Bayani Nishou
Bayani takes on a focused mein, then his eyes acquire an eldritch glow.
"To command the very tides to rise up and eschew -- or maybe that's shew? -- what lies below: empower the four sentinel runes with the blood of a thinking creature tempered by the kiss of a serpent's tongue; annoint the tide stone with waters brought from the sea in a vessel of purest metal; invoke the lord's sacred name to wrap his coils around the sea itself that he might lay bare what lies below and cast down your enemies on the waves above."
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Knowledge(Geography): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
"These rituals seem absurdly powerful to me, beyond normal magic. Can mortals truly command such might? ...Hmm... this image here, is on this very island I believe. See this bluff? I saw that from the temple steps."
Captain Albrecht
Truly terrifyink but I doubt zey vould make such a carvink if it didn't happen, or perhaps it vas exaggerated. An army of zombies and partink zee sea... Either vay I suppose zis is vat snakey lady brought zee ship here for.
Tusara Khione
Tusara appears slightly disinterested. "There is nothing particularly difficult about that spell, and if snake lady planned on arriving here, then this would suggest her likely reason. The fact that we forced her to flee last time suggests you don't need to have supreme power to trigger the spell, heck, we could trigger it ourselves if it wasn't such an obviously bad thing to do."
Tusara broods for a moment before continuing "Anyway if we can find out where this pace is, we could travel there. If snake lady isn't there by now, she will arrive there eventually, and I wouldn't be particularly opposed towards having a rematch".
Merelinda Falvian
Merelinda thinks for a moment, then throws in her thoughts. "I would think these carvings are fancy at best, a grand scope of a plan at worst. I mean, this looks particularly powerful and insane, and I don't see snake people walking around like they own the world, you know? As Tusara said, this might be Ieana's goal, but from the looks of it she'll need a lot more than just what she has to offer to trigger things."
She looks around, not really interested in the snake folk's view of how things ought to be. "There were some other tunnels back there...should we explore them? I am about to heal us with the last of my gods-granted powers, so perhaps we should find a place to rest."
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
when Ivar, being interested in all things nautical, heard Bayani talk about controlling the tides it perked his interest, he stands up from his seat and asks
what did you say Bayani? "To command the very tides to rise up and chew" what does that mean? Could they control the tides here on the island? That could answer some questions, that's for sure. But I agree with Merelinda, lets get outa here, and finish killi...exploring... this cave. If we get worn out we can go up the rope and back after we rest.
Ivar then heads back the way they came
Ivar will wait at the pond area for the party and go clockwise to the next tunnel
does anyone need to stop now or are we good for a little?

MAP UPDATED.
Ivar steps into area V24: Cave Scrawlings
Faint carvings are just visible on the eastern wall of this cavern. The writings are in the Alko languange and if you can decipher it, the say
Merelinda Falvian
Merelinda takes out her dagger and starts to scratch at the marks on the wall, trying to mar them. "Let's see how Ydersius likes this." Her mind flashes back to the dream, and she stabs at the writing all the harder.
Rhea Stardust
Merelinda is able to scratch out much of the cave art. Much like the rest of the serpentfolk civilization, this cave art is now gone from the world forever...
Suddenly to the west you hear a snarling sound.
MAP UPDATED.
Tusara Khione
"Oh good, more monsters", Tusara remarks easily, magic flaring again. Perhaps we should investigate, if nothing more than to have a safe and peaceful sleep afterwards"
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
Ivar, again taking a seat on the floor leaning on the wall, may as well relax if we are taking a break He watches Merelinda scratch out the strange writing with her dagger and jumps to his feet when he hears the roar.Tusara is right we should investigate and taking axe and shield in hand he heads into the cave leading to the west, again using his axe as a lantern.
perception: 1d20 ⇒ 19 Bwa Ha Ha Ha
if someone else wants to take point just speak up, I don't want to hog all the action, but Ivar is built to be cannon-fodder so I don't mind,
Bayani Nishou
Bayani takes a position right behind Ivar with his trusty Chakrams in hand.
Shall we gather everyone together in a group? Ivar and Bayani wouldn't go forward without everyone else.
Captain Albrecht
Albrecht jumps up from where he was leaning against Bartimaeus much better than a wall while Merelinda was carving on the wall.
Yes, certainly lets go.
Albrecht follows after Bayani.

v25
MAP UPDATED.
As you peek into this room you see in the darkness, a skeletal being standing very still. He holds a long staff and his eyes burn with a purplish glow of necrotic energy.
In a very calm low voice the being asks: Which of you dared defile the scrawlings of praise to ydersius? Come hither that I may shew you her wrath...
It's time to fight: OLD SLITHERBONES
roll your own initiative and place yourselves on the map. He will not attack first.
Tusara Khione
Starting to wish I was level 3 right about now...
"It wasn't me", Tusara squeaks at the large skeletal being before podding the thing with a ranged touch attack.Rag of Frost
Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Captain Albrecht
Is inside v23 with the door closed an acceptable map position?
Albrecht moves inside and casts grease on his staff DC 17 Ref or drop

queaks at the large skeletal being before podding the thing with a ranged touch attack.Rag of Frost
haha, the RAG of Frost? sounds super terrifying, lol! ranged touch Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 TOUCH HITS!
Rhea Stardust
But oh no! He's immune to cold, like most skeletons of his type!!
but he 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 doesn't save VS grease! He drops his weapon...

Merelinda - draws blugeoning weapon and tells a lie.

Having dropped it's spear, the snake skeleton draws a long long long sword from his hip and ATTACKS Ivar with ferocious attack of attacking.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 sonufa! This dungeon is WAY too easy.
ROUND 2. Go!!!
Merelinda Falvian
Merelinda steps forward to join the melee, activating another copy of herself as she does so. She keeps her small shield between her and the creature, swinging her light mace with as much force as her slight frame can muster.
Attack!: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Bayani Nishou
Bayani hesitated, trying to think of what this creature was, and lost his chance at a clear shot. He runs in and tries an angled throw, avoiding Ivar and attempting to take off one of the skeleton's legs at the knee. It glances off the bone, doing no damage, and lands somewhere behind the target.
1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 = 13
"Blast! It's immune to cold, I think, Tusara," Bayani says when he sees Tusara try to fire a ray of cold at it.
In general, rather than looking for AC, I would be more trying to remember weaknesses, e.g. Damage reduction and what bypasses it.
Rhea Stardust
SLITHERBONES leans back, just enough that Merelinda's mace misses his cheek. Ahhh, I am delighted to be surrounded once again! Do you know this has not happened to me since the forces of Azlant stormed this Island...nine thousand years ago! hahahah! I hear mephisto's voice, from Diablo II, in my head when this guy speaks, haha! ref save VS grease: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21. Then Ivar's axe chops it's collar bone, severing it's right arm. Ahhh, I love battle! hollers the snake skeleton, staring up at the ceiling!
Rhea Stardust
Slitherbones takes a 5 ft step right, to face off with Merelinda. He sniffs the air around her, taking in her aroma. Ah, a priestesssss! Do you not know that defiling the shrine of ydersius brings forth swift death?!
He swings his longsword at her 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 CRACK! The longsword finds deep purchase cutting Merlinda's bossom from left to right. Slitherbones speaks to the ground as Merelinda's life drains from her belly and pools on the on the floor: Blood of a modern priestesss! Drink deeply, shrine, of the blood of ydersius' enemies!
haha! You asked for oldschool narration...
ROUND 3 GO!
Captain Albrecht
CRACK?
Albrecht guides Bartimaeus all the way around the cave and behind Skele-fellow to flank with at least Merelinda not sure about Ivar.
Delighted to be surrounded eh?
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Rhea Stardust
Ooop! for some reason I glanced at your HP instead of your AC! This is what I get for trying to play at work:( Sorry Merelinda. He does NOT hit.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
edit: you said 5ft step so no AoO um does Ivar get an AoO? so next round attack
Ivar pivots and swings at the skeleton as it steps away from him
time to finish this
battleaxe using weapons versatility for bludgeoning attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 for damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
critical confirmed attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 for damage: 2d10 + 8 ⇒ (6, 5) + 8 = 19
Edit: 5 ft step so no AoO oops sorry if Ivar gets an AoO
Ivar then pivots a second time and attacks the skeleton again on the back swing
battleaxe using weapons versatility for bludgeoning attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 for damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Merelinda Falvian
The priestess wards off the skeleton's attack with her shield, her arm reverberating painfully from the shock absorbed through her shield. Irritated, she demands, "Shut up!" She is so upset, she doesn't even want to hold onto her weapon.
Mace: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Rhea Stardust
Well you are making up for running away last time Ivar!
Monster has 2HP left.
Reaching into it's sagging clothing SLITHERBONES pulls out a vial and quaffs it down. CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2. It wipes it's bone mouth with it's fore-arms. Ah, ydersius' nector!
Monster has 4HP left.
