He couldn't say it was impossible a disgusting goblin had slipped by, so he gave a nod, approaching his two companions. "I shall help too. We have to be sure these young are kept safe and that we've caught every goblin."

Varak would glance over at the ifrit, giving a chuckle and a slight smirk. It seemed she was still on thoughts of wealth from her search for Foxglove. He wouldn't say a thing though, only smirk and shake his head. "Well...in ready whenever to investigate."

Ethan leads you to his house. It is midday- his parents are not home. They are at their jobs. It is a simple house, with a large common area and kitchen, and private rooms for the parents and for Ethan. The rooms both have closed doors.

In Ethan's room, you can hear a low growling. It sounds like a dog.

Something else, from deeper in the room, with the sound muffled by multiple barriers, is growling in return.

Praetor follows his new friends into the child's home. Once inside, he hears a low growl that plays tricks with his mind.

Rather than brandish his unwieldy greatsword within the small confines and risk injuring any of his friends, Praetor flexes his burned hand that now wears the metal plated gauntlet and prepares to grab whatever happens to be hiding within the child's room. He stands across from Ren, and gives her a nod of confidence.

"Prepare yourselves."

Ready action to grapple any goblin or creature that is revealed.

Varak wouldn't hear the second growl himself as they entered the young boys house, but certainly wouldn't be so careless as to ignore the words. He would only crouch low and wait as sneaking wasn't his speciality. Only when they went inside would he follow, ready for a fight.

When everyone is ready, Ren tries to swing open the door. Staying against the wall so she is not in the doorway.


Ethan nods.
"Yeah! He's super cute and smart. I call him Scrapyard, because that's where I found him and my parents let me keep him and he's my best friend! And I'll run if you tell me to, sir, I promise!"

Ren, still moving stealthily, opens the door. You all see the room of a child. It is not entirely neat; clothes are on the floor in a pile, and the room has a closet, closed by a door. In front of this door, a small dog is growling. When you all open the door, it turns in alarm, but seeing Ethan and you all, settles down. It then turns back to the closet door and barks.

Chrona looks around the modest home and focuses on not touching anything. Whispering, "Does anyone feel kind of weird, being six adults in these peoples home, without their knowledge, and with their kid, while they're not here?" As the door opens she moves to grab her sword, then hesitates and starts to loosen up her hand muscles instead with a gentle massage. "I hope you were able to use the ol' Goblin ate my homework excuse kid. I'll watch the front door incase anyone comes home.."

Then she slips quietly into the room trying to avoid the toys and moves to where she will be hidden by the open closet door but has a good angle to stab anything that comes out.

Moving behind Ren, Varak wouldn't be capable of her stealth, choosing instead to be the focus of the goblins likely attack. He showed no fear as he went for the closet door, praying to Apsu to guide him as he moved to open the door and hopefully reveal their target.


Ethan whistles, and his dog obeys, albeit reluctantly. The door opens, and Varak and Ren can see that, perhaps three feet back, a Goblin has wedged itself in what looks like a small crawl space. Seeing you, it begins to struggle to move out. It will take a round of doing nothing but extricating itself from the space to be free, giving you time to act. The closet is small and no more than one of you could fit in at a time. What do you do?

Chrona looks at the simple unwashed curtains instead of out the window to the street. "Ethan, would your parents mind if I smoke?.." she turns to hear the closet door opening down the hall and the scampering of the goblin. "So there was one, what'da'ya know." Chrona then draws a cigarette and lights it with a flick of her finger.

Seeing the little thing pathetically trying to wiggle out, Varak would have to suppress his more animal urges. After all, this goblin would normally in the wilds have been an easy lunch for a lizardfolk to snap up. Still, by the grace of Apsu, he was obligated to give it one chance to surrender. Instead of attacking, the war priest would reach out to grab the little monster, trying to grapple it and tug it out. "Just give up goblin, you've been caught!"

Grapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24


The Goblin is without a weapon but lashes out with his tiny fist! It is clearly not trained for unarmed combat and exposes itself to Varak's strike.

Varak's grapple check provokes an AoO. The Goblin uses an unarmed attack, which provokes from Varak. Varak's AoO will go off first.

Our lizard is going in? I don't want to stab him and make him mad when he comes out. Maybe try the sap.

As the scuffle goes on in the closet Ren sheaths one of her daggers and draws out a sap.

After this round, for the rest of combat (or until this triggers) Ren readies an action to smash, with her sap, the first non-Varsk thing that comes out of the closet from her current hiding place.

The little Goblin flails at you (and I lied it's trying to bite you);

It is, however, not successful. It's movement is hampered and you are easily able to grapple it.

You both now have that Grappled condition. I'm going to move this more into a narrative than mechanic style; there's little chance of the Goblin escaping or doing anything other than minor damage to you. What do you do?

Like one would pull an unsightly weed from a garden, Varak tugged hard and removed the goblin from the closet, ignoring its little teeth on his armored scales that would likely never find a grip. "Knock it off before I hit you on the ground untill you stop moving. Any of you speak his tongue? I'm not sure if he can understand me," Varak growled first at it, then looked his companions for assistance as he held the foolish imp at arms length.

Pin to the nearest wall: 1d20 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 5 = 18

This is everyone's chance to work over this Goblin for any extra info or if you want to give him some special punishment. Otherwise I'm taking him outside for lunch :3

After Varak pulls the goblin from the closet, Praetor helps pin the foul creature to the wall.

"Who are you and what were you doing in there?" Praetor growls at the goblin. "Don't play dumb, I know you understand me."

Praetor peers back into the closet, searching for anything the goblin might have been trying to find or hide. Then he searches the goblin, removing any weapons or suspicious items.

The Goblin does not appear to speak Common. It gives you no sign of understanding and despite how much effort you exert to keep it pinned, it still thrashes and writhes in futile attempts to escape.

She doesn't speak Goblin so she'll do it even if it starts talking.

Giving a sigh as the goblin seems unable to communicate or anything, he'd carry the stupid creature from the wall and soon towards the exit. "I don't believe this little creature knows anything. I'm gonna remove it so it won't make a mess inside and take care of it," he'd tell his party, informing them of his intentions since it seemed they'd learn nothing from it. It's evil had been shown true and it seemed to eager for escape rather than accept his mercy. By the tenants and code of Apsu, these made its life void.

Unless any complaints are brought forth in taking it outside and biting its throat to end it.

Praetor puts a hand out to slow Varak.

"There is sure to be somebody in this town that can speak to this little beast for us. The other goblin prisoner could help. Let me wring information from him before he is punished. We have very little to go off, and I have many questions."

He stares at the goblin with fire in his belly. "Besides, the people of Sandpoint should decide his fate, it was themy who were terrorized by these creatures."

Praetor will stand between the goblin and the child. He had not expected to find anything, and feels badly for not trusting the boy.

"How long did you say he was in your closet? Since the raid?"

Chrona squeezes the remaining half of the cigarette in her fist and let's the ash fall where it may, "Sounds great! Let's get out of here."

With the goblin heavily grappled, Chrona heads outside.

"Don't be alarmed, this is a standard goblin eviction. If anyone knows or has heard of anything else please let the local authorities know. Now make way please, this will all go fast." She speaks to anyone on the street with authority, attempting to make the transfer swift by starting it off on the right foot.

Varak would nod and concede to not slaying the little thing until they could truly find out if he knew any more than the others did. It was certainly possible that this one was more than just another foolish underling. He'd carry the small creature from the house, offering the child a smile and a nod just before leaving. "Well done...you've done your clan proud," he'd tell the boy, offering high praise as they now escorted their prisoner to questioning with Chrona now providing escort. Varak would glance between the goblin and the ifrit now and then, chuckling in amusement at her enjoyment of being center stage.

Following the rest of them outside at a safe distance, Lackspell leads Ethan (and possibly Scrapyard too) along the street in the direction of the watch to hand the goblin over to the authorities.

Ren follows the group, trailing a bit but watching closely to make sure the goblin does not try to escape by running behind the rest of the group.


Ethan glances up at Praetor.
"About two days."

At this point your actions have been loud enough to draw people from the surrounding area. Several people are gathered to watch you drag the struggling Goblin out of the building. Some of Ethan's fellow children are gathered and gaping openly, hardly able to believe that Ethan had been telling the truth. The boy looks both relieved and a bit smug.

You are able to take the Goblin to the guard house. There is a cell next to Jareth. If you ask, Praetor, Jareth promises to speak to the Goblin and share whatever information he gains. Jareth does note that the Goblin is half-mad with hunger and will likely not be coherent until fed, so that might take a while.

At this point, you have the rest of the day to do what you wish.

Ren sees a crowd gathered as she comes out of the sheriff's office and heads down the other way. She works her way back to the Rusty Dragon and after putting her adventuring gear in her room goes down to the Kitchen.

Once the monster had been dealt with, Varak himself would go for another walk through town. He did his best to go down paths he did not use last time, his worship of the Wayfinder finding holiness in travel and exploring new areas to do good in. He hoped to find more willing to speak with him and be more comfortable with what he was. He wished for these humans to trust in him as a protector as Secsandevisander was to his clan.

In front of all the townspeople, Praetor will use the opportunity to commend Ethan and give him a gold piece as a reward.

"Ethan of Sandpoint, take this gold piece and use it as you will. You have earned it for the bounty of this goblin and your actions have made this town a safer place."

Once in the guard tower, Praetor will speak with Jareth. "Jareth, answer me a few questions and I will make sure you eat and drink well tonight. You might even be released soon, with my supervision of course. Do you know him? What was he doing in that house, was he looking for something? Are there any others hiding. Ask him."

I will speak with Jareth and the other goblin for as long as possible, prying for answers and information. Also still trying to convert Jareth to goodness in hopes that he will be some help to us.

After their discussion, the paladin will head to the rusty dragon and order two meals with rare meat and extra mustard and two cups of juice with a splash of grog, one for each goblin. "No need for fine cuts, trimmings and gristle is fine." He does not tell who the food is for, but brings it to the guard tower himself. He does not turn away from the disapproving looks some of the guards give him.

Wasting good money on these wicked little creatures. What would the Dawnguard think of this? Making friends with goblins... I should take their heads. I'm burning bridges for them... But why?

Once back at the rusty dragon Praetor will eat a good meal for himself and socialize. He does not drink this night.

Praetor, Ethan is thrilled with the gold piece. Jareth speaks to the Goblin for you. Not much information can be gained; the Goblin was part of the raid, and was separated from his group. He found a place to hide, which happened to be the house of Ethan. He doesn't seem to have any further information on the attack. Jareth seems to be becoming more friendly to both you and the guards. As everyone goes their separate ways from the jail, with Praetor staying back to perform his duty, Chrona finds herself alone in the street.

Heading back to the Inn after spending more than she had intended, Chrona slips up the her room the best she can though she is sure Ren caught sight of her heading to the service stairs. Opening the window in her room, Chrona pulls the desk underneath it to be in the natural light that pours in. With a deep breath of fresh air, she gets to work tinkering with the familiar instruments. Carefully cracking off some of the Obsidian she begins to form a ring.

If failed no materials lost as they are malleable. 1/4 of the gp in materials (special materials so they craft at half their purchase value) = 1 ounce obsidian (final value .45gp) and half an ounce of crystal(final value 3gp). I'm used to using unchained crafting rules, what do you prefer GM?

Arkon, Orz is able to find and bring down a stag in the forests surrounding Sandpoint. The animal weighs about sixty pounds.

Chrona, you find excellent tools and immediately put them to use, beginning to craft a masterful jewel.
