Is Varisian Idol Legal

Pathfinder Society

In Rise of the Rune lords player guide it says it isn't, but in Curse of the Crimson Throne players guide it says it is.

Rise of the Runelords Player's Guide
Equipment: all equipment on pages 10–11 (except hide shirt and Varisian Idol)

Curse of the Crimson Throne Player's Guide
Equipment: all equipment on pages 12–13 (except hide shirt)

Shadow Lodge

Whether or not it was intentional, if the Varisian Idol is listed on page 12 or 13 of the Curse of the Crimson Throne Player's Guide, then it would be legal.

I think the intention is that they should not be legal. They have been noted for both the Rise of the Runelords Player's Guide and Pathfinder Player Companion: Varisia, Birthplace of Legends. I expect that the Curse of the Crimson Throne Player's Guide was a miss and the additional updates should be modified.

Shadow Lodge

Regardless of intention, if it falls into a section deemed legal without an exception made for it, it is technically legal.

That said, now that it's been pointed out, it's pretty much a sure thing that it'll be corrected.

The new Idols in the Varisia Companion are quite delicious, understandable that they'd be restricted.

If they tried to keep them out once they're going to try to keep them out again. Don't cheese an editing mistake to get a broken/special item.
