Essentially yes. I'm not going to use rounds. Almost a simulation built on your descriptions and how you've previously acted. The more you describe the less I will have to simulate.

I wanted to try something new and wrap this combat up before I left.

I should apologize too. Ive been pulled in so many directions over the past week Ive been home its hard to stay on top of everything, including this campaign. Hopefully everything is settling down now.

This encounter is a little different.
The mantis can still damage you, and resources are expended but I'm not asking you to make dice rolls.

Essentially I will be rolling to see who kills it. Each character gets one ticket in the hat to be the one to kill it. Descriptions, extra badassness, risk, may all add additional tickets to the metaphorical hat. I'll then roll a dN (N=tickets) to decide who kills it. (the drawn number falls in a character's ticket range. Like Axel may have the 1-3 range) 1d13 ⇒ 4

Since I decided to spill the mechanical beans, feel free to retcon.

i've been keeping up with the character overview doc. one thing i don't know though is xp.

I'm back from the Wedding and alive (surprisingly) It will probably be slow again this week with Marz in Louisville. It'd be pretty awesome if we managed a session in person with everyone in Louisville at the moment. (Seems unlikely but I'd love it)

javelins are pretty good. more damage but slightly less range.

Coyote was becoming restless. "Oh my god, they've been hanging around for like a WEEEEK," he groaned. Dog roused from his sleep with a start.

"Guh! Did they get the witch or whatever it was they were doing yet?" He barked nervously, ears up and twitching.

"Patience," Wolf growled at his brother Coyote.

"I'm sorry, but our prodigal nephew and his weird friends have just been kicking it at this boring ice village in the middle of nowhere. I'm going stir crazy."

"The pack knows its duties and they will be attended in due time. Until then we wait." Wolf held fast, stern and stoic.

"Beats dealing with those idiots back home, I guess," his antsy brother spat.

Fox looked up from idly chewing his foot. His younger brothers were in a tizzy again. Dog looked earnestly confused, as usual. The sly vulpes stood, turned in place three times, and lay down to sleep.
