Rika nods in understanding at his Celestial-bound companion, and silently thanks the kami of old for their inspiration to learn Celestial from that musty old book. Taking a page from Mariel's playbook, she casts a couple of beneficial spells, calling on her powers to make her blade deadlier and her skin akin to wood. Pratts slinks towards his master cautiously, hissing at the crowd, the the arena and Rika.

The hunter replies with a reptilian hiss of her own, before turning her attention to the three tengu in the arena. She bows in turn, before spinning her blade in her hand and moving up to the opponent closest to the opposing entrance.

Rika attacks the first bird to attempt to strike her.

Mariel finds that she's once again slow to react to the new combatants, and it thoroughly out of position. Towering high above the others, she moves closer with her now-lumbering gait, leaving both of the Tengu within reach of her enlarged sword.

Jillia shakes her head, breaking herself out of reverie as all of her friends engage the opposition before she can come up with something witty that rhymes with 'tengu.'

She closes the distance between herself and the downed foe and stows her shortsword, as a sign of intent of noncombatantship, for the time being, t least.

Pratts, indifferent to the tengu's words, readies himself to pounce onto the surrendering opponent. But Rika steps in quickly, threatening to punch the insubordinate lizard should he try anything foolish.

Mariel surveys the battlefield, thoroughly confused. Valjoen is shouting something, Rika is trying to heal one of their enemies while a second does nothing, and the third is pounding on poor Mido. She tries to ask what's going on, but in her confusion only Auran leaves her mouth. After a string of grumbled chirps, she settles on keeping a close eye on the Tengu in yellow. If we doesn't stop hitting Mido immediately, I'll show him!

He shoots a rocket-tipped arrow from a large bow over the party, where it explodes into the shape of a fiery red phoenix. As the firework fades, ash rains down harmlessly on the Pathfinders below.

Both Master Mido and his Hellknight companion believe Kiang Zhen to be a ventriloquist, and Raining Death to be nothing more than an enormous silk-on-bamboo kite, being manipulated by the Oni Exemplar with fishing line from the VIP box.

Mariel is satisfied with her strike at the green-clothed Tengu, and accepts his surrender with a bow of her head and a flourish of her longsword. She then tends to her wounded companions, seeing that Valjoen doesn't have the best of luck with his healing wand. The exotically garbed giant with its eyes afire is not actually a fighting kite.

It is a very real ogre mage. (You may ask one question about it).

@Jillia, The flying ogre is currently 25’ up. I have indicated this in blue on the Battle Map.

Mariel heals Valjoen in the battle’s lull. The man himself calls out a threat, but the monster is not in range to hear it clearly. (Demoralize has a 30' range)

Similarly, the Ulfen’s snowball just hits Raining Death (assuming CL 4?), though the ogre’s body seems to be repairing the damage done.

Raining Death then flies closer and *casts* a spell which causes Mido alone to *yawn*

Jillia gets a running start and takes three or four steps towards the flying demon and making a leap at it before realizing just how far off the ground it is. She comes to rest just underneath it, shouting up,"Why not come down here so that I don't have to throw my weaponry at you?" Jillia asks the flying...thing with a saccharine-sweet smile. She punctuates he request with a dagger to the softest part of its underside.

Mariel speaks out in Celestial, warning her companions about the flying threat. She then prays to Iomedae as she weaves her magic. From her sword flies a bright spark at the flying creature, and it explodes in a radiant burst of light.

Celestial:
”Watch out, it's an ogre mage. You need a special kind of weapons, I think…”

Rika sighs as the esteemed Master Mido falls asleep. Adjusting her position, she prods him none too gently awake as she sheathes her sword and draws her Tien steppe shortbow. Pratts lurks nearby, looking from Mido to the flying creature to Rika.

Full defense for Pratts, a move to sheathe her sword and using part of that move to draw her composite shortbow, and a standard to wake Mido up in a manner that is most befitting.
