The Coastal Town of Sandpoint has faced few trials and dangers over the course of it's Forty-Two year history, but unfortunately, that is all about to change.
Part One: Festival and Fire
For five years, the faithful of Sandpoint have attended church in temporary structures erected after fire destroyed the previous temple, and while their new religious leader was helpful, kind, and wise, church wasn't the same. Now, the new cathedral is finally done. All that remains is for the Swallowtail Festival to renew the site's blessings from the Gods and it will be as if the Sandpoint Fire had never occurred.
During the dedication of the temple trouble was brewing. Goblins made their way in the city and sprung an attack on the town! Luckily our heroes were there to intervene. A dozen goblins made their way into the town square, and our heroes fought them off bravely. Father Zanthus indicated to them that the battle was raging in the city, and further to the north there was still a large group of them.
Upon arriving at the North Gate, our heroes were confronted with a group of Goblins led by a commando. The cries for help of a townsman could be heard, as they closed in on him. After a tense conflict our heroes were able to defeat the Goblin commando and his group. Aldern named the band of adventurers the Goblinslayers. As the Goblin attack has ended, our heroes search the town for any wounded prior to the end of the day.
Part Two: Local Heroes
Three days after the Swallowtail Festival Sheriff Hemlock, Father Zanthus and Mayor Deverin are waiting at the Rusty Dragon to speak with the heroes of Sandpoint - The Goblinslayers. They make request of the heroes to: Investigate the Crypt of Tobyn, Help Defend the town from Goblin stragglers and perhaps take part in the upcoming town play.
The Goblinslayers began by investigating the desecrated Crypt of Tobyn. In the Crypt, at first it was empty and solemn, but our heroes were surprised to find that it was swarming with skeletons and a single risen corpse.
Moving to a forest clearing outside of town, they sneak up on what they thought was a pack of Goblins setting up to attack the city. However they found it to be inhabited by a bear who appeared to have just finished a hearty meal.
