Hernvet takes a closer look at Kakrish trying to figure out what's wrong.

The orbs are the purple circle on the map. So there are quite big. Current Map

Hernvet focus his attention on Kakrish, while the rest of the group is still at lost at what is going on right now. All of a sudden, Hoga moves toward the center orb and swing his axe. The blade dig deep in the glass of the orb. A thick purple liquid, similar to what is around the remains of the third orb, starts oozing out of the cracks in the glass. One more hit and what ever is inside will definitely get out.

Having done his best to prevent the breaking of the orbs, Kyras is at a loss and so moves to one of the cabinets to examine it.

"Hey Big Guy, not you too, damn we failed... Kyzen stands ready for any action.

"What is this purple ooz thing"

@Maffei, This post what is known about the liquid in the orbs.

Kakrish waits for Hernvet to do something to break the orbs with magic but the kitsune doesn't seem to do anything. "What are you waiting for?" Out of the corner of his eye, Kakrish sees Hoga go for one of the orbs and smash into it with his sword.

"Now that's what I'm talking about!" Kakrish moves to the same orb and swings his sword at it.

Kyras walks over to the cabinet over to the opposite side of the room. On the outside of it, there is an inscription. It reads: Return what is no longer needed here, lest it weigh you down. Opening the cabinet, you find three lustreless pearl about the size of a marble. They sit on a small silk cushion. As Kyras looks at them, a loud noise of glass shattering followed from a splash of liquid.

As the liquid flow on the floor, a strange mass of ooze with two tentacle exit the orb. It flaps around for a second, but then it tentacles seems to be heading toward Hernvet.

Maffei, Kyzen, Hoga, and Kakrish are up.

Hoga moves towards the ooze, axe ready.

As if reading his mind, Kakrish looks towards Hoga and nods. "I'm with you. Between the two of us we should be able to protect our new buddy. But protect against what? Surely our friends won't attack it."

Kakrish moves towards the ooze with Hoga.

Hernvet takes a step back from the ooze and says "Ey guys we might have a problem" He then casts Resistance on himself.

I fear they are charmed, or worse. Kyras says as he grabs the lustreless pearls and throws one at the ooze.

Kyzen makes a slab of stone rise from the floor in front of Hernvet, providing him cover from the creature. As for Maffei, she remains where she is, preferring to wait out and see what is going to happen. Surprisingly, the creature start rising in the air. It seem to be focusing its attention on Maffei, but the rogue seems unaffected. From near the door, Kyras throw one of the small spheres at the creature. His aim is good and when the tiny object it the creature, it explode with a loud bang. After the explosion, a large globe of shimmering energy appears above the group. The creature is now flying just under it, about ten feet above the floor.

Damage: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 4, 3) = 21

GM, I assume nothing has changed in the directions you gave Kakrish.

Kakrish scans the potential dangers to his new friend. He scowls at Kyras. "Hey! What did you do that for? Stop trying to hurt it." Kakrish moves towards Kyras with the intention of grabbing him so that he doesn't throw anymore spheres at the creature.

Double move to get to Kyras

I am now worried that this will be lethal to some of us as I fear our two best fighters, Kakrish and Hoga are dominated. That would mean our only chance is to kill the creature as dominated creatures will kill friends without a new save iirc.

Its got Kakrish and Hoga under its control. Kill it. Kill it now! Kyras watches Kakrish approach him with hostile intent and is unsure what to do.

Not sure how Maffei could be using sneak attack, she wasn't invisible and and is not currently flanking with anyone.

Both Maffei and Kyzen miss the target. The small creature flies right up to Maffei and and attacks her with its tentacles. One misses thanks to the rogue natural defence, but the other touches her sending a small shock of electricity directly to her head.

Question- is the creature tiny? If so, does it provoke as it enters Maffei's square? If so its important that Maffei step back before Kyras throws because he does not want to hit an ally. Also, was there any visible effect to the Fort save?

Yes, Maffei gets an AoO since the creature is tiny. Forgot to add that ligne. There is no visible effect from the successful fort save.

Kakrish focuses on moving towards Kyras to restrain him when he notices Kyzen and Maffei attack their new friend.

"Hey! Guys! Stop that!" He reverses direction and moves towards Kyzen to restrain him. "Hoga, what is wrong with everyone? You and I seem to be the only ones with our heads on straight here."

Damage: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 1, 5, 3) = 17 missing a 4 and I have a flush ;)

Maffei and Kyzen try to attack the creature, but so far, the little thing prove to be too agile for the duo. On the other side of the room, Kyras manages to hit the creature with one of the small pearls, and again the creature manages to stay out of the sphere of force that appear. After two of the those attacks, it is hard to tell how damaged is the creature since it still look like a pile of goo.

Hoga and Hernvet left.

From where he stand, Hernvet throw his starknife, but the creatures proves to be too agile for the cleric.

The ooze once again fly up to Maffei and attacks her. One of the tentacle hits her again. While the damage is minimun, Maffei feel that there is more to the attack then what is visible.

A starknife flies by Kakrish's head towards his new friend. Kakrish looks stunned and turns around to see Hernvet there. "Did you throw that? Why? We're not supposed to attack friends!" Kakrish changes his direction and grabs Hernvet.

Hernvet starts struggling in Kakrish's arms and try's to reverse the grapple.

Hernvet starts making headway in overpowering Kakrish during the stuggle he says. "Heh just like wrestlin a wild goat to the ground when they would escape back in the caravans."

Then after Hernvet feels he has a hold on Kakrish he says "Listen I am simply protecting our friends from that creature and that includes you"

Kyras moves away from Hoga, as the large half-orc tries to communicate with his new friends. Kakrish and Hernvet are grappling and while Kyzen seems to be unable to get a good hit on the creature, Maffei manages to slashes twice at it. Once more, the ooze's tentacle manages to hit Maffei. The electrical energy is relly starting to affect the rogue's though process.

Kyzen blast of earth energy pulverize the flying ooze. Goo and tentacles pieces goes flying in every direction. At the same time, the voices in Hoga and Kakrish minds go quiet, leaving them able to act normally. With the room clear, you have time to inspect the next door. You find no trace of possible traps or foul play. Listening at the door, you hear no noise coming from the other side.

GM, what is Maffei`s intel damage from last attack?

Breathing hard from the fight. Kyras looks worriedly at his friends Hoga and Kakrish and prepares to defend Kyzen if needed. Nice shot Kyzen. I was getting worried about this fight. Hoga, Karkish, you guys ok?

Kakrish shakes his head and then notices that he has Hernvet grappled. "Hey. What's going on? Wait? Why were we wrestling? Oh yeah. It was the ooze thing."

Kakrish lets go of Hernvet and looks at the messy remains of the creature. "That's just disgusting."

He replies to Kyras. "Yeah, I think I'm ok."
