Forgot earlier Einar's AOO for wolf
Einar AOO: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
dmg: 3d6 + 16 ⇒ (3, 2, 2) + 16 = 23
Einar manages to strike down the fleeing wolf as well.
Einar tears apart both the goblin, and the wolf threatening Ziva.
Only one of Geist's claws manage to rake the agile little goblin.

Ziva Suadela |

Thanks Einar, saves me having to trigger Vernai's Vengeance trick to kill the goblin so I still have uses per day =]
GM if I can draw and drink a CMW potion, I will do so. If not (maybe due to the fact I'm on exactly 0 HP), I'll have Ziva use her move action to get behind cover and work on healing myself in a future turn.

GM Mort |

Could you put vengeance strike under tricks known instead of attacks? I actually missed it out on your character sheet.
You can draw this round, you can't drink till next round

Mr. Whiskers |

Mr. Whiskers finishes his spell.
DC 15 Fort to resist
He then hurries over to Nadya, drawing a potion of CLW as he moves.

GM Mort |

The remaining goblin attempts to put some distance between himself and the party. Geist snaps at his heels as he attempts to flee.

Mr. Whiskers |

Mr. Whiskers carefully feeds the potion to Nadya.

CLW potion: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Crummock-i-Phail |

Well, the creature has disappeared off the map, so I assume that means it is too far away to target?
With a sigh of frustration, Crummock hustles over to Nadya.
Double move.

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
Leaving the shredded corpse of the goblin in one pile and that of the wolf in another, Einar returns to normal size. Wiping the blood of the goblin off of his chin, he draws his bow and begins to look for the other rider, telling Ziva, "Stay down till you drink the potion, I do not know where the third archer is."
Ends rage, fatigued 4 rounds, Move action draws bow: will delay till he sees the goblin or until certain combat is over.

GM Mort |

Nadya's face gains some colour, but she does not wake up.
Orm and Morjoli stare horrfied at Nadya's unconscious form as they try to wake her up. "Mummy! Are you all right? There's so much blood..." They turn to Mr Whiskers with tear-stained faces. "What's wrong with Mummy? She's not answering us!"
The goblin, seeing an angry tiger at its heels, decides that random banditry isn't really worth his while and flees into the woods.
Actually the distance was +25 ft (my counting error last night), not +50 ft so chasing is still possible. But I suppose you don't really want to split the party with the faster and slower moving members so we'll call it here.
On the remaining bodies the party finds the following:
2 (small) animal bane arrows, 4 potions of Cure Light Wounds, 1 (small) masterwork composite longbow (Str+1), 10 (small) arrows, 2 dogslicers, 2 (Small) Masterwork chainshirts, 64 gp.

Crummock-i-Phail |

Oh! Well, in that case...
Crummock hustles forward, and causes a blast of sound to envelop the goblin and his wolf.
Sound Burst: 1d8 ⇒ 1 Sonic damage. DC 18 Fort save, or be Stunned for one round.
Geist then charges after the goblin.
Bite: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 2 = 9, for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 damage.
If someone gets stunned, we can probably keep the combat going; if not, then the goblin can *really* leg it, and I won't chase any further.

GM Mort |

After the party has done whatever they want to do at the goblins
The party continues travelling on the woods, and see a rough wooden cabin standing just inside a small wood. There is no sign of activity around the cabin, but smoke rises from the chimney. The dogs and wolves catch the scent of something and start barking. A beautiful, red-haired woman (perhaps disturbed by the barking) in a hooded coat comes out of the cabin and greets the party.
"Oh adventurers! Could I ask you for a little favour? My husband has been taken by a moss troll to a nearby cave. I would reward you with a safe place to stay for the night and a magic item belonging to my husband if you can bring him safely back to me!" She pleads with the party.
Mr Whiskers knowledge nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Ziva knowledge nature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Yeah both Ziva and Mr Whiskers think she's a red-haired woman

GM Mort |

Soundburst does not happen. Even at 25 ft off the map, he's beyond your 35 ft range (soundburst is 25 ft +5/2levels). If you double moved, by that time he'd be 125 ft off the map

Crummock-i-Phail |

Sorry, you said he was within charging distance; I assumed that therefore meant he was within 65'. Never mind!
Crummock nods.
"Aye, that seems like a right pickle o' a problem. I think we can look into that - there's nae reason to let a blasted troll disturb a happy family..."

GM Mort |

Goblin scene
Your strength is only 16 after rage. -2 for too low strength for composite longbow. -4 more for range incrememt.
longbow: 1d20 + 8 - 7 ⇒ (1) + 8 - 7 = 2
Einar's arrow falls far short of the goblin as he strains, in his fatigued state to pull the longbow.

GM Mort |

The beautiful red-haired woman introduces herself as Sylgja and gives directions to the party to a cave half a mile away from here, where her husband, Fingrath was taken. The party follows her directions and finds a large cave lit by torches, with a humanoid figure wielding a battle axe with moss growing all over him shambling around. The figure looks up, upon seeing the party. There are no traces of any other inhabitants in the cave.

Nadya gasps weakly as she wakes up. "I'm still alive? What happened?" As Crummock drops a few more charges on her, she gets to her feet and hastens to reassure Orm and Morjoli she's all right now. And that next time a fight breaks out, they should hide in the sled, and not come out until the fighting is over. Orm and Morjoli hug Crummock gratefully after he's healed Nadya. Orm promises that when he grows up he will shoot goblins on sight so they won't hurt anyone again.

Seeing that she will survive, he then goes to check that Ziva is also alright.
Now, moss covered creature. Let me know if it has been more than 4 hours and I will use another Mage Armor
At the creature's stilted movements, Mr. Whiskers yells "Something isn't right, I think it is being controlled! Try not to kill it!" The last he shouts just as Einar is rending the creature.

Not rolling attacks because waiting for developments and we don't wanna kill it. In response to your earlier question GM yes, Vengence Strike is in my default statblock output heading. If you want me to change under what heading it is, I'll need to manually go back in and edit it every single time there is the slightest change. I'd prefer not having to remember to do this. I'm getting the Giant Strength Belt and the AmMF

GM Mort |

Ok - I'm fine with vengeance strike being where it is, since I know where to look for it.
Waiting for Einar if he wants to use 2 of his attacks, or dump all 3 on the mouldy creature. Once I get that, we can proceed.

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
sorry guys, I shouldn't have gone out of turn, Einar will not continue striking if it is down.
'why does my mind feel foggy?' hearing Mister Whiskers say not to kill it, Einar struggles, watching it fall, he does not strike it again but steps back, looking from the beast to Mister Whisker.
two levels of wisdom drain, is he affected by the 'glitter dust'?

GM Mort |

Don't drop rage yet.
A glittery moss creeps out from the downed creature, looking confused.

No, its a new round. You needed to wait for the moss to emerge before you can strike it. That being said, its now a new round, so feel free to do as you like - like full attack.

The mould somehow manages to dodge the bite and the last claw and remains quivering on the ground. Not before Einar is coated with even more brown powder, though. This time Einar doesn't feel any ill effects from the brown powder.(maybe he's becoming immune? :p)
Mould is still up.

"I don't feel right, I think the mold has affected my mind, like too much bad alcohol. Do we need to burn it or will chopping it up be enough?" Einar draws his glaive preparing to turn the moss into mulch.

Einar doesn't remember the these woods being here the last time. It was, you know, all snow?
These woods are not natural. Probably druid work, trying to fight against winter's eternal grip on the landscape. These zones do not last long, as White Witches stamp them out when they are inevitably located, or they become subsumed by the surrounding magical winter when the druid's power eventually fails. It would probably take 1-2 days of travel to get out of these pockets of summer.

GM Mort |

He wakes up with a groan."Who are you? How did I end up here? Why do I hurt so much?" He mumbles as he gives Crummock a vague look.

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
'Why does he hurt so much, he's lucky he's alive' Having finished searching the cave small cave just as Crummock heals the man, Einar, holds back a scoff and approaches, smiling, intentionally showing his fangs and pointing to the dead pile of moss. "We had difficulty prying the salad off of you. Are you Fingrath husband of Sylgja? She has asked us to come to the moss troll cave and free you, we didn't know you were the moss troll."

GM Mort |

"What salad? You like salad? Oh you know Sylgja? Yeah she's my wife and she's the most aweome wife ever. Her meat pies are to die for and her ale is even better." He gives Einar an absent-minded smile as he rambles on. "Guess I should be getting back hmm?" He levers himself up to his feet and totters off like a man drunk off his @ss."Do I really look like a moss troll to you?" He asks Einar questioningly.

Crummock looks at the man thoughtfully.

He then shrugs.
"Come on - let's get ye home."

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
'I don't think he remembers, is that what would have happened to me if I had enough of this brown stuff on me.' Einar smiles, "You did for a little while. Wait up, we will go with you. Maybe your wife will sell us a little ale, all we've had to drink was some terrible winteryew moonshine." As they follow Fingrath, Einar quickly turns to Nadya, "No offence Nadya, but they were right, it wasn't much of a brew."
Edit: just like old times, Crummock ninja'd my post...

GM Mort |

"Ohh yeah home! Whoopie!" He jumps up into the air just to fall flat on his face. After the party helps him up, he starts singing off key and swaying from side to side as the party supports him back home.
Sylgja hears his off key singing as the party approaches the house and comes out of the house. "Fingrath! What happened to you?" She runs up to him to catch him.
"Oh. I just laid down on a bush, then there was this big and brown furry two legger that brought me flying on rainbow waterfalls. He called me son!" He tells his wife happily with a vacant look on his face.
Sylgja sniffs his breath suspiciously and finding no trace of alcohol, puts her hand on her hips then drags him into the house by the ears.
She reappears at the door a while later, with an aggrieved look on her face. "Why don't you tell me what exactly happened?"
With Nadya
"Yeah, the Goltievas water what they call alcohol and overcharge everyone. If I had the permit, I'd sell the beer from my Kellid friends."Nadya grumbles.
Yeah, Fingrath is fine...in the sense of what happens after a really wild party. Well ok...4 points of wis damage does that to you. And when you dumped wis to begin with...;)

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |

Einar nods his head in agreement with Nadya, smiling. "Kellid beer is good, not as good as Mead from the islands, but still good."
upon return
When asked, Einar shrugs his shoulders. "There was one creature in the cave, when we attacked it, it separated into two things: your husband, wounded and unconscious and a pile of crawling green moss. We killed the moss and patched up your husband and brought him back." Einar pauses for a moment, then continues, "OH yeah, the moss sprayed this stuff." Einar wipes some of the brown powder off of his armor onto the palm of his hand and shows it to the redhead. "Do you know what it is? It's not a blasted troll, that's for sure."

"That was a Mindslaver mold! It must have had Fingrath in its thrall!" Sylgja exclaims."Its spores,"she points at the brown powder, "sap a person's will, making them absent minded and sometimes causing hallucinations, so it can take control of its victim."She gasps, horrified, then starts dusting the spores off Einar with a featherduster. "How can I thank you enough for freeing my husband and returning him back to me!"She gives Einar a grateful hug.
"Here, as I promised."She hands to Einar a insidious bear trap."It can turn invisible, function as an alarm..." She describes the item's properties to the party. "And a bonus for a job well done." She gives Einar a scroll of remove curse. Then she brushes her lips gently over Einar's, giving him a kiss. "For all your help."
Einar is granted good luck. He gains a +2 luck bonus on all saving throws, attack rolls, and skill checks for 24 h
