Having said that, Thumparr steps inside and immediately moves to his left, keeping his back near the wall while looking all around the room.


Eyotah nods at the dwarf, shouldering her bow and pulling free a spear instead. As Thumparr moves left, she moves forward, ducking behind the counter, waiting for the others to enter and for Thumparr to call the all clear.

Thumparr: sees no activity, the room appears clear.

Eyotah: sees a few accounting books and a quil pen, but nothing dangerous.

Thumparr continues to cautiously move around to his left, circumventing the room until he sees the two doors. He gets Eyotah's attention, holds up two fingers and mouths the word "doors" pointing them out as best he can. He waits for a few seconds before sidling up to the first one and listening...


Eyotah moves to join Thumparr at the door and leans in next to him to listen at it...

Boo sidles into the room. Kvothe is on her shoulder. As soon as she enters, she begins peering around.

Menelei comes in, looking around the room, curiously. The story of Lamashtu's influence would bother her far more, if she was at all willing to trust Lonjiku, and she is careful never to turn her back on him.

You can all hear the rumble of the industrial fires somewhere deeper within the complex, as well as the sound of breaking glass. Boo and Eyotah can also hear the infreq. sound of goblin giggles:(

Boo says quietly "Oh joy, the goblins are here." and then makes a disgusted face.

She then says

in Elvish:
"I do not think the nasty old perverted bastard would endanger his own children, how ever much he may dislike us. They may be in real peril. Let's be careful."

because everyone except for the old guy speaks elvish, right?

Thumparr sees a short hallway that extending about 20' before it turns 90 deg right. There is a door on the right hand side of the hall before the bend. As the door opens Thumparr can now hear the goblin giggles too. And also what sounds like a man's voice now and then.

Dair follows the rest of the group silently, eyes and rapier alert. At the door he holds up a hand to make the others stop "Let me go ahead a little bit. I can move more unseen than you all can"

1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23 Stealth, using Adaptable Luck

Dair moves with successful stealth down the hall until it ends in a doorway, noting the doors along the way. They are all closed. The sounds of rumbling, breaking glass, and giggles are coming from his left, through the walls.

Dair makes it to the red x on the map. MAP UPDATED. When exploring, if you tell me you move forward I usually move you about 60', just like old fashion d&d. If you don't like where I move you when I post it just say so and I'll adjust it.

The little halfling checks the door on his left for any traps 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 Perception. Once done, he reports his findings back to the group.

Thumparr moves to the end of the hallway and once his companions join him, he opens the door on the left (the one Dairkal checked).

Tinuviel moves forward as well. Kvothe sits on her shoulder his bright eyes scanning the surroundings. They are staying towards the rear of the little procession

Menelei sticks towards the back of the group as well, but listens carefully as they approach the door.

Thumparr opens the door revealing nothing but a storeroom. MAP UPDATED. There are some standard tools, firewood, other supplies. The sounds are coming from a vent in the ceiling, obviously being carried from elsewhere in the complex.

Leaving the door opened, Thumparr turns to his right and opens the door at the end of the hall without even listening.

Thumparr opens the door and finds a large dining room. Looksl ike the staff used this room to relax and play cards in off hours. The room is wrecked. Broken chairs, glass, food...nasty. There is an exit to on the NW wall and another on NE. Several other doors lead to unexplored rooms, see map.

It's at this point Menelei and Boo, in the back of the train, suddenly realize that Lonjiku is no longer standing with the party...

Thumparr enters the room, moving to his left, toward the door on the northern wall. He listens briefly and then opens it.

Thumparr opens the door to a beautifully lit hallway running NE by SW. Hanging from the ceiling every 5 ft is a different kind of stained glasswork chandelier or lightfixture. This is probably a show hall of the various kinds patrons can buy.

The rumble of the fires is coming from directly in front of him: the main foundry floor must be just beyond that wall. The closer you get to these fires the louder and hotter it becomes. -2 to perception checks. However, you can all still hear the breaking glass and giggles. Goblins can be very noisy.

Menelei frowns, looking up and down the hall. "That old wretch better hope the goblins kill him before I get my hands on him."

Unless I'm even more confused than usual, in the looooooong hall that goes from A18 to those double doors, having come in from A6.

Tinuviel activates her 'Detect Magic'.

Assuming we entered at A6 and are now in the long hallway, the cone of effect for detect magic should be pointing up the hallway in a northeasterly direction

Yup. you are at the door from A6 to the long hallway. So Boo just cast detect magic to the right down the hallway. Thumparr can face either direction he wants. I cleared the fog from the industrial fires too because it's obvious from the noise and heat that the foundry floor is through the wall opposite the door from A6. Hope that clears things up!

Detect magic reveals no magic in this direction. All the chandeliers are purely natural, albeit beautiful.

Dair finds his way to the 'red x' on the map. MAP UPDATED. The double doors of clear glass so workers don't bump into eachother while moving heavy equipment between these two areas. He is now looking on the hub area to the NE through these doors. Nothing spectacular is in this room. Accept goblin footprints in lime dust all over the floor. (lime is a primary ingredient in glass according the the AP)

Dairkal moves into the room cautiously, rapier ready. Once clear of the doors, he'll motion the others to follow

Just as you enter the room... nothing happens. You feel the door to the north is the likeliest route to the factory floor.

Thumparr moves into the room behind Dairkal, hugging the left hand wall and moving toward the northern door. "Let's take a look down this way, lad," he whispers to Dairkal.

Are the doors in here made of glass too or some other material, wood?

That particular door is glass. So looking in you see a LOADING ROOM. MAP UPDATED. From the AP: A wheelbarrow sits against a wall here and shelves on the walls contain additional reagents to create different colors of glass (manganese for clear glass, cobalt for blue, and tin for white; untreated glass is green while a high quantity of any reagent makes black glass). A safe on the floor hangs open. Perhape it held gold and silver: reagents used to make red and yellow glass. Besides the door you are looking through, another door leads to the foundry floor and is wide open. The other small door looks vary rarely used, although in the light dusting of lime on the floor you can see an arc shaped scratch: it was opened at least once recently.

"I say we check out what's behind the smaller door, before heading into the foundry."

He walks towards the safe and examines it thoroughly. Take 10 on Perception, for an 18

Dair easily notices a parchment tube left way in the back of the safe. Opening it reveals the deed to the Sandpoint Glassworks: ownership in full by Anjikon Kainjatsu and his heirs forever. Anjikon must be Lonjiku's father you guess.

Thumparr follows Dairkal in (assuming he opened the door) bearing to his left and sidles over to the double doors.
Can he still hear the goblins?

"Careful Dair - gobbos might have left a trap or sommat."

He shakes his head "Only thing they left is a deed for this place. Might come in handy later. Let's check this smaller room first, just in case. I'd hate to leave something useful behind"

"Sounds like a plan," Thumparr says, walking over to the open door and peering inside...

So you are looking into the foundry right? That's the one that is open.

As Thumparr looks he sees a gruesome cinematic play out. It all happens fast, too quick to intervene, but this is what he sees:

A large glassmaking foundry floor. The fires are so loud in here all perception checks in the foundry done at -4 penalty. Thumparr counts 6 goblins in here, throwing glass and shrieking with glee. In the center of the room, tied to a chair, is Lonjiku. He is being interrigated by a tall half-elf whom Thumparr recognizes as the bastard from the graveyard who tried to steal the body of the priest. This is Tsuto Kaijatsu, Lonjiku's 'son.' Strange that he is half elf since Ameiko is Human. Obviously Lonjiku's wife was not a faithful women! The two men argue for a moment, then Tsuto gives his father the kiss of death on the forehead, and signals to someone overhead. Thumparr sees he is signaling to two additional goblins (total of 8 in the room now) riding on top of a large bridge crane, from which is suspended a massive culdron. As they receive the signal these two goblins activate the tilt on this culdron sending a thousand pounds of green molten glass down upon Lonjiku Kaijatsu's head. He dies instantly, the flesh of his face and body melting and running together with the liquid glass which quickly hardens into place, leaving him gruesomly encased forever in a horrible display! The goblins giggle and shreik with glee and the foes all return to their 'play' throwing glass and laughing. Tsuto merely turns his back toward Thumparr's door and appears to be writing in a book or journal of some kind.

The goblins and half elf have not noticed your party yet. If/when you enter you will receive a surprise round.

Thumparr grits his teeth at the macabre murder, and turns back to his companions, holding up eight fingers and then pointing inside. He waves all of them forward, hefts a throwing axe...when everyone is ready, he steps inside and hurls the throwing axe at Tsuto's back.

Throwing axe: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Jeezus! I hate this f***ing dice roller!
