All three arrows from Colvyn strike the mummy's wrappings, but only one stabs through them and into its arm burning with divine fire as it does. Stunned, Ziva can't provide much of a distraction, but Guiness is able to rely on the spiritual ally to distract the mummy for a moment and land a single solid blow.

The mummy, though injured, is not to be dissuaded in its single-minded mission to destroy all invaders. It unleashes another blindingly quick flurry of strikes. Two of the blows fall upon Ziva, the first once more knocking the sense out of her before the second takes her out. (35 dmg, which is enough to knock her out when combined with the con damage)

The remaining strikes land one after another upon Guiness' shield and armor. He weathers the assault with any serious harm. The mummy drifts in the air toward Astrid slowly and carefully.

Astrid's spiritual ally remains a distraction, but it's attacks aren't able to break through the mummy's lightning fast defensive deflections. Next to Astrid, Ziva manages to stabilize. On the other end of the room, Colvyn releases a flurry of arrows. While the mummy manages to dodge and deflect most, one particularly well aimed shot embeds itself in the mummy's chest right where its heart should be.

The mummy, seeing how Guiness held it off, flies away from him and at a particular dangerous foe, Colvyn! The mummy's blackened palms reach out for him, but he dodges to the side.

Guiness' attack of opportunity clobbers the mummy on a spot right between its shoulder blades as it turns away from him. While not a critical hit, it still deals considerable damage. His follow up on the other hand - for all the skill he puts into the swing - is knocked aside by one of the mummy's blackened arms.

Kellek spots an opening for a fireball as the mummy floats toward Colvyn. His fireball bursts above the heads of the group, the edge almost engulfing the mummy. It's reflexes however are uncanny, and it manages to dodge the flames and emerge entirely unscathed! (Evasion!)

Seeing the cleric at work an idea occurs to Kellek. Quickly, he flies across the chamber towards Ziva and Astrid. Still hovering a few feet off the floor he reaches down and touches Astrid on the shoulder. With a word of magic she vanishes from sight in a soft purple puff of smoke.

Kellek casts greater invisibility on Astrid. It was either that or disintegration. ;)

While Astrid vanishes, Colvyn ducks past the mummy's guard and lands a solid holy thwack with his bow. The mummy floats forward, relentless and blackened arms flexing. A hail of blows fall upon Colvyn, who attempts to interpose a stone slab. The uncanny movements of the creature's punches arc around the stone, smashing the ysoki against the wall of the tomb blow after blow. (63 damage in total, which combined with 2 negative levels is enough to KO Colvyn)

Open if no one has anything to avert Colvyn's KO:
Single-mindedly, the mummy continues to smash Colvyn's prone form. (Dealing an additional 71 dmg while Colvyn is prone and unconscious, slaying him)

Ah, I completely missed the spoiler. In that case, I'd use my Divine Interference feat on one of the successful attacks (before he gets knocked out) by sacrificing hold person, so the monk would have to reroll with a -2 penalty. Can we see if that works? Otherwise I'll try to revive him.

In a moment of divine intervention, you all see two versions of Colvyn superimposed upon each other for a flash. One Colvyn is a pulverized heap lying upon the tomb's floor. The other Colvyn is badly beaten but not down, having dodged and deflected the mummy's remaining punches. The images waver for a moment, before resolving into a single Colvyn, still standing!

A breath later, Ziva and Guiness converge upon the mummy, finally breaking past its near-flawless guard to deliver a single powerful strike each. Blade and hammer sink deep into the mummy's wrappings, the body beneath yielding. And then both weapons tear through, breaking the malignant guardian for good!

Combat Over!

A burst of ancient ancient ash and dust burst free from the corpse, showering those of you nearby, while the gleaming scroll case rolls out of its arms and to a stop on the floor below.

The ancient scroll case lying on the floor glows with a bright green light. Its outer surface at least appears to be made of adamantine, and it has no easy latch or lid to open it. Instead, you notice it has a series of interconnected spinning rings all along its length that seem to function almost like a series of combination locks. Thassilonian text - seemingly a series of threats of legal punishment for inadvertent tampering, by the order of the Peacock Spirit - crowds the remaining surface of the case.

(Opening the case requires either 5 sequential disable device checks or 5 sequential INT checks by someone who knows Thassilonian)

Kellek inspects the case with his spell for detecting magic and his knowledge of such things.

First, Kellek looks the thing over noting any auras and their types. He tries to identify any intrinsic magic in the case through his knowledge of Spellcraft (+20; he Takes 10 if able).

He bends his mind to what he knows about the Peacock Spirit (he takes 10 and uses the modifiers listed above).

Then, if it appears safe he picks it up and takes it inside to his desk and suggests that Colvyn work on it. If anyone can help he has them aid. In particular anything that could help with the Disable Device check (like guidance), Colvyn's saves, etc....

Kellek recognizes a powerful abjuration aura emanates from the scroll case, and this aura appears to be from magic designed to reinforce the case and protect from tampering. Failed attempts to open the case will likely trigger the magic, which seems designed to impair the opener. The magic will not trigger by touch, so it should be safe to handle.

He recognizes the Peacock Spirit as the name of a god or goddess of ancient Thassilon. The faith's tenets and principles are nowadays shrouded in mystery, though its followers practiced rune magic and had a scholarly bent to them. As far as modern scholars are concerned, the Peacock Spirit does not appear to correspond to a modern-day deity.
