GUYS! A player just did a funny thing in my Emerald Spire game!
The monk/paladin picks it up and resists the sudden urge to place it on his own chest. It's the size of an ogre's fist and he's a Halfling, by the way.
Some magical inspection later and they figure out it gives +4 Con to whoever puts it to their chest. The paladin/monk does so immediately and everyone watches in horror as it burrows into his chest and expels the slurry that was his original heart.
The best part? The transmutation aura this thing(a minor artifact!) was giving off covered up the necromancy in it. He's replaced his heart with the phylactery of the very lich they're trying to find and kill!
I've got a great plan now, which involves them thinking the crown the lich wears is his phylactery so they destroy it and don't think about the heart and then use these rules (Additional Graveknight Armor Information) for what happens.

Oh, thats cool. I have a simpler idea for my lich. Of course, a couple of those players are here, so it'll have to stay a surprise.
Unrelated note: If I turn this thing back on and throw it at the Red Hood, does he get a save to keep his dumb cape from being sucked in it?
That's hilarious. A paladin with a Lich's phylactery in his chest. Wow. :)
And, probably not, but remember that it will suck up all the air from all of us... so you might want to turn it back off at some point. :)

I just completed my read-through of Book of the Damned. It is bar none the most sadistic book in my Pathfinder arsenal. Anyone else check it out?

Just came out in hardcover and it details all the Demon Lords, Archdevils, and Horsemen in a similar way to Inner Sea Gods. As hard for me to admit it, the sheer amount of pure evil in that book gets a little exhausting on a straight read-through, though it does give me a few ideas *evil laugh*

In case anyone has good taste, the giant robot fight between the U.S. and Japan is happening on twitch. Right here. I can say with confidence that I've been waiting for this for years!
We could try a diplomacy check to lower the price, and by we, I mean any of the characters with a good cha could make a check instead of the 7 charisma, untrained character who was meant to be a wallflower during NPC interactions *AHACKANYBODYBUTDEVICWOULDBEBETTERFORTALKINGHACK,HACK,COUGH*
Or we could all agree to try and deep 6 dis foo' for trying to kill one of us and then charging us. But I don't want to be the guy who tries to kill an NPC and ruin everything. I also suspect it won't work. Something about the NPC's we meet most of the time screams "Tavern owner who secretly used to be a high level adventurer." Er, maybe "port-a-potty" owner this time. So, just leaving and trying something else could work.
Ammon at this point isnt feeling particularly trusting.
this guy almost killed one of us, and now wants money from us, no show of faith on his side. He could be working/ is the kidnapper.

No joke though this entire situation is just irritating hell out of Ammon, subtly, subterfuge, secrecy arent really his favorite things, he's a demon man-child of action
waiting for tradition, politeness, negotiating with criminals just makes him angry.
That and Ammon has issues in his past with losing people, he would've been like that for anyone.
Also I'm willing to put cred on you having a crush on Devic.
And what do you vote in regards to how we handle this encounter?
Normally I'd say kill him, but we need info. Pay the man and maybe get back at him later.

Silver does. She can pay him after we rescue her. Then we tell her he almost killed Devic.
Devic can put in her share of 2000 if we need to, but would also rather not give this guy anything at all given his uhh, "quirks."
Although this is why I suggested someone try a diplomacy roll at the least, so we can get maybe a discount. Or see if we can ask Silver to foot the bill after we save her.
Edit: I didn't even see your post suggesting the same idea for payment.

Ramiel still has all his credits. He actually hasn't bought anything besides chimichangas this whole game.

This includes two 'do it yourself' books, The Genius Guide to the Taleneted Bestiary and In the Company of Dragons. If you ever need/want me to make something, Jaster, you just let me know! I love how some of the longest strategizing I've ever seen on the OOC board involves trying to get out of paying a ridiculous sum of money.
Well it isn't exactly as easy to deal with as "move to flank and let's slaughter it" is it? :)
So far it looks like votes are; Ramiel=yes, Devic=Maybe leaning yes, Nazuri=No. Looks like it's up to Ammon and Geralt to decide. No pressure.
Just to clear up any doubt, I'm okay with either or out-of-character.
As a player I am too, but my character isn't abetting or participating in evil, or signing some blank contract that might force her to.
Ammon both doesn't like nor trust this guy or situation. No favor, too much potential for badness.

Whether we wanna ask the head shinobi tortoise if he can help us find silver instead of jumping through Red Capes hoops or ask head shinobi to get his people to not eat the akanames. I assume the second is the default, but I had Devic propose the alternative because shes still salty.
Why don't we find out why they are eating the akanames first, and then decide which way we're going?
Or ask them if they can help us... we need information about whether that is even possible first, don't we?
