Thrand Prymlea |
Thrand easily withstands the extreme stench of these hellish creatures. He has smelled worse, like the time a stable boy fed baked beans to his family's horses. However, he suddenly realizes how exposed he is being this far ahead of the rest of the party.

Arendyl holds his breath some, moves up and sends an arrow at the red dretch and while it is a solid blow the arrow does not sink too deep into the creature and it acts as if it was not hit...

Thrand says, "Ollok? You look a little sick. Stay back and protect my head and shoulders until you feel better. Try not to vomit on me."

Tzardusk tries to stop the dretch from finishing its spell, casting hypnotic pattern in front of it, hoping it succumbs to the spell.
will save, dc 15
A twisting pattern of subtle, shifting colors weaves through the air, fascinating creatures within it. Roll 2d4 and add your caster level (maximum 10) to determine the total number of HD of creatures affected. Creatures with the fewest HD are affected first; and, among creatures with equal HD, those who are closest to the spell's point of origin are affected first. HD that are not sufficient to affect a creature are wasted. Affected creatures become fascinated by the pattern of colors. Sightless creatures are not affected.
hd affected: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4) + 3 = 8
GM Qwerty |
The group quickly swarm the dretch to disrupt his spellcasting and Thrand manages to dispatch the dretch with enough blows from his sword. They do know the second dretch ran off to wards the south. Taking the time for a conference on what occurred the group realizes they may not be dealing with enemies from this plane of existence as they examine the fallen foe and determine he is not arcane, religious nor natural in origin. Anchard, Tanariel and Tzardusk feel that a weapon dealing damage to outsiders would be helpful right about now. Thrand seems a bit saddened the stag sword is just a really well made and ornate sword and not a plane defeating sword.
Tzarsuk- save your hypnotic pattern, twas not needed this fight
Thrand Prymlea |
Thrand takes a moment to make sure that his oil of Bless Weapon is within easy reach, just in case that might be useful in this fight. "Quickly, to the south!" he exclaims. "Light the way and I will follow."
Thrand Prymlea |
Thrand moves forward to see what he can see. He looks to the southwest and to the southeast.
Which way did the other dretch go?
Tzardüsk |
Tzardusk follows along, curious to see what the party might find down the tunnel.

Tanarial detects a tremendous amount of magic to the groups left, where Thran, Ollok and Tzardusk ran down to find the dretch that ran away...
