Maybe that's what happened to the colony. The ankhegs moved in and the colonists kept rolling low. Boom, mystery solved.

Normally I'd consider it bad luck to ask this, but what happens if we all die? I mean, like all of us? It's still so early in the campaign, do we just restart with new characters? Reset to the beginning of this fight? Call it quits? Hope at least one of us survives the ankhegs of DOOM?

We found 4 healing potions earlier. You should certainly have Kal drink at least one of those.

Was the ship that we arrived on one of the potentially expected supply ships. Also I assume we know what the date is that we could determine when the next quarter moon is. Regardless of what the “next quarter moon” is that is mentioned in the note. My idea is that we should plan on this note meaning the PCs next quarter moon

There are a few podcasts I've listened to, mostly topics that get the brain juice flowing.
How do you make a homebrew? (I realize everyone has a different mentality on this, but I do like hearing other peoples methodology.)
I'm not sure about specifics...but I do know I find things like "You must have a cleric and a fighter in every group" to be a rather quick turn off of me. I am a big believer in player choice and see the roles as Anvil, Hammer, Arm.
