GM Mort |
Mage armor? =)
Mort, I realize while we were in the fairyland we were at full stats, but did we remain there or did we return to our normal numbers when we returned?
Everyone returns to their normal numbers, except Einar has an extra round of rage from having a swig.
Crummock-i-Phail |
With a grin, Crummock casts a by-now familiar spell, trying to hit the flying witch.
Sound Burst: 1d8 ⇒ 7 Sonic damage. DC 19 Fort save, or be Stunned for 1 round.
Hirah Cheran |
Since its not come up, anyone having an objection to Hirah taking that potion of Fly? I'd probably take the potion (would that be a move action?), cast Invisibility (Standard), and take to the air the following turn, drinking the potion at that point. All of this unless we really want Einar flying.
Hirah Cheran |
Ugh really?
What did we use it on, we had it up until very, very recently T_T
Crummock-i-Phail |
Crummock *really* did not like what she did to the children...
Hirah Cheran |
I have no idea how heavily that was communicated since back when we had a falling log we talked about someone invisible and flying, so either we have more ways of flight or I wasn't the only person who thought we had it. Still, this would have been a really useful thing to communicate - since she otherwise would have stocked up.
Crummock-i-Phail |
That said, PCs should always stock up on things they need - if someone wanted to keep the potion of Fly, they should have said something, and I wouldn't have used it (instead buying my own).
Moreover, no-one at the time indicated that we should keep it as 'party loot', so if I hadn't used it, it would have been sold.
Hirah Cheran |
Ah but how can we know it's gone when we don't get told that it's being used? As you said, I had no IC way of knowing. Still, onto the issue at hand, which leaves me with nothing much to do then this round.
GM Mort |
fort save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
concentration check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
Nazhema is blasted by the wave of sound, but continues her spellcasting.
GM Mort |
Hirah delays.
The Earl moves unexpectedly fast on the snow on his snowshoes.(As if his breastplate did not encumber him any more then a chainshirt) "I'll have your head on a pike, girl. Then it'll be Einar's turn." He points his Guisarme at Hirah, then strikes at her, but doesn't manage to catch anything vital.
Demoralize duration over
Guisarme, PA: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
dmg: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (2, 1) + 13 = 16
Guisarme confirm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
GM BOT 101 |
lantern archon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
lantern archon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 1
The second shot by the lantern archon hits Nazhema.
concentration check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Nazhema continues her spellcasting.
Mr Whiskers + Einar up, Hirah you may come in at any time
Calculations should be right. Snowshoes + mithril BP + 40 movespeed from barbarian = 6 squares, of which I used 5. Right no?
Hirah Cheran |
I'd rather cast invis, if it's going to allow me to step into his reach without taking an AoO. If that's not possible, then I'll delay. My problem atm isn't attacking him, it's finding a way to avoid his massive reach without taking an AoO
EDIT
-_- you updated...
GM Mort |
That is fine. That attack went on Crummock then. We'll assume you went invisible(standard action), then moved closer to him. On your next turn, you get to full round, from invis.
Hirah Cheran |
Ok, I'll roll it tonight when i get back from work, so I don't hold anything up tomorrow @ work
GM Mort |
Sh*t. Too late to alter dialogue.
Time warp dialogue
Hirah casts invisibility and moves closer in.
The Earl moves unexpectedly fast on the snow on his snowshoes.(As if his breastplate did not encumber him any more then a chainshirt) As Hirah vanishes, he curses. "Where did that stupid girl go. Bloody cheating wizards. All puff and no balls. He points his Guisarme at Einar. "And you're next, after I'm done with him." He strikes at Crummock but doesn't manage to catch anything vital.
Mr. Whiskers |
Spellcraft, Hirah's casting: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33 Sure, now I roll fantastic!
Mr. Whiskers decides the glaive needs to go. He casts grease on the baron's weapon and pushes it so there is a better chance of working.
DC 17 Reflex
He then repositions himself so he can see the witch.
On iPad, so I can't get it to move. Please move me 20' to the right.
GM Mort |
Will help move you once I get to work.
non demoralized reflex save: 1d20 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 3 = 20
The grease takes hold but he manages to maintain his grip on the weapon.
"Oh not another stinking rat wizard!" He curses.
Can only move you 10 ft due to DT
Mr. Whiskers |
"I do NOT stink, you murderous pawn to witches! If there is a bad smell around here, it is probably your socks rotting in your boots!" Mr. Whiskers angrily shouts back at the baron.
I bet he hasn't even bathed in the past week! Who is he to say someone else stinks!
Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
'Crud he's moving away from me.' Seeing that going after Bynjar's ally did not draw the Earl in, Einar, dropping his bow, begins to rage. Calling up his demonic heritage; his body tranforms: His ankles and feet shift becoming more animal like, his hands also grew larger with talons, now appearing as claws, his maw extended and his eyes grew red, his small black horns became more prominent as his skin went from pale to shiny, emphasizing and enlarging the scales. Causing his Cambion ancestry to become very prominent. As he lets out a roar, "Aaauuurrrggghhh! You will face me now!" Moving through the ice and snow, Einar attacks the Earl with a claw.
10 ft move in DT. giving up the AOO, Full Attack:claw, Rage, large (AC 22) Power attack, 1d6 fire
attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 for damage: 1d8 + 8 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 4 + (1) = 16
crud, I doubt a 15 hits :(
GM Mort |
The Earl stabs Einar with his Guisarme as he approaches, but clangs off Einar's plate armor. Einar’s claws clang harmlessly off his grey breastplate.
1d20+10 Guisarme PA: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
”Of course you stink. You’re a freaking rat! They live in middens and eat rubbish! Not to mention you use magic. That makes you stink even more!”
”How nice of you to deliver yourself into my hands.” He sneers at Einar.
GM Mort |
Nazhema summons an ice mephit that swoops on Crummock and Geist, and showers them with its icy breath. She then gestures and a hemisphere of ice forms around Einar.
Mr Whiskers Spellcraft: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26
Nazhema used wall of ice, hemisphere form
Geist Ref save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Crummocks reflex save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
breath weapon: 1d4 ⇒ 4
breath weapon reload: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Geist is sickened for 3 rounds
Einar reflex save for hemisphere: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Crummock and Geist are showered with ice shards and take 1 point of cold damage. Geist also feels sick.
"Focus on the spell casters hitting me first!"Nazhema commands. "You can go settle your private grudges on YOUR free time."
Mr. Whiskers |
Is this guy for real? He is painfully ignorant if he really thinks that. Then he has the gall to complain of anyone using magic while his employer is a witch that is right behind him?
Mr. Whiskers does a double-take at that. It is as if he doesn't quite believe what he just heard.
Looking to Nazhema, he comments "One has to wonder how faithful a pawn you have here. Given his stance on magic, will he turn on you like the frothing rabid dog he resembles?"
GM Mort |
"Oh he'll stay loyal as long as he's paid, right?" Nazhema answers."And I've paid him well..."
"Yeah, I'm just in for it for the pay. I don't really care what SHE does. Revenge is an added bonus." He eyes Einar stuck in the barrier, meaningfully.
Mr. Whiskers |
Mr. Whiskers just chuckles at that. She really doesn't know him, does she.
"After selling out his own kin for money, maybe? More likely he will try to double-cross you."
Nazhema just went, so it should be Crummock and Hirah? Not sure.
Crummock-i-Phail |
Crummock adjusts his position (5' step, to avoid AoO), and tries his luck again, once more targeting the witch.
Sound Burst: 1d8 ⇒ 5 Sonic damage. DC 19 Fort save, or be Stunned for 1 round.
GM Mort |
Actually I'm not running it right. "Any creature adjacent to the wall when it is created may attempt a Reflex save to disrupt the wall as it is being formed. A successful save indicates that the spell automatically fails. " Doesn't say attack, so you could stick your foot in it too, literally.
Hirah reflex save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Hirah does not manage to stick her foot in on time to stop the sphere from trapping Einar.
GM Mort |
You can't 5 ft out of there - still within 20 ft reach you are. Concentration check if you want, or AOO, Crummock.
Based on current position you're in, within 10 ft since he's on a spiked breastplate, he threatens.
Crummock-i-Phail |
I thought you only threatened 15' to 20' when enlarged with a reach weapon (which is why some people have spiked armor, to allow you to still threaten 5' to 10' away)?
In any case...
Concentration: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24.
GM Mort |
You were warned about the breastplate
Nazhema fort: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Nazhema is stunned by the burst of sound, and drops a sickle made out of ice on the ground.
Hirah Cheran |
This sphere thing is weird to see on the map. Just confirming, I can hit this guy right, the sphere isn't blocking any kind of half flanking (ie attacking from the side)attack from where I'm standing? Also, you can call me an idiot, GM, but if Nazhema is flying, and then is stunned, doesn't she fall to the ground or something? Or did she land?
GM Mort |
Oooh.I thought it only applied to wings. You cannot flank with Einar while the sphere is up. Imagine him in a giant hamster ball. You can run around the Earl if you like, while invis. The sphere doesn't block that.
falling damage: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6) = 13
Nazhema lands on the snow with a rather loud thud.
Hirah Cheran |
Yeah I wasn't that clear before. Its not "can I flank with Einar" (impossible), but, can I hit him from the side, which is often called a military flank (ie a not front on maneuver)
Basically, I don't know if there is part of a curved wall of ice between us (from where I moved myself to show the direction) that would give him cover or protection. If I cannot hit him from where I am now, then I'll simply go around him and stand next to Nazhema, which is probably a full move, but I bet she provokes if she tries to cast again.
EDIT for shitty graphic
Is it
B(A) due to the shape of the wall, with A being the fat guy and B being me.
If you don't understand what I'm getting at, the really simple tl:dr is can I hit him from the exact position I'm standing in, without giving him cover or some other AC advantage. If the answer is yes, I'll roll my attack, if the answer is no, I'll double move to where the white witch crashed and idk, stand over her in an invisibly creepy manner.
Anyway, I gotta rest now.
GM Mort |
You can hit him where you are now. Just ignore the blue sphere on the map, it's just snow. The big blue sphere on the map denotes where the reality siphon used to be. The red box is the wall of ice hemisphere around Einar
I will bot the attack on the Earl with bane on in about 2h if Hirah hasn't posted by then.
Hirah Cheran |
Checked my phone before shutting my eyes, so this won't be anything detailed, I need to get up early.
Amplified Raging Bane Greatsword: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 14 + 2 = 33
Damage: 2d6 + 14 + 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 14 + (5, 6) = 37
Hirah shimmers into visibility, with an irritated expression. "Of course I don't have balls you moron, I'm a women, a women currently kicking your ass. How embarrassing for you...but then again, judging from the ice queen you hang around with, maybe you like that sort of thing."
GM Mort |
concealment, 1 misses: 1d5 ⇒ 5
Hirah lands a mighty blow on the Earl, pretty much like sticking a stuck pig.
Hirah Cheran |
I also sledged him....and thats lights out for me. See you all in 8 hours or so~
GM Mort |
He roars with rage, "So thats where you little backstabbing sneaky pants went to! Just wait till I wring the life out of your throat, girl!" Then tries to knee and shouder slam Hirah.
PA armor spikes: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
dmg: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
PA armor spikes: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Hirah Cheran |
Hateful Retort: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 14 + 2 = 28
Damage: 2d6 + 14 + 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 14 + (4, 6) = 34
Only if this hits
"Time to admit I think, just accept that when it comes to combat, your average female has you beat"
GM Mort |
concealment, 1 misses: 1d5 ⇒ 5
And an angry Hirah sends his head flying with a mighty arc of her greatsword, and his decapitated body tumbles to the ground.
Yes, he doesn't have raging vitality either ;)
Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
'Blast, Hirah got to him before I did, at least he is dead.' Seeing Hirah take down the earl in two strokes, Einar smiles a toothy smile. "Nice sword work Hirah." He then attacks the 'ice wall' to get out of it.
"wall has 21 hp, no hardness. Hitting is automatic"
Full Attack: maw, claw @ 2, Rage, large (AC 22) Power attack, 1d6 fire
damage: 1d8 + 8 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 4 + (4) = 20damage: 1d8 + 8 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 4 + (3) = 17
damage: 1d8 + 8 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 4 + (3) = 17
GM Mort |
Yup, you're out of it now. Nazhema is on ground level so you can start moving to her, assuming she doesnt fly off next round...
Mr. Whiskers |
It is difficult to tell distance on the map, but I think if I move diagonally 10' and ready an action to cast haste, I can get everyone provided Crummock moves forward. If I can't, then I'll settle for just Hirah, Einar and myself.
Mr. Whiskers |
Mr. Whiskers moves closer to the others and casts haste, getting as many of his friends as possible in the area.
Crummock-i-Phail |
Crummock glides forward, and tosses another burst of sound at the semi-conscious witch...
Sound Burst: 1d8 ⇒ 8 Sonic damage. DC 19 Fort save, or be Stunned for 1 round.
...whilst Geist pounces forward, ready to engage the witch.
Double move.
Mr. Whiskers |
Looks like I never got moved from earlier today. I'm updating my position.
I do dislike that Haste and Fireball formation looks so similar.
