If Halcyon can use skills from he new occultist class, she could get an instant weal or woe reading on going through the looking glass. In the meantime, here is a quick 3 card reading:
Card 1: 1d54 ⇒ 30 The Joke (Int CG )
Card 2: 1d54 ⇒ 6 The Uprising (Str CN)
Card 3: 1d54 ⇒ 41 The Owl (Wis NN )
The past: The Joke represents a situation that can best be faced with trickery and deceit. Clearly this refers to the Man in the Mirror and his nefarious agenda.
The present: the Uprising may be taken literally in this case, as it suggests an overwhelming force that is stronger than us and can crush.
The Future: There is a natural force which can better deal with the Man in the Mirror, perhaps the druids represented by the Spymaster.
I would say this reading warns against going into the mirror, considering how powerful the sorcerer was and that she may have left traps. Probably best to lay the mirror flat to prevent egress and gather reinforcements or call the city authorities to investigate the mirror and arrest the guards.

I'm waiting for GM to indicate whether I can use my occultist abilities gained at the new level yet or not. If not, I'll post something like this in the gameplay thread as her parting words of advice, but they don't carry any GM input and are just guesswork. Granted such a method led me to think someone would be poisoned, which actually happened, so it may be accurate.
Halcyon d'Orsay
Until the GM gets back, there's not much point in trying to move things forward, so I'm just waiting for that.

Yes. Additionally, you have that new spell list to work off of. Sorry I didn't get to responding too this earlier.
Half my games I am now caught up with and ready to keep playing, hopefully will make it 3/4 by the end of tonight with this.

Sorry about the delay, everyone, the post-finals season is when our workload picks up like crazy.
Going to be a brief pause for family and vacation until a bit after the third. Might be able to get something up if a day frees up, but we will see.
Everyone have a happy holidays, and if I don't make a post before it happens, a wonderful new year :)
DM Goldstool
Post should be up tomorrow! Compared to the rest of this winter vacation time, I have a surprisingly free New Year's Eve!

Want Halcyon to give you a card reading? New Year's Eve parties can be fraught with unsuspected dangers, as she well knows.
DM Goldstool
Happy New Year all!
I'm afraid I jinx'd it by saying something, but getting a post up tomorrow is my first goal for the New Year.
Halcyon's card readings have been surprisingly on-point these last two years, so long as the cards drawn aren't "The Liar," "The Sickness," and "The Betrayal," I'd be honored!
DM Goldstool
Y'know, huh, I don't have a good response for that one, Marcus.
Sorry about the delay again, all. The pre-semester rush of everyone wanting to have everything perfect before classes begins is putting a huge strain at work, and I only get a couple hours each night after the subway and putting some food together.
Been picking up my games slowly, hoping to have this up and running again properly either tomorrow night or Friday. I'll keep you all posted, but I should be able to hold myself to that one.

Given this group has dabbled in various sound files, such as background music and character themes, I thought folks might be interested in a website with sound effects that can be downloaded (at least samples).
DM Goldstool
Preparing for an upcoming post, should be up in the next few hours assuming no distractions pop up.
Roll: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32
DM Goldstool
Sorry for the late update, this one proved longer than I expected, and my week shorter than I anticipated.
Please forgive any grammar mistakes - I think I've found most of them in my post-posting round of edits, but these posts now have me a bit past the usual time I head to bed.
DM Goldstool
I'd say that any characters leaving won't arrive until just after the combat ends. It would take a minute to get there, and these events are happening more or less congruently. It also makes it so you all are less able to interfere with your new fifth level abilities.
In the meantime, Evelynn, Estelle, Beatrice, Lucia, and Sinclair are still around. I'd allow a short conversation with one of them prior to entering that we can conduct now.

Just a heads up that I will be moving apartments over the next week and a half so my posting might be slightly erratic during that time frame.
DM Goldstool
I appreciate the heads up, Raphael!
So I am going to put this game on a brief hiatus, as I try to catch up with some life events. It will likely go until late-February. I've recently had some changes in the job situation as of late (good changes, but burdensome ones) that have me unable to post reliably. If you share some other games with me, you've probably noticed this inactivity across a few of my games.
Over this week, I had to drop a game I was playing due to these changing time restraints. This game (both as my first PBP and as a homebrew campaign) is very important to me, and I want to do everything I can to maintain it until some sort of rightful conclusion with you all.
I am hoping with a week or two to get everything in order I'll be able to return to DMing in a way that fits my schedule and is good for you all. I'll keep you posted as the gears start turning and this train starts rolling.

I understand the pain of Real Life (tm) interfering with gaming time. I'm happy to keep hanging out for this awesome game. :)
Halcyon d'Orsay
Do what you gotta do. We'll be here when you can get back.
DM Goldstool
I should be easing back into posting by the end of this week. I'll likely do some sort of wrap up and push towards getting back into a downtime scenario to gain some steam on.
If you have any final goals or things to do (talk to anyone remaining, investigating either active scene, et cetera) let me know via PM so we can move forward as cleanly as possible.
DM Goldstool
At this point in time, everyone can advance officially to fifth level.
Roderick MacDuncan
Welcome back, DM Goldstool. Unfortunately just in time for me to be leaving for 3 weeks. :) I'll be out between March 6th and March 24 or 25th. I won't have internet access during this time.
As far as proceeding with next steps, I think the only things of interest are checking on the success of the operation after killing the vine. Raphael also wanted to check on Estelle (Bellerose).
DM Goldstool
Thanks for letting us know, Raphael, we might need to make a couple adjustments to the plan for that, but luckily things will be going into individual downtime shortly and that shouldn't affect everything too much.
We might need to do some lightning fast catch up when you come back.
The alias caught me off guard, I was briefly wondering why Marcus would focus on Bellerose and not Beatrice until I realized it was you, Raph.
Raphael Montefiore
Woops. Looks like late night me didn't pay enough attention to the alias I used. My bad. :)
Halcyon d'Orsay
Welcome back.
DM Goldstool
Post will likely be up tomorrow evening! Thank you all for your patience!
DM Goldstool
One more day, that's all I should need! Started on the post but a friend had a bad break-up and I had a free shoulder that I offered to be leaned on.
Look for it maybe around 10PM tomorrow night, assuming all goes well!
Halcyon d'Orsay
Not that any of us has enough time for another game, but I just picked up a book that seems to have a pretty good melding of the Pathfinder System to the Steampunk genre of adventuring. I can't start a new campaign now, but if it gets to the point where I can, I'd love to moderate or play in a Steampunk campaign. Here is the book link: Pure Steam
DM Goldstool
And with that we are back! Raphael is likely away and without network, so I can play catch-up with him later. For now, let's wrap up the scene / the rest of your character's day.
Feel free to use the rest of the day however you wish after you are done with the auction house scene. You likely have enough to time reach out to any known NPCs, perform some actions should you need to.
Raphael Montefiore
I will actually be traveling starting tomorrow and I, in theory, might have internet access the next 24-36 hours while we're in Johannesburg. After that, bets are off in Zimbabwe. :)

Starting a week-long vacation and heading to upstate New York this week - my posting here will be erratic at best until next Sunday.
Stay warm everyone, Spring is almost really with us!
Halcyon d'Orsay
Sorry, but I haven't been able to post as soon as I thought I would. I've got a nasty sore throat and head cold that is taking a lot out of me and I haven't been able to get the energy to work on PBP. I'll try to get something up tomorrow.
Halcyon d'Orsay
I'm hoping to get posts up on Friday, once I've had a good night's rest and some breakfast. Feeling somewhat better, finally.
DM Goldstool
Yeah, Upstate New York + Boston haven't had that same warmth ;)
Glad to know things are getting better, Hal, no worries if it takes some extra time. I am on a bus now returning home, likely won't get back in until past midnight. Expect a post tomorrow, likely late afternoon, all!
Halcyon d'Orsay
Once again, I must beg patience as I go a while without posting. Should be the last week where this will be a problem. I hope I'll have something up no later than Friday. Then my schedule shifts back to 2 classes, Monday through Thursday, from about 8 to 3 PM. Should mean daily posts again.
In the meantime, please 'bot me as needed.
