Vaniel also orders an ale while Oropher tells what they had learned while at the tavern. Vaniel responds "My venture was fruitful too" Vaniel then relays the story he had learned in the temple

"So...wait. Legions of dead? How is that good?

"Quite so. Doesn't sound that good to me. What if Dead Daddy Dearest isn't too welcoming? Or worse, what if he thinks -- Oh marvellous, my beaming boy's sent me some lovely new recruits to stalk the halls against the orcish threat; I just need to curse them with eternal living death first..."

Just for your info this tav has several rooms ready for a fair price if you are looking to lodge for the night or if you'd like to search the "town" there are many merchants peddling goods there is the other tav etc. please tell what you do sleep go to town etc.

Male Elf Fighter - Level 1

Its not good, but at least it gives us something to go on. I dont know about you all, you're more than welcome to spend the rest of the day and night here, but I'm gonna look around.

With all the information gathered and disseminated, it seemed like time to gather some goods to help with the mission. I walked out of the tavern, and walked around to various shops or merchants.

What are my options?

HP 15/29 | DEFENSE 18; Defense 16 until I drop an opponent; FF 13; Tch 17; DR 1/armor; Perception +8; Init +5; FRW 2/9/3

Blythe tags along with Oro.

There are countless merchants about town who sell any maner of things what specifically are you looking for.

"I'd like to pick up some alchemy."

Male Elf Fighter - Level 1

Sounds good. I'm kind of interested in weapons, arrows and such. First the alchemist, then any armorer?

After the shopping, Melismar shall want a bath house.

"I accept that." She walks in relative silence with Oro and Mel through the mostly dead city. "It's beautiful here."

"A certain grim charm, true," agrees Mel. "It is possible to see hints of its former glory. It would be an honour to be part of the generation that reclaims this city as its true inheritance."

Male Human Summoner 1

Sylavel will tag along as well if it's not too late RP wise, otherwise he'll do some shopping on his own.

Lessee, going to need to pick up some holy water, a couple strands of garlic, some wooden stakes, a silver dagger, a few pieces of chalk, hmm, what am I missing?

Bugger. Sorry, can't keep track of all my alter egos. Oops.

Vaniel shrugs at the last comment " Be it as it may, I have already given my word that I shall do what can be done to put these souls to rest. From the story I believe this Lux to be loyal to Phlaan and a loyal soldier just desprate to turn back a mass attack on his home. But for now I will secure a pair of rooms"

As Vaniel heads off to find the tavern keep to purchase rooms for the night he just makes out Blythe's request to search for an alchemist, he turns back for a moment and reaches into his pouch and hands her 50 gold " See if you can find me a potion of healing please" with that Vaniel then turns back around and continues his task at hand

how much are the rooms?

HP 15/29 | DEFENSE 18; Defense 16 until I drop an opponent; FF 13; Tch 17; DR 1/armor; Perception +8; Init +5; FRW 2/9/3

Blythe purchases a potion of healing for Vaniel, and an alchemist's fire for herself.
Cost?
After that she heads back to where he has rented a room.

Male Gnome Cavalier 1

I've lost all insperation for my gnome :(

Blythe total cost is 70gp
rooms are cheap 3gp a night.

Male Elf Fighter - Level 1

Oro purchases 5 silver arrows if possible, then a room for the night. Ready to move on. :) And to the short, drunk fellow, we're almost done I think. Never fear, the monsters will be here.

I take it everyone is done shopping and such and you purchase your rooms. They are not particularly comfortably bed but you get what you paid for. You wake early morn and meet in the goblin to prepare for your trip you will need a boat.

Do you mean sensation? ;-)

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

We're meeting in the goblin?

The morning came, and I had not slept so well. The prospect of combat, real combat, had me not a little nervous. I walked downstairs, early as usual, and waited as my comrades came to join.

Any luck w/ them arrows?

Yes Oropher you got the arrows they cost 2gp each.

HP 15/29 | DEFENSE 18; Defense 16 until I drop an opponent; FF 13; Tch 17; DR 1/armor; Perception +8; Init +5; FRW 2/9/3

Blythe sleeps in until someone fetches her.

Male Half- Elf Paladin 1

After lying awake in bed for what seemed like hour on end Vaniel finally drifted off into a lght unrestful sleep. In the morning after stretching and honoring Torm Vaniel heads down to the main room of the tavern and orders himself a bit of breakfast and waits to regroup with his companions

Male Half-Elven Bard 1

"Who votes for swimming to this island keep?" ask Mel, brightly.

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"I'd give it shot. Might want a boat nearby in case we can't make it though."

Male Elf Fighter - Level 1

Errr, perhaps a boat might be in order. Hopefully it'll be a short ride. Who's ready?

Krokolam, you still in?

"Ah, an excellent idea," booms Melismar. "A boat! Why didn't I think of that. After days at sea, just what we all need. Hah!" But his eyes twinkle as he says it, and you know it's all part of his dramatic patter. "Let's head back down to the docks and see if we can persuade some woolley-brained seaman to ferry us across to this death-trap keep. Did anyone see it as we came in? Do you think they left the front door open?"

Male Half- Elf Paladin 1

"Someone should run and grab Blythe. Doubt very much she would want to miss out on another fun filled boat ride. To the docks then? I will snag our sleeping beauty while you guys secure a boat" Vaniel chuckles slightly then offers a slight bow before departing for the sleeping woman.

Once to her room Vaniel knocks on the door and if no response will call out to her and let her know that all are up and what the plan is. He will then wait just outside the door until he gets a response and then he will let her know that he will wait by the bar. If no answer he will then peek his head just inside the room and call out again

Male Gnome Cavalier 1

I've lost all inspiration for my gnome :(

Blythe lies on her stomach, half covered by a blanket, snoring softly. Her legs are uncovered. One drapes over the end table, her toes against the cold window. Her clothes lay strewn about the room.

Male Elf Fighter - Level 1

Great. Waiting on some drunk woman to get started. I groaned at the comment, somewhat audibly.

Alright, sounds good. Whoever wants to, can come with me.

I turned, and headed out towards the docks, to see what I could do about chartering some sort of boat.

The harbor is empty and has been since your ship unloaded yesterday. There appear to be no ships in at the moment but seeing as the Keeps is nearby all that is required is a few row boats. There is a small building were the dock master spends his time he is not busy whatsoever lately and is the one you would want to consult about to get your boats.

Male Human Summoner 1

Sylavel follows Oropher to the docks.

Male Elf Fighter - Level 1

Great. We get to row ourselves over to the docks. I've been in a bit of a mood all day, and this doesn't help.

I saw as Sylavel caught up to me. Well, thats a start.

Looks like we've got to grab a rowboat, seeing as how no ships can come in.

I walked towards the little hut housing the dock master, hoping to introduce myself and get something for our merry band.

You walk up to the hut the man sits in a wooden chair his face dug into his book he seems not to notice you approach.

Male Human Summoner 1

Sylavel lets out a small cough to get the dock master's attnetion."Pleasant morning, Dockmaster sir. My friend and I were interested in renting out a couple rowboats for the day." If one would be big enough, I only try for one.

Diplomacy:
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Male Half-Elven Bard 1

"A daytrip, then?" laughs Mel. "How odd they shall think us. Perhaps it might be wise to arrange to have the boat for a longer period, just in case, you know, something happens. I don't want to have to spend the day worrying about both ghosts and a hefty late penalty."

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"Don't worry about it! With me as a rower you've got little to fear of timed fees!" Dric boasts.

Male Elf Fighter - Level 1

Hah. Well then, you get to row. Challenge accepted.

You had to hand it to the little fellow, he did look quite strong, even for someone about a third of my height.

Err, dont worry about the late fees. Perhaps we can pass those on to that councilman, Por... something.

Male Half-Elven Bard 1

"Fair enough," agrees Mel. "I'm glad I don't have to row. I might get blisters."

Blythe rolls over, languishing in the morning son on her belly. She stretches luxuriously, shrugging the blanket off her. Standing, she looks for clothes to cover herself. Out of the corner of her eye, she sees someone move past her door, which stands slightly ajar.

She strides over and yanks it open. A young house maid, perhaps twelve, startles, almost dropping the bucket of water she is carrying. She blushes at Blythe's brazen nakedness.

"Did you come in my room while I slept?"

The girl shakes her head. "No, ma'am."

"By the gods, don't call me ma'am."

"No, ma'a - of course not, milady."

Blythe rolls her eyes. "Who came in here?"

The girl, puts her bucket down, slopping water onto the floor.

"Out with it, girl."

"The, um...the elf, ma' - milady."

Blythe's eyebrows climb up her forehead. "Didn't think the old salt had it in him." She smiles, and scratches herself. "What's a girl gotta do to get a plate of sausages around here?"

The girl blushes even fiercer. "Ma' - milady -"

"Plagues, it's Blythe, girl, not ma'am, not malady."

"Milady."

"That's what I said."

"Your company left an hour ago, for the docks, I believe."

Blythe sighs deeply. "Damned early risers." She gathers her belongings quickly. "Think they'll have all that fun without me, huh?"

Blythe walks up to the group standing on the docks, discussing. She doesn't announce her arrival. She is eating an apple.

The dock master looks up at you and looks very surprised he lets out a few words quietly to you. "Hello there what can this old man do for you today." Apparently he wasn't listening to you.

Male Human Summoner 1

This is what focusing chants are really for. "Good day sir. Me and my companions are interested in renting a boat. Would you be able to assist us in this?"

"Well as you can see we have no ships in at the moment but.." He then stops finally realizing what the man said. "Well if your looking to row into the city there ain't no way yer a gonna make it they say the river is made of pure acid melt yer boat it will." He says to you before getting back to business. "I have a few row boats if that's what your looking for not sure what use they will be to ya but am willing to let you rent em out as long as you bring em back in top condition you hear."

Male Half-Elven Bard 1

[b]"Is it extra for an acid-resistant boat? I think I should prefer, on the whole, not to make an intimate acquaintance with the effluent from this, um, city. Charming people though you doubtless all are. But we're actually heading over to the old keep, you know, for a spot of sightseeing and a picnic. Except someone's started eating the apples already, I see..."[\b]
