Interesting how some characters have a mind of their own. :)

DM Goldstool |

Post coming on Saturday evening, EST! Sorry about the delays, it has been 2nd Semester Senior Midterms for me, but I seemed to have gotten through them and am now beginning Spring break.

Seth Varianna |

I know the pain. I had almost all of my exams two weeks ago, and they lined up with my school's career fair. Not a fun week in the slighest. Anyway enjoy your break, looking forward to mine in a week.

DM Goldstool |

Will be starting the next week of intersession shortly. If there is any event that I forgot, please send me a PM or post here.
The next "All-Player" event will be the Charity Auction during next intersession, if you choose not to attend, I can arrange something special for you. I think I got everyone a link there though. This is planned to be Gill's introduction to most of the party and a further link to some of the friends you have all gathered.

Regarding something that Marcus said:
This is a homebrew setting, and as such, many things in the game either haven't been established or not given attention yet. This isn't Golarion, and I am limited in what I can do to establish the world. In such a game, I take the "Yes, and" rules of improvisation to heart. If something in game is reasonable and not contradictory to previously established lore, I am all for player established ideas/canon.
For example, things that were made because of player actions/decisions, at the top of my head:
- Durendale Guard Special Forces did not exist until Raphael made it a part of his character. Now there are a couple plot points related to such organization. It might even come to haunt the players, or have a major role in the future.
- Influence of Sarenrae did not exist until the creation of a particular character's contact. I have minor deity influences, as at the time of this game's creation, I knew little of Golarion's deity's / lore.
- Many NPCs were influenced or changed to be similar or contradictory to some player classes. For instance, Caroline de Beaux turned into an Oracle because of our groups favorite Oracle. Ernest Stoneheart was made for Valentina (still miss you, Grand Moff Vixen), Blair Rey for Nishara.
If you think something may be overstepping, you can always send me a PM or post here to establish things in lore. I want to stress I think this is our game, not mine. I've had to create lore for bars, kitsune (haha, why Kitsune though, there are no kitsune here), Oracles and their prevalence, Lawyers and laws, Mercenary Missions, constructs, and other things I don't want to mention yet.
To tie back to Marcus, you can say you support the "Ratfolk Freedom Front," or "Durendale Citizens against Oppression Movement," or something along those lines. With a quick PM or discussion post, I am more than willing to establish your agendas and affiliations.

DM Goldstool |

Post should be up either tonight or tomorrow, I've been a bit delayed in finding the time to sit down and type from a particularly busy senior year's work piling up.

DM Goldstool |

Next set of posts will be going into the next intersession, if you have existing things going, you can wrap them up or leave them running for a short while if you don't mind juggling time.
I'll need a few days to prep the weekly papers, track events, and prepare the auction event. I want a varied list of guests, known and to-be known, if you have anyone you'd like to see, send me a PM and I'll see if they can make the event.

DM Goldstool |

Ultimate Intrigue came out today, it is my first day-one Paizo purchase. I already see a couple character conversions for the NPCs taking place with some of the new archetypes. I even have a couple new NPC ideas from the classes (Impervious Messenger/Masked Performer Bard, Dandy Ranger, a couple mesmerists, a few rogues, Secret Broker, Intrigue Oracle Mystery could be nice for someone). Some of the feats are pretty good here too, at least for a social setting, like being able to grasp two individuals relationships with a DC 20 Sense Motive.
Social combat rules look fun, and I will enjoy reading the tons of pages of GMing intrigue tools. Anyway, if you plan on buying it, tell me what you think. I think it has neat things across the board, and Ive only skimmed it thus far.
Post up tonight, in an hour or two most likely.

Sorry for lack of posting. I've been working a lot of hours fixing problems at work and haven't been able to find the time. I hopefully will be in a better place to do that tonight. (maybe after GM Goldstool?)

DM Goldstool |

My computer died shortly after posting, please excuse any typographical errors i wasn't able to fix from missing the edit window.

DM Goldstool |

Post coming later today, will be starting the auction as well as responding to any existing posts. You may divvy up your actions pre/post event however you wish. In case something happens, it might be good to save one of yours, or a contacts.
In addition, I'll be asking you to choose what gear/weapons/mercs/animals/what-have-yous to the event. You can certainly come armed, given the attacks still fresh on your mind, it might be a good idea.

DM Goldstool |

Everyone's intersession page had been updated in some regard. Will be implementing Organizational Influences from Ultimate Intrigue some time in the future, as of now, some are already getting boons based on who they've assisted (check your pages, Raph/Gill). Eventually I'd like all the organizations and even individual social pahes statted up formal like, but that might not be for a while.
Everyone's Action History page has been updated with all of there actions. I will be maintaining this more vigilantly as the game goes on. Just general summaries of what you did (Met with X, Questioned by Guard Detective Francis Albert, Purchased property) to provide brief reminders. It isn't for bookkeeping, but will at least get be a nice refresher.
All those pages are found on your individual pages, at the bottom. The links should all read "Action History" or something similar. You should be able to also add "/Action-History"to your URL and go there as well.
I'll be updating things on the site over the next few days. Updating or adding new NPCs, making a faction guide, a few individual quest lines.

Hmm I suppose my and/or my contact's action to research whether the city has PR experts and whether or not there are any more avenues available for adding more types of alcohol to my bar could have happened last week
If I find a PR person could I meet them at this party?
Also could I get another link to my intercession page?

Halcyon d'Orsay |

I've been busy with a new class to teach, with a lot of students. Had to spend tonight grading instead of updating my PBP characters. I'll try to get something posted tomorrow morning or afternoon.

DM Goldstool |

I have PMed you the url, don't want prying eyes to get to it.
No worries, Halcyon, busy week for many people it seems like. Getting to the final stretches of Senior Year, I'm enjoying the ability to post while I can. May will certainly bring pauses.

Preliminary knowledge rolls
know(noble): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
know(local): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Since Lionel didn't have listed what kind of knowledge roll was important for him I just rolled both
Hmm, I think the Slyph is more Marcus' style anyway. Also, poo I very nearly made the final spoiler for her
Heck I'd have made that with a simple aid another check or masterwork items type bonus and would only be one off with guidance
Noticing these types of things amuses me.
Three final questions:
One: would it be possible to use unused actions to boost the income of my business
Two: could I have my alchemists roll to see if they can make a successful magical alcohol?
Three: could I have a few of my more expensive bottles for sale at the auction?
With that I leave you with a promise to post within the next 24 hours.

DM Goldstool |

Post coming either later tonight or tomorrow, lovely that everyone is interacting with each other.
I'm unsure how well the alchemist could successfully make a brew, and your alchemist isn't remarkably talented. While they might be somewhat related crafts, I think his skills fall short here. Maybe something like forming a potion of Enhance Water, or a magical item capable of casting the spell.
As for the bottles, looking at Paizo's food and drink section, I see 30gp as the most expensive alcoholic beverage. That said, we can say you have something more expensive, like adding the masterwork template to an item and adding to the value. I think we'd have to cap out an items price at around 80-100gp

DM Goldstool |

Need to make a dice roll to see how events go, please ignore.

DM Goldstool |

I thought that was the case for her name, but I couldn't miss the chance, too funny not to take. Had the post ready and even waited until the editting period ended ;)

DM Goldstool |

Post coming up tomorrow afternoon. Starting it now, but doubt I'll have it done before I must return to my bed. Thanks for everyone for your patience. I cannot wait until my spare time clears up and I can post more often.
Perhaps in the future I'll post responses quicker as to not reply to 4/5 posts at a time.

Halcyon d'Orsay |

I've been AWOL all weekend. I'll try to get caught up this afternoon/evening.

DM Goldstool |

Vigilante is crazy for a game like this, same with some of the archetypes in the book. Not sure how a vigilante kitsune would work, your effective four forms (Social and Vigilante Kitsune, Social and Vigilante Human) would be a weird thing to juggle disguise bonuses.
I've had a lot on my plate recently, seldom have more than a half an hour of free time each day. Luckily in less than a month is is all over. Post will come up tomorrow, luckily Fridays usually end early for me.

DM Goldstool |

If there are any reasonable magical items that you have your eyes on that are somewhat in your price range, feel free to send me a PM to see if I can work them into the auction. Can't make guarantees, but if you have something planned, now may be a time to get it rather cheap (and help charity while you do).
I'd prefer PM's as so what is in the auction doesn't become apparent as to who wants what. Also, then there isn't a perceived "claim" to an item, and I can pit you against one another ;)
I already have a few items ready, some in mind with some of you, others just a grab bag that may be useful. That will be beginning shortly, possibly starting in the next series of posts (or the ones following at the latest).

DM Goldstool |

I am still alive!
Classes are finally over (game written, script completed, papers mostly finished!), finals week of my last college semester began today, should be able to get something by tomorrow, possibly earlier if stars align. In a couple weeks time, my life should normalize and allow for a more regular, scheduled postings.
Sorry you started playing right as my busiest time in my life began, Gill ;) glad you've stuck through this!

Its no problem Goldstool. I have finals next week, so I feel your pain. Good luck with all of your tests!

No worries, Goldstool. The quality of your GMing is well worth the wait. Best of luck on your tests. :)

Raphael Montefiore |

Hi, still here. Just crazy busy at work and having had folks visit it has been difficult to find time to get a post together. I had set aside time tonight, but it's now late and I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. I'll definitely get something up tomorrow afternoon!

DM Goldstool |

Whats that you say: a post without a day or two of warning/prediction? How can this be? Who has replaced your DM? The world will never know.
I am graduating on Sunday, again I thank everyone for sticking around this long, this adventure wouldn't be how I want it without you all around ;) I should be a bit better about posting in a more timely manner, though this weekend + Monday will be a bit iffy for me given the times.
To those who have told me what items you might want at this event, I haven't forgotton, worry not. To those who have not, it isn't too late! Send me a PM (as I don't want people thinking someone was made for you in particular) and I'll see what I can do.

It is impressive that you've done as much as you have while going to school. I've seen so many games die because the GM eventually posts something like, "School is taking up too much time, so I'm going to have to stop being the GM" or players who have the same issue.

DM Goldstool |

I really love this game, if the hardest three semesters of my academic life can't stop me, I don't think anything can.
Planned on having a post by this time, but I've been unfortunately blocked by end of the year celebrations (finally nice to unwind), planning the next couple of months, attending other graduations.
They'll be a brief pause for me until likely Friday (unless a time presents itself earlier) when I return to my residence, and afterwards I should start resuming a regular series of updates I haven't able to do in a while.

![]() |

Sorry for so much delay
I got in a car wreck* so I've been a bit busy.
I'll try to have a post up sometime 3-12 hours from now.
*nothing too serious, went off road and messed up my transmission. Expensive but that's it.
Question: would casting bless water on alcohol or enhance water on holy water work?

DM Goldstool |

Enhance water says it doesn't work on magical liquids, listing unholy water as such an example. Because of this, I'd say that the spell won't work on holy water.
Bless water calls for a flask of water as the target, so rules as written, it wouldn't work. That said, if you have a flask of alcohol and want to convert it to holy water for flavor, and not for any mechanical benefit, we can pretend it's water in the flask. If abused however, I'd need to limit this, so be rational.
An example abuse would involve using an endless alcohol supply magic item ;)

DM Goldstool |

I'm just afraid you'll find an endless supple of Bless Waters as well ;)
Post coming tonight! I missed my bus home, but should have time later in the evening for a solid write up.

![]() |

Getting my hands on it would be difficult and hardly more useful than that would be under normal circumstances
Hmm maybe we could have my alchohol suppliers expirament having them grow their stuff with long term holy area spells on them
Oh cool Hallow has an instantaneous duration. OOO and I can tie a continuous daylight spell to it! That could potentially double the rate of growth
Hmm definitely something to look into
Alternatively there's freedom of movement to ignore difficult terrain or dark vision to let them work nights better, or endure elements to allow them to work year round, or aid or bless just for flavor.
One last thing pointed out by a friend
Holy alchohol has precedent. Priests bless wine all the time for sacrament. the Catholics believe that the wine literally turn into Jesus's blood (the rest of us generally think of that as a mostly symbolic thing)

DM Goldstool |

Yeah, I'll allow it then. I'm always weary with little rulings, I've had small rulings go way too far before.
Bless Water will work on alcohol of all non-magical varieties, however I'm going to say Enhance Water still cannot be used on Holy Water/other magical liquids as it is explicit in the spell's text.

Ok. I am definitely still wanting to be in this game, my work life has just gone a bit haywire... I got behind and it snowballed out of control a bit. I've set some time aside tomorrow to read through everything and get caught up and to get a post up, so I hope everyone can bear with me until then. I'm incredibly sorry for the delay!
