Einar would want to take A out, and would not be interested in hugging wall.

Blame the person who wrote this mod, not me for unclear maps.

THATS GREAT

SO NOTIFY ME SO I CAN RETCON MY ACTION!

I made a post with an expectation that I could trigger Amplified Rage. I'm ok with eating an AoO but getting Amplified Rage off because I get a lot tankier so it isn't as bad. If Einar (or you via botting), doesn't want to have a part in that, thats ok but I need to know so I can reassess my action.

So, if you want to bot a player, and choose to screw over that strategy of mine, I'd like the option of actually getting a retcon, since the entire premise of being careful about positioning was about Amplified Rage, which you know about because you actually made a post weeks ago saying "I know what you are trying to accomplish Hirah, and I think its better served just being a standard inquisitor that stands adjacent to Einar".

More points I think to my argument that its going to be better waiting for botted individuals in the same init to post first so that they don't intentionally screw over prepared tactics.

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

Sure, I can do the botted individuals business first, if that's what you want.

Even expecting non botted players doing a certain action is questionable. Like Einar and the trolls, where Crummock expected Einar to do something but did something else instead. And said he didn't think it through lol. Your team mates are not your chess pieces.

Retconing multiple turns is not possible at this point of time. I will not do so, since it confuses matters.

Female Half-Orc Inquisitor 11 | HP 70/70 | AC 21 Tch 13 Fl 19 | CMB +14 CMD 27 | F +12 R +8 W +15,| Init +7| Perc +19 | Sense Motive +24 | Intimidate +25 | # Rounds of Bane per day: 11 | # of SM III uses: 8 | # of Rage Rounds: 12

I don't *expect* them to do an action.

For instance, say Mr Whiskers wants to Fireball the entire lot of bad guys. He has his spells all up and running and ready to go, when suddenly, Einar and I run into the middle of his planned AoE. Mr Whiskers is entitled to say "Hmm, in light of this, maybe I'll cast something else", instead of cackling "burn them all" and hitting his own allies with friendly fire.

I made a reasonable post. It let me trigger my teamwork feat, made me tankier and do more damage, it let Einar hit a target pretty hard (remember, he hadn't indicated a target preference when I made that action), and it ensures Einar doesn't take any additional damage (AoO). At the same time, I trust any party member to say "yo Hirah your plan sucks terribly I'm going to do something else, so rethink what you are going to do". This didn't happen.

You were aware of what my action was trying to accomplish (as a GM and as a botted player), and did your best to do the exact opposite of that. Not only is it a jerk move, but you denied (as GM), the opportunity for me to retcon the action at the time.

Like, right now, Hirah is probably entitled to (when combat finishes). smack the hell out of Einar for choosing to put her in a more vulnerable position. It means that theres less value standing next to Einar to trigger Amplified Rage (as you yourself have suggested) in future, because - hey, he might want to just screw me over. I still think smacking the hell out of Einar's character, IC, is unfair to Einar the player when the choice was taken away from him, but this action that you did, creates massive in character trust issues between Hirah and the rest of the party - because its an example where someone didn't have her back.

Quote:
I don't bot characters to screw them over

Well, you sure as hell didn't screw over the botted character...

To clarify, I'm not asking for a mindless drone, I'm requesting that if someone doesn't want to go along with a plan, that they (in this case you), notify the plan creator, so that they can try / do something else. In your case, if a GM wants to screw me over, after I had tried doing a combat post, I'd appreciate a retcon.

Again, I'm not asking you to (now) retcon multiple turns, I'm pointing out why I'm so cross, since you appeared to be utterly, utterly ignorant of it. Its also why I'm asking you to bot Hirah at the moment, so you can move both Einar and Hirah and not screw me over again.

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

Einar is next to you now, I botted him to move up to you, since it's safe to do so without taking AOOs. I am waiting for Mr Whiskers and Crummock to take their actions. If they deal with Hafnar, you can stand up fine without provoking, otherwise it's an AOO.

And be nice. I had to answer this whole thing, move tokens on a phone since I wasn't at a computer.

And yes, when I bot, my loyalty is to the botted character. And generally following his instructions to the letter.

Mr. Whiskers took Haste today. He can only choose one 3rd level spell a day and since it seemed likely to be heavy melee today I took haste.

Mr. Whiskers blinks his eyes and surveys the battlefield. One went down while I was blind. Good! He moves up a little and waits.

Readied Action for when Isakur acts:
Cast magic missile at Isakur when she tries to cast her readied spell.
Magic Missile, +1 CL: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 3) + 4 = 15

I have already deducted the spell and Arcane Reservoir point

Geist pounces forward, and attempts to bite Hafnar.

Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8, for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 damage.

Trusting in Mr Whiskers to keep him safe, Crummock narrows his eyes, and attempts to blow-up the three remaining foes.

Fireball: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 6, 1, 6, 5) = 27 Fire damage, DC 19 Reflex save for half.

Concentration: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31.

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

I don't think you can get all without Friendly Firing Einar...you need to choose between getting the cleric or the bard

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

Longspear AOO on Geist: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Geist dodges out of the way of Hafnar's spear but does not manage to bite Hafnar either.

concentration: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

As Ishakur tries to magic missile Crummock again, he gets caught by Mr Whiskers's magic missile and loses the spell.

Ishakur reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Hafnar's reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

Crummock's fireball Ishakur into a crisp, and badly scorches Hafnar.

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

Hirah stands, then summons air elementals on Hafnar and Daniella.

how many air elementals?: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

She commands one of the air elementals to pick Hafnar and Daniella up in a whirlwind.

Hafnar reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Slam damage from whirlwind: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Hafnar reflex not to be picked up by whirlwind: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

The air elemental slams into Hafnar, knocking him out. It is, however, unable to pick him up. It tries to pick Daniella up, but the bard manages to duck out of the way.

Daniella reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

The other two elementals she sends to harass Daniella.

slam: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 2 = 10

slam: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 = 14
dmg: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Both air elementals miss their attacks.

Daniella channels her magic into her longspear, then tries to stab Einar with it, only to be turned by his armor.

longspear: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Party up

slam: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 2 = 18

dmg: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
slam: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
dmg: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Hirah directs her elementals to finish the job, and they pound on Daniella, knocking her out.

Combat over

On Alvar the party finds:

MW Glaive, Spiked Chainmail, MW Longspear, Longbow, 20 arrows, cloak of resistance, longsword.

On Hafnar the party finds:

Potion of bull's strength, thunderstone, full plate, masterwork greatsword, longspear, morningstar.

On Isakur the party finds:
A white bandana (headband of alluring charisma).

On Daniella, the party finds:
2 potions of Cure Light wounds, 1 potion of eagle's splendor, 1 longspear, 1 dagger, one MW chain shirt, a ring of protection +1 and 50 gp.

Retired to Triaxius

'This will end badly for them.' After smashing Alvar with the hammer, Einar watches the rest of the team drop Earl Brynjar sworn Jarls. Releasing the rage, so they would more easily recognize their slayer. Einar draws the adamantine sword he took from the statue, and approaches the kneeling Alvar. "Because My father was your sword brother your deaths will be clean." He then beheads the man with one stroke. He then proceeds to the other three and shows them the same mercy.

Cleaning the blade on Daniella's shirt, Einar helps gather the spoils of war, then turning to Crummock, as the wordsmith nods toward the left."So shall we find Brynjar? His death may not be so clean."

GM Mort, it looks like to rounds rage and no damage to Einar is that correct?

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

Yeah you're fine, just deduct 2 rage rounds

Alvar and Isakur are already dead, but Einar carries out the executions of Dainella and Hafnar fine.

A pool of strange silver water stands in a clearing here. On the pool's surface, ripples begin at the outermost age and rush inward to a single point, where drops of water fall upward towards the sky. The entire pool rains skywards while snowflakes float down between the droplets. A brisk wind rustles through the trees. Paths continue on to the north and east out of the clearing.

A humanoid figure with strangely coloured hair. crowning his head like a torch, gleaming white teeth and eldritch energy gleaming in his eyes greets the party. In his hands is a pipe.

Near the North Western trees stands a Spriggan.

"We have claimed the Dancing Hut in the name of Queen Titania. Soon, the Hut shall be transported to the first world, and our tasks complete. Then we shall be granted rewards beyond imagining." The humanoid figure with strangely coloured hair brags.

So now what?

Mr. Whiskers nose twitches a bit in irritation.

"Are you sure that is safe, bringing something as powerful as the hut into the first world? At least here there are limits on what Baba Yaga can do."

Shaking his head, he says "This sounds like the sort of story that ends badly for those who attempt to steal magic."

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

"Do you think that Queen Elvana has the right to the hut either? She stole it off Baba Yaga. And you do not question what Queen Titania commands." He answers. "You may pass, if you wish, but do not interfere with our business."

Does the party take up their offer?

'We, I wonder if he means himself and the big lug to the north.' Einar looks from the odd fellow near the water to the Spriggan to the north. Keeping and eye on the big guy Einar whispers, "Good point Mister Whiskers. What do you think Crummock, they talkin' their way out of this?"

I'm aware its my turn, just thinking about my action, checking to see if there were going to be any relevent updates before I posted my action (which in this case, has happened, ie what are the swim laps)?

Do we / can we get a knowledge roll to determine what its doing RE those swim laps.
Its pretty relevant since it determines whether we "nova" it if its critical, or if its doing something random then we can just take it down as appropriate.

4 rounds isn't a heck of a lot of time to take it down based on the terrain its in.

Edit no. 2: Leopard is going to be moved east of humanoid because being west of him was out of summon monster range

Retired to Triaxius

'Fighting fey again, at least this time we are prepared.' Einar allows the water to rush over him, fueling his rage, baptized as it were into his Cambion form. Moving towards the large fairy drawing his cold iron glaive, when he is close enough he thrust the tip at the creature. "You should have not come here!"

Once he enlarges and moves 12.5 ft. can he reach the Spriggand? If not he will just move, and attack next round.
Attack: MW coldiron Glaive, rage (AC 22)large, PA
attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13 for damage: 2d8 + 12 + 6 ⇒ (8, 3) + 12 + 6 = 29
nvever mind, I don't think it hit anyway...

No issue on reach and attack.

Mr. Whiskers shakes himself, trying to get rid of some of the water. "I thought winter and summer were more like distant cousins that rarely met..." then gives a shrug.

Looking to the side, Mr. Whiskers apologizes "Sorry about your cat, Hirah." and then casts glitterdust over the two fey and the feline.

DC 17 Will. It is hard to tell given the scale on the map, but it looks to me like I can get both fey as long as I don't mind including the summoned leopard.

He then moves to put a little distance between himself and the others.

Yup you can, now I need to find my saves.

humanoid will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Spriggan will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
leopard will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

Everyone is covered with shinny glitterdust, but only the Spriggan is blinded.

The humanoid uses his pipe in his free hand and blows a sharp note out of it. The vibrations rip into the summoned cat, but the cat appears to have dodged the worst of it.Take 12 sonic damage

leopard reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

dmg: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 5, 3, 6, 4) = 24

He then gestures and the rolling ball of water moves forward to engulf Einar. Einar doesn't quite manage to get out of the way in time...

Einar reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Einar's second reflex save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Einar is engulfed in the aqueous orb and pulled backwards.
non lethal damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7

Einar, this is your current status:
Engulfed creatures are immersed in water and must hold their breath unless capable of breathing water. They gain cover against attacks from outside the aqueous orb but are considered entangled by its churning currents, takes 2d6 points of nonlethal damage at the beginning of their turn each round they remain trapped. Creatures within the orb may attempt a new Reflex save each round to escape into a random square adjacent to the aqueous orb. You get one save next round to get out of the orb, if you do, you don't take the 2d6 damage.

The Spriggan blindly attempts to hit the leopard.

concealment 1 hits, 2 misses: 1d2 ⇒ 2

Spriggan end of round will save for glitterdust: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

The Spriggan still remains blind.

cone weapon recharge: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Party up. The sonic cone was a 15 ft cone, and an (Su) ability

Crummock stands up, and with surprising grace, steps forward, and stabs at the Spriggan.

MW Cold Iron Starknife: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 11 + 2 = 28, for 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 damage.

Geist has a bit more trouble, but nevertheless wades through the water to take a bite.

Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23, for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 damage.

Einar spills out of the orb of water, dripping wet and frowning,

what random square is he put out into?

I'm at work but can my pet pull off the pin action? The idea of grappling it was to deny its spellcasting but apparently it's unaffected by this so far.

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

Square you may select as per your choice.

Crummock, I don't think grace lets you 5 ft step. You were 10 ft away from the spriggan. Horseshoes of northern pursuit works for snow, to ignore DT, but now you're in water and DTed because of that. Will ignore the attack.

Geist takes a good bite of the spriggan.

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

pin: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35

The leopard successfully establishes the pin.

Waiting for Einar to resolve his attacks, probably against the spriggan

GM Mort: My Spirit Hex - 'Cinder Dance' gives me the Nimble Moves feet, which allows me to 5' step in difficult terrain. Consequently, my attack should still happen.

If I was using Grace (which I agree would not enable me to take a 5' step in difficult terrain), I would have expressed it using italics ;-)
