Unless anyone else claimed it, Fendahl will grab the long spear and get into a second line to step and attack one of the new daemons. He will have Kirrah withdraw into the room since she cannot break DR with her claws.

@dm: 23 with full plate/dex/ring gives 23 Scroll of barskin makes it 25 (still running). Protection from evil from Kynrac adds another +1 vs evil (doesn't fully stack with ring). Puts it to 26. Shield cast from Vibrant Purple Prism Ioun Stone brings it to 30.

Arguably the shield has gone down (I cast it just before I opened the door, and it's likely been over a minute, which would put my AC at 26. Which means it would hit on the nose. So lets say I take the damage.

Jarlgur's aim is off, but Fendahl's is not! He guages *exactly* the right amount of force and energy needed to drive the point of his spear into the howling beast's hide. Then Nahlah channels her hatred of Lamashtu's children into her blows, utterly destroying the creature!

I will try to summarize as best I can - WAY too much block text for a single post, but if we need it, I can add it in. I will assume that Kynrac returns to question the healed woman and that Darius uses the wand to explore the upstairs by magic.

Darius' blade swiftly finishes the daemon!

He then scans the upper floor with the aid of the wand's power. He sees a complex with many rooms and and passages. I the northeast corner there is a large room with a number cells. There are 27 prisoners here. The are two watchtowers, one to the northwest, and to the southeast. Both are guarded. Darius sees purple candles in a large meeting hall and in the room with the cells. Both are currently lit. There are 12 guards scattered around the upper level.

Kynrac goes over to the woman, now free from her bonds and healed.

She says: "Friend, I sense that you are more than you seem to be. I'll cut to the chase: I am Jahani, a prisoner here against my will. Three others of my order are held here, along with the others to be sold as slaves. We were blindfolded and split up, each injured to prevent our casting spells. I do not no my friends' exact whereabouts, but please, help me find and free them!"

Kale examines the candle closely.

On spells in vibrant purple prism ioun stones:

The stone I use to cast shield operates as per the ring of spell storing (1st level spells only). Rings of spell storing always store a spell at the lowest caster level. So a scroll is as good as shield spell from a caster, in this case. Thanks for the offer darius; i'll probably stick to scrolls to save your resources.

No problem darius - next time I'l be more clear. I rolled a check on Kale's behalf, then deleted it. I have a policy that if I roll for you without advance notice and the roll fails, I delete it and ask you to roll for yourself.

Jarlgur remembers something about this candle. It is known as a blackfire candle, and if lit, it will magically light any others like it within 200'. Dousing one will NOT put out the others, however. A handy signal, if someone sees it...

Ok, so I'm not EXACTLY sure how the guards respond in this case. None of them were specifically listed as being in a room with a blackfire candle. They specifically avoid the upstairs cellblock, which is where the second set of daemons dimension doored from. So I have to say that right now they still aren't on to you. The Quadirans among the group will want to make the effort to do as thorough a search upstairs as possible.

"Good..I'm glad you could secure Maroc's aid. I can run if need be. The others...probably locked in cells. Let me describe them to you."

She tells you about her allies. Using the wand, Darius is able to locate one ally in the row of cells here in the basement, and two others locked in cells upstairs.

Inside is a Chelish man with disheveled, dark brown hair. His tongue has been cut out like that of Jahani.

When she sees him her eyes go wide and she smiles:

"Mikael! You're alive! There is not much time. The others are being held upstairs. These people have come to our rescue! But I see that you cannot speak. Don't trouble yourself. we'll get you healed once we reach safety."

If she is unimpeded, Nahlah will continue into the main hall, searching for wards or alarms as she goes (although she lacks magical vision).

Casting prayer, everyone in the party gains a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, while each of our foes in the radius of the spell takes a –1 penalty on such rolls.

Fendahl will transform into semi lion shape(std), adding to his land speed for 4mins.

Then He and Kirrah will rush to the rooms with the rift wardens with Darius unless someone else calls him.

Darius will use a swift action to make his blade +4 keen.. He will then move to release the Riftwarden closest, ignoring the guards blathering..

I believe with both move actions i can get to his door and open it.. Unless it locked.. Just let me know..


Technic Siege/Full Map

Darius rushes over to the door, and opens it. Inside He sees a Garundi woman with close-cropped hair. Her hands are both broken. She is conscious, but bound and gagged.

The guards eye Nahlah for a moment, but quickly decide that discretion is the better part of valor. Intimidate did the trick! They toss down their crossbows and make for the exit.

Kynrac and Fendahl cast their spells. As the guards flee, there is shouting from outside in the courtyard.

We'll stay in loose initiative order for now to keep better track of time. Each of you may take another round's worth of actions.
