Female Halfling Alchemist (Construct Rider) 2

We're looking for a red-haired Ulfen by the name of Elias Kyle. Bellis said, deciding not to directly bring up the taxes just yet. We were told he came down this way on some business.

DM:

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

Andretti nods his head in agreement. He did. Didn't waste any time making an ass of himself either. Sorry if you're friends of his, but he was. We finished his business as quick as I could and sent him on his away the next morning. That was over a month ago, so I have no idea where he is now. Folding his arms and furrowing his brow, the mayor ask, What's your business with him anyway? You don't, for the most part, with a glace at Veter and Liana look like Riddleport folks or debt collectors, and I can't imagine him having any friends who'd come out here to look for him.

Sense Motive DC25:

You get the impression that he isn't telling the whole story and is phrasing what he does say deliberately.

Dimitrio smiles at all the festivities being prepared. His first impression of the place markedly improves.

He turns to the mayor and bows, "Please to make your acquaintance, sir. Now this fellow we are looking for is not our friend but he may just have our money so anything you can share with us about him is very much appreciated, eh?"

Dimitrio will want to buy some embroidery from the girls, play some dice, and offer to dance at the upcoming festival

Liana scoffs under her breath when she meets Andretti's unapproving gaze but makes no argument.

That doesn't surprise me. Unfortunately, I don't have much else for you. We didn't exactly spend a lot of time heart to heart. I'm pretty sure he's from Magnimar and that's where he said he'd be returning, but I can't say for certain whether he was telling the truth.

Andretty's attention starts to wander a bit, keeping an eye on the woman and the preparations. If you're not in a terrible hurry, you're welcome to join us for the Feast. Can't imagine half a day will make a terrible difference in your search and there's plenty of food to go around. We don't get many visitors and it'll be nice for the usual winners to have someone new to worry about.

Sounds good Dimitrio. Once everyone is done with the mayor, we can skip ahead to the feast or keep talking to people. There's enough time between now and then to do some gather information checks or various other activities.

Hmm, a feast sounds very t-tempting. What's the nature of the celebration?

When out of earshot of any townspeople,

M-might I suggest that someone speak to the little boy - um, Orni, I believe - to see if he remembers Ulfen and to . . . ch-check or verify what the mayor is telling us? Might I suggest that someone be someone who is, uh, g-good with children... Zeek sneaks a nervous glance at Veter as he says this...

The mayor shrugs and then laughs a little consciously. We call it the Founder's Feast. It's to celebrate the founding of Ravenmoor. We have it every month more or less. There are races and wrestling, that sort of thing. A lot of people really enjoy it. Myself I prefer the eating. It's a chance for people to show off their cooking, and as mayor I get to try it first. This one's a bit more special though. We'll be choosing this year's Feast Queen, that's what the girls are getting dressed up for.

Demitri, I guess you and I should ask around before they get started.

The bard smiles, "This is my kind of feast. I have been appreciating the beauty of girls and women for a long time. I'm a virtual connoisseur of the female, yes? Do you perchance need an out-of-town judge, eh? You know, someone impartial that has no knowledge of the local females?"

Veter raises and eyebrow at Zeeks comment. "All your sarcasm aside, I will not be speaking to the children. That being said, a lot can be learned from merely listening. I will attend the feast, but I will ask very few questions. Bellis and Dimitrio, I will be with you but do not acknowledge my presence. I merely want to watch the reactions of those you speak with. It will not be obvious that I am with you."

Small villages like this, Bellis replied, they'll probably know or assume that anyway. But yes, keep your ears open.
