Miagnik |

Miagnik isn't actually fast enough to get there and attack in one round, but if you 5 foot adjust downward that will be perfect. Miagnik is double moving for -A,6.
Miagnik took Hallister's word for it and ran forward as the Dwarf pummeled his way into the skeleton before him.

Stephanie Stavros |

Stephanie, having heard the basic gist moves forward to just behind moralane and casts a spell of grease on the hallway.
Here's hoping I can be useful in this, even if fighting them was foolish.

Suddenly pressed in, Mae ducks the attentions of the dread bony assailant, and returns the favor.

He will feint (MA with his improved feint feat) bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
You can also use Bluff to feint in combat, causing your opponent to be denied his Dexterity bonus to his AC against your next attack. The DC of this check is equal to 10 + your opponent’s base attack bonus + your opponent’s Wisdom modifier. If your opponent is trained in Sense Motive, the DC is instead equal to 10 + your opponent’s Sense Motive bonus, if higher.
If successful the skeleton is without it's dex bonus and subject to sneak damage even if he did not have a dex bonus.

confirm crit: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 - 1 = 5;damage, underground: 1d6 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 + 1 = 5
If a rogue can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage.
The rogue's attack deals extra damage anytime her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when the rogue flanks her target. This extra damage is 1d6 at 1st level, and increases by 1d6 every two rogue levels thereafter. Should the rogue score a critical hit with a sneak attack, this extra damage is not multiplied. Ranged attacks can count as sneak attacks only if the target is within 30 feet.

Round 2
Miagnik felt the flames build up in his hands. He had wanted to catch as many of the skeletal foes as he could. He watched as the guard filled into the hallway before them blocking their path... then an idea struck him. Rather than unleashing the small burst of flames normally, he called forth more fire. In his mind he called forth one of the rolling, spongy, tangible balls of flame but instead of letting it form, he crushed it.
Lifting his hands into the air, he let the flames build until he could almost feel his hands burning from the insides.
"Okagaan Rhogec Mac." A moment later the flames jetted out of his hands, flying farther and faster than before. Immolating all before them.

Miagnik, you didn't specify which squares you were effecting. Are you just going for a diagonal cone? I'm pretty sure that would catch them all.

When the flames vanish, Mae steps into the passageway, frustrated that her target now lies crumbled on the floor in ashes, she charges passed the destroyed skeleton and attacks one that is still standing, and with this one also severely charred by the flames, her weapon snaps it in two and brings it down

Okay the only tiny glitch is that Mae goes before Stephanie, so she needs to make a DC 10 Acrobatics Check (to move at half speed into the area of the Grease Spell), or pass on the opportunity to attack the Red Skeleton, for now I have removed the red Skeleton, as I think she will pass the check!

Between the minimum 10 damage to each skeleton, along with Mae and Hal's attacks I'm fairly sure that these guys are dust. But here's Stephanie helping if one of them happens to be alive after all that. If they all happen to be dead then stephanie just shot a rather lievely looking nest of cinders by mistake. Blame it on her stunted racial vision.
Oh and lets not Leave Terquem alone, he has such amusingly incorrect complaints about himself after all. He seems to not be aware he is awesome or something. Though I still have rocks from space to drop on people, so I wouldn't leave regardless.
After the assault of Mae, Hallister and Ronwig combined with the flames of Miagnik the remaining skeletons seeming burn cinders of themselves. Like I'd thought they have it well in hand. But I can try to pick off that one, looks like it might still be able to move.

And the remaining three skeletons are blasted back, knocked to the floor, crumbling into ash, just as Maelodakh tightens her grip and swings with all her might.
Her weapon passes through the smoke and ash that now fill the air, and Maelodakh has to spin completely around to keep from hitting her friends as she tries to correct herself from the surprise.
Stephanie peeks around the corner, a hand raised ready to summon forth a bolt of magical acid, but all she sees is smoke.

Stephanie Stavros |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

With a frown Stephanie snaps her fingers and speaks more dwarven words, the smoke being pushed above the party and ash collected in a corner as the gnome indulges her preferences of cleanliness. He's very useful but I wish Miagnik spells could clean themselves up. Rather than making a big mess of everything.
With the smoke rising quickly and tiny dust devils of ash depositing themselves in the corner of the hallway Stephanie seems much more satisfied with the state of affairs.
" I hope none of you inhaled much of that, I don't know the nature of their revival but if the Necromantic magics that keep them active is connected to their corporeal bodies then it could cause problems inside your lungs. Burned skeleton and iron isn't something I'd want in on me in the best of circumstances though, mush less Evil burned skeleton and iron."
The gnome elaborates as she continues her efforts in cleaning, first the burned corpses and then moving onto her party members.
"Mae could you turn around, I think you have a bone cinder clinging to your ear but I can't see it from where I am."
"I'm just glad everyone's alright, hopefully more of our battles are like this one rather than the encounter we had before. Stephanie thinks as she looks at the various warriors in her group I don't think I'd imagine being here in even my most vivid nightmares, what a strange way the world has turned. I wonder what father and mother would say if they could see me.
Stephanie is taken out of her thoughts with a jostle from her companion Whiskey barrel who looks to her with concern.
"Are you alright Mistress? you've been cleaning the same spot on the wall for a little while."
Stephanie absently chances the target of her spell and nods
"No I'm alright, I was just thinking about what father and mother would think of all this. It's strange really th..."
And all witness a strange event as Stephanie blinks, once, twice and her right eye twitches. Brain restarted she looks again at the oddity in front of her
"What?"
The Gnome states, a mix of confusion and disbelief as she looks her companion over.
"What do you mean? I thought you just finally decided to learn Owl so you could have a useful language to go along with all those boring tongues you use to read books that are large enough to crush you.
the owl hoots and Stephanie laughs.
"How surreal, all that talk of illusions and traditional goblin magic must have flavored my thoughts. After all, familiars can't do that until their masters have gained quite a stock of power."
Looking to her group she sighs.
"Windel, Halister, do you know if skeletons are hallucinogenic? Whiskey barrel is talking."
The owl in question puffs its chest in irritation looking at the Gnome.
"Mistress you are very dumb sometimes, why couldn't you be an owl then you'd be smarter. Not as smart as me but everyone needs to start somewhere."
To all others Whiskey's speech is hooting. the "Speak with Master" Familiar ability just came online.

Windel Warhaven |

"Don't know 'bout skeleton ash being hallucinogenic...but too much Whiskey from a barrel sure can be." He chuckles. "Whiskey Barrel..git it." The dwarf belly laughs.

"I wouldn't worry too much Stephanie, I incinerated the necromantic magic holding them together. Fire is the great cleanser of things."
I can burn all of this away.
He started to walk past the stairs to where the skeletons came out from. Then stopped as Stephanie began to laugh.
He half turned and eyed her and the hooting Owl, a moment of concern shot over his face. Oh no, Stephanie you can't be...
K. Arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Then he recalled hearing about Wizards and their Familiars from one of the members of the order of Mafolin, and he sighed in relief.
"I don't think you're hallucinating. I've heard of cases like these before. Only the master can speak to their Familiar or hear their Familiar speak."

Miagnik |

With that, Miagnik walks over into the room where the skeletons had been and begins examining it.

"I found a hidden door. Should we check it out?"

Hallister Silverspike |

"We get sent t' rescue a princess an' when we bring her back she's gonna be talking to birds." Hal says rubbing temples with a sigh. "We're all gonna end up in the dungeons."

Maelodakh Listener |

Mae skips suddenly as a halberd spins, then grins at Miagnik's discovery, all thoughts of her opprobrium at his earlier familiarity forgotten.
"Let's check it. For traps. Then get the shinies. There will be shinies right?"" The aggressive little royal holds her head to one side half authoritatively and half quizzically to emphasize her request.

Whiskey barrel, a mostly uniform owl of various browns looks at windel and huffs. The motion puffs his feathers out and grey bands appear on his torso while his increased volume of feathers make him look squatter and rounder. Almost like a liquor barrel with wings.
I imagine him somewhat like this.[ooc] coloration is a bit different though
"I think the fat hairy human is laughing at me Mistress. Can I poop on him?"
Stephanie looks to windel then back to Whiskey "No don't do that Whiskey that would be mean and you'd make a mess for me to clean up. Also windel is a dwarf. Just... yes. Go and follow Miagnik and investigate the hidden door he was talking about." Lacking much in the way of facial expression the owl can't exactly give a sour look as it flies off but its the thought that counts in such things.
Fine. I'll go follow the one who smells of burned things. Perhaps he has bacon.
With her distraction at least removed for a few moments Stephanie goes to address the rest of what was said.
"I knew mages could grant such powers to their familiars with enough time but I never expected I would be able to generate such so quickly. The master who taught me the basics said his took nearly three decades to gain enough power for that to happen. I just figured I was hallucinating rather than having gained a concerning amount of mystic strength in such a short amount of time. "
Frowning at the halberd making more mess the mage goes about moving the remaining mess to one corner of the corridor.
"You know I'm not actually royalty right Hallister? I.. I just act like what I've learned royals ought to. Maelodakh is the one in the position to inherit. I wouldn't worry about it though, I've occasionally talked to animals before. Something about my blood makes magic like that occur naturally on occasion. So no trips to the dungeons on my count please."
Stephanie states, shame on her face at the thought that she fooled Hallister.
"Mistress there is a rock over here, it tastes like salt. It is delicious. There is no bacon I can see though.
Stephanie frowns before putting a hand to her face and sighing.
" What a wondrous power, I now know that my owl licks random rocks and has a fascination with bacon. Perhaps next I shall uncover the power to speak with left handed lizards or conjure tutu clad groundhogs."

Rownig Fleetfoot |

Rownig enjoys the wash of healing energies and when his wounds have knitted up, he moves over to the hidden door Miagnik has found. He examines it for traps but relays, "I found a loose step in the hallway but I didn't have time to check it out in detail."
perception, traps: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 2 = 27

Miagnik |

Heading into the not so secret doorway, Miagnik pushed it open more and moved through.

Maelodakh Listener |

Mae listens attentively to her sis...half-sister. She nods when Stephanie proclaims her lack of royalty, and nods more vigorously when she herself is posited as the inheritor of royal...ness. She smiles at Stephanie's frustrated sigh.
"Once stripped of the unnecessary "tutu", those groundhogs might make scrumptious. So by all means sister. Bring forth dinner." Mae waves her hands in what she expects all to understand as appropriately arcane gesticulations.

Most everyone on this island knows money is scarce, typically goods are traded, occasionally copper coins are used, silver coins become the mark of wealth, and gold, well, gold is horded, or so people say, by the knights, or the very wealthy.
The chest is filled with coins. Thousands upon thousands of coins. At first glance it is obvious that it is mostly copper coins, but there are many silver and gold coins as well.
Lying on the top of the coins is a purple, cloth sack about the size of a small coin purse. The small sack has something in it, you can tell by the bumps.
