Wowzers, that's quite the haul.
Too bad our melee folks are so good and kind hearted.

Someone should take the time to explain more to Nym. You all met during the heat of the battle but don't know much about each others backgrounds. Nor has the drow ever been topside with that big bright sun. So Orctown and Featherton and the open space will be an interesting experience to him.

Someone should take the time to explain more to Nym.
Got it.
Karnog is the god of the orcs known as their greatest savior. Grungsdi is his mortal king, Felicitas is his royal herald, and Desmond is his concubine whore.
And Kalin is some salty bald dude with a tumor that follows us around.

Haha!
In a twisted, sarcastic, smarty pants way, Desmond is not incorrect.
Although Karnog has much better taste than to take Desmond to bed. No offense, buddy, but Desmond is kinda a dirty dog.
Karnog Kegmeister
Oh wow.
There's so much wrong with that statement I don't know where to start.

I'm currently reading through our past exploits to come up with a bunch of quotes & hints that we've probably missed.
Plus, that fight at the castle gate was RIDICULOUS.
Will have a post up soon, almost done with the re-read, currently at the dwarven mage/blacksmith.
baldwin the merciful
Remember I did have you all (Karnog excluded) level up during the rest while Desmond's went whorin'. Even though fighting a fallen angel added another 154,000 XP and the mindflayer another 4,800 XP, tons of fodder and RP it's not nearly enough to level up again. The jump from 13 to 14th level is a 130K XP.
I figure you need to get more RP in and another couple good side adventures to level up again. But rest assured I have a few devious events planned.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
"LORD NAPHRATHOTH, FALLEN EMPYREAL COMMANDER is a corrupted fallen angel. Orcus himself perverted all that was good and twisted him into a deathleech." Her empty eyes sparkle with envy. "Lord Naprathoth oozes necromatic death, he senses death, radiates death, and claims death for his own empowering and drinking energy." She makes sure the information sinks in. [b]"It's a fools folly to challenge the Lord Naphrathoth directly. Such move will result in certain corrupted death. But should a moron decide to tackle that task, it is rumored that he can not be harmed by ability damage, ability drain, acid, cold, death effects, evil spells, negative energy, and petrification.'
There is long pause before she says, "So, you want to know about Patrol Captain Luther." It's more of statement than question. Her obvious disdain for the graveknight resonates. I'll have to fill this in a bit later but it should get you chatting. She is open to answer question about Lord Naphrathoth.
But not immune to big dwarves, axes, or disintegrate spells!
"Patrol Captain Luther, a is a dwarven vampire who controls the skeleton and zombie troops that patrol the courtyard Black Garrison. That is the former army of Tsar. He positions and watches over the first floor areas ensuring the remaining teleporation in and out of the area is scrutinized. Nothing arriving at the teleportal gets by the drawbridge." She lets that sink in. "Of course, the second floor is a wide open floor plan; the inhabitant is a marilith demon known as Blayze." She giggles. "Blayze you get the irony, don't you?"
She laughs more. " She personally leads the elite black skeleton troops, deploying the archers along the battlements before meeting with her infantry to repel anyone in the courtyard." She looks over your small group. You're not intending to try to rid the place of evil are you? Because if you are then the third floor is a magnificently appointed greatroom, with maps of the wilderness for miles in all directions adorning the walls. This area is the domain of the garrison captain, Lord Naphrathoth, the fallen empyreal, and former lieutenant to General Nimrod and tasked to keep the “back door” into Rappan Athuk secure, Naphrathoth takes his station VERY serious. He would rather die than lose this garrison position, and will fight any force to his utter destruction."
Maps of the surrounding area & a back entrance? Worth looking into maybe in the future.
Grung frowns as some images begin to flood back.
If'n I recalls, Prung is an arse. Not sure I like that blade in his hand. Think yer god can put us in touch?
Karnog: "Up on the surface, or closer, yes. Down here in this cursed place, I doubt it. My visions related that my powers would be diminished, including a blockage to the heavens for my summoned friends. I would be glad to ask when we have left this place."
NB: we encountered the Black Gate and the Gatehouse on July 7, 2016! - almost a YEAR to handle that assault and retreat! WOW.
Kalim Gudlavaletti knowledge religion: 1d20 ⇒ 1 intimidate to shake: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (15) + 23 = 38
Kalim thinks about how much he knows about vampires. He then takes out his magic spear, spinning it impressively.
"Captain Luther, on this day, we shall rid the world of your existence."
Kalim fireballs the two skellies with crossbows to the noeth. fireball dc20: 10d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 1, 5, 5, 1, 2, 1, 1, 2) = 25
"BEAR WITNESS, ANY THAT CAN. THE GRAVEKNIGHT IS DESTROYED. BLAYZE RAN, TAIL 'TWEEN HER LEGS. THIS WE DID WITHOUT SUSTAINING A SINGLE LOSS. THINGS ARE CHANGING, HERE AS ANYWHERE. THE VOID HUNGERS. WILL YOU STAND WITH US AGAINST IT?"
"Well let me see what it says..." He unrolls a ancient scroll. "...it just mentions the weapon." He looks up. "But I do know this if you present that weapon to the denizen around here, you will face many many battles from every and anyone who is trying to incur favor with Orcus and his Commanders. You need to mask that thing...hide it's magic, hide it's aura."
He rubs his chin and scans the scroll some more. "Well, it does mention that for the wielder to survive they must weaken the Avatar by Consecrating the three Shrines of Power. This will weaken him by taking away abilities."
He goes on and mentions, "There is Upper Chapel of Orcus, Lower Chapel of Orcus, and Grand Chapel of Orcus."
Level 4 Upper level, 9 Lower Level, and 14 Grand Chapel respectively.
"It says here that the last and most powerful chapel may only be accessed by the secret door on Level 5, and that that door may only be opened by the key held by the high priest on Level 9."
You've been on level 4 before that is were you found Meathead, you didn't go into the cavern far enough to get to the chapel.
So, we should probably make it a priority to check out the Temple of Orcus (area 3, I believe) which should provide a back way into the Gatehouse Area.
We also need to clear out those three Chapels at some point.
I have not added the latest treasure to the list, but will do so tonight at some point.
I'd just like to say, this is one of the most bad-ass, epic, and fun campaign I have been part of. Thank you GM Baldwin, you really do put in some good work to make it awesome.

Some other information you may wish to research more about:
1) Orcus - Demon Lord of the Undead
2)Tsathogga - Demon Frog God
3) Hecate - Goddess of Evil Magic
You've come across these three gods and demigods.
Link with some Orcus and Hecate Knowledge.
You may recall they don't necessarily like one another.
baldwin the merciful
Will do! But then a real big town with a big library would be much better?
Well you do have a trade town Fentonville where you'll be able to find some resources. It's on a trade route so it's actually quite wealthy and there are some interesting folks there. Some of the town features and notables are listed under the campaign tab. They were areas previously visited by the various members of the party. I'll have to sprinkle in a few more people.

Desires:
Holy Warhammer (willing to trade my +2 flaming for it)
Pearls of Power (2nd, 3rd, or higher)
Flight items.
I don't know who wants what, but will do up the loot list later on tonight, assuming the snowstorm allows.
MiniGM
doh Croaker IS a +3 so I was actually using a +5 against the angel. That would have changed things...
Anyhow always looking to up the Ax, up the armor and shield. Amulet of NA+3
Nothing exciting from me, just getting the stats boosted. Raise the AC Raise the chance to hit etc, raise the saves

Okay, treasure sheet updated.
I am figuring we sell the extremely valuable weapons, and liquidating all the gems. Karnog will most likely be taking a good chunk of his share in diamonds / diamond dust.
There is a Bag of Holding type 2, a circlet of persuasion, the silk robes for AC/Saves +2, and 2 rings of protection +2 available. Also a cloak of resistance +1 & a pouch of holding.
Theres' also a WHOLE bunch of potions. Check it out and take what you want - everyone should have access to modify if you so desire.
Karnog Kegmeister
kalim, what was your cloak?
Karnog Kegmeister
Okay, they're listed in the sheet, but nothing's finalized yet.
Just there to give a general idea of values.
BTW, that sword was a +7 weapon - most valuable single thing we've come across as of yet!
Karnog Kegmeister
HAHAHA.
Pet ogre with a brilliant energy unholy greatsword?
That's just ridiculous enough to work!
BTW, if any character I've had were to take Leadership, Karnog is the #1, I'd say.
Not that I have any intention of that, but he just seems to be screaming for it!
