Guiness' successive strikes dent and crush the scanderig's limbs, leaving it on the verge of death, only for Ziva to come in and practically cleave the fiery monstrosity in two. Molten metal sprays from the massive wound as it crashes against the base of the stairs - certainly dead.

Mokmurian scowls, eyeing Colvyn as the ratfolk readies to fire.

Astrid's summons batter the remains of the wall of stone until it shatters, reduced to rubble! That's enough to open the full 10-ft wide doorway. Beyond, you see the dense fog from before, which you recognize will slow (at least some of you) down considerably.

With Colvyn visibly readying an arrow, Mokmurian instead lifts off into the air, held aloft by magic. He weaves between the pillars until he's floating 10 feet above Colvyn. His holds his runic club above Colvyn, then slams it down like a judge announcing his verdict. From Colvyn's shrunken perspective, it's like a stone pillar falling directly down atop him. Colvyn fires off a last moment shot (even though you readied to disrupt a spell cast that never happened, I'll give it to you), but even as the arrow lands, it fails to stop the momentum of Mokmurian's attack. The club lands on Colyvn, crushing him and dropping him to the floor with an accompanying flash of negative energy. (Colvyn takes 34 bludgeoning and 17 negative energy damage)

Mokmurian seems invigorated by the attack. He plucks the arrow free from where it struck him, tosses it aside, and then says "So much bluster for someone of his size. You would think he were invincible."

Colvyn, I've assumed you were flying less than 10 feet above the ground and therefore didn't take fall damage upon falling unconscious.

Guiness releases his connection to the stone as the fiery creature perishes. Hearing some noises in the fog, he hopes his allies are on their way, but seeing Colvyn go down spurs him to action. Flipping the flaming Dragonfist into his shield hand, Guiness pulls a healing potion with his right hand and angles his shield upward.

Approaching within 5' of Colvyn while trying to use the column as cover from the flying giant, Guiness hopes to be able to save his friend next round.

Colvyn sees the coming down toward him. "Holy..." He is unable to finish as the weapon makes contact.

After a flash, Colvyn opens his eyes to see he is now in a line with other people in a place he can only describe as the Boneyard. "Crap!"

Like a giant, magical, flying, feline, Kellek double moves slowly through the solid fog guided by the sound of the giant's voice and his newly enhanced sense of smell from concealment and his flank upon the wall.

Once inside the room but still in the fog he floats straight up until he can see the top edge of the cloud. More moving. He was in position to see the room's height and the back stair before all of the walls went up so he's hoping the cloud doesn't reach the ceiling.

"With me!" Astrid shouts to her summoned azatas, charging into the fog and bursting out the other side. When her troops catch up with her, she issues another set of commands, sending two to Colvyn's aid and the others to engage Mokmurian, before working to unburden Ziva's limbs.

While Kellek approaches, Astrid and her azata crew surge out of the solid fog. She dispels the slow on Ziva. Healing spells flow into Colvyn, bringing him back to consciousness. Meanwhile the two other bralani approach Mokmurian, each earning an attack of opportunity as they approach. (Yellow takes 21 dmg after resist, blue 26 dmg). Their own attacks merely batter ineffectually against the wards protecting the giant.

Mokmurian grimaces as he floats higher up into the air. He flexes his free hand, then swiftly sends a deadly volley of scorching rays at Astrid. The rays have no trouble piercing her magical resistance, and leave her badly burned (15 dmg, 16 dmg, 15 dmg) He follows by sketching out a more intricate magic, and a moment later a deadly yellow-green fog pours forth from his open hand to fill the air beneath him. (specifically, the fog obscures sight in the new yellow circle on the map. It rises from ground level to a height of 20 feet).

As he sees Colvyn get a bit of healing and Mokmurian retreat upwards somewhat, Guiness laments that he has no capability to fly…but then when the deadly fog comes down, he realizes both he and Colvyn are in immediate danger.

Scooping up the tiny archer and his bow in one swift motion, Guiness carries them as far as he can, trying to get out of the fog (moving 20 feet towards the stairs, so down to the left). If they make it out of the fog, he releases Colvyn and allows him to take the healing potion if he likes.

Astrid pushes through the sickening cloud to the far side, where her summoned allies are already summoning a blast of wind to blow away the noxious fumes. She releases a wave of healing energy even as two of the others go to Guinness's aid.

Eyes going wide at the billowing, toxic fog, Ziva propels herself upwards at a steep angle to come to grips with the giant wizard. She puts everything she has into the swing at his thigh, desperately trying to end the mage before he ends them. Luckily he seemed to be preoccupied by a...flying...tiger(?)...that was batting at his head? The strangeness of wizards never ceases to amaze.

Up 15ft and over 10ft, giving Ziva a total elevation of 25ft which puts her outside the area of the Cloudkill going forward. Vital Strike with Power Attack + Crane Wing

@Colvyn+Guiness: Carrying Colvyn is OK especially since he's tiny, but he'll lose a move action in the process. Colvyn will end up on his feet after he's released by Guiness. I assume he spends his remaining move action reclaiming his bow afterward. Moved both of your tokens to safety!
@Astrid: Mokmurian doesn't seem tricked by mirror images.

Guiness and Colvyn get free of the deadly cloud, with the dwarf dropping the currently-tiny ysoki back onto his feet. Kellek bursts out of the solid fog, catching Mokmurian momentarily by surprise. His jaws catch on Mokmurian's arm, but he finds they can barely pierce the surface of the giant's skin. (DR!) His claws batter against the giant's wards without effect. Ziva bursts out of the cloudkill, only to be struck solidly on her sword arm by Mokmurian's club as she approaches. (19 dmg) The giant's parries her attack, throwing her off balance.

Mokmurian surveys the situation with a surprising degree of calm for how quickly the party is stabilizing things. He casts defensively, summoning up a tiny fiery bead that he fires southwest. Where it impacts the side of the stairs, it explodes into a massive fireball. (Catching all four Bralani, Astrid, Guiness and Colvyn. Ziva flew up and out of it)

Astrid shields herself from the worst of the fireball. (18 dmg) Her bralani allies have mixed results (2x 8 dmg, 2x 27 dmg). Guiness and Colvyn, having just emerged alive from the cloud and from unconsciousness in Colvyn's case, are caught unprepared. The burst engulfs them. (36 dmg to Guiness after resist, 7 dmg to Colvyn after 30 pts resist from shield of wings) The fireball burns away much of the poisonous fog, leaving the remains of the cloudkill to drift slowly southward and away from the action.

Mokmurian floats away from Kellek and Ziva, cornering Astrid and her bralani against the stairs. (Provokes from both Kellek and Ziva. Mokmurian, for all his powers, is definitely not acrobatic!)

Leaving his CMW potion with Colvyn, Guiness gains altitude the only way he can--up the stairs. Seeing the giant's formidable defenses, he starts trying to hatch a plan as his short legs piston him up the stairwell above where Mokmurian floats (double move).

After that painful reminder not to underestimate the giant, wizard or not, Ziva delivers a stinging rebuke the second he gives her an opening. Flying after him she tries to keep the pressure on.

Vital Strike again but no Power Attack this time. I have not included Flank or Sneak Attack in thi role since I don't think Astrid or summons have the reach to threaten; AC33 with Crane Style

While Guiness repositions, Ziva's rebuke cuts into the back of Mokmurian's leg, giving him his first significant wound thus far. He looks back for just a moment before continuing on to Astrid. By the time Ziva closes the distance once more, Mokmurian is ready for her and blocks her strike with his own hammer.

Colvyn is about to take a step forward in the line when he is yonked right back in the fight. He tries to take a deep breath, but the air is filled with a stinking and disgusting fog that burn his throat and eyes. Is vision is blurred with tears as he feel getting pick up and carry out of the fog. Regonizing Guiness he barely have time to say a thank you that the dwarf already put him back down and move away.

Colvyn then gets his bearing and gets back into the fight. He starts by spending another fervor to increase his endurance and flies up the ground toward Guiness. As he does, he picked another giant's bane arrow and send it flies.

Burned and bleeding, Astrid nonetheless offers up a pained smile to the giant threatening her, before disappearing with a sudden pop of air rushing into fill a void. A heartbeat later, she reappears behind two of her summoned allies, who heal her wounds before stepping into a protective formation in front of her. The two bralani closest to Mokmurian advance on the giant to support Ziva's assault.

Colvyn's arrow weaves its way between wards and armor with precision, striking true against Mokmurian. Meanwhile Kellek shifts back to a more humanoid form. Astrid is whisked away by magic, with her two allies providing a surge of healing that brings her back from the brink. The other two bralani aren't able to fight past the giant's defenses with their scimitars.

Mokmurian, not to be deterred, flies up and around the pillars, drawing ire from the two bralani and Ziva on the way (provoking AoOs), then settles just above Astrid and Colvyn. He weaves another spell, tossing it directly down to catch Astrid, Colvyn, and all four of her summons.

Cursing under her breath as the layers of wards around Mokmurian foil her attempt to perforate his lungs, the flighting knight gives the bralani a nod of solidarity before the group of them swoop after the giant. "Cornered yourself," she taunts as the stone giant is swarmed by smaller foes. "Nowhere to run now, Mokmurian."

Basically Ziva wants the bralani to eat the AoO; if necessary she'll delay until that happens, then move to be directly above the giant.

Using the height granted by being at the top of the stairs, Guiness runs along the ledge above and leaps down at Mokmurian who is hovering over the bottom of the stairs. Propelled by his Ring of Jumping, the dwarven warrior attempts to crash into the giant and grapple it, hoping to limit its capability to move about and cast spells at will!

Guiness throws himself from a higher step, his ring giving him just enough elevation to get into arms reach of Mokmurian. His open grasping hand (hammer dropped?) however slides off the giant's magical wards and he find himself tumbling toward the ground.

The green bralani slightly scratches Mokmurian as the giant passes. While Colvyn focuses on defense and edges away from the giant, Astrid unleashes binding chains of light, just barely concentrating well enough of the more complex defensive casting. Mokmurian attempts to twist out of the way, but ends up caught and fixed in place. A quartet of lightning bolts pass into him, two proving particularly spot-on hits.

On his turn, Mokmurian struggles against the chains and manages to break free, but is left without enough time to pursue his momentary captor.

Guiness lands on his feet and is able to retrieve his hammer. Meanwhile Mokmurian's eyes flick from side to side as he takes in the cascade of lightning bolts lashing out in his direction. He dodges all but one of them, but still ends up all but blackened. Despite the absolute barrage of energy, he's still flying, though he looks badly injured.

As jagged lines of lightning crisscross through Mokmurian's torso Ziva lets loose a battle cry and brings her sword down on his head!

Thanks to Astrid's debilitating spell, Ziva is able to weave her attack between Mokmurian's wards and lands her blade upon the giant's skull. Despite the unnatural resilience of his skin, the blade sinks a solid inch in, and as she tugs it free, Mokmurian lets out a howl of pain.

He clutches at the wound oozing with blood "No... you... my ambition. My glory! You won't..." He grits his teeth to attempt to stave off unconsciousness. "He will bring me back... I will... My great campaign with march on. You-" But he's simply too grievously injured to continue. His eyes roll back and he falls, drifting slowly to the ground.

Combat Over!

However, just as his body is about to slump against the stairs, it grows rigid. He spasms a few times and then his head twists all the way around to look at each of you. The eyes slide open as if forced into movement by invisible hands. In a strangely accented voice and in Common rather than Giant, he speaks, his eyes flaring with a soul-searing emerald radiance.

"The newest heroes of this age, I see. Delightful, a pleasure to make your acquaintance. It is ever so interesting to meet individuals willing to sacrifice themselves so." The corpse of Mokmurian contorts its face into a grotesque smile. "Ah now, I see the path you've cut through my dear followers. So much blood shed. A terrible cost. I can assure you sincerely that you have frustrated me terribly." A laugh echoes from Mokmurian, dry and mechanical "Of course, you've also done me a small service. With each giant you've hastened to the grave, you have equally helped to hasten my return. Quite convenient that, don't you think? A contingency I am, I admit, rather proud of. So please, keep at it. Without their leader, I won't have much use for the rest of them, and who knows, perhaps they'll decide to maraud in the direction of your beloved hometowns next. Perhaps a little bird might even seed that idea in their tiny skulls."

The dry laughter grows louder and Mokmurian's corpse throws its head back. "Know this my new friends. Ten thousand years have done nothing to diminish my benevolence. Soon, this world will be returned to its rightful state, under the enlightened rule of Karzoug!"

With a loud crack, Mokmurian's head snaps clean off and flies across the room to smash into the wall. The light quickly fades from its eyes. Meanwhile the remainder of the corpse falls limp against the stairs and grows still.
