"That is all very interesting indeed. Grishan, any more things you need us to fetch? Or is it time to go delve into the fallen depths?"
GM.Boldr |
You all know that only portions of this list are "known" within the Pathfinder Society. Most is new information as far as you're concerned.
[spoiler=Lucious Only]This information is "new" enough that it's easily worth several thousand gold on the open market, although it could be damaging to certain elements within the Pathfinders.[/ooc]
"Lucious" Lucius Vizinni |
oops on the spoiler.
"I think this information is still quite valuable to many, especially in the PAthfinder Society. I'd even water that some of it would be valuable to a certain faction leader that I have done business with once and a while. Tales of Andoran nobles hiding? Why I think that is quite interesting.
"However, my loyalty lies with the Society, and not him. He was just another customer. I believe that we could turn these in to the Society for great reward... Or perhaps to the highest bidder. I think that if Grisham doesn't mind, we should do exactly that.
"Now,Grisham, were you the person who wrote these, or did you just steal them? Seems to be a lot here for a young child to have collected!"
GM.Boldr |
Oh well, was on a tablet.
Grishan appears, "My brother asked me to spy on my schoolmates, which I did. The words are mine.
"Lucious" Lucius Vizinni |
"Very good, Grisham. You wrote very well, and did very good! What did you want the notes for, today? Are they for us, because they were important? Or for some other use?"
Lucius is trying be very careful with the spirit, so as not to cause him concern.
Diplo (to improve attitude): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
GM.Boldr |
Listening to Lucious, Grishan looks at the papers and then at his non-existent feet, "I...I don't know. Those words are mine. I remember doing it. That is my handwriting. I just don't remember any of that. The truth about my family, my brother knew. It's just too much. I need to talk to him."
J. glances at the papers as well and shrugs, "Whatever...let's just move on to the schoolyard."
Grishan nods, "We can go to the Drownyard now, but I'd like to talk to my brother if we can after."

"If everyone is satisfied, I suggest we move on to the school."
"Grishan, your brother still lives?"
Kirin Quetzal |

"On to the Tri-Towers yard, then." Kirin agrees.
"What is it that you are hoping to find there, J.? What are we looking for?" Kirin asks, politely. Just curious for if we are looking for anything specific. What we should be keeping an eye out for.
Little Lya |
sense motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Lya glances at J, but does not engage in conversation regarding this revelation.
"yes. On to our objective. "
GM.Boldr |
J. nods and gives a weak smile, "Let's get moving then. You'll have to ask Grishan about what he expects to find there. I've been listening to his advice for years, and this is as much me helping him find closure than for me. I don't know what I should expect, just that I'm supposed to go there."
While you travel towards the school in the dreary rain-soaked afternoon, Grishan continues his conversation. "I do not know if my brother Colson still lives. It's only been a few decades, so I would assume so. These notes were all for him, it was my way of supporting him. I had forgotten though what I found. It's been so long, and my memory isn't what it used to be." He takes a deep breath, "As for what J. will find there, I don't know, but I know that the yard calls out to her, on the Astral plane. There is something there she must experience on her own. I'm sure you Pathfinders can find it."
GM.Boldr |
As you leave plant creature calls out, "Thank you for honoring our agreement. Please keep my presence as quiet as you can. I simply need time for my companions to sprout and grow. Once they have, perhaps we can petition the government of this place to free us from our captivity in Nex. I am sorry for doubting you."
She has nothing more to say and shoos you out.
Echo Miyamoto |
"Grishan, is your last name 'Maldris' by chance?"
GM.Boldr |
Grishan looks surprised, "Yes it is, you've heard of me? My brother still lives?

"It sounds like you both left a lot of memories back at that school. This will be a very enlightening expedition, though I am not so sure you will are going to be entirely happy with reliving some of those memories." she mentions matter-of-factly, not entirely paying attention to any response.
"On to the Drownyard! Uh... school", she smiles meakly.
Echo Miyamoto |
Grishan says Colson in the above post.
"Lucious" Lucius Vizinni |
"Why, yes, we know of him. He has made quite the name for himself. I don't always agree with what he does, but he does seem to be a fervent champion of freedom and Andoran revolution." Lucius says. "Perhaps why this is all over we can see if you can meet him."
GM.Boldr |
The Drownyard is located only a short walk from the Arboretum Arcanis, surrounded by a tall, wrought iron fence. Zavra deftly inserts the key and opens a large front gate.
The grounds of the old Tri-Towers Yard have been cleaned up in the last several years, and several old ruined school buildings that stood too close to the cliff's edge were demolished. All of the gnarled old trees were removed and new flowering bushes and trees have been planted in their place. Despite these efforts, the few ruined classrooms that remain look sad and forgotten. Just inside the gate sits a small, locked storage shed marked with the Pathfinder's Glyph of the Open Road.
J. falls silent as she steps on the grounds of the old school, "If we could please. I need a moment of silence to remember my classmates and teachers." After a moment, she nods as if she has made a decision, "I sense something in the classroom there. It has something I need to learn." She then looks expectantly at the Pathfinders.
Little Lya |
During J's moment of silence, Lya will use her detect evil to scan the courtyard.
"we should follow the captain's advice and check the shed for supplies. The structure is haunted he said right?"
Zavra Tuskless |
Zavra looks around the abandoned ruins in excitement. She drops the heavy bag that she has been struggling with to the ground, rummages around a bit, then drinks a vial of thick blue liquid.

The girl closes up her pack and easily slings it onto her back, no longer encumbered.
"I suppose now is the time to be prepared for just about anything," she smiles to J, then looks to the other Pathfinders to lead the way.
Echo Miyamoto |
Echo advances to the shed, on the look out for unsafe areas. She looks for traps or other structural deficiencies once she gets to the shed.
is there a map for this portion, or are we winging it?
GM.Boldr |
No map! Yet... The yard consists of a single existing school building which appears extremely old but structurally sound, the storage shed, and another locked entrance heading underground within what looks like a drained pond.
A large sign on the shed reads, "Entry to above ground structure in the 'Yard is strongly discouraged. It contains a dangerous supernatural force. Items in the yellow box are for emergencies only." It has been signed by 'V-C Dreng'.
The shed was once locked, but it appears the lock was damaged at some point and no longer functions. Upon opening it you find various archaeological supplies including twine, stakes, brushes, sacks,s hovels, trowels, and measuring implements.
Echo opens the yellow box and finds it nearly empty, clearly victim to whomever burgled this shed. All that remains are two glass vials held within stylized cold iron casings etched with strange ruins. There is also a note that describes them as haunt siphons and outlines their proper use (which anyone here can go look up if you forgot).
Zavra Tuskless |
"Looks like they left some of the most important stuff. Zavra observes as she looks around the shed. She grabs one of the shovels and tucks a haunt siphon into a convenient pouch, "Just in case." she comments.
"So where are we going? That hole in the ground?"
Wendice Laurinaitis |
"Well lo-oks like the shed has tools if we need any la-ater. So Ja-ay, which classroom is it?"
Wendice will start moving wherever J directs.
GM.Boldr |
After Wendice asks, J. points at the schoolhouse. "It's in that building. It's only one room, so maybe in there? Please, if you could lead the way."
Little Lya |
Lya will grab the second haunt siphon and follow Wendice into the building.
Echo Miyamoto |
Echo brings up the rear of the column, watching as much as she can. Echo draws her katana, not wanting to be caught with out it in hand.
GM.Boldr |
You all enter J.'s former classroom, a small room is all that remains of a once great school. School benches and chairs are scattered about in a haphazard fashion and a chalkboard hangs crooked from a single nail on the western wall. The sound of the ocean beating against the cliffs in the distance is the only thing that breaks the silence.

Wendice starts moving up to the door of the school house that J pointed to when she gets interrupted.
"O-oh my! Earthquake!"
Wendice will ready a blast at any hostile creature that may appear.
GM.Boldr |
Andy, check out the post above yours (ninja'd!) - and make yourself not leaf-face. :-P
Echo Miyamoto |
"Earthquake? What earthquake? What are you talking about?"
"Lucious" Lucius Vizinni |
Lucius reacts quickly to what he has heard... "Lya! Zavra! Get those siphons out... Something is happening!"
He then prepares for the worst, and pulls out his wand of cure light wounds.
Little Lya |
Lya readies an action to use her siphon when a haunt appears.
GM.Boldr |
Lya pulls out the vial and holds it in her hand ready. The sound of a rumbling grows louder and the ground begins to shake the sky grows black. Lya opens the vial and you see ectoplasmic mist from the room fill the vial, yet the effect continues. Dozens of spectral school children run frantically for the door, but just before they escape there is a mighty cracking sound as the ceiling collapses.
EARTHQUAKE HAUNT!: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10 damage to all in the room
Zavra falls unconscious as a large wooden beam clocks her in the head. Lucious is crushed under the blackboard as it falls from the wall, clearly woozy from the wound. J. collapses to her knees as she shelters herself from falling debris. You can clearly hear her whisper, "Not again..." as she weathers the collapse.

The ceiling beams do not pin you under the rubble, but instead block off the room's exit. As you attempt to pull the first piece of debris loose, more falls where the rubble has been removed. You are trapped.
Little Lya |
"J! Are you alright?"
Pulls wand with her shaking hand, and tap J. clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Yes, you can move around the room. The rumbling continues as the exits are blocked.
J. puts her hand out towards Lya, "I'm...I'm okay. I can do this. It's okay...I'm okay. I've survived this before, I can survive it now.
J.'s at 10 HP with the heal

Echo Miyamoto |
if you can get to me before the third round, yes. if not then I will need curing from someone else
GM.Boldr |
You tend to your wounds in the growing confusion. You all hear screaming from beyond the walls of the schoolhouse. The ghostly children frantically dig through the rubble as several hug their classmates that have been crushed by debris from the ceiling. Crackling sounds begin to fill the air and the smell of smoke assails your nose.
The rumbling from beneath your feet intensifies and the crashing of buildings from the outside is overwhelmed by a mighty rending sound from beyond your walls. You hear an enormous splash, as if a part of the cliff face was torn from its moorings and dumped into the sea. The screaming stops abruptly, and the movement stops.
In all, you think the experience lasts three minutes. The ruble disappears into a whiff of ectoplasm, and you are again left in an empty classroom, a memorial to all the students that died during the earthquake. J. trembles for a moment and starts towards the door, "There's something left, some kind of restless force calling for me, from below." Her voice trails off into a distant echo, as if she is listening for a barely audible whisper.
Go ahead and heal up and get people standing, between the time you have in the haunt and after, you can heal whatever you need.
Wendice Laurinaitis |
Wendice stands up, shaking rubble from her pretty dress.
"Well tha-at was rude!"
She pulls out her wand.
"Lya Swe-ety, if you would please use my wand for me?"
Echo Miyamoto |
"Can some one please heal me? I have... somehow... caused my wand to malfunction."
Echo looks at Lucius and snorts after saying 'malfunction'.

Lucius looks around the room, and tries to determine whether it is safe to stay here.
