Sorry folks. I will be visiting family for the next few days. I HOPE to be able to post, but their internet is less than reliable. So if I take too long to do so and you need to 'bot me'. Feel free.

Have a nice trip, see you next fall! :) teehee ...ok bad joke.

Apologies for being slow over the last few days. I had hopedi could GM a dungeon crawl quicker (as it's not my favourite aspect of gaming) but I'll pick the pace up again. Thanks for your patience and Grob - enjoy your trip.

No worries, thanks for checking in. I think dungeon crawls are especially crawley in pbp, but I know we'll get through it.

Monk lvl 1 [ HP 12/12 | AC 16 T 15 FF 10 | CMD 16 | F +5 R +4 W +5 | Init +2 Per +7 (+9) ]

Hey guys.
Sorry for being slow in posting this last week. I have a holiday trip coming and my boss had me jumping through rings of fire while playing bagpipes to make up for the time I will be away.

Incidentally I will be travelling from the 25th of august to sept 12th. On the first week I will be camping and will have no internet access. I will probably find some on the second part of my trip when I arrive at NYC.

Things seem to be almost wrapping up here and I am sorry if I end up not being around for the grand finale. Feel free to DMNPC Romund as needed.

Male Half Orc Druid 3 (HP: 17/22; AC 19, (t11, ff17); F+4,R+2,W+6; init +1/Per +10)

Last time we leveled, we got automatic max hitpoints. Is that going to be the case for leveling to 3 as well? Or was that a one time favor because we were in a smaller party than originally intended?

I'd say take maximum this time too. I'm also going to make sure your treasure equates to enough gp to balance out what brand new level 3 characters are going to be ale to spend.

Male Half Orc Druid 3 (HP: 17/22; AC 19, (t11, ff17); F+4,R+2,W+6; init +1/Per +10)

Oooo...max hitpoints again. Thank you

Monk lvl 1 [ HP 12/12 | AC 16 T 15 FF 10 | CMD 16 | F +5 R +4 W +5 | Init +2 Per +7 (+9) ]

Found a new picture for Romund, I thinks it looks more in line with the half orc kid idea that I had going for him. By the way they added more half orc pics to the site's roster, there is some nice ones.

I think the new Romund will take some getting used to. I remember him when he was just a lad...

lol, ah how the time does fly.

With a cleric and an oracle added to the party, what other class would best round out the group?

Lets see,

Rogue
Fighter
Ranger
Cleric
Oracle
.....

That seems pretty well rounded, but if we wanted to add one more (which I'm completely cool with) I'd say straight up arcane.

We've got dps, a face, skills, healing, ranged, melee.... I don't know how the Oracle is stated but arcane is looking promising. If we want more flavor rather than the ideal skill set then I'd say just take something interesting and/or fun. Either route I'm ok with.

Yay a full party again! :)

Male Half Orc Druid 3 (HP: 17/22; AC 19, (t11, ff17); F+4,R+2,W+6; init +1/Per +10)

Yeah, an arcane might round things out for that sense of balance

Hello everyone, just wanted to drop a dot in here, and thank you all for taking me on board. Looking forward to participate in this one :D

I think we're just waiting for Romund - and his arrival in NYC when he hopes to have internet access.

For the veterans, how do you want to handle the disposal of the treasure? Role-play or here?

Once we've resolved that, we can start up again from your conversation with the Pathfinder.

Hello back. So... What is this I hear about treasure...? :D

Grob, Grum and Romund only (sorry new guys)...

Having spoken to various friends and shopkeepers in town, you have a full understanding of the valuables. You have:
A wand of Magic Missile with 22 charges left – value 4,000gp
Bracers of armour +1 – value 800gp
A horn of fog – value 1,600gp
5,000gp in newly minted coins
A spellbook (that contains the following spells – cause fear, enlarge person, expeditious retreat, false life, levitate, mage armor, magic missile, ray of enfeeblement, and all wizard cantrips) – value undefined as no-one wants to buy it
A bag of holding (Type I) - value 2,000gp
A mithral shield – value 800gp
A still undefined precious stone

Plus anything else you picked up along the way. Let me know if you want to sell it.

Don't forget these are prices to sell, not to buy. And the price reflects the size of town you are in, balanced by the goodwill the traders feel towards you.

Now you just need to decide what you’ll sell and what you’ll keep. And what you’ll donate to the town and/or next of kin for the loss of life of course. The rest I presume you’ll split three ways.

Remember, run any magical purchases past me first. This is a small town and will not have a huge selection of expensive items for sale to a predominantly rural population i.e. its clientele are mostly farmers and local traders. Think about it, how many locals could afford, let alone need a horn of fog?

Male Half Orc Druid 3 (HP: 17/22; AC 19, (t11, ff17); F+4,R+2,W+6; init +1/Per +10)

Well, Grob prefers two handed weapons, so he'll pass on the shield. The Bag of holding? THAT looks neat, and he'd like it, but even if someone else wants it more, he would want it to stay in use for the party. That's just too handy for hauling group loot.

Horn of Fog also intrigues him, but he doesn't play. So mostly he'd take the bag (If allowed) , whatever is his share of treasure and use a little on himself, and a lot on his mother. I've no idea on the price of a larger house :)

OUT of character, I'd be for keeping the spell book and then offering it up to an arcane type. But I'm not sure how to rationalize it in character. I suppose they could hold onto it in hopes of selling it a bigger town one day, or hoping a visiting wizard comes through and pays big money for it. :)

Logic says houses here aren't bought, they're made. If the land's free, you can build on it. I'll do some maths over the week-end and see what it might cost to build something. Most of the price guides in the city books assume the cost of land by definition - which is typically more than the building cost itself.

Male Half Orc Druid 3 (HP: 17/22; AC 19, (t11, ff17); F+4,R+2,W+6; init +1/Per +10)

ah, so more for paying for the lumber and/or stone and for the labor/skill. :) That makes perfect sense. Thanks.

Googled it and someone else has dome the maths. 200gp buys the labour and materials to build a basic house. The more you spend, the more opulent you can presume it is.

Gosh I say keep it all except the mithral shield (being a two handed switch hitter himself) unless one of the newcomers wants it. Grum wouldn't know that more folks are on the way, but it's quite possible he'd be wanting to add more to the party if he intends to continue questing. If our front liner(s?) don't want them we can and should give a low AC character the bracers as well, imo. Were we able to determine if the precious stone is magical and/or get an appraisal of it?

Oh and lets sell the coins. ;)

I vote a group purchase of a wand of CLW if it's available.

Peri-Blooded Aasimar (Emberkin) Male Angel-Blooded Aasimar (Angelkin) Oracle 4/Paladin (Hospitaler) 2[HP: 58/58 - AC: 19|12|17 - For:+11 | Ref:+8 | Wil:+10 - Per:-2 Init:+2]

Heledar uses a shield - what exactly is the mithral shield? Medium? Heavy?

In any case, I do not know if we should be entitled any of your loot :D

As for the wand of CLW.... If and when I am around, I don't think you will need one, but it is obviously always an excellent addition for a more critical situation ;)

I think for shields it just makes them lighter. I don't like to meta too much, but on the other hand I'm generally in favor of making the party the most successful it can be. I don't think new folks are entitled to any new loot, but that doesn't mean we can't still give it! :)

Mithral wrote:

GM - what is the shield? 'heavy steel' I imagine? Since mithral is as hard as steel.

I think a wand of CLW is a must when a group can afford it to get people back up to shape in between combats, and save the healers spells for the dire situations during combat. At least that's how I've found their use more effective.

It's classed as a light steel shield - but with the properties of mitral.

HP: 39/39 - AC: 16|12|14 - For:+5 | Rex:+4 | Wil:+10 - Per:+12 Init:+2

Not to jump uninvited into your loot and resources discussion but...
unless Heledar has changed his build, both he and Rumha channel energy and have CLW and CMW. I think healing is pretty well in hand. I'm not against wands of CLW; they allow the healers to save up spells and channels between battles. But you might be able to put that money to better use.

Male Half Orc Druid 3 (HP: 17/22; AC 19, (t11, ff17); F+4,R+2,W+6; init +1/Per +10)

Rumha brings up a good point.

@GM- Grob is definitely going to go with the bigger/better house idea for his mom, but I'll need to see what my share is before I commit how much. :)

Is it ok if I drop a dot on Gameplay?

Heledar wrote:

That's fine...

We'll not leave Romund behind but I want to press on slowly for the sake of the new recruits. Therefore:

1. Please clarify what you'll be selling and if you want to buy anything and how you'll share the money out
2. Once that's concluded, we'll pick up with the Pathfinder conversation - if the new guys want to join in at that point, I can give them an early opportunity.

Let's aim to be up and running in 24 hours. The Masks of the Living God await...

Male Half Orc Druid 3 (HP: 17/22; AC 19, (t11, ff17); F+4,R+2,W+6; init +1/Per +10)

Understood. We never really did settle on what we're selling. Grob will definitely keep the bag of holding though. I just love those things.

I propose:

A wand of Magic Missile with 22 charges left – value 4,000gp (KEEP)
Bracers of armour +1 – value 800gp (KEEP)
A horn of fog – value 1,600gp (KEEP)
5,000gp in newly minted coins (N/A)
A spellbook (KEEP)
A bag of holding (Type I) - value 2,000gp (KEEP)
A mithral shield – value 800gp (KEEP)
A still undefined precious stone (KEEP)

Yes I just realized I'm suggesting we keep them all... I just went down the list and excluded the coins and that's what I came up with. Any objections please say so now or forever hold you peace. :)

Male Half Orc Druid 3 (HP: 17/22; AC 19, (t11, ff17); F+4,R+2,W+6; init +1/Per +10)

I'm... baffled as to why you want to keep them all.
