Eryda pulls the man back, and with a little pressure she pulls him free, the arm stays and she sees his face, it is mostly gone.
Out of the hole in the floor a particularly nasty looking Goblin dog leaps out and snaps at Eryda.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 hits Eryda in the arm for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 damage and Eryda needs to make a fort save vs disease of 16
Zara 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 acts in surprise
Tarin 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Aeron 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Unalaq 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Eryda 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Fernus 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
1d20 ⇒ 12
Heroes Go First, Zara has a surprise round action. No one else does
I will enjoy eating you as well. The beast growls.

![]() |

Growling slightly, Eryda takes a swing at the goblin. Hatred +1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 for 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 damage. Bite me, will you?! Taste 'Bass'! She swings for the goblin's torso and feels a satisfying crunch. And then she shuffles backwards, arm sagging from the exertion. That looks bad.

Fernus Stonecall |

Fernus grabs his crossbow from his backpack and moves into a position from where he could fire.

![]() |

So sorry! Wasn't exactly in a proper posting state of mind. Thanks for the fix, vuvu.

MiniGM |

Draken zips forward and stings the beast in the eye.
1d20 ⇒ 20 for 1d3 ⇒ 3
1d20 ⇒ 6 no confirm
1d20 ⇒ 4 the beast slumps over asleep face palm[ooc]
[ooc] I assume you want aeron to CDG the beast??
2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 6) + 4 = 12 Aeron lines up and brings the hammer down on the beasts head
1d20 ⇒ 2 It does not get up again
Fight over

Fernus Stonecall |

Well that was fast
Fernus looks on with a sad expression on his face. He has seen terrible wounds, but never had to write a sad ending like this, he makes a remark at the end of his journal about it.
"I wish we could have helped the poor man. His child will grow up fatherless all because of these brutes, this is the bad side of being a hero, coping with other people's loss.
Fernus looks about the room as to how the creature came into this house.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 17

Tiazara Tyrneamitore |

Eydra could you try to tend to this dog I know its not your specialty but the boy lost his foather this day he should lose his dog too. Sighs and resolves to find and kill this "Bref".

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil looks at the tag in Tiazara's hands and growls, "I think we need to pay someone a visit..."
He looks away from the corpse and takes a breath to calm himself, then adds, belatedly, "Sheriff Hemlock."

![]() |

Eryda looks up fom her wousndd arm and gives Zara a pronounced look. Among the Stouthaft community, it would be the equivalent of 'You want me to do what now?'. But the look quickly passes and Eryda steps closer to the mutt and attempts to 'lick its wounds'.
Healzor!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
She looks up and gives the group a thumbsup. And winces at the exertion on the wounded arm.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil says, "We should find the Sheriff. This was murder."

Draken Shar Black |

Draken thinks to himself, while cleaning off his stinger, then getting back into Aeron's backpack. Once outside he climbs up onto his shoulder.

Aéron Skáh |

I look down at the now dead creature in a confused and disgusted manner, then turn to Fernus, "Neva heard o'him." I walk out with everyone else and try to find somewhere that I can wash my hammer head off on.

![]() |

What now? Breath? The dog's breathing alright. I'll be outside, tending to my wound, thank any of you for your concern! Eryda grumbles as her intoxification wears off from the pain. She settles into a couch in the living room and pulls out her medical kit.
Heal: Restoring lethal damage; +2 kit expend: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
She lets out a fine dwarven profanity as the bandages fal off just as she was about to pin it down. In her frustration, she carelessly sends a few of the kit's bottles flying, joining the bandages on the floor in pieces. [ooc]Seriously. I can't Heal squat as a Cleric! 3 charges expended from my Healer's Kit.[/dice]

Aéron Skáh |

Mini, thanks for GMPC'ing Aéron so well. I would love to ID the collar, but I can't sense magic and nobody has told me that its magical, so I can't ask what it does. I think we are going to see Sheriff Hemlock to ask him about Bref.
"Would the wife know this Bref?" I seem to be thinking out loud.

MiniGM |

Done. So leave the wife hanging until after the Sherriff is what we are going with,
Our heroes wander into the Sherriffs office with a sense of urgency and share the story.
A horrible thing. There have been a few examples of goblins, though I have no heard of one of those beasts talking before, who had fled from the fighting and hid, only to come out when they got hungry. Though this is the only one to turn tragic. I will send a deputy to clean the place up and remove the body before the family gets home. It is good that you saved the dog, I will make sure little Petal gets healed and is awake for the family. They have lost enough.
The Sherriff listens to the questions about Bref. I have heard the name. I am surprised that his influence is this cloe to Sandpoint. He is a recent, self-styalized goblin king. His lair is closer to Magnamar than here. I know little other than he is very dangerous many adventurers much more established than you, no offense, have been slaughtered by him.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil cocks his head, "So the question is whether this dog was part of the main attack, and that was a message for all of Sandpoint, or if this was something more... personal....as we first thought it was."

Aéron Skáh |

I look around the group all gathered in the Sheriff's office and finally down at Tarinhil, "Or how'd it get in there? A Goblin could'a let it in during the skirmish." I look up at the Sheriff, "Qué é o traballo das vítimas?"

MiniGM |

Well, this is the second that has claimed to be part of the Stumpbumper tribe. In general those that attacked from his tribe were far more deadly, and fewer were caught. None of them have been able to tell us anything other than a longshanks is in charge and the tribe they are from. Most of them are from the Thistletop tribe, that is the most powerful of the loc...
He is intertupted by Shalelu marching back in. She has her arm in a sling
Sherrif we need to speak immediately. The Sheriff gestures to his office. Excuse me. We have sent to wife's sister from Magnamar, hopefully the survivors can stay with her. Until then I am sure she can stay in the cathedral. Don't go anywhere though I have something I need you guys to check out for me.
With that all further questions are cut off.

Fernus Stonecall |

Before we headed towards the Sheriff's, Fernus looks up on Eryda and tries to help her with her stitching.
Aid Eryda Heal: 1d20 ⇒ 20
"We care you know Eryda, though I think we got caught up in the fight and tragedy of the husband and father falling to pay as much attention as we should have. I know I was shocked." he says as he picks up the bandages and bottles, lending her a helping hand.
Hopefuly someone has remarked that the collar is magical
Spellcraft to ID: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Fernus picks up the thing and doesn't know it's magical yet, but keeps it as a reminder for what adventurers do their thing and why he writes the stories. To remember.
Should have done the rolls in reverse order, oh well.

MiniGM |

for now i am fine reminding you all, but once we hit level 2 you risk leaving gear behind. Level 2 the traingin wheels come off :). Also I need you all to note on your sheets WHO has the wands, other wise i will not let them be used in combat. so make sure you deicd who has the CLW wand and who has the Fear wand

Aéron Skáh |

I get distracted as I watch Shalelu walk in and talk with the Sheriff, then my eyes follow her out again and my attention turns back to the Sheriff. "Hmmm ... So nothin' to connect him to Bref? Maybe he's just a random victim?"

Aéron Skáh |

I look to the others while we wait for both Sheriff Hemlock and Shalelu to return, "Sounds like a revenge thing then. We'll have ta ask who the first victim was, when he comes back in."

Aéron Skáh |

Ah right, sorry for mis-understanding. Please ignore that post then."

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil has the CLW wand -- it's on his "spell" list and Eryda can cast the spell.

Aéron Skáh |

I look over to Zara, "Anythin' else on the collar, like another message or somethin' that'd give us a clue as ta where they are, like a special material or markin'?"
So far all I have is the Cure Moderate Wounds Potion and my Masterwork Earth-Breaker that I won in the festivities.

Draken Shar Black |

Draken still thinks to himself, the musings of shineys and his treasures. But still looks at each of you as you speak. "You must teach me that language Aeron."
Sorry, I got to thinking, and Draken would not care about the big folks that much so knoledge local would not help much anyway, at least from his perspective.

Unalaq |

A breathless Unalaq pushes open the door and enters the room. "What happened, I was on duty by the west gate and heard that there had been a murder. Were you all there?"

MiniGM |

Shalelu leaves the office with the Sheriff. Hello again boys. I hear you have been up to all sorts of things in the few days I have been gone.
"Belor's told me of your continuing work against the goblins well
done. I've dedicated the last several years of
my life to keeping them from causing too much
trouble around these parts, but they're ten acious
and fecund little runts. Like weeds that bite.
"There are five major goblin tribes in the region ,
and, traditionally, they're pretty good at keeping
each other in line with intertribal squabbles an d the
like . Yet from what I 've been able to piece together,
members of all five tribes were in volved in the raid
on Sandpoint, six if you include Stumpbumper. A fair number of the Mosswood
goblins I dealt with yesterday were already pretty
beat up, an d there was a lot of chatter about the
'longshanks' who killed so many of them. Now
it seems obvious from their descriptions who they were talking about. Seems
like you've made an impression .
"In any event, the fact that the five tribes are
working together disturbs me. Not to mention this Stumpbumper wildcard. Goblin tribes don't
get along unless they've got something big planned,
and big plans require big bosses. I 'm afraid that
someone's moved in on the goblins and organized
them. And judging by these recent raids, what
they're organizing seems like bad news for all of us.
