Note: the journal reads as though Tsuto had stolen Father Tobyn's body. Of course you all stopped him from taking it that first night, so Assume he's talking about some other 'sacrifice' that you weren't aware of. Obviously Tsuto and Nualia have been operating in town for some time. Bottom line, from the journal you gather that Nualia has made burnt sacrifices to Lamashtu in exchange for a transformation to demon-hood. And to complete the transformation she has detailed battle plans layed out before you to offer the entire town of Sandpoint. The major ingredient being the release of someone, or some thing, named 'Malfeshnakor.'

Maltheus |

Maltheus takes his rope and ties the remaining Goblins and secures them to one of the heavy tables
have you cleared the rest of the building?
checks his weapons getting ready to continue, nods to the dwarf
you ready
then moves to A16 and opens the door at Y-22

DM Owlbeard |

Area A16 is still clear. The empty safe sits open in one corner. One door to the North leads to a stairway that decends into darkness. Another door to the south (Y21) leads back the direction the original party came from. Yet another set of doors leads outside, and these are secured with a heavy chain from the inside.

Tinuviel Surana |

There are three darkened areas on the game map on this level still.
"Shouldn't we check all the rooms up here first? Goblins are nasty sneaky creatures. If there are any remaining up here they may very well attack us from behind."

Thumparr Ironfist |

Ask the gobbos where the girl is; they might know. And ye can lop off a few fingers to get yer answers.
Thumparr says this loud enough so that the tied up goblins will hear (assuming they understand Common). He shows them his hand axe and makes a chopping motion with it.
Of course, if the rest of the group decides to go downstairs, he will lead the way.

Thumparr Ironfist |

It'd be me pleasure, Thumparr growls, returning the grin and then walking over to the goblins. He grabs one of their hands and raises his axe...and chops down...into the wood beside their fingers.
There be a girl with ye master - where is he hiding her? Think hard now, me axe is thirsty!
Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

DM Owlbeard |

The goblins are tied up mumbling to eachother something about equality and fair trials and how much Varisia in general, and Dwarves in particular, should really update their goblin-immigration laws and Goblin's-rights statues and blah blah...when Thumparr's axe lands right next to their fingers!
she's down stairs, down stairs! Here, here, take this map, take this map! Girl is right here pointing to a spot on a parchment map that he hands Thumparr. Goblins good, see? Goblins show you the way! Maybe let goblins go?
The goblins' map shows the basement level (top right corner of the glassworks map. The Goblin is indicating the 'girl' is located in A22.
But don't use door next to that! The Goblin says snickering, indicating the door to A25. Unless you want to become dinner for Elyrium...
The goblins begin mumbling to each other again, and singing strange songs. You doubt they will be much more help.

DM Owlbeard |

As Thumparr turns the handle to the northern door leading to the stairwell a trap door under his feet is triggered. Thumparr Reflex Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21. He stumbles back away from the door, catching himself at the last second. The trap door slams shut as quickly as it opened.
You all hear laughter coming from inside the glassworks factory floor, where the goblins have completed gnawing through their ropes and are running toward the opposite exit giggling all the way.

DM Owlbeard |

Nothing in Boo's memory matches with the name Elyrium specifically. But you probably remember Lonjiku mentioning that his father had bricked up the smugglers tunnels underneath the Glassworks factory because they found something down there. Something pretty scary.

DM Owlbeard |

Stepping over the goblin's little excuse for a floor trap you descend the stairs and now stand at A19. The passage continues strait ahead. To the left is another passage, it appears it was until recently bricked up to keep people out...or to keep something in. The air is dank down here, moldy and wet. Not a fun place to spend the night.

DM Owlbeard |

Okay, left shoulder to the wall, so you turn left and go over the bricks on the floor? If so then you are now standing at two doors on your left, which the Goblin map indicate as A22 and A25. The passage also continues ahead over another pile of busted bricks and ends in another door, A21, before it turns right 90 degrees. So far there are no other nasty tricks/traps left by the Goblins that you notice.

Thumparr Ironfist |

My bad for not communicating more clearly > I was under the assumption we couldn't go around the bricks, and my post was meant to follow along with Maltheus and Boo, going westward toward the double hallway (on the map) and then looping around toward A20. But whatever works best, I'm good. :)

DM Owlbeard |

Okay that's fine, so forget what I wrote there above. Instead: You head the direction you indicated. The hall widens out. You come to the side passage on the left, which the goblin map shows leading to A20. Ahead of you is an alcove that contains a few burlap sacks and some kegs...

Maltheus |

there may be some rats or something useful there
Maltheus points with his axe at the kegs down the alcove and stands guard on the hallway going south to A20 waiting a moment for the rest to check the area, if there's no movement he moves to the door leading A20
when ready he nods at thumparr and opens the door

DM Owlbeard |

As the door opens and eveyone peers inside you see yet another horrible sight: the bars of a dungeon cell door are open. And there inside, shackled to the wall is Ameiko, her half-brother Tsuto standing over her--throttling her neck. The bastard appears intent on ending his sister's life this time, once and for all.
Tsuto is so busy he does not see/hear Maltheus and Thumparr enter. Payback time.
Sometimes I wonder If I'm really the sick one instead of my NPCs because I come up with this stuff!

Maltheus |

who is more damaged, the twisted or those who enjoy it ;)
we'll take it as a sign from the dice gods Dirkal! and may luck be a lady tonight
i assumed we got a surprise round on Tsuto and then we go to melee, so here's my init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Nixie's Sandara Quinn |

Tsuto after surprise round: HP(11/31) init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13. It's safe to assume you guys will average better than that so you get another round.
Tsuto releases his sister's neck (free action). You can see he is not at all confident about this fight. And Boo is pretty sure he's out of teleport scrolls.
Even if you kill me it is too late. My lover Nualia will soon ascend to true demonhood, and she will petition her new goddess to raise me from the dead!

Maltheus |

how F*** stupid can you be, what do you think'll happen to your body if you die here? i'll kill you if i must, this is the only warning you'll get
taking a -4 to deal non lethal damage
to hit: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
next one'll break your neck

Nixie's Sandara Quinn |

I know you think you do good in this world, Paladin, but who has done more good, you or I? If not for Lamashtu and her Monsters how could there be any good, any heroic deeds in this world? Indeed, what we are doing, what we are becoming, is the highest good! The roots of the tree of good! You cannot deny that we of Lamashtu bring out the best in this world...Were it not for us there would be nothing to fight, nothing to fight for, no obstacle to overcome, no mountain to ascend. Fool. Open your eyes!
I wonder if Tsuto is a democrat or a republican, HAHAHAHA!

Dairkal |

Dair chuckles, a sort of nervous little laugh [b]"Oh I am sure there's plenty we heroes could battle against, were we all to suddenly wake up to a world wherein Lamashtu and her children had disappeared from"[/i]
He then darts forward to slash at the man with his rapier 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Not sure if I can sent up flank with Mal, I doubt it.

Maltheus |

clarity is not simple-mindedness Tsuto, is grey your argument? you think good and evil are relative? good stands on its own and does not need evil to be its shadow, life has meaning on its own and does not need death to define it, if you cannot see the truth in this you are truly lost, know my name is Maltheus for when you are judged in the life after you can tell who judged you on this
roll for next attack when its my turn, dude, it be cool to keep talking with this guy, hope he survives a few rounds or gives up ;)
to hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Nixie's Sandara Quinn |

Yeah, he's a basket case. You are in charge! If'n ya want to keep talking to this dork, then don't kill him...but if I know thumparr, Tsuto's about 2 seconds away from a pumpkin-smashed head! haha
Meaning? What meaning do you think life has? One generation goes and another cometh, but the earth abideth forever! Put your finger in a glass of water, then pull it out again...witness how quickly the water fills in that spot where your finger was! This is how fast you and all your deeds will be forgotten! Do you remember who your own great-great grandfather was? Or what he accomplished? Even if you find his name in the ancient libraries of Thassilon and the chronicles of his deeds, is he any less dead now? Nay. Join the dark side with me. I shall take you to meet my mistress Nualia!
With that long winded speech, Tsuto attempts 'flurry of blows' on Maltheus
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Ouch! The Paladin takes 7 damage! That'll learn ya!

Tinuviel Surana |

"For a man who just killed his father and for a brother who is trying to kill his sister, you are awfully chatty." Boo observes coldly.
Would they know each other? She's been in town for about a month and has family here.
[ooc]Acid Splash[/dice] 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 for 1d3 ⇒ 1 damage
"I can do this all day long", she declares smugly.

Thumparr Ironfist |

Thumparr, obviously stunned at seeing Tsuto choking his sister, hurls his axe along with Maltheus, but it sails wide.
He then rushes in and attacks...but again, to no avail.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 61d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 101d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damnation > you need to drop the "slow game" from the title. And I'm serious about the dice roller - it hates me, and I f***ing hate it!

DM Owlbeard |

Thumparr Wow, I just realized that last time you logged on your computer was probably screaming at you that there were like 19 new posts...sorry. We can move slower. I've been posting way more than I though I would be able to. You sure do suck at rolling dice though.
