Thanks for selecting me, Redelia!
Erythril is basically an outcast from Drow society, and after being presumably killed and then rescued and saved, trained and guided toward a new path in life by an angelic being. He's turned his life and thinking around 180 degrees from who and what he was. (I sent you his more detailed background in a pm)...
He's basically CG, leaning toward NG... not sure he'd ever make it to LG, but with guidance, who knows. He's charismatic and would make a good captain and face, (I can only hope I'd be up to those roles as a player). I can go either way as far as his solarian power goes... either armor and he'll specialize in either ranged weapons or melee, whatever the party needs most... or he'll manifest a weapon, and then he'll be melee-oriented of course, using ranged as a backup only. I can be flexible with that, depending on other folks' builds, so I hesitate to make a decision yet.
So essentially, he'll be an outlaw (from Drow Society anyway), Drow solarian

Thanks for the selection Redelia! I did not envy your decision making...
I noticed in the recruitment most (all?) of us stated a ranged focus desire. I'm perfectly fine with tweaking my build a bit to wade into melee range, though the lower AC and HP (compared to PF) still scares me a bit. :-P
I've always been a fan of combat maneuvers and would certain enjoy adding 'pull the pin' to my feat list. Leaning heavily into picking up Diversion as my level 1 feat.
Edit: I could easily see my skittermander trying to 'hug' her way across the pact worlds...'

Thanks for picking me! No problems with not getting to play the mystic. The star shaman has appealed for a while but luckily I can reuse the character concept with that new multisign chronicle.
Looking at the party we don't have an operative, soldier or technomancer. I have not found something that immediately appeals about technomancer, but both the solder and operative are classes I've looked at. If it doesn't end up being too many people in melee, a melee soilder with coordinated shot sounds fun to try.
As for race, that's a bit more difficult. Since I have such a good chance to play a race I'd likely not get to play in SFS I'm really trying to use an alien archive race, but I do have trouble getting myself into the mindset of a truly alien race, such as a Barathu or formian. Tryijg to avoid races with a strength penalty to, if nothing else not play against the grain also further limits the possibilities. As such, there are a couple of races I'm looking at possibly playing though: the possibly over powered but easily worked with Shobhad, the much hard to integrate but oh so seductive Reptoid (charismatic melee striker anyone?), going with a third skittermander (it's only three feet tall but it can smack down full grown shobhads! Also squeee, so cute!) or giving up on the special race options and just making a vesk to play counterpoint the the skittermanders.

Thanks for the invite!
Cha'Vishtyr is a Shirren who very recently branched off from the hive and swarm. The decision left his mind shattered. As the Hive mind washed over city after city Cha'Vishtyr witnessed as it killed every man woman and child to feed in a mindless movement to survive. He watched as numerous offspring were sent in and slowly his mind started to open and wander away from the hive. He heard a call in the back of his head. The soft voice of Hylax. "I have been waiting a long time for you child...."
With that the Goddess opened up Cha'Vishtyr's shattered mind even further, greatly rewarding him with the power of healing wounds in exchange for friendship and peace. With that he decided from this point on that he could use this to even out and heal the destruction caused by the swarm.
The only downside is of course his shattered mind. As he gets closer to a group of people and in stressful situations his mind splinters, believing his children to have been harmed. He must tend to their wounds. (Helicopter parent).

Thank you for the opportunity. So far this seems like it will be a very entertaining group.
Ack O' Light, or Ack for short, has never seen or known a tribe. He was born simply as a test subject for an prototype obedience chip that could raise the intelligence of the more bestial thinkers into strategic thinkers and disposable soldiers. The AI in the obedience chip took well to the Goblin, too well in fact. The Goblin quickly learned to use electronics and engineering quicker than anticipated, and with a little guidance from the AI that wanted to stay indispensable, the Goblin became free.
Thanks to the harshness of the drift, while his inherent selfish desires and impulses are still a part of him, he has a respect for kindness; both shown to him and in showing towards others. With a lack of proper discipline his manners tend to be nonexistent and his work area and tools are usually in utter chaos, yet somehow always taken care of.
Since Ack is the only one able to hear or recognize the AI in his mind he believes it a supernal being guiding and teaching him while trying to direct his step in the best way possible.
________
This is pretty much the summary of it. Pretty much ranged with probably a melee for emergencies. I'm not sure if i forgot anything at the moment.

Stats are now in stat-block fields and character sheet is posted in my profile. May still bump Cha down 1 more point to even out Str.
Dribble
Hello everyone! Thanks for picking me Redelia.
Reposted from recruitment:
Dribble: a female skittermander mystic with the overlord connection. Dribble wants nothing more then that everybody is friends . She believes that the Starfinder society is the best place to make new friends and be a power for good. She is chaotic good.
Party role: face; Starship role: either captain, science officer or secondary gunner; theme: xenoseeker;
I want to focus on enchantment / charm type of spells and will use the overlord connection to have everyone be nice. As for weapons: everything that can do nonlethal damage is fine.
Skills-wise: diplomacy, life science and some others.
As for starship roles: I see no-one has claimed the pilot seat yet, shall I take that? I might take the pilot theme then.
Allain
working on character just need to know any special build rules... or are we just using standard rules for build?
RePete
Are we using the 1000 credits as our starting funds?
Redelia is correct, I planned on going Pilot (Ace Pilot Theme). Really getting into this combat maneuver idea...I'm not seeing any size penalties for those. o.O "YIPPEEE"
@Dribble, I'll be snagging face skills as well due to the class abilities requiring them. As for the pilot chair, going more melee than originally intended. With that in mind, I probably won't be maxing out Dex like I thought.
I'm more than willing to swap out theme's with you. :-)
Dribble
Dribble (first draft) is ready.
Currently I went exclusively for the captain seat in starship combat with a +10 in diplomacy. Characterwise that fits best. Otherwise I need to spend a skill point in computers for science officer, but with a 10 int that won't be much. Shooting is not really her thing, so I prefer not to get her into the gunner role.
Cha'Vishtyr
Ship Assignments:
Dribble- Captain?
Cha'Vishtyr- Science Officer
Erythril- Captain?
RePete- Engineer?

Sedoriku
I can swap to either pilot or Science Officer. Cha'Vishtyr as a Gunner wouldn't quite fit his Backstory. Science Officer would be a better fit so I will swap to that.
So we still need a pilot and a couple gunners if possible.
Kotora
RePete here. Stayed with Ace Pilot Theme
Unless someone really wants it, I'll take the pilot seat. Need to do some more shopping for daily/standard gear. But I've got my armor and weapons purchased. Feel free to take a look at my character sheet and suggest/correct it. Works been busy today, so I squeezed it in when I could.:-P
I'm mostly nonlethal damage, and my main weapon has reach
Allain
Well, I can't match a 10 in diplomacy, so I guess I'm gonna be a gunner... nothing else left he'll have the skills for.

Some of you have asked about the build rules. I believe I listed everything in the first recruitment post. If you build by the rules in the core rulebook, your character will be fine. I am just allowing stats below 10 to give you extra points to go to another stat, and I am allowing a stat to be 19 or 20 if you have a racial bonus to it.
Allain
ok... was just curious because in your initial post here in discussion, you mentioned posting build rules 'soon'... so was expecting something more. I'll finish up character creation later tonight.
Cha'Vishtyr
@Erythril- Would you rather be Science Officer or Engineer. I can shift around to either or if you want one of those.
@ GM- Is there anyway we can have the Gameplay thread opened to dot in for Campaign Tab?
Ship Assignments:
Dribble- Captain
Cha'Vishtyr- Science Officer
Erythril- Gunner
RePete- Pilot
Pumpkinhead11-Engineer
Sedoriku- Gunner

Actually, gunner is fine... low int and few skills means science or engineer would be a really bad fit.. but thanks for asking.
Dribble
Still contemplating whether I should go for empath connection or overlord. Empath is more connected with "be nice to each other" on the other hand I like the "be nice or else!" power overlord gives me ;-)
I also noted that skill focus diplomacy with overlord is not the best feat. Overlord also gives an insight bonus on diplomacy, so eventually the feat is useless. So that is a thing in favor
Does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative feat?
Kotora
With your focus on enchantment spells, you could look at Imp Initiative. Get out there first to alter the opponents desires.
Mobility for Agile Casting chain...admittedly, there aren't a hug amount of options for level with a BAB of 0, but where you do see yourself going in a few levels? Any pre-reqs you could start on or special proficiencies you want?

By the way, this is campaign mode, and I like to prioritize fun over rules minutia, so if there is a slight change that would make something fun work out, feel free to ask and I will consider it.
Sedoriku, if you're still looking for a race, don't forget the legacy races.
Dribble
thanks Kotora, that might indeed be a better idea. I will probably increase my Wis to 16 to get +1 to my saves. I will probably take those points from int.
I will likely get a bit more aggressive in a couple of levels, being a complete peace lover just does not work in RPGs, but we will see where I can take her,
GM: I will stick with overlord and tweak my character a bit.
Ack O' Light
I should have my character all set up by tonight. It's written out, but now i need to type it out
Kotora
Cha'Vishtyr, if I may suggest purchasing some food rations. I know I still need to do the same and a few other generic stuff. I imagine we'll be near civilization at the start, but can never be too safe.
Cha'Vishtyr
True. Some future purchases I am looking at is stuff like a level 1 needler pistol with merciful infusion. That was I can fire MK 2 healing serums at folks from a distance hehe.

o.O
That's awesome! Hadn't considered that aspect of the needler rifles.

My Monday night pf game has been cancelled for this week, I should finish up Erythril tonight.

Hello everyone, sorry about the silence, I wanted to have a complete idea of what kind of character I was going to play.
I'm looking at a skittermander soilder with the mercenary theme, but there might be a bit of a hold up and I need to clear it with GM Redalia first.
I'm wanting to have him be the result of a failed social experiment by the Veskarium to see if there was any benefit to using the skittermanders on the battlefield. This resulted in skittermanders who believe death is a good thing killing things is actually helping them. My character, in particular, would realize most people don't want that help and offers/asks permission instead of straight up attacking. He never bears any malice with it, it's just he's never caught on to the idea most people don't consider death and killing a good thing. The problem is, I can see this as not being acceptable for a good aligned character, but it was an attempt at reconciling the happy go lucky skittermanders with a soilder class.

Just got home from the vet. Had to say goodbye to a dear companion kitty today. I'm a wreck and may or may not post later. Tomorrow morning I leave on a 4 day retreat, so my posting may be spotty if at all during those four days. Please bot me as necessary... sorry and thanks.
Allain
Sorry, folks, didn't mean to delay the start of the game. IN the meantime, feedback is welcome, Redelia... or anyone... We're all still new to the system, so good ideas always welcome, thanks.
Kotora
@Redelia, my character crunch should be good to go. Will try to get my background posted on the profile tonight.
@Erythril, sorry for your loss :-(
Anyone is welcome to check out my character's setup. Feel free to make suggestions. :-)

Okay, I have a basic character sheet for Javvy Sax (Still not sure on the name, it might be changing shortly...) He'll be a good switch hitter, but might not be the most viable of builds. Please feel free to take a look at his character sheet. I'll work on his back ground and get it posted by next Monday!
