Houserules:

Casting: When casting a spell defensivly if you fail you do not automaticly lose the spell, rather you provoke an attack as you normally would for not casting defensive. If you are hit you must make a concentration check dc 10+damage taken if you fail this check you lose the spell.

Fumble: If you roll a natural 1 on your attack roll, make a dexterity check. If you get less than 10 you fumble. If you get more than 10 your attack simply misses very badly. If you roll a natural 20 you get your attack back, roll another attack roll!

Super crits: If you roll a natural 20 on a critical and when you roll another 20 to confirm this is a super crit, increase your weapons modifier by 1. (ex: X2 becomes X3)

Rolls:
Many rolls will be handled by the GM in secret.(don't worry, I don't fudge.)
Any result that can influence the character behavior will not be rolled open.
Rolls that will be handled by the GM:
Perception
Sense Motive.

if you make the check I will send you a pm or make a post and put it in a spoiler depending on the situation.

Sometimes I will roll Initiative others I will ask you to roll depending on the situation. In some situation (rarely) I will bypass init entirely and have you all go first and enemies second or have enemies go first and you all go after.

Combat rules:
I'm a fair GM, I dont roll combat in secret, I don't change results, I don't ignore bad calls from the characters.
Sometimes, character dies, but I'm not a player killer, if I think that an encounter will be easy handled, when it should be more challenging, I will make it a more challenging, if the party it's not prepared to face something, I will drop hints, if they insist... well killing one or two players never made me lack sleep...

Actions:
I'm a GM that do not punish the character for trying something new or cool, or even strange. Visual appealing actions are encouraged, the dc will of course depend on what are you trying, but you can try! If what you want to do is wicked cool, I can even bend the game mechanics to allow it! The most importat part is: You are villains. Villains are smart, resourceful and have style! Have you ever seen a memorable villain that could just swing his sword and do nothing more?

Posting Rate
If it could be done, I expect 1/day posting, if you can post more, it will really good.
During weekend, this rule does not apply. If you are able to post, great! But dont stress over this, everyone need some time to rest (In my case, I need time to play and DM :D on my tabletop games).

Level up
Aside from character creation, when you level up, if you want something not from core rulebook, you'll need to search it inside the game. basicly what you need to do is just show in game your character is searching for that knowledge. This rule is not meant to prohibit anything, I just don't like something like this: "Character always as a full caster, never picked up a sword in his entire life, and then he gain a new level and says: Master, I'll level up as a fighter now..."

"I'm ready. But we need to talk tactics!" answers Karla, lifting with renewed vigor from her chair.

"The Lord in Iron smiles upon our endeavour, but I know we'll end up in the Boneyard quick if we don't work as a team..."

She looks around at all of you, making a hand into a fist: "We all seem to be able to stand a serious fight, but we should strive to become more than each individual!"

"I can hold a line, and chop some meat, but I can also lift your spirit and enhance your battle prowess. Such is the Grace He has shared with me thus far, as I've unlocked the mysteries of blood and steel. As such, I would suggest you wait for me before firing or charging."

"I think Lord Zohan has the right of it by asking what the ogrekin are. I'm ready for most anything but I'd like to take just ten minutes to ask this question at the church or maybe of a local hunter. Perhaps this wood isn't in the opposite direction we're travelling and irrelevant...unless the ogrekin have been manipulated to travelling off the reservation. It's the enemy you don't see coming that gets you. After that our feelings will very much be in concert. Biscuit XVIII will undoubtedly be glad to move, as well."

Male Human (Chelaxian) Magus/7 (Fort +7, Ref +3, Will +5 ; Init +1 ; Perception +0)

Lucan agrees, "Let us head on to the fortress. Let us keep the signs of the Sihedron in mind, for it doubtless is pointing us to something. But, we are not likely to tease out just what that is standing here and talking."

He winces as people talk about the possible origins of Ogrekin. He does not want to think about it.

To Karla, Lucan says, "As far as tactics go, I am a front-line fighter. I am better with my sword than I am with a bow, but I carry a bow because sometimes it is needed. I use spells, or a wand, to enhance the damage that I do with my sword. I would be most grateful for any blessings and empowerment you can provide... as well as for any magical healing you can provide, as I tend to get beat up quite a bit fighting on the front lines. My armor is good, but one cannot help but take some hits."

He looks to Shelalu. "Will you be accompanying us?"

"Aye I will join you, I'm curious about solving this mystery myself."

Male Elf Conjurer 7 (Init -1 | Perc +6 | hp 23/27 | AC 13/9/13 | Saves 3/3/8)

"I understand from the tavernkeeper that we ride right alongside the Kreegwood when we head north toward the fort. Whatever these ogrekin may be, I wouldn't bet against seeing one on the way there or back, should we return this way."

"Well Lucan, I'm glad to hear you'll be by my side on the line, but you should know I'm not the girl who'll bring comfort and healing..."

She turns to look at the Abadarian: "Perhaps he can help?"

Zadderk somewhat squints his eyes to see if the Owl he called for is coming. Something should have definitely woken one up and called it to him, but for the life of him, they never take this long under normal circumstances. "Any minute now!" he says, scanning the horizon.

Not to be that guy, but I did cast call animal.

Right

A grumpy owl shows up quite irritated at being disturbed in the middle of the day.

Sorry ;_;

As the creature lands on Zadderk's arm, he uses his other hand, producing some feed in the form of that recently stripped turkey leg. He figures if the eagle enjoyed it so much, the Owl may very well do so as well.

Cast Speak with Animals

Owl:
"My apologies for waking you up in the middle of the day, friend, but I've need of your assistance in the form of Hearsay. Your kind stalks the woods at night, and I know your hearing is unrivaled, so if I may ask, to the north, far on away, there is a structure, large and made of stone, by humans. Have you seen it recently in your hunting? Were there large lumbering folk far bigger than humans on it? What can you tell me?"

Zadderk speaks to the owl as he hands it plenty of the turkey leg, hoping to peruse it.

"I don't fly that high into the mountain but the forest is very active of late. I saw several of the lumbering folk, I even saw one of them chasing a bear not far from here." replies the owl.

Owl:
"Hmm... Not far, you say? How many, do you think? Anything remarkable about them?"

Male Elf Conjurer 7 (Init -1 | Perc +6 | hp 23/27 | AC 13/9/13 | Saves 3/3/8)

Lord Zohan listens with interest to the odd, hooting language emerging from Zaddick's throat.

"Just one lumbering human thing with dogs chasing a bear close to the river at the place were humans cross."

Hearing that, Zadderk raises his arm. and audibly says thank you before whistling for Dasher, but cuts it short when he realizes he's barely a foot from the wizard. "Thank you, friend! Sleep well!" he says as the bird flies off.

Zadderk then turns to look at the group, whom seems to have taken a mild interest in his "Owl whispering". "Err... I've news! They'res an Ogre-kin, most likely, on the way to the Fort. He's got dogs, ta' boot, which means he's huntin and chasin' a bear near the river on the way. We'd best be off! If'n we can get the drop on 'is one, we could just learn from'im. Fool won't last long. What say ye' cuz I personally don't wanna miss 'is opportunity." he says, assuredly.

Not seeing the need to repeat, Karla just nods to say she's ready to go.

Fascinating talent, to be able to speak thus with the fauna. Great way to get information on the battlefield...

"How far away is that ogre-kin?"

If she learns that it's only two hours or less, she'll take but a moment once they leave the town to ask Gorum for his blessings, enhancing the sharpness and balance of her sword, and summoning a plate of steel that floats at her hip, ready to block blows.

Casting Defending Bone and Greater Magic Weapon, each 7 hours.

You figure the place were humans cross is most likely the bridge which is 3 miles north of turtleback ferry.

"I figure it's 3 miles ta' the north at a bridge. No time't all. Less than a' hour, at best." he says he readies his crossbow.

Male Human Vigilante (Faceless Enforcer) 7

"I used to serve as a Taxmaster, where sharpshooting and pursuit skills were honed more than a divine connection. I expect to be able to heal you more or less fully once a day in a pinch, but more than that is unlikely."

Andras is impressed by Zadderk's winged informant. "This falconer learned more from a bird than I did from people!".
He eagerly stands up and imitates reloading his weapon, to make sure it still functions flawlessly. "Can you get the owl to show us the way?"

Excitement can add flourish to Serra's language MAKE HASTE! WE SHALL DEPART ANON!...but seriously, all, I'm going to get Biscuit XVIII and we're going to be ready downstairs. While I hate combatting dogs I fear no creature that uses them. Let's go see what this ogrekin is made of. He stands and approaches the door. I will see you all outside. provided the rest of the party moves in similar strides, Serra will prepare his horse and begin the journey outside the city with his new companions.

Male Elf Conjurer 7 (Init -1 | Perc +6 | hp 23/27 | AC 13/9/13 | Saves 3/3/8)

Lord Zohan sighs in resignation. "Yes, I can see that you young people are eager to wet your blades and arrows. Withers, please tell the cook the venison was delicious but the green beans really needn't boil so long. Then ready the horses, would you? We've a bear to save, it seems. After that, he mumbles almost to himself but still audible to his remarkably perceptive colleagues. "At least it's on the way to Fort Rannick."

You go north and make your way to the bridge. You cross and enter the Kreegwood. It takes some time but you do find the bear or rather it finds you. The creature charges out of the woods heading towards you. It appears to be wounded and you hear barking not far behind.

Silver Crusade

M Human Rogue 7

Actions are hard.:
If Serra has time he will get Biscuit XVIII to the side of the road, behind the first line of trees, so as not to get in the way of a terrified bear that has been hounded for over an hour. He will dismount, tie him off quickly, pull out my bow, and prepare to shoot (from cover) the first dog that comes within sneak attack range (30 ft). If a sneak attack is not possible, I'll shoot the first one possible (within 60 ft).

If he does not have time, he will still move aside and prepare his shot from horseback.

"Come, colleagues, we must get out of site to set ambush." Serra turns his horse to the woods.

So many dice:

Ride (guide with knees): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
Readied Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Readied At. Dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 4
If I can get a ranged sneak attack by shooting from cover and waiting for them to be within 30 ft: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 1) = 16

Male Elf Conjurer 7 (Init -1 | Perc +6 | hp 23/27 | AC 13/9/13 | Saves 3/3/8)

Unsure how many dogs are following the dangerous creature, Lord Zohan and his entourage move away from the bear's trajectory and prepare to cast web in an area that catches as many dogs as possible.
web DC 16

Looking over at the bear, Zadderk raises an eyebrow. It seems odd, the way it acts. Squinting his eyes he wonders if there's anything really special about it, but figures it's just an ordinary bear.

Knowledge: Nature: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18

That aside, he spits, with the bow readied. "I can practically smell'em..." he says, readying his attack at the first Ogre or Ogrekin that comes into view. His hand grips the weapon tightly as he smiles, excited to put his best foot forward...

Heavy Crossbow (Deadly aim, Ogre): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35 Ogre taken into account. -4 otherwise. Deadly aim as well.
Critical Confirm: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22

Damage (Non-crit): 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage (Bonus): 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Damage (Bonus): 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

If that is a crit, he just took 39 damage.

Karla stears clear of the way the bear seems intent on taking.

Let's hunt the hunter instead...

Five dogs come chasing after the bear soon followed by the an ogre-kin hunter.

Zohan unleashes his magic trapping the two in the middle in thick webs and Zadderk fire his crossbow landing a solid on the ogre-kin hunter who stumbles caught of guard.

"Why you attack me?!? I was only hunting bear! I'm going to kill you now! he shouts

That was the surprise round, I rolled you won init.

Enemies are still a good distance away the closest one being the dogs 50 feet away and the ogre-kin is 80 feet away.

You can each post again then it's enemies.

Male Human Vigilante (Faceless Enforcer) 7

Upon hearing the ruckus in the woods, Andras dismantles not too gracefully and trots away from the bear's path to the opposite side of Zadderk. He takes position behind a tree and fires as the Ogre-kin is distracted by Zadderk's well-placed shot.

Deadly aim
Attack 1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Attack 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Dmg 1: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Dmg 2: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

However, whether it's the consequence of a rough horseback ride or perhaps undue emotions from witnessing Zadderk's marksmanship, Andras notices that his aim is slightly trembling. He takes a deep breath and tries to stay focused on his target.

Male Elf Conjurer 7 (Init -1 | Perc +6 | hp 23/27 | AC 13/9/13 | Saves 3/3/8)

With his mount, Chestnut, steady and out of the bear's trajectory, Lord Zohan grasps a silvery green metallic rod from his vest pocket with one hand and draws a pinch of powdered lime and carbon from his spell component pouch with the other. Gesticulating gracefully as he utters the arcane key words, the lime and carbon dissolve in a flash and the aura on Karla's greatsword intensifies.
extended greater magic weapon for a +2 enhancement bonus for 14 hours (reminder that this doesn't stack with the weapon's previous enhancement bonus)
He deems it prudent to remain on horseback for the moment.

I had already cast GMW earlier... Sorry.

Serra shoots off another arrow. If the dog he shot at originally is still up, he shoots it again. If not, he shoots at another one.

Bang Bang Bang: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Damage Bang Bang Bang: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Sneak Attack?: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 5) = 16

"Because you're ugly and call us shallow but we've got problems with ugly!"

Karla snaps and barks like a mean drill sergeant:"This is the clumsiest deployment I've had the displeasure of witnessing in my life! By Gorum, 12-year d priestesses of Shelyn would look tougher and meaner than your sorry bunch! Come on now! Cut through those dogs and cut that ogre son of Calistria!!!"

MvA to Inspire Courage +2 hit and damage and some will saves. StA to get off the horse.

Serra's first arrow took hits a hound and his second arrow strikes the same hound again but it's still up (no sneak attack because it's beyond 30 feet)

So far the ogrekin has taken 39 damage and a dog has taken 10.

In most battles I will post a combat map. I just haven't made one for this encounter because it will be over in like 2 rounds

Male Human (Chelaxian) Magus/7 (Fort +7, Ref +3, Will +5 ; Init +1 ; Perception +0)

Actions:

Can he get there in a charge? If so, he'll do that; -2 to AC (down to 18), +2 to attack roll.

+2 Longsword Attack on Charge: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18

Karla's shouting riles up Andras, reminding him of the worst commander he ever had. Determined to put a stop to it as soon as possible, he lines up his crossbow a second time and releases two more bolts at the ogre-kin, figuring the dogs will scatter once the hunter is down.

Shifting her greatsword to her left hand, she makes a short dash, drawing her javelin, then releases it with a great effort as she plants her left foot in the damp grass.

Lord Zohan's eyes widen at Karla's style of 'encouragement', but he feels his blood stirred nonetheless. He briefly considers his inventory of spells and decides that they are all simply too powerful to throw away on a single misbegotten ogre and his surely abused dog. Instead, he pulls out his crossbow absentmindedly while he studies the bear, whose behavior and lack of fear toward the humans seems unusual. He readies an action to move should the bear or the dog take an unhealthy interest in him and his minions.

Swiftly dodging the Javelin as it comes by, Zadderk pulls 3 bolts out of his pockets, throwing them into the air, his hatred of the enemy infront of him surging wtih an immaculate fury. He was in his element as he pulled the weapon back with surprising swiftness, letting loose 3 shots that seemed rather on-call, and relentless in their pursuit of the ogrekin.
