Get back 4 hp then from a bite that would've missed and don't need to make that Will save.

Koran smashes another sinspawn like a bug! Only 6 remain....

Derrik watches as the creatures swarm around him and try to flee every which Direction, though few remain. In the confusion a claw digs into the side of his massive calves but he retorts with a well-placed Shieldbash instead as one flees. Placing his other hand behind the smashing blow as well for a weighted slam, the force or a crane dropping a heavy load.

Derrik takes some satisfaction in the crunching sound the sinspawn's face makes as his massy shield impacts it....

Shrieking in pain and dismay as their grisly feast is rudely interrupted by blows from Koran's giant hammer and Derrik's giant axe, the remaining sinspawn suddenly seem to realize that they have bit off more than they can chew....

Withdrawing, the sinspawn still draw AoOs from Derrik and Koran, who have reach....

Radsworth watches the sick spawn shamble away into the warm sunny afternoon.

This was all madness!

He removes his top hat and mournfully stands over Kinyama's corpse.

"Do we continue the mission or return to Pandora?"

After venting his white-hot wrath on the fleeing sinspawn, Derrik grieves the fallen kitsune and gently puts the remains in the earth on the beach as seagulls cry.

A soft rain begins to fall, and a rainbow appears in the sky over Lido Beach....

Male Human (Dwarfblood/Infused) Inquistor 12/ Paladin of Vengence 4 / Chevalier 3| Mythic Guardian-Champion 9 (Lvl 19)

After the ceremony and time of grieving elapses Derrik looks to Team Lido.. The Fierce Ones; His head scanning them all.. landing on Radsworth though not intently in any way.

" This.. This has been a heavy blow to all of us. You seniors of Team Lido that has known Kinyama far longer than me could not be sympathized with when it comes to the grief you must now feel. Even I will mourn his brave loss. But I shall say this now, I believe that we have a part in the great cycle of destiny. That part can be what eventually brings this world back to normal from The Great Old Ones' reign. Kinyama put his life on the line knowing this could be a possibility. Let us not make his sacrifice be in vain... We must try and finish this mission.. for the betterment of the world. Know this is a responsibility far greater than anything you could have done before and thus takes far better character to stomach. If you cannot handle such, I advise you hide under a rock and let the world rot. I will say this now... I will not run, even if faced with impending doom; If there is another death.. I shall ensure it is me before all others. What say you all.. will you run.. or will you continue to fight?"

Derrik's imposing visage heightened in the rain.. gore and blood dripping of his axe and armor as the darkness from the rain washing it off gives a impacting tone to the situation. He grips his axe, Dawnbringer and heads their previous direction

" And I intend to make true my promises..every single one that has tastes his blood and any of their fellow hell-spawn shall be dealt with " Moving over and chopping the head off of one he felled with one strike and a sickening sklurch " And the particular one's presented before the other spawn as an example.. before they too shall fall.. I swear this"

Even without looking up from the soft sand that now entombs the brave soldier, Rads deep scowl is obvious.

"Shut up you sanctimonious ass. We should have ran. If you want to go on about failings it's fairly obvious they are of a tactical nature."

He looks up into the rain, letting it soak his soul.

"We are primarily a salvage group. Our combat tactics should rely on surprise and attrition in a mobile encounter. We should have retreated to any number of these buildings and had myself, Kinyama, and Kate providing support to you and Koran..."

He lets the thought trail off.

"Further, avenging Kinyama won't help Pandoras Box survive. Every resource we spend must be weighed against what is gathered! If you go to track down every last spawn on this continent, it won't bring Kinyama back and will more likely end in the deaths of yourself and others of our operation!"

He spits on the ground between himself and Derrik.

"Mankind as it has existed is finished. The premise of good vs evil was a moral luxury for our species to indulge in when we had our run of the world. Now survival of the species is our dilemma. Is the behavior found in one set of DNA likely to aid or doom it's offspring? If you pass on to our young a suicidal tendency to immerse yourself in armed combat for every slight of honor, will it aid or hamper their chance of survival?"

Rad stalks off about 15 feet and kicks a clump of wet beach sand into the air before replacing his hat and crossing his arms.

"If we are going to continue, fine. If not, lets find Kermit. I hate this place."

Derrik stoically allows the pent-up, dismayed professor vent without much of even a move.. sneer, or sound of protest. He waits patiently until the little man is done.. not even reacting to the clear sign of disrespect spitting between them meant. When he asks if the would leave he begins.

" I for one am continuing on.. the mission was to scout and retrieve the mentioned stores from this area, if we were to leave now it would be with little information on the area and a dead comrade with no wares. Professor I shall take your slight as a criticism, but as a person who was educated such; Even you should know the strength of your statements barely hold. Hindsight is just that, something you think of AFTER the fact has become apparent. We could have had great tactics and any small deviation would shatter them, tactics are only as good as you can adapt. The ghouls that attacked our team from before could have only been a small group, if we retreated to a building they COULD have been infested with more. There are multiple what-ifs Professor but the fact remains we did not do them."

The metal sentinel walking within 5 feet of Radsworth

[b]" Battle is chaos and order vying for control, but history and nature alone has shown everyone...a breaking of morale can make all the difference when it comes to a war. Fear is a powerful tool but it also creates things that we humans used to strive. Fear is the same origin of Patience.. Bravery.. Cowardice.. and Most Importantly.. The Will to live. Do you think that my 'suicidal tendency' was out of place when I stalked that Chuul for half a month learning its weaknesses and strengths to eventually save the pontoon from being dragged to the bottom of the sea with you on it? Was it out of place for both Larka and Prue to do so to prevent yourself from being crushed by said creature? Radsworth.. This world will change.. it of-course cannot be the same world.. otherwise people like you, Me and the others would be shunned and unable to live on it.. no it will change.. But nothing good will come of that change if we don't do anything if we have to power to."

Derrik turn his back upon the group and starts heading towards the Circle 50 ft

" I don't hold anyone else to the code I myself have, but I do hope.. that you do not teach those young ones what you are spouting about survival... Determination and persistence are the two things that have made the human race achieve great things. both good and bad... And in this world.. RIGHT NOW.. the is good.. and there IS evil.. and we have seen it. If you are going to teach them to give up.. then why take them away from a world of cannibalism..? Wouldnt it just be easier to survive that way.. under the foot of some monster..? So they are never targeted by the Higher demons upon the ladder? "

At first Rad is stiff and resistant. After a short time though, his composure cracks, and he accepts Kate's embrace.

He winks, then whispers through a smile.

"Thank you Kate. There is something comforting about a woman, regardless of whether the relationship is romantic or strictly platonic. I guess that comes from some deep yearning for a mother, regardless of age. Or maybe people just want people to care about them? I'm sorry I almost lost my nerve earlier...this is all very different for me. I cannot promise you it will not ever happen again, but if it does, I will not leave you behind or in danger."

As he pulls away from Kate, he locks his gaze on the metal-clad man. Intellectually, Rad is forced to acknowledge a couple of his points. One however, is glaringly wrong.

"Removing the children from an environment permeated by evil is my own way of seeing if even a tiny pocket of humanity can recover from what it's experienced. I am not teaching them servitude or indifference. But there is no point in reckless behavior when every last noble life is vastly more precious than it ever has been! There is an astute double standard being applied. The cannibals may thrive without the children, but will they relapse? The children may or may not thrive without the cannibals. If the cannibals relapse and the children do not, then maybe we CAN re-teach morality in a secure space. If the children AND the community relapse.. well.. then were all probably doomed."

He does not push the issue, but allows the Paladin his sermon.

"If our capacity for good wasn't matched by our capacity for stupid, evil would never stand a chance."

He gathers his equipment and prepares to depart.

Northward the weary and wary band travels, watching doorways, windows, and balconies for any sign of predatory monsters....

They pass the Holiday Inn on their right as Ben Franklin Dr bends to the right, directing them across a bridge spanning a 20-ft-wide canal....

On the other side of the bridge lies St Armand's Circle.

Abandoned cars line the street and around the roundabout that is the Circle proper, their windows smashed in and some covered with disturbing graffiti.

The only sounds as they approach are the soft roaring of the tide and cries of seagulls in the distance to the west, and the echoes of their own footfalls....

The team comes across many abandoned cars parked along the Boulevard of the Presidents, as one of the cross streets bisecting the Circle is called....

They appear to have been vandalized and looted already, and the sun-bleached bones of human beings lie strewn in the street here and there, amid bloodstained shreds of clothing, discarded purses or backpacks, an abandoned baby stroller, and a newspaper blown against a palm tree by the gulf breeze.

Derrik, my name is Krar I have lived on this island alone as you did and I agree with you. I knew Kinyama for less than an hour but I could tell he was a brave warrior. I believe that the vile spawn that did this must be dealt with but if we hunt the down now we will be ambushed and killed. we should go back to this box that you speak of and regroup. We can come back again and destroy these creatures.
