Flo moves out of the house just in time to see her angry friend get stuck with a pair of arrows. "Kargas, be careful!"
She quickly raises her hand, wreathed in a warm light, and releases a wave of energy over the party.

As Cade walks down the steps, he looks over at the bloody carcass that was the last kobold on this floor.
I told you that you could do better Kar...gas.
He notices his knew ally that a moment ago was upstairs with him, come running down the stairs and out the back door.
I guess he saw what I saw
There is a group of Gob..lins..
He see that he is all alone in the store.
Ah man...why am I the last one to know what the hell is going on around here.
That was what that women was saying
Alright already, I am coming
Double move to be outside

Rig Veda |

Ha! The one time countersong might actually help and I don't have it.

Rune GM |

Cade joins the others outside.
The goblin to the far left comes running towards the group, with a dogslicer in one hand and a torch in the other. She is wearing a bridal veil and the tattered remains of a wedding dress, which was once white but is now filthy. "Me first! Me first!" she shouts as she runs in front of the other goblins.
The singing goblin also runs forwards and takes a shot with his shortbow from behind the other goblins.

Rig begins orating and runs up with Kargas.
The civilians by the cliff, realizing that most of their guards are distracted, begin to make a run for it. But the two remaining goblin guards move up with their dogslicers, trying to get them before they escape!

One of the men is cut in the thigh as he tries to run past the goblins, but the other goblin fails to catch the woman as she tries to escape.
Two of the goblins drop their bows and draw dogslicers. They advance on Kargas!

Laurana Kanan |

Laurana put her hand to her waist and when she brought it back she was momentarily shocked - blood, her blood. She had never before been hurt like this. She looked away, she couldnt bare to look at the wound at that moment and focused on her enemies. She would end up a lot worse if they did not end this threat.
Striding forward in anger she screamed at the the little beasts, "O dhel'dec kekhaan rhaan. Dar or dech drec dhuul or toch!" At least she thought it sounded like a good insult.
She then gripped her bow hard and felt the power flow from it. The power coiled around her other hand and the leapt into the the air before splashing down immediately behind and between the goblin in white and blue. Suddenly, the ground was covered in slippery grease that was under the two goblins and almost reached a black goblin coming forward. As she did so, she foresaw... Use this 10 instead of the 9
I tried to block this out on the map but failed. I am looking to place it so both blue and white goblins are affected without hitting party members. Also, move 5 left and 15 up.

Rune GM |

Okay, I think I got your grease area in place. The trick is that the background map image has to be at the "back." So when you drop your thing on the map, click "Arrange," then choose "Order," then "Send to Back," which will put it under the map, then "Bring Forward" which will make it the layer second from the back, i.e. just in front of the map image.
Laurana runs forward and casts a spell. The area north of Kargas is suddenly covered with slippery grease! One of the goblins (blue)slips and falls!
Laurana: We'll have to have a conversation about how Prescience works with saves but strictly speaking you shouldn't be able to swap it with one of those numbers as what you are rolling are basically their saves, not yours. Inverted saves is there to save time, not change mechanics.

Technically, it's a combat maneuver, but I see no reason not to allow it. Dodge bonuses work against combat maneuvers. However, the move does provoke an AoO from blue, and your AC bonus only applies to the attack that triggered the Deed.

Oops, looks like Laurana ninja'ed my last post by 3 minutes. Didn't see that last time.
Laurana: when you shoot an opponent that is in melee, don't forget there is a -4 penalty to hit. You still hit with that shot. You also forgot Rig's performance which he started again (I suppose I should have put that on the initiative list). So you actually did 7 damage.
Laurana shoots the goblin chasing the woman and child. It drops with a gurgle.
Colvyn: your target is already dead when you were ready to let fly. This is actually good for you since your shot was a miss thanks to the -4 penalty for cover. So you can take a different action.
Actually... to speed things up I'm going to assume that you stayed in your original position and shot at green. Green would not have cover and is not in melee, so that shot is a hit.
Colvyn shoots across the battlefield and strikes the lone goblin to the west. "@#*$%!! I'll get you mouse-man!"
Cade and Floredana strike at the singing goblin from both sides. He calls to the one remaining standing goblin. "Gork! Help! Get over here!"

The remaining dying goblins are quickly dispatched by the adventurers (unless you want to keep any of them alive?).
Rifling through the goblin's gear doesn't reveal a whole lot of value. They are all wearing leather armor and are equipped with dogslicers (goblin shortswords) and shortbows, but they are crudely made and though functional, they not worth much in a human marketplace.
Both the goblin bard and the goblin in the wedding dress have two potions apiece. Laurana is able to identify the potions (by taking 10); three are potions of cure light wounds and one is a potion of spider climb. All at minimum CL.
Between the various goblins there are 20 gp and 107 sp in coins.
There are also a bunch of bizarre objects, such as:
* a quiver decorated with dog ears,
* a live toad
* a jar of pickled halfling toes
* a toasting fork,
* a bridal veil,
* a halfling ladies’ corset,
* 20 feet of rope with dead moles sewn into it,
* a jar of human perfume (half drunk),
* a meat hook
* a set of false teeth,
On top of all that the bride-to-be goblin has a pocketful of caterpillars. A nice surprise for whoever was searching the body.

Flo finally begins to relax a little. "We made it everyone! Now... Who are you people? I am Floredana and I work with Father Zantus at the Cathedral."

Rune GM |

Did Girard not get healed by Father Zentus?
No... Girard, Rig, and Shayliss were a bit further away from the rest of the group, though you are welcome to point out to Father Zantus that Girard needs help.
The healing Rig gives is enough to stop Girard's bleeding, though he remains unconscious.

"Where are my manners? I apologize. In all the ruckus... My name is Rig. I'm a traveling entertainer. And I'm glad I was in the right place at the right time to be able to lend a hand. I take it that goblins aren't part of the planned festivities?"
if Flo will allow it, he would take her hand and briefly press his forehead and then lips to it. If not, he would give her hand a brief shake and a nod.
"If the unpleasantness has ended, I sure could use a drink."

Laurana Kanan |

Laurana thought it weird, this was the first sentient life she had taken and yet she was not upset about it, in fact, she was strangely giddy. But as the last of the foes fell, so did her adrenaline high and arrow in her side began to pain her. It was then the Father appeared and with a blessing from Desna washed over her.
The arrow was pushed out of her and her wound healed, good as new. She ran a hand over her pale flesh where the wound was a moment before. Truly, the gods were as good as the magic she wielded. "Thank you father. Uhh, sorry it has been so long since I have attended service." Apparently Desna didnt care if she attended or not.
At that point she heard Shayliss. In an unusual, moment of stoic heroic effort on her part, Laurana turned to the vixen. "Shayliss, I am sorry. I am just glad he should make it. But I fear others arent as lucky. Gavin Doone lies dead in the jewelers shop." She completed the last with downcast eyes.
And just as quickly she was if not happy, energetic again, "Thank you all for saving us." Although the thanks was over the top, you could tell she meant it.

Cade Goodbarrel |

Cade looks back at the Goblin that struck him and then along towards the the Goblin that was singing. He seems to be calculating distance or something along those lines. He just looks on back and forth. He then looks down at his shirt and the blood that drips down his side from the freshly healed wound. His smile is not there. One of the few times that he is not smiling.
was it the grease or maybe he just got lucky....it can not be luck..no way that f!*+er had that much luck. How the hell did he get through my defenses. Did I piss off some Goblin deity...Ah f&*! me....did I piss off a Gnome god. No f#%~ing way, has to be dumb luck that is all.
Coming out of his internal rant, Cade looks over at the civilian that are still about.
Father Zantus says that the cathedral is a safe haven and all should make their way to it at once. Do not tarry as there could still be Goblins about.
Cade's smile returns as he moves to join his companions. He stops beside the half orc and looks up at him
Not everyone is as strong as you nor as good looking as me, most are not warriors but civilians and need protecting.
He looks up at the woman and continues to smile.
Cade, Cade Goodbarrel....Lets see about getting your cousin to safety shall we.
To all the compnaions that are around him
Lord, Ladies...we should escort these two to the cathedral and then see about anymore Goblins running about. Once the town is secured, everyone can join me for a drink at the Rusty Dragon. I got the first round.....and Kargas you got the rest...
Cade laughs as he starts to walk beside the townsfolk.

Shayliss Vinder NPC |

"... Hard to dodge a blow you don't see coming because you won't face the foe."
Shayliss frowns, and begins to retort angrily. "With what? We were..." then she gets a good look at Kargas' imposing figure, and she shrinks back. "..were unarmed. What... um... should we have done...?"
"He'll be alright. He just needs some rest."
"Oh, thank you! You really have saved us!" Shayliss beams at Rig.
"I'm so sorry ma'am, I hope he is Ok! Is he a friend of yours?" She says while putting a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Shayliss nods to Floredana, and gives her a weak smile. "Thanks you. He is my cousin. He came to town for the festival."
if Flo will allow it, he would take her hand and briefly press his forehead and then lips to it. If not, he would give her hand a brief shake and a nod.

Father Zantus NPC |

After surreptitiously stuffing the toad into his satchel, Kargas grunts appreciatively when the old priest channels "Thanks, priest. Where's the next mob of little green gits?"
"Desna knows. They infiltrated the town by stealth. The alarm has been sounded now, and the guard is in the streets. Hopefully that will scare them off."
"...But I fear others arent as lucky. Gavin Doone lies dead in the jewelers shop." She completed the last with downcast eyes.
"I'm sure he's not the only one, but... it could have been so much worse. I thank the stars that you were there when the goblins attacked the square. So many people crowded into one place. It could have been a slaughter."
Father Zantus sees that Girard is still in need of healing, and goes to his side.
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Though not fully healed yet, Girard wakes and starts to rise.
"Shayliss, your father is at the cathedral. You should go there; he is worried."

Kargas Stormscar |

Kargas stars at Shayliss and Cade as though they'd each sprouted a second head. "You two have got to be kidding...maybe carry a dagger? And learn to use it? It's a damn dangerous world and goblins are on the low end of that food chain!"
Looking around, Kargas frowns. "My pack. I left it back by the drink stand where we were talking, Flor. Gotta go get my stuff."
