these games have to be sidelined, even the ones I run.
Thanks for the opportunity to game with all of you, but especially you Wrath and I wish you well in the future.
Cheers

I more than understand French Wolf, having been there myself and done the same. I've enjoyed gaming with you in all our games on these boards mate, and wish you all the best.
I'm looking forwards to reading some of the 3pp stuff you get to write for, make sure you drop in and let me know about them sometime if you can.
Cheers

Well, I see you've met Mark. I asked him to step in and fill the divine caster slot that French Wolf is leaving in the party. I've gamed with Mark a number of times now, and he's a great player.
Don't worry Idrian, your bowmanship is still essential to our merry little band. :)
Mark, when you have your concpet ready, post it in here and then we can work on a way to weave him or her into the plot.
Cheers.
PS, if FW manages to come back at some stage, I'll happily welcome him back into the fold as well. Just to let you guys know.

(posting this here in case it's not seen in FW's defunct OOC. Sorry for the thread jack!)
Sorry! Just saw this (that) post now.
I'd love to play in another of your games Wrath, but as you've said, am already in another Runelords game so being in two of them doesn't make much sense. So thanks for the offer Mark but congrats and good luck to you! (lucky bugger)
If you have anything else going on though Wrath, please let me know!
And very glad to find out you're back on the boards. : ) Cheers mate.
And good game to you all. You've got one of the best DM's on the boards at your helm.

Mikka looks good Mark, though I'm not overly good at checking all the mechanics and things are completely balanced.
Some background for you. (I've spoilered it, but there's nothing really secretive in there.)
Mikka has been carefully tracking back the source of what is causing them to bond, and her investigations have brought her to the area near sandpoint. She was trailing a smaller band in the Tickwoods when they suddenly went to ground. The beautiful young druid hadn't seen goblins disapear so effectively before, and she realised they must have picked up on something else to hunt. Moving cautioulsy fowards, so as not to get caught in their ambush, she stumbled upon the last moments of a battle between the goblin band and a group of humans from the town, or so it would seem.
There's not much in there, which really allows you to add details about your past as you like, and as creativity takes you.
This also allows me to introduce you almost immediately to the game :)
Cheers

Jo'no would like a shot at it too. From a roleplaying standpoint, Jo'no knows of Tania's penchant for running into the thick of the fray and he plans to give her the amulet to help keep her safe. From a player-cooperation point of view though, if people think that this is unfair that I am voting just to give it to someone else, then I will abstain.
| Wander Weir |
I'm starting a new campaign...
Let me know if you're interested.
Thanks for the notice. If I had room for another pbp I'd totally be applying for this, but alas I do not.

Heya all, back from a really nice camping trip :)
DW, thanks for the offer. I love Eberron and think your game sounds great, but I can't commit to more games while I DM two on the boards sorry. I did that last time I DM'd a few years back and it proved to be my downfall in terms of time management. So alas, I shall have to decline.
Good luck though, sounds good.
Cheers

Wishing you guys a good Easter. Hoping you enjoy the break. Ours is backing on to ANZAC day this year so we have a 5 day break with all the holidays. Quite nice indeed. I'll be marching with my Daughter in the ANZAC parade for her school tomorrow. It's her first time marching and I'm getting all emotional over how fast she's growing up. :)
Cheers

How about we move the loot discussion here?
potion of cure light wounds
Masterwork composite shortbow (+ Strength),
ring of protection (+1),
Amulet of natural armour (+1)
masterwork thieves’ tools,
masterwork flute,
silver earrings (25 gp for the pair),
9 pouches of gold dust worth 50gp each,
12 pouches of silver dust worth 5 gp each
18pp
I'd like one of the protective items for Idrian.
| Jo'no Screaminghawk |
Jo'no's AC is a whopping 12, so a protective item would be great, however since his tactics consists of keeping the "meat shields" in front of him, I would rather see these items go to our front liners: Feldspar / Irdian / Tania.
Tania/Wrath: You mention that you already have a deflection item. The amulet was the same as a cloak of resistance (Wrath mentioned it was like a 'cloak of protection' and mentioned specifically that it increased saves... however since there is no item called a cloak of protection I suspect he meant to say a 'cloak of resistance'?) Could you please confirm this Wrath?
Here are my random optimization thoughts:
Feldspar = our tank, so he should get 1.
Tania is our next person who usually enters melee, so I think she should get the other 1.
Just so we don't front load our main melee characters with magic items, how about giving the "Amulet of Resistance" to Irdian?
Anyways, I'll let you 3 (or 4 if Mikka wants in on something) decide how to divy it up. I'll just sit back patiently and wait to claim dibs on the first Staff of the Archmagi that comes along because I know that is going to be a big fight for who gets that :)
