Just wait until someone casts Fly on him!!!

I cannot climb, due to the massive ACP of my armour, so I would prefer the rope bridge (albiet not by much).

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! We have officially made it to 20 pages in the gameplay thread. What is the big deal, you ask? Well, in the last few years, I have both seen personally and been told that if a thread makes it to 20 pages, statistically, it will reach its goal. From what I have seen/ been told, almost every single campaign game on here fails well before the 20 pages/first book benchmark. Despite a false start, a new GM, and everything else, we have not only made it this far, but we have done so with the original crew. (Another statistical anomaly!) So, I take my hat off to each of you four. Thank you for making this a reality. Thank you for your hard work and your dedication. Thank you for your patience and your time. Yall Rock, and I have truly enjoyed the last 10 months of playing with you!!

M Dwarf H:v Alchemist 5 | HP 27/32 | AC 16 T 12FF 16 | Fort+6 Ref +6 Will+6 | Initiative +2 | Perception+9| Diplm+6 | Appraise+9 | MWBattleaxe Melee +4 Attack bonus, 1d8+1, crt x3 ; CMD 14; 1185 gp 19sp

How cool, and thanks Double D for running this great campaign and story! Ten months...wow....wow. That's just cool.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

So, here is a question for you all. PFS allows for the completion of the Thistletop dungeon to be reported and applied to a PFS character between lvls 3 and 5. Are you interested in me reporting this dungeon once we are finished? I notice that not all of you have PFS characters linked to your profile, and in order for me to report this, all four of you would have to supply a PFS character number. I will leave it up to you.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

I have no idea what any of that is all about.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

PFS is Pathfinder Society. You register a character to play by Society rules, which are quite a bit more restrictive than standard pathfinder. In return, there are various boons and items that you can earn through chronicle sheets that are distributed at the conclusion of each game to the players and the GM. This also coincides with the game being "reported" or entered into the Paizo system for tracking. This is currently my only non-PFS game, but the adventure paths have the bonus of being able to be played as standard, but then turning around and assigning credit to a PFS character for certain parts.

Personally, I would like to be able to assign the chronicles to one of my characters, but if yall don't want to/ aren't interested in PFS, then there is no reason to jump through the hoops. The biggest thing is just personal preference. Some people (like myself) prefer the more rigid rules of society play, but others can't stand the limits that are placed upon character options.

Male Varisan Human Cleric (Varisian Pilgrim) of Desna 6 | HP 43/43 | AC 18 T 13 FF 15 | Fort+7 Ref +6 Will +10 (+11) | Initiative +3 | Perception +4 | Channel Energy 7/7 | Bit of Luck 7/7 | Agile Feet 7/7

Don't the characters in question have to be PFS legal to qualify? The characters in this game rolled their stats and are not 20 pt buy.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

Nope. That is the caveat that was granted for Adventure Paths. Per the Additional Resources page Adventure Paths may be played by a non-society character, and then PFS characters are granted credit afterwards for specific sections, typically the boss fight of each book.

Edit: if you click the link "Download the Chronicle sheets and rules for running this Adventure Path." this opens up a document that more fully explains the situation.

"Alternatively, if you are participating in the Rise of
the Runelords Adventure Path with an ongoing group
undertaking the entire, six-chapter campaign, you may
receive credit for playing the sanctioned portions of the
adventure as if you had played a pregenerated character.
In this case, GMs running the Adventure Path are not
bound to the rules of the Pathfinder Society Organized
Play campaign (such as 20-point buy, unavailability of
hero points, etc.) when running the campaign or the
sanctioned portion of the adventure. Pathfinder Society
characters and characters from an ongoing Adventure
Path campaign may not play in the same adventure."

Male Varisan Human Cleric (Varisian Pilgrim) of Desna 6 | HP 43/43 | AC 18 T 13 FF 15 | Fort+7 Ref +6 Will +10 (+11) | Initiative +3 | Perception +4 | Channel Energy 7/7 | Bit of Luck 7/7 | Agile Feet 7/7

Okay. With that being said, I don't have a problem with what you are proposing.

M Dwarf H:v Alchemist 5 | HP 27/32 | AC 16 T 12FF 16 | Fort+6 Ref +6 Will+6 | Initiative +2 | Perception+9| Diplm+6 | Appraise+9 | MWBattleaxe Melee +4 Attack bonus, 1d8+1, crt x3 ; CMD 14; 1185 gp 19sp

I like the idea...may need some guidance on how to make it all happen. But, I like the idea a lot.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

It really only benefits anyone if you play society. Otherwise, those that don't are jumping through unnecessary hoops for the others.

Female Human Wizard (Exploiter) 8 | HP 54/54 | AC 13 T 13 FF 11 | Fort +4 Ref +5 Will +7 | Initiative +2 | Perception +10 | Arcane Reservoir: 7/11 | Pearls of Power: 1st—1/1 2nd—1/1

I don't think I've played PFS in like... five years.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

I don't see a problem with it then, not sure how I would go about doing that. The biggest worry was the stats being rolled, glad that is out of the way now though.

M Dwarf H:v Alchemist 5 | HP 27/32 | AC 16 T 12FF 16 | Fort+6 Ref +6 Will+6 | Initiative +2 | Perception+9| Diplm+6 | Appraise+9 | MWBattleaxe Melee +4 Attack bonus, 1d8+1, crt x3 ; CMD 14; 1185 gp 19sp

Apparently, Volkar has a better chance of killing sleeping goblins...sigh

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

Well, its not something that needs done any time soon, but if yall are willing, I at least would appreciate it. :-)

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

I hope my comment didn't offend, I can assure you it was certainly not intended to be taken that way.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

no, not at all, Daelric! I was just trying to help end the toe to toe slog. :-) We are good!

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

Volkar: Looking at the news earlier, I saw the weather is about to get really bad for you. Good luck and stay safe! I understand if you disappear, but please let us know you are safe as soon as you can after everything gets sorted out.

Hey DD - yea it was predicted to be really rough...we were in the office most of the day in storm resonse mode..had gusts and such, but we came through rather well here. Yesterday's portion knocked out power for about 14 hours.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

damn. Glad everything worked out for yall. Our news here was saying that everything was supposed to hit today. It didn't say anything about Friday being rough.

M Dwarf H:v Alchemist 5 | HP 27/32 | AC 16 T 12FF 16 | Fort+6 Ref +6 Will+6 | Initiative +2 | Perception+9| Diplm+6 | Appraise+9 | MWBattleaxe Melee +4 Attack bonus, 1d8+1, crt x3 ; CMD 14; 1185 gp 19sp

Yea, Friday was suppose to be a warm up, but it actually had a bit of punch too it. Down on the Columbia River there were actually a couple of tornado touch downs...so that was a bit odd. Not that strong up here...just took out power lines. Today was about the same without the drama.

M Dwarf H:v Alchemist 5 | HP 27/32 | AC 16 T 12FF 16 | Fort+6 Ref +6 Will+6 | Initiative +2 | Perception+9| Diplm+6 | Appraise+9 | MWBattleaxe Melee +4 Attack bonus, 1d8+1, crt x3 ; CMD 14; 1185 gp 19sp

Get better Daelric! Hope the prescriptions are helping.

Sorry for the pause...was down in LA for a friend's wedding and crammed a lot of other things into that trip with my girlfriend. Back home and trying to catch up here tonight.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

It's fine, Volkar. You told us this weekend would be a busy one. Glad you are home safe!

Female Human Wizard (Exploiter) 8 | HP 54/54 | AC 13 T 13 FF 11 | Fort +4 Ref +5 Will +7 | Initiative +2 | Perception +10 | Arcane Reservoir: 7/11 | Pearls of Power: 1st—1/1 2nd—1/1

I will be camping and out of contact this weekend. Back Monday! Bot if needed!

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

Hopefully we can get to a section soon where both Andrezi and Kiera will be able to do more, at the moment you must both be very bored.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

At the moment, I imagine that everyone is pretty bored, slogging through these tunnels. I tried my damndest to come up with something to alleviate this, but no dice.. literally. Luckily, once you finish these off things will open up a bit and yall will have some choices to make.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

That's if we decide to leave the other group of Goblin Dogs alive, which I would rather not do in case anyone else ventures around here and gets attacked.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

very true

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

Luckily if we can get all the dogs into a group we can have Volkar throw a Bomb or 2 in there. Each one does 2D6+3, with a Splash of 5 on adjacent foes. That should make it 1 or 2 Bombs to get them all, plus they hit on Touch which would be lower so easier to hit.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

I really thought that the bombs would have played more of a role in here, but I can see the hesitation to use them in cramped quarters as well.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

The cool thing about the bombs though, is that if you don't want to throw them at an opponent and deal the 2D6 damage as well, you can just throw them at the ground (on an intersection) so possibly still hit 4 creatures. The AC for the ground is only 5, so with the -4 to hit due to squeezing, that becomes a much more viable option.

I wouldn't mind taking a little damage if it meant that the enemies were defeated quicker either.

M Dwarf H:v Alchemist 5 | HP 27/32 | AC 16 T 12FF 16 | Fort+6 Ref +6 Will+6 | Initiative +2 | Perception+9| Diplm+6 | Appraise+9 | MWBattleaxe Melee +4 Attack bonus, 1d8+1, crt x3 ; CMD 14; 1185 gp 19sp

LOL, well my concern was trying to keep the keep from knowing we were coming with the explosions being a warning to what ever is "over there." not sure that that has worked the way I was hoping.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

Also with all the barking, and fighting, they know where we are. But then again I think it has helped us in having them come to us, although the cramped conditions is a little frustrating, it has only been hindering me in the last few rounds really.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

Happy thankgiving to all of you. May your holiday weekend be full of family, fun, and all good things.

M Dwarf H:v Alchemist 5 | HP 27/32 | AC 16 T 12FF 16 | Fort+6 Ref +6 Will+6 | Initiative +2 | Perception+9| Diplm+6 | Appraise+9 | MWBattleaxe Melee +4 Attack bonus, 1d8+1, crt x3 ; CMD 14; 1185 gp 19sp

Thanks DD, typing from my 90 yr old grandmother's home. We just got done visiting and it's past her bed time...lol. I am fading fast s well.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving...enjoy the food and the laughter!

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

Umm, happy Thanksgiving.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

lol @ Daelric. Just out of curiosity, do yall have any big holidays of the sort.. other than Christmas.. this time of year?

M Dwarf H:v Alchemist 5 | HP 27/32 | AC 16 T 12FF 16 | Fort+6 Ref +6 Will+6 | Initiative +2 | Perception+9| Diplm+6 | Appraise+9 | MWBattleaxe Melee +4 Attack bonus, 1d8+1, crt x3 ; CMD 14; 1185 gp 19sp

DD no problem with that pause...am with family here...and took my nearly 90 year old grandmother to Maona - in 3d - her first such movie ever. LOL...she loved the color and the movement. A great story and really one that was a lot of fun to share with her.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

Ive been thinking about taking my son to see that.. alas, no 3d movies for old one eye here. I have heard a lot of good stuff about that movie already.

Its awesome that you are doing that with your grandmother.. and that she is still able to experience things like that at 90 yrs old. During my time in EMS, I saw way too many elderly people.. not even close to 90.. that were dropped off in nursing homes and forgotten by their families; left to slowly succumb to bedridden wastes. Props to you man.

M Dwarf H:v Alchemist 5 | HP 27/32 | AC 16 T 12FF 16 | Fort+6 Ref +6 Will+6 | Initiative +2 | Perception+9| Diplm+6 | Appraise+9 | MWBattleaxe Melee +4 Attack bonus, 1d8+1, crt x3 ; CMD 14; 1185 gp 19sp

Thanks DD -- she is watching Jeopardy...still drives back streets only in broad day light...at home and has some help...but was helping me with the lights on her tree. Yea, pretty lucky in this regard...but she is also the last of the grandparents and parents...my uncle, her son, is the last of his generation too...so yea, damn special to take her to that movie.

It's good, but not for really little ones, I suspect they might get a bit scared on some of the parts...but I would say 8+ if they have gone through some scary animation stories...love the colors and the flow of things.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

Nothing like that, I think the only "holiday" we have around this year other than Christmas is Bonfire Night on November the 5th. Not sure if you have that or not.

It isn't really a holiday, just in the evening the big town or cities will make a large bonfire and play music for people to gather around. Also lots of Fireworks all over the country.

Volkar, as someone who used to work in a residential home for the elderly, I can say that taking your elders on that sort of trip and to those experiences keep them out of homes longer and generally extend their life. So well done.

M Dwarf H:v Alchemist 5 | HP 27/32 | AC 16 T 12FF 16 | Fort+6 Ref +6 Will+6 | Initiative +2 | Perception+9| Diplm+6 | Appraise+9 | MWBattleaxe Melee +4 Attack bonus, 1d8+1, crt x3 ; CMD 14; 1185 gp 19sp

We don't have bonfire night here in the States. Sometimes a "bon fire" is put together for part of a school homecoming event or something similar.

Yea, she turns 90 on the 6th. So, yesterday we did a bunch of things, and today she was smiling and just really up beat. Was really good to see. We had a really good visit this morning and then I headed out to Seattle for a few things on the Christmas list and across the ferry towards home. Long trip but a good one.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

So glad you had that opportunity to spend that time with her.

Other than organized bonfire events as Volkar mentioned, bonfires are really just a country thing. We have them both here and back home in Texas, where its just basically a field party or a small get together and you stand around the fire, maybe have a few drinks, and enjoy good company. You really luck out if someone knows how to play a guitar and brings it along!!

Unfortunately, I think that large bonfire parties really kind of died down after the A+M collapse a number of years ago. (At least in Texas they did.. I have never seen bonfires of that size anywhere else) It was a tradition before the big rivalry football game between the Univerity of Texas and A+M that they had a massive bonfire constructed from whole trees and designed by the engineering students. Unfortunately, one year the tower collapsed and killed a number of students. They still hold the bonfires there, but it really is not the same affair.

A&M Tragedy

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

Ah not good. Bonfire Night for us is in celebration of Guy Fawkes, a guy who tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament but failed. So we celebrate by having the bonfires and burning a "Guy" (a straw stuffed mannequin of sorts), unfortunately most see it now as just an excuse to get drunk.

Guy Fawkes

M Dwarf H:v Alchemist 5 | HP 27/32 | AC 16 T 12FF 16 | Fort+6 Ref +6 Will+6 | Initiative +2 | Perception+9| Diplm+6 | Appraise+9 | MWBattleaxe Melee +4 Attack bonus, 1d8+1, crt x3 ; CMD 14; 1185 gp 19sp

Yep, know that story -- remember, remember the 5th of November...right? LOL...we have New Years for the drinking...well and apparently most Sundays and Thursdays for those following the teams.

|Ruins |WBGoblins|RotRL| Emerald Spire|

I did a bit of research about Guy Fawkes after watching V for Vendetta. How big of a thing is he over there? Objectively, I can see, especially in todays political climate, how some would revere his actions. but none of the information I found really gave any indication of his fan base or following with the general mainstream populace. I get the feeling that with things the way they are around here, that if he were American, he would be elevated to cult status by now.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

I think a lot of people only know the rhyme because of V for Vendetta (which is an amazing film). I am not sure why Guy Fawkes is so important though, it is my belief that the government celebrate it to show people what will happen if they try to defy them and rebel. Where as the common person celebrates it to watch the fire and get drunk.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Healer/ Warrior 10

...isn't that pretty much the general perception for most holidays though?? lol

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone-Lord) 4 HP 48/48 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 (DR 2 / Adamantine, Light Fortification)| Fort+8 Ref +2 Will+7 | Initiative +1 | Perception +11 | Stone-Strike 4/4, Lay on Hands 3/3, Defensive Stance 8/8

The only holidays we really have are Easter (plus the days before and after), Guy Fawkes, Christmas (plus days before and after), and New Years. We have about 6-7 Bank holidays a year too, which last just for the Monday.

Out of those the only one that fits the criteria is Guy Fawkes. I understand you have quite a few more holidays in America.
