Upon seeing the door that Kat pointed out to him, he gives her a quick nod of acknowledgement.
He will slowly start to move towards the trapdoor while reaching for his bag of caltrops.
Upon seeing Caoilte's advance he will quicken his pace, if needed, to be in reach of the door about the same time Caolite confronts Endeiros.

Enderios looks to Tarek and takes in his words, then steps back in a defensive posture when he hears Caoilte's threat. He speaks to Tarek I am holding this prisoner by rights! She has escaped, unlawfully, from the Red Revolution of my homeland. My employer, who has chosen to not at directly due to threats of his person, has tasked me to return this noble to face the justice she most certainly deserves. Enderios takes a step up ready to raise his blade to Caoilte. Caoilte, certainly ready and willing to make good on his threat, squares up.
Before the two can engage in, Thalia leaps up and stands, quite defiantly, between the approaching Caoilte and Enderios. Stop! This is a terrible misunderstanding! I know why you have come, please, tell Almant who I really am so we can end this charade. Maybe one of you can persuade him. He certainly will not listen to me. She gives him an almost friendly annoyed glance.
During the parlay, Isador acts on Kat's tip and takes a step to the area under the stairs. He quickly identifies what most certainly is a cellar door.

Tarek looks to Almant and then back to Thalia with a confused look upon his face. Are you not Thalia Andares, daughter of the Mayor of Sauerton? We have come to return you home. Tarek then looks to Almant and speaks in a very serious tone What gives you rights to take this woman from her homeland and her family? Your actions could lead to war. Someone has manipulated the situation and I am certain your employer has lied about the information that was given to you. Who do you think you have captured?
GM: Does Tarek know anything about the Red Revolution?

![]() |

Eloriand will take a look back out where the others were let free every now and again just in case they decided to return and ambush us again.

GM Brew |

As for the rope, it seems almost perfunctory at this point and, given Thalia's actions, severing the rope would like serve no purpose.
Diplomacy roll please.
Eloriand checks on the former prisoners who are now no where to be seen. They clearly have taken advantage of the party's mercy and are likely half way to Galt by now.

Enderios. you and the Lady better really start explaing what in the name of the dead god is going on here! I don't give a fiend, flying, fiery pound of cac what you were told not to tell us, but if we don't get truthful answers soon, you can bet people are gonna die, and so far we have manged to avoid killing anyone today, but the day ain't over yet!
I don't take any aditional agressive moods, but at the same time I do not let my gurard down. I tighten the my grip around the hexagonal finger grooves of the long narrow rhomboidal blade in my hand.
I look over at our hostage and then back to Enderios studying them...actively listening, but also watching their body language to see if thier faces or bodies betray what they might be verbalizing.

The Galtan patriot looks toward Tarek, but his eyes continually dart between Caoilte and Havelockk. The man squares himself towards Caoilte I know not your concern in all of this, but your words do not sway me. This noble, even as enlightened as she is, cannot be denied the justice of the people, no matter my personal thought on the matter. He looks pointedly to Caoilte Time to see if this man's axe is as offensive as his bark. The battle begins anew!

Thalia, sensing trouble, dives for cover as Enderios attacks Caoilte. Caoilte, being ready for the attack, turns the attacks aside. The Galtan utters a few strange words and his off hand glows blue for a moment but Caoilte is able to give the kidnapper a nudge which disrupts whatever arcane trickery the man was about to unleash.
The captive man retreats to the corner, clearly honoring his word and allowing the fight to unfold without interference.
Party up!

Kat will take a better vantage point and try to flank.
This is presuming the stairs are open to the floor, if they are not then she will find the best tactical advantage she can get without interfering with the melee-ers (however you want to spell that but I'm probably making up words again).

The party reacts to the Galtan aggression.
Eloriand takes a shot but misses the deft Galtan.
Kat hops the landing and fires off an arrow which strikes the kidnapper in the arm, glancing off but taking a good chunk of skin with it. No flank just yet but will be once Tarek steps up to engage in melee.
Caoilte swings his axe but cannot find enough room to find purchase, his atack misses as the party closes ranks.
Havelock launches a magical orb of force at the Galtan which slams into Enderios' side causing him to cry out in pain. Caoilte steps up to engage in melee. Having observed Enderios' attempt to cast a spell, Havelock believes the spell to be some sort of negative energy chilling spell, most likely Chill Touch. In order to use spell combat, you must take a full round action so could not move as part of the sequence. I figured you would cast the spell then advance seeing as how the sword attack would have missed anyway. Also, Spellcraft is the skill used to try to discern what a caster is casting. Your bonus is the same as arcane knowledge so I just used the roll as a Spellcraft check.
Isador tries to fire upon Enderios but his arrow misses the mark. By the way, you do have a flank with Caoilte at this point, just fyi.
Sylorin once again calls upon the favor of Shelyn, who grants him the power to strike at their attacker. He unleashes an arc of magical lightning at the nimble Galtan, but his aim is off and the arc hits the far wall, causing the already damaged structure wall to smoke and crumble.
Tarek is able to step up and swing his unwieldy falcata at the tough Galtan patriot, but Enderios deftly turns the clumsy attack aside.
Almant takes stock of his many foes and forms a plan of action. Recognizing Havelock's magical ability, he wheels on the magus with a mighty swing of his bastard sword, all the while deftly attempting to cast another spell. His attack misses, but he manages to unleash the magical energies of his incantation. The floor beneath Caoilte, Sylorin and Tarek is suddenly coated with a greasy slick substance making movement in their area very difficult. Tarek, Caoilte and Sylorin must make a reflex save v DC 13. Anyone moving through the 10 by 10 area designated on map must succeed at a acrobatics check v dc 10 or be unable to move.
Party up.

The Archons continue the fight.
Sylorin and Caoilte lose their footing in the conjured grease and slip, falling to the ground. The fallen folks can attempt a DC 10 acrobatics check to get back to their feet.
Eloriand fires another arrow, but the deft man from Galt is able to dodge the missile. It lodges in the back wall.
Kat strikes with another arrow, this one lodging in the kidnapper's thigh, causing the man to yelp in pain.
Havelock tries to strike down the troublesome Enerios with a mighty two handed swing but the clearly talented swordsman turns away the strike easily.
Isador's shot also misses by a hair as the Galtan dances and parries the party.
Tarek takes stock of the situation and prepares to act...
Tarek up, then next round. Also, I made a mistake regarding ranged sneak attack while flanking. Please refer to explanation in discussion thread.

Tarek made his reflex save and then rolled for an attack. I do not know if he gets any flanking bonuses, but I am sure he still missed. My question was answered about casting spells and he will not try to cast anything for his next round action. I am assuming that the floor is still covered and taking a 5 foot step will require a check that he will most surely fail at. He needs a 17

GM Brew |

Oops, missed that. Will resolve now. The grease is coating all squares enclosed in the box on the map, including Tarek's occupied square. REF save kept him on his feet, moving will require an acrobatics check at DC 10 and movement is halved through effected squares.
Tarek manages to stay on his feet despite the slick magical substance coating the ground. He swings again but the deft Galtan avoids yet another swing.
Enderios tries to even up the odds, swinging his blade at Havelock, slicing the opposed magus across the shoulder, piercing Havelock's armor causing a nasty gash. Havelock takes 10 damage.

The Galtan continues to vex the party!
Eloriand takes another shot at Enderios, but the trained fighter dodges yet another shot!
Kat sends another shaft across the arm of the hard fighting patriot, drawing blood but the spellsword keeps fighting.
Caoilte manages, barely, to get to his feet but his footing is terribly unsure in the magical grease. He tries to get an axe on the dancing swordsman but is unable to get enough balance to land a blow.
Havelock tries to show the Galtan that he is not the only one with martial and spell skill. WHile guarding his stance, the magus summons a magical charge into his blade, causing it to shimmer with electrical eldritch power. He sings the charged blade at Enderios, but he parries each attack deftly. The dueling magi part their blades and Enderios, bloodied and harried, looks to Havelock with the hint of a grin. 'lock, I have your concentration bonus at +6 just FYI.
Maintaing the grin for a moment more, the Galtan deftly ducks his head to the side precisely as Isador's arrow splits the space where his head just occupied. The rogue dodges yet another Archon arrow.
Sylorin tries to regain his footing, but his hand slips on the slick grease causing him to fall prone once again. Sylorin must again attempt an Acrobatics check v DC 10 to stand.
Tarek attempts to lock down Enderios, but his unfamiliarity with his chosen weapon combined with his unstable footing causes the blade to miss badly, overshooting the Galtan and swinging around to accidentally slice through the air just as Sylorin slips, allowing Sylorin to avoid a nasty accidental slash with the falcata.
Enderios, defying the stacked odds against him, continues the fight. He protects himself and calls upon his demonstrated arcane power but the battle is too much and the energy fizzles off of his fingers. The Galtan frowns and repositions himself, stepping to his left and swinging his blade at Havelock, but the opposed magus parries the strike.
Enderios took a 5 foot step as depicted on the map. This does not provoke an attack of opportunity. This is one epic battle! Isador and Kat, please note that due to the repositioning, if either of you attack with bow from that spot, you will be exposed to an AOO. Also note my post on the discussion thread explaining there is no such thing as a ranged flank. Also remember that if Tarek, Caoilte or Sylorin attempt to move out of greased area, movement is halved and you have to succeed at an acrobatics check v DC 10. Party up, party on.
