Here is our discussion thread.
Feel free to talk here about how awesome that crit was, or publicly skewer me for failing to be prompt with my posting.
We will also use this to nail down our game specifics, discuss how to play, and the importance of Flex Time.

There are several ways to follow along.
You can
Add this and the gameplay threads to your RSS feed reader.
Or Bookmark your campaign tab
http://paizo.com/people/XXXHOTJuicyUSERNAMEXXX/campaigns
It will show you when you have unread posts.

Create your alias, go into your info and add the character. That way when I click your name, I get your stats and background. For now you can send it to me on Google Drive or something.
Feel free to use Spoiler tags to break up your character sheet. This way I won't have to scroll past your background and appearance every time I peruse your weaknesses.
Later you will keep your current health, init, and saves in a parenthetical next to your Character name.

So "Flex Time" for those who don't already know, is a method of pbp which allows 'scenes' and 'conversations' to continue at the same point in time they started (basically), while allowing the GM to push the adventure along.
To do this, the one who wishes to post using Flex Time needs to put, in OOC (out of character) text, "Flex Time - Scene being flexed" at the top of the post. Then they can just post whatever they want in the scene specified.
The GM has the power to end flex time conversations at their discretion. Periodically a GM will state "All flex time conversations will be closed in the next 24 hours." This power lets the GM keep things relatively tidy in the forum and helps everyone keep things straight as to who is saying what and when they're saying it.
FOR EXAMPLE Lets say Dan and I just met, and our chars are still introducing themselves, but the GM wants to post the next step in the adventure.
---------------
Flex Time - Introductions with Dan
"So Dan, how many men have you slept with? ...I meant beaten up, yeah that's it!"
---------------
Dan could then reply using the same, or a similar, heading so I'd know it was our conversation he was 'flex time-responding to'.
It's not mandatory to participate in or initiate Flex Time conversations, but it does come in handy and keeps the story moving forward when it might otherwise be 'paused' waiting for conversations/scenes to finish up.

Before we post, here are the rules of posting. (Open to suggestions)
1. 2 times minimum a day - keep things flowing
2. Post whenever possible using the Text formatting shown below: Click on the "how to format your text" button below for further help)
Character speech is bolded.
"By Abadar, look at the size of that thing!"
Spoiler material will be shown as following. Don't click on a button to reveal the text unless it has your name on it, or you make the appropriate DC. I know it's tempting, but in the name of good rp, DON'T DO IT!
Anything said "Out of Context" should be used with the "OOC" formatting, like this:
Wow! Nice Shot!!!
Anything longer than a sentence or two should go in the discussion thread, with a "OOC" post or question leading to it. For Example:
I'm not sure that is the right application for that spell. Head over to the DT and I'll explain why.
If you are casting a spell, or doing something not very standard, it is usually good form to put the spell's effects whenever possible, as a spoiler or an ooc for easy reference. It's not the end of the world for me to look stuff up, but it helps me to keep the game flowing if it is all right there, so do it when you can if it's not a bother.
Zoriel the wizard casts sleep on the first goblin in the group

if you want to get all tricky you can get familiar with the "go to" and hyperlink it into the text, making it look like this.
This is the dice expression.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

It will take some time to get everyone up to speed. I'm trying to leave as much of the process as malleable as possible.
The full Player's guide will be up in a couple days, you can get some of the info by reading my copy of People of the North.
I'll let you guys ask questions, so I'm not hitting you over the head with walls of text.

Done. Puffin Witch.
This implies a few changes to my character for your consideration, dear sir Laschoni. Furthermore, I have selected a few traits. Are these traits in addition to racial traits? I assumed so and have added two campaign traits. They are on my linked character sheet, as well as under the spoiler tab on my profile.

GM Laschoni |

Ah, typically you choose one trait per category. Traits are like half-Feats that require players to flesh out the background. Combat, General, Religious, Campaign being some of the different categories. That being said, you can roll with those two campaign traits if you want, but be prepared for overlap with the other four characters.

Today is a good day, Google finally got around to patching the bug that messed with Bluetooth in its Nexus devices running Jelly Bean. My bluetooth keyboard has been a paperweight since November or so.
When working on your character backgrounds, be sure to include how you came to Heldren. Born there, amnesia, exploring the country side, etc...
You are also very free to already know or be in league with one another, and we can explore those relationships as the story progresses.
Does you character make sense here?

If you could also get me your full character sheet, I'd appreciate it.
For pretty much everyone, the ease at which I have access to your updated character sheets will speed the game up. I will more than likely handle rolls like initiative.

The Multitalented trait would only apply if you were to take levels in something like Ranger and choose Ranger as your second favored class. If you were to then take a level in Cleric, you would not get the +1 in either health or skill at that level. Or am I missing something?
You also aren't adding your Keen Senses +2 bonus to your Perception skill.

so my backstory is basically im in town with a trading caravan. getting kind of bored with it and trying to find something exciting to do. as far as i know, i don't think i know any other character. though i would like to perhaps have a connection to somebody or something of the sort to get the ball rolling on introductions and stuff

GM Laschoni |

As of this moment, the Gameplay is open. You are free to get in touch with people you may know (other PC or NPC) and gather information. How you approach this I leave largely up to you.
I have shared a player toolkit folder with each of you over Google Drive. A quick view of Heldren is included.
This toolkit/folder will be a one stop shop when it comes to combat, loot, and I'll even help maintain an NPC gallery, that players should add notes to.
There are probably several kinks that I haven't foreseen, but I am very confident that within a couple weeks we will have a very smooth game.
To the roleplay experience of our lives! (At least since The Sixfold Trial of Larazod)

For those of you that want an easy way to read the posts from a mobile device (sorry reply will still have to happen through the page's reply box) Use Google Reader and add the two Orange Icons at the top of this page. (Next to the Facebook and Twitter share buttons)

Oh, point I can make. You can use the preview button after typing the Dice string and see the result. This allows you to type with knowledge of your rolls.
Yes, I am fully aware that you can reload and cheat. But, I have faith that all of you will play it straight. We have the most fun when the situation goes to hell because of a few failed rolls.
