Kyras finds no traps on or around the door. No wasting time, Hoga opens the door followed by the rest of the group. A tiled pool dominates this chamber, which has a fifteen-foot high barrel-vault ceiling. The waters are clear and three feet deep. Three marble platforms featuring the same mosaic design found in the monastery above rise along the pool’s center, protruding six inches above the water’s surface. Four octagonal, domed alcoves in the corners each hold a marble pillar.

Near the southeast alcove, a large hole has been dug in the wall. As you start walking in, three grioth walk out of the tunnel. Seeing you, the move in to attacks. One of the Grioth walks around the pull toward you while the other two move up the eastern wall and cast a spell at some of you.

Hoga and Kyras, will save DC 15. If you fail, read the spoiler.:

"Oh look! Someone came to play!" Kakrish starts to grab his greatsword but then remembers the bow. "Now's a good time to try this thing out." He wields the bow and aims at one of the creatures on the other side of the pool.

"By the way, everyone hold onto your marbles. Those things are casting confusion spells. If you're not careful you might end up babbling incoherently." Kakrish looks over to Kyras and grins. "Just like that!"

"Kakrish keep shooting I am gonna head up and help Hoga so Good Luck" Hernvet touches Kakrish and uses Bit of Luck on him. (Next time you roll a d20 you roll 2 and take the preferred roll) Then Hernvet starts moving towards Hoga.


Hoga charges at the lone Grioth and inflict a good hit with his great axe. As Kyras stand there doing nothing, Kakrish tries out his bow, but the aim is off target. Maffei quickly moves to join Hoga as Kyzen sends one of his blast of energy across the water. He hits the Grioth in the chest, knocking the wind out of it for a few seconds.

The two Grioths once again cast a spell at the group. The green one aims at Kyzen and Hernvet while the purple aims for Kyras and Kakrish. Two explosions of loud noise can be heard once they are done casting. Two third of the group has their ear ringing after this. Taking a step back, the third Grioth pulls out a scroll and cast a spell. All of a sudden, most of the room is plunged in total darkness.

Pretty sure you can't save it for later.

At first Kakrish is confused and taken aback from the explosion but he quickly recovers.

It's not my turn but I'm not stunned either.


Maffei and Hoga combine attack bring down the foe in front of them. Kyzen's second blast make a bloody mess of his target, killing it on the spot. The last grioth flies over to the platform in the water and release a burst of negative energy. The burst hits almost everyone but Maffei and Hoga.

After firing Kyras backs up to be outside the channeling radius.

The first and second postes didn't work, but the numbers were the same. With the third I still make the save, but the Attack was 15, not 19.

This time, only Maffei and Hernvet manage to inflict some damage to the Grioth. While Maffei's spell seem impressive, he manages to realise that most of it was just an illusion. Severely injured, he sends a third wave of negative energy at the group, except Kyras who moved out of range.

This time, the group score some go hit and take down the last of the Grioth. With nothing in your way now, it seems to be just a question of navigating the tunnel to get to the dragon. Looking at the three Grioths, you fins some useful gear. There are two scroll of Deeper darkness, three masterwork breastplates, three masterwork daggers, and finally three scrolls of Soundburst.

Looking over each other, you realize that maybe a small rest might be in order before you go further in.
