Even with the struggle going on below her, Merelinda can't help but snicker at the Captain's snarky comment. If earlier fights were any indication, the two men would carve the corpses apart in short order.
Merelinda Falvian
I'm halfway down the hole myself, so I'd likely find pushing him in a little difficult at the moment. Besides, the Captain has been a perfect gentleman, so he has no worries about taking unintentional plunges down the rabbit hole.

Answers to questions:
Tusara can fire, it's firing in to melee.
Yes Bayani needs a swim check every round because even though he is not moving anywhere, treading water is a form of swimming.
Ready for monsters turn?? Okay! Monsters turn...
Bayani Nishou
I see. If I fail the swim check by 4 or less, I can't move, but I can still attack. If I fail it by 5 or more I sink. Am I on the right track?

Right! At least that's how I read those rules.
Monsters:
A: claws Ivar. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
B: claws Bayani. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
C: claws Ivar. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 HIT!
A: swim 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 PASS
B: swim 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 PASS
C: swim 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 PASS
On the rotting flesh of these undead creatures you see tattoos. Their eyes glow with the same greenish glow as the undead creatures in the Temple of Ydersius. They look famished! They must have been crew mates who were buried alive what whatever "treasure" the crazy pirate captain buried here.

Round 2...GO!
Bayani Nishou
swim: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 Bayani moves back away from the creatures and throws another chakram at the same one he hit before.
chakram attack, pbs: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 = 16
damage if that hits with pbs and sharpening: 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 11
Captain Albrecht
To keep with my general helpfulness I feel I should point out that the hit on Ivar should be a crit right?
Ach! Zat one looked like it hurt! Be careful! Albrecht shouts while cupping his hands around his mouth, you know to make sure they can hear him.
Shoving short people down holes is mean :( I once had a halfing character that was through down a hole to a sarlacc thing by a paladin. The halfing was a rogue but I'm pretty sure that was unrelated.
Merelinda Falvian
Merelinda stays where she is on the rope, calling upon her goddess's power. Holy waves of energy pour out of her into the undead creatures below, the essence of life battling that of unlife.

Ivar an Bayani succeed in killing A and B with those rolls. Which leaves only C. MAP UPDATED.
C: claws Ivar. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 HIT!
A: swim 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 PASS
It then dives down into the water and is gone...
Yikes! Ivar is hurt badly.
END COMBAT
Bayani Nishou
"I want to continue the fight, but I am concerned about going into this water now..."
Are the bodies floating? Can Bayani retrieve his chakrams from them, or will he have to dive to the bottom to get them?
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
Ivar grabs the rope he came down, using his right hand and his legs to pull himself up; blood pouring from his shredded left shoulder, chest and ribcage, his left arm hanging limp, the axe dangling by its lanyard from his motionless hand, his own blood running down its handle dripping off its blades.
Eyes gazed over, lips blue, sounding shocked Ivar says:
I'm going back up top, I think I swallowed too much water
and he slowly pulls himself toward the light.
Merelinda Falvian
Merelinda follows Ivar's progress to the top, proceeding with him. Once there, she briefly touches his shoulder, murmuring an incantation. Seeing a minimal amount of his wounds close up, she repeats the process.
CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
Ivar climbs the rope, over the edge of the hole and lays on the ground staring at the sky, his blood pooling in the grass below him. When Merlinda touches his shoulder, he instinctively flinches, as the incantations starts he breaths a little easier, the blood flow slowing. He nods to Merlinda in appreciation laying where he landed waiting to see what the team wants to do.
Captain Albrecht
Do vee sink zis vas a trick or just a guard and zere is still treasure? I believe somethink is down zere but if it is vorth Albrecht looks at Ivar and shrugs. You vould be zee one goink back down Ivar so I sink it is up to you.

Ivar takes one of the healing potions out of his pack and drinks it

taking off his breastplate, slinging his shield on his back; he then winks at the captain and slides back down the rope, he will dive and swim after the ghoul.

MAP UPDATED.
Ivar swims to the bottom of the shaft. Seeing a soft glow coming from one side he explores and finds an opening. Swimming through this, he finds himself poping up in an underground chamber. The light comes from the shimmer of GOLD! In a chest!
The remaining undead pirate is here too, lying motionless, apparently dead from his wounds. You won't have any more trouble from him. I'm done with that encounter, haha!
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
Ivar swims back to the surface and calls up,
the ghoul was dead from its wounds, there is an underground chamber and a chest of gold, throw down the other rope in my pack and I will tie the chest off and we can drag it up.
when the rope is dropped Ivar will close and tie the chest, then drag it to the shaft, tying the rope to the other, then climb up and hall the chest up after.
what skill checks do we need to role?
Rhea Stardust
Ivar single handedly completes the task of hauling the heavy chest up. Onces topside you survey the loot...
3,500cp,
2,000 sp,
1,000 gp,
50pp,
a silk pouch of garnets and amethysts worth 500 gp in all,
a half-dozen moldered and ruined noble's outfits,
a bejeweled masterwork cold iron starknife worth 650gp,
a +1 darkwood buckler,
and a scroll (unidentified) in a watertight mithral scroll tube worth 500gp
Merelinda Falvian
Even on a desert island, Merelinda can not hide her grin as she surveys the treasure plundered out of the well shaft. If they ever made it back to civilization, this would see her live in comfort for quite some time, if she so chose.
"Back to the ziggurat, then, or what?" She saves a smile for the elf, winking at him as she gathers up anything that she might need to take along. If Sasha is along, she looks up at her through her long lashes, her smile holding a promise of pleasure, if desired.
Bayani Nishou
Bayani isn't hurt, and travels down into the hole again with Ivar. When they come across the ghoul again, he cautiously stabs it through the head with his rapier, though it turns out to be unnecessary.
Aboveground, he goggles at the wealth they have uncovered and gives everyone in the party a big hug and a very happy kiss on the lips. (Including Ivar and Albrect unless they push him away.) "Gold! Jewels! How extraordinary!"
He manages to calm down enough to cast Read Magic so he can examine the scroll.
I think Sasha stayed behind but Aerys came along.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
I didn't mean for Ivar to do all the work, just to get it started :) will Ivar be able to carry the chest or is it a two or three person job?
Ivar not realizing Bayani's intention, at the very last moment turns his face, presenting his cheek to the kiss. Realizing this must be some form of elven display of emotion Ivar shrugs and bear hugs Bayani back, lifting him off of the ground, spinning him about and laughing.
Ha Ha Ha, yes my elven friend, we are rich and we lived to tell
as things settle down, and Merelinda asks if they are going back to the ziggurat Ivar interjects.
I would still like to meet this Tengu fellow, Klorak, and I must collect some black obsidian from the volcano as well as some bananas. But we can do those things after we secure this booty. shall we return to the ziggurat.
then looking at Merelinda as she winks and smiles at Bayani, Ivar sighs and asks
Merelinda, why don't You take the darkwood buckler, or would you like Bayani to use it?
Merelinda could replace her small shield with the buckler or Bayani can "strap it on" for two more to his AC but arcane spell failure is still 5%, right?
Merelinda Falvian
"Hmmmm...well, with its magical properties I am sure it will do a better job than my current shield, and once I get my hands on some yellow and black paint I can get it up to snuff on the decorum side. I'll accept it, if Bayani doesn't want it. He seems to get in the thick of things more than I."
In relation to going to find Klorak, Merelinda shrugs. "I wouldn't be opposed to seeing the tengu, for information if nothing else."
Bayani Nishou
The 'darkwood buckler' is actually a light wooden shield, and Bayani can't use his bow if he is wearing it. A mithril buckler is in Bayani's future, but not just yet.
Bayani notices that Ivar turns his cheek, and frowns, "Forgive me, I forgot humans tend to be less enthusiastic with kissing and physical affection, especially between males. I've just never even seen such a treasure before!"
Merelinda Falvian
Oops, forgot!
As Bayani gives out his kisses of excitement, Merelinda lets hers linger a bit, emerald eyes sparkling mischievously. She sees the lovely sorceress attempting to read the scroll, and studies the woman, a bit intrigued.
Captain Albrecht
Whoohoo pirate treasure! Albrecht jumps up and claps his hands, with perfect dignity. Upon being kissed by Bayani: Oh hey, vell um yes. Ok zen thanks? He appears to be more surprised than anything.
Yes, yes! To zee tengu or back to zee temple I suppose to, heh, secure zee booty if it vould be too much trouble luggink zee chest around.
Rhea Stardust
Ivar not realizing Bayani's intention, at the very last moment turns his face, presenting his cheek to the kiss. Realizing this must be some form of elven display of emotion Ivar shrugs and bear hugs Bayani back, lifting him off of the ground, spinning him about and laughing.
Haha! Brosky hug!

Rhea Stardust
Ivar hoists the chest up! He can carry it for an hour or so but then needs help. Bayani and Albrect take a turn, with Tusara helping guide it. Then Ivar takes over again.
Zamoozi does not lead you back the way you came. Instead he leads you along the cost. The sea birds sing and the surf crashes upon the rocks below the cliffs you are hiking along.
Eventually you come to a very very interesting place. A place you even recognize from some of the carvings you saw in the Temple of Ydersuis.
Four stone monoliths appearing as jagged stalagmites of
rock protrude from the grass at the edge of this bluff. A
weathered, snake like rune is carved into the inner face of each
of these stones, all facing a three-foot-high pyramid-shaped
block of stone at the center of the four surrounding spires.
The vegetation and soil surrounding this pyramid has been
trimmed back and excavated to expose the strange block fully
to view. The peak of the central pyramid has a cup-shaped
indentation...channels run down the four sides into empty
basins at the base of the pyramid.
This place need not be adventured right now. Only remembered. Unless of course you guys are chomping at this APs bit!
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
Ivar sets down the chest and takes a seat on it, as he sets there he looks very carefully at the monoliths
well, you don't see that everyday, do we want to check it out now or do we want to take this stuff back
any knowledge check aid another, cause Ivar don't know nothing1d20 ⇒ 9 dddduuuuhhhh
perception check aid another, maybe that will help with the not knowing anything 1d20 ⇒ 4 well that's par for the course
what happens if we check it now and don't have enough hands to carry everything back :)
Rhea Stardust
Bayani clearly remembers the monoliths from the temple of Ydersius. Tusara remembers being bored at the depiction of spells being cast by such stones that were so powerful as to be obsurd. Yet, here are the stones from the images.
Merelinda Falvian
As the others study the monoliths, Merelinda will walk up to the curious stone in the middle, inspecting it as the others concentrate. She wasn't on the top of the ziggurat, instead she was...consecrating the ground where they were staying. She doesn't want to interrupt, so stands there, bored, as they think about the monolith and what it might mean.
Merelinda Falvian
Merelinda eyes the Ulfen suspiciously, then surmises that he is extending the olive branch, as some would say. She nods, sitting on the offered seat by the large man. "What's the big deal about this monolith, anyway?"
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
Ivar, answering Merelinda the best he could, points and says
those were in several pictures down in the temple you consecrated where we killed the lizard skeleton. Somebody said that the images must be symbolic, or something like that, because what the spell casters were doing were impossible, controlling the sea or sky or storms or some such. I got board and sat down, sort of like now. But, here are the stones so I wonder...
Ivars leaves the statement unfinished as his train of thought changes, then looking he asks
...is it supper time yet? Carrying all this treasure has made me hungry
then addressing the whole party he says
if, we can't figure it out, lets go back to the ziggurat and the temple and relook at the images. he smiles While you all are looking and reading; Zamoozi and I can get the coins out of the pond, ain't that right Zamoozi?
