Not that that is saying much. Still probably better than Blondie's morning breath though." Cael looks at Zelinda and winks as he delivers his punchline.

Norm makes a couple of hand signs, mumbling a few words and blows on his fingers. The magic is dispelled and Ansgar scrumps to normal hight. Norm then turns back to Cliff, stroking him and talking to him softly.

He is down 9 from 22 to 13, so 1 or 2 charges would be nice

And actually, as Ansgar is a cleric and Cael is a skald, all of you can cast it from the wand without UMD ;-)...so that is everyone...except me :-(

The reason we gave it to Zelinda is because I have CLW as a spell known, and Ansgar can spontaneously convert a slot if needed, so this way Zelinda doesn't have to give up a prepared extract for emergency healing if she doesn't want to.

With everyone getting their wounds healed and Ansgar being back to normal size, he heads over to check in the area around the corner.

Foxglove Manor

Caeldren checks the undead goblins, but they don't seem to have any loot.

The sickness from the smell and Cliff's paralysis both fade away after a few seconds.

The pool of water is about 100 feet deep, it surges and sloshes in a way that makes you think it's probably connected to the sea, and the strong currents would make it hard to swim on.

The side room seems to be the lair of all the undeads you encountered, it's heaped with bones who had their marrow eaten, on a cursory look it doesn't seem to have any items of interest.

As Cliff gets to his feet again, Norm also gets up. After checking that Cliff is indeed alright, he follows Ansgar to the other room/cave

You move up the stairs into a small room with another flight of stairs ending in a door.

You recognize the stench as being supernatural and identify it as a haunt beginning to manifest.

Ansgar:
As you get closer to the door, you experience a sudden vision of Aldern Foxglove, the same noble you saved from goblins during the Sandpoint raid. He is sweaty, filthy, and wild-eyed, digging away at the stone floor on the room. With each swing of the shovel, he grunts out two words: "For you". At this moment you notice the stairs leading to the cavern have disappeared, and he is trying to dig where they would be.

Aldern finally breaks through into the room beyond, and a horde of shrieking ghouls rises up to pull him into the darkness below before they turn their lambent eyes to you, reaching their clawed hands in your direction.

You swing your sword but there are simply too many ghouls. They grab you and begin to tear and bite at your flesh.

As Ansgar slashes his blade at the air, you see him jerk and thrash in the air as if being shaken by a mob. Suddenly, deep red claw and bite wounds appear on his flesh.

As Ansgar slashes through the air a second time; he finally drops to the ground, the ghoulish figures he saw disappearing as if a mere dream, although his wounds are very real.

What Ansgar has experienced seems to be what they call a "haunt", a violent manifestation caused by unquiet spirits that endured terrific mental or physical anguish.

Foxglove Manor

Opening the door you enter into a small corridor that ends into another door, as you open the second door, you see a larger room.

This room looks to have once been some sort of arcane workshop, although it now lies in ruin. A row of soggy books sits on the northern end of a workbench along the western wall. At the other end of the workbench, what looks like three iron birdcages sit, each containing a dead diseased rat. To the east, two stained-glass windows loom. The northern window depicts a thin man with gaunt features drinking a foul-looking brew of green fluid, while the southern one shows the same man but in an advanced state of decay, as if he had been dead for several weeks. His arms raised and head thrown back in triumph, his rotting body turns to smoke and spirals into a seven-sided box.

Norm and Cliff also steps in to the room, very careful not to touch anything.

Beside give the whole place a look (perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19) he'll take a closer look at the windows first and then the books in the corner.

If he can't see anything on the books as they are, he'll use mage hand to carefully poke the top one. If nothing happens, he'll carefully move a couple to get a better look at them.
