Can't properly put the grease down currently if someone would be so kind.

@Wyndel - are you holding your action - If so what is the exact trigger? Or casting your channel from where you stand?

Please clarify - based on how I understand it, I will default it to being cast prior to the enemy action should the rest of the PC turns be taken.

I would like to hold my action until we are engaged so as to include as many as possible.

Good question. HP let's do it this way. Roll the dice, if the dice is less than half of it's value, take half.

Human HP: 35/35 AC: 22, FF21, Touch 11. Fort +6, Ref +2, Will +7. Initiative +1. CMD 17, CMB +6. Bleeding Touch 7/7 Day Rebuke Death 7/7 Day Channel Positive Energy 3/5

HP: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
...4 it is then.

What do you guys think?

Trap spotter or Bleeding attack?

I don't think Bleeding Attack is very good. Trap Spotter is better for sure if you don't want to take Combat Trick or Weapon Training.

Edit: Roll HP HP: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Human HP: 35/35 AC: 22, FF21, Touch 11. Fort +6, Ref +2, Will +7. Initiative +1. CMD 17, CMB +6. Bleeding Touch 7/7 Day Rebuke Death 7/7 Day Channel Positive Energy 3/5

On the other hand I think bleeding attack is great especially if you keep tumble maxed out. Trap spotted can be liberating in it's own way.

Time for another BSA Campout at the facility with no cell signals. I head to work in the morning and then go meet the troop and head to camp. I'll be back on Sunday.

Have we heard from Wyndel at all? I just noticed it had been a week and a half since his last post and he hasn’t updated to level 2 yet.

You raise a good point Kesni. I had been waiting to hear back from posts before continuing. I'll update the gameplay thread later today, and just send a nudge.

More scouting. Helping run a training course that will keep me occupied through late Sunday. I am in cell range and might get a few minutes like this every now and again.

No worries. Look like a final plan will be coming together, once perception rolls are done, the encounter will start.

As of yet, I have not heard back from Wyndel. For the time being I will adjust the CR of the encounters to account for one less party member. I don't particularly feel the need to recruit for a replacement as we're still above standard party, and the overlap that Rast/Wyndel had was pretty good.

I however put it to a vote. Would you like to replace the 6th spot? Keep it to 5 now and leave it open on the off chance he should return?

Human HP: 35/35 AC: 22, FF21, Touch 11. Fort +6, Ref +2, Will +7. Initiative +1. CMD 17, CMB +6. Bleeding Touch 7/7 Day Rebuke Death 7/7 Day Channel Positive Energy 3/5

Five is still a good sized number for the group but not opposed to replacing if people would prefer.

I hate losing players. If we're going to not replace for now (and mechanically we shouldn't need to immediately), I want to vote early to seek 2 if we lose another. Try to stay ahead of the curve, if you will.

From what I've heard it happens. Should we lose another (I very much hope not - as I've really enjoyed seeing your contributions) I will open recruitment for 2 replacements.

As we approach the end of Chapter I (which is a ways off) I can always open the recruitment back up to 'top up' if you will.

For now, onward to the remainder of Part II. Part III is just around the corner!

Yeah, in another game I'm playing my guy was attacked in his sleep and "woke up" at -6 hp. It happens. Sometimes for much less reason than this bear.

I might be wrong but it looks like the bear took a move action through difficult terrain and then a full round action to attack.

Also, why are we attacking this bear again?

Half Orc Ranger 2 | HP:6/21 | AC:16 (T12 FF14) | CMB:4; CMD:17 | R:5 F:5 W:1 | Init:2 | Perception:6

We needed something the goblins took from the tomb yeah? These goblins were our only lead so far.

Yes, a move followed by a full-round attack action. I wasn't gong to say anything, but that's nearly what happened in the other game. Though in that case, the GM identified that the full-round attack action was a surprise round after-the-fact.

Why not say something? Because I'm a firm believer that as long as mistakes don't blatantly kill characters, it is just easier to keep moving. So they might use a few resources faster as a result. So what?

Again, easy wins are boring wins. Hard fought, truly dangerous risks make for far more entertaining and exceedingly exciting stories.

Well you did attack a bear, and elected to do so. They do act viciously. It was able to move through difficult terrain with it's move speed, even with the half reduced in it's difficult terrain. It did not charge however.

It was kind of a thing.

You are right, I mistakenly took the first attack option, which is the full round, and should not have been taken. The damage will be reduced by half, rounding up, for this mistake.

Thank you for pointing it out I do appreciate it when you do. Sometimes I take the 'GM liberty' and do the 'just cause' this however is not one of those times. You may see that in the big encounters and the story focused encounters where certain liberties are taken that make things a little more interesting to Gudada's point. I'm still of the mind to make a great memorable story with excellent characters.

(To that effect there are still notes I've made from your original posts, your backstories will not be missed, just a little more featured in Chapter 2)

It was a mistake. My apologies.

Kesni - Please update your HP damage to reflect 6 and not 12. I will put that in the gameplay thread as well.

This bear eats goblins. I feel like we should try to leave it alive.

Bears are scary man. I'd rather fight 12 goblins than a bear.

I'm not sure what Rogar will do here. Getting into melee range of a bear with 11ac is probably a bad idea.

Just waiting on Kesni (gains the additional round, as the opening shot was considered a surprise round) and Rogar to Act.

Another Scout camping trip. This time with the troop, like is supposed to be normal. Going back to the site with no cell coverage.

My allergies are hitting me hard enough I want to just crawl into a ball and do nothing. All the boys can't get there unless I drive.

Hopefully it was a good trip! Sorry on the delay of posting, with St Patrick's day the weekend got away from me.

Sure. “St. Patrick’s Day”. Admit it, I did something stupid I immediately regretted and you wanted me to stew all weekend. Lol!

LOL, well you did poke a bear. Literally. I have faith this skilled band of adventurers will pull through.

I do sincerely apologize on the delay.

No others for attacks of opportunity? Letting the bear go?
