Bayani Nishou
Bayani has sharpened his discs of death, restrung his bow, and is ready for the forest trip, wearing what has become customary for him now -- a pair of short trousers, his weapon belt, and his boots. His skin was already tanned from his Ekuaje heritage, but the sun of this tropical island is darkening him to a deep bronze.
He notices Merelinda smiling at the sunlight, and smiles back in response, before taking position next to Aerys and Ivar as they enter the jungle.
"If I may ask, Miss Aerys, how came you by these pistols, you called them? I've never seen weapons like them before. Are they magical?"
(Bayani's studies of the Mwangi Expanse didn't include the eastern side of Garund, and so he doesn't know about Alkenstar, where firearms are made.)
Knowledge(nature) on the frog: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
"I don't know what that frog is, friends, but anything that brightly colored in a jungle is likely to be poisonous or otherwise dangerous."
When the bird starts squawking, Bayani has his bow out and an arrow on the string almost instantly, before relaxing as he sees what the strange sound is. "I could try to shoot it... shall I?"
Knowledge(nature) on the flower: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
When they see the spiderweb with the huge dragonfly in it, Bayani immediately starts looking around for the spider. Someone else can try to free it if they want... Bayani's ready to alale alala the spider.
Perception for the brook: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
Ivar walks behind their monkey guide, doing a pretty good job of ignoring the flora and fauna. He is not surprised by Bayani's questions about the pistols to Aerys, he had been amazed the first time he had seen firearms. When they see the dragonfly in the spider web Ivar could not help but react. Slipping his shield on his back he grasps his axe with both hands.

Frog touching: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Too impressed with the frog's bright color to hear Bayani's warning Albrecht goes to touch it, to ill effect...
Merelinda Falvian
Merelinda returns the tanned elf's smile, giving his bronze skin a look of approval. As they walk along, she spies the red frog and keeps walking, having no desire to touch it. As the group continues, she spies the squawking bird, seeing Bayani nock an arrow. She holds her tongue, not wanting to seem bloodthirsty, but thinking that an addition to their diet might be welcome.
Giant flowers with faces seem like something to be wary of in the priestess's estimation, so she keeps her distance as they travel. She winces as Ivar cuts away the strands imprisoning the dragonfly, her imagination running wild at the thought of the spider that must have trapped it. She does bend closer to the brook, trying to discern its secrets.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Rhea Stardust
Great! I'll handle a few of the situations here, then end up with the spider situation last.
Bayani tries to warn Albrecht but it's too late. Albrecht reaches out to touch it and the frog LEAPS onto his face! From his face, as Albrecht is falling into the creek, the frog leaps onto a nearby tree branch. Purple spots form on your face where the frog's toes landed. -1 Charisma point temporarily until you heal up in days: 1d4 ⇒ 2 hahah!
Bayani identifies this flower as a Mwanganese Rainflower. They are harmless and don't do much that any other flower doesn't do. Accept one thing: when a soft rain falls upon them, their "faces" open their "mouths" and sing soft wordless songs to the forest.
The bird squaks and flys off. Last chance to shoot it!
Merelinda hears the brook in the back of her mind whisper an odd poem
Formless, Unyielding, I cling to this feeling
"Contain yourself" they said (well I think I won't!)
Know this, discerning, submit to this yearning
A gift-poem from calistria??
Rhea Stardust
*Hack hack hack*, the dragon fly in the web begins to beat it's powerful wings as Ivar frees it, creating a dreadful low BUZZZZZZZING sound. It's giant mandibles pinch back and forth as it turns it's head to look at you with it's bulbous fly-like eyes...
It looks like a dangerous bug.

Merelinda Falvian
Merelinda grins in confused delight as the brook whispers its secrets to her. It seemed to say exactly what she had been feeling these last few years! Not noticing that it seemed odd that a brook babbled anything to her, she continues on, even more exuberant than before.
As the Ulfen releases the dangerous creature, she rolls her eyes, not bothering with a verbal reprimand as she prepares to help subdue the creature, if needed.

The bird squaks and falls hard to the ground. Bayani has killed it. Zamoozi shakes his head. On the bird you find 5 neon feathers, each about 3 feet long. Zamoozi says the monkeys will value them highly.

I cannot find any rules about attacking a creature that has grappled an ally, but to honor the idea lets try this
Ivar seeing Bayani grabbed by the fly, drops his axe and drawing a boot knife as he steps forward he attempts to stab the beast in the soft underbelly before it can finish Bayani.

The priestess's eyes widen at Bayani's suddenly perilous predicament. Her crossbow having been relatively useless, she decides against firing another shot, instead calling upon her goddess for her healing flow. She steps forward, touching the grappled Bayani, trying to ensure he lives in case her companions can not finish the dragon fly thing.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Infuriated, Bayani holds the mandibles of the dragonfly away from his face with one hand, while drawing his rapier with the other. With a twist of his body, the elf attempts to stab the creature with the slender blade.
attack, -2 from grapple: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 3 - 2 = 20

Very close to death now the dragonfly is about to attempt one last crunch...1hp left. Mabe Tusara, Albrect or the Panther can kill it before it's turn?
Captain Albrecht
Bartimaeus Bite zee bug!
Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

On phone so can't move Barti
Rhea Stardust
I believe the dragonfly is denied its dex bonus to AC because he's grappling. Which means:
The panther crunches the bug in the back of the neck. It makes no audiable noise as it dies, except for the sickening crunck of it's blue-green shimmering exo-skeleton.
END COMBAT.
Merelinda Falvian
Seeing Bayani's condition, Merelinda steps forward and places her hand on his tanned chest, again calling upon Calistria to heal his wounds. As the divine energy flows through her into him, she runs her hand down his chest to his stomach, her smile all but gone but her eyes alight as she goes back to her assigned area in the party, picking up her crossbow as she goes.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
Ivar spits and then cuts the wings off of the dragonfly
don't know if these are worth anything but we'll find out
Ivar looks over Bayani hopefully he is healed more slaps him on the back and says
next time I'll leave the blasted thing on the web. Shall we go get your feathers
retrieving his axe Ivar is ready to follow Zamoozi
Bayani Nishou
Bayani smiles as the cool, soothing energy of healing washes into his body. "My thanks, priestess, " he says, meeting Merelinda's eyes and stretching his sore muscles. That should put him at 11 HP.
Bayani retrieves the bird's carcass and feathers and is ready to resume.
Rhea, did you see the question Bayani asked of Aerys earlier? I don't think I got an answer.
-Posted with Wayfinder
Rhea Stardust
Ah yeah, I forgot to answer that! My own fault for making too many things go on at once, haha!
Aerys is remarkably clear eyed this morning. She answer Bayani with a smile. These were given to me by my father. She hands one to Bayani for inspection. They are called "flinglocks". But there is no magic about them. Simply the wonder of modern science: sulfur and charcoal cleverly mixed together and lit by the spark of the flint struck by this hammer. She points out the mechanisms. Alas, I fear I've only a single horn of the powder that survived the shipwreck. Aerys looks up north, toward the volcanoe. I wonder if sulfer punctures the surface somewhere on the face of that magma pipe yonder.
Obviously when sober Aerys is a much more useful person.
Rhea Stardust
Night begins to fall. You come to a fork in the path. To the left you can hear the sound of rushing water. To the right the jungle clears a bit. Zamoozi holds up his hand to stop you.
Jungle dangerous at night. But we almost there. Continue to place where map says *points right rushing water sound*? Or stay in valley of the forest spirit until daylight return *points left toward the clearing*? Cryptic, sure, but that seems to be Zamoozi's style.
Merelinda Falvian
Frowning, the priestess gives her opinion on the matter. "If we are almost there, I say we press on. I don't fancy the idea of staying in a valley belonging to a spirit." She chuckles wryly, but her unease is apparent.
Happy New Years from US Central Time everyone.
Rhea Stardust
Zamoozi answers Ivar with a monkey-chuckle: Staying out at night anywhere in jungle can be dangerous. But no campfire needed in Valley of the Spirit. Another cryptic answer from a barely-helpful monkey...
Golarions' moon is nearly full, it's moonscar smiling down upon you like the red lipsticked mouth of a sensuous women. The air in the jungle will remain warm all night. Were it not for it's dangers this Island would truly be a paradise.
Captain Albrecht
I don't trust that monkey-chuckle I bet he still wants to eat us.
Didn't zee map say be on zee hill at sunrise? I say vee keep goink.
Albrecht nods at Merelinda then trys to make shifty looking eye movements to Ivar at Zamoozi. It probably makes Albrecht look crazy more than anything.
Edit: Trying to communicate with Ivar not Zamoozi.
