Rika Fumeyo-no-Oni
|
Rika calls upon the Aspect of the Falcon to aid her search. Pushing and shoving her opponents aside, the Tien tiefling does not trust her sword drawn interlocutors, and draws her sword as well. "Do not try I" she states with a vicious snarl.
Perception (Rika): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
Picking up a ruby, she snarls at Pratts and flashes the gem before returning both of her rather large hands to the hilt of her sword.
Pratts cocks his head sideways, unsure of what to do in the presence of so much prey.
Perception (Pratts): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
With ample movement all around, Pratts is unable to separate brusque movements from the shine of rubies.
Jillia Tennille
|
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Try as she might, the sheer density of people obstruct Jillia from finding any of the chase gems.
Traffic is worse here than the Gods' Market on Fireday, Jillia thinks, trying to remain untrampled.
Manius Pindeloric

Seeing rubies get tosses into the air Manius lift up a hand trying to catch one before it hits the floor.
Reflex save because I have combat reflexes: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
...as it slips past his grasp Manius looks around to see if he can find where it landed
Free Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
I think we have a normal round of action..so I can use my move to look again and then have a standard left over to grab it, or if I still don't spot one..use my standard to look again?
Valjoen
|
Amid the mass of confusion, the scaled Ulfen bends a knee and looks upon the ground about him.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Spotting a ruby, he pockets the jewel before standing back up and scowling at the riffraff scurrying about the tavern.
Manius Pindeloric
|
Getting tosses around by all sort of people milling around Manius looses sight of the rubies, but being stuborn he just keeps trying.
Seeing one ruby, but notices that someone he knows picks it up already Manius decides to do what he does best and moves into a protective stance near his companion.
"We work together to get this one out?"
Mariel Aldalinde
|
Mariel gulps at hearing the announcement, and the explicit warning that the tournament might takes lives. "Yikes, Wembley. Things might get pretty serious, indeed."
Then, before she realizes, rubies are flying everywhere. She's about to wish the others good luck, but finds that her speech is garbled into nothing more than whistling and shrieks.
When she realizes that her speech is impeded, Mariel's face changes into a thundercloud for a moment, and she utters a heartfelt curse (in Auran) at the spirit responsible. Then, a ruby lands right in front of her. She snatches it up and stands from her chair, looking around for more rubies and trying to decide whether things could turn nasty. Rika's is ready for violence it seems. That's not really a suprise, I suppose.

Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

Rika’s familiarity with the law of the jungle allows her to gather and keep a gem (at least for the moment).
Jillia and Manius have less luck.
Good things come in small packages as a quick-thinking Mido snatches a ruby from the floor, before disappearing under a table.
♢ ♢ ♢ ♢
“Good luck, Mariel!” Wembley calls.
Auran …
Hmph! Wembley thinks. The least she could have done was offer me the same!
The half-elf also collects a ruby – but it’s a double-edged sword for her.
A professional griefer moves in quickly, as if waiting for Mariel to claim her prize. The thief advocates her claim on the Iomedaen’s ruby at the point of two short blades. “I’ll take that, Sweetpea.”

Mariel Aldalinde

Round #2
--
Looking wronged, Mariel tries to serve the griefer to a witty reply. However, all that leaves her throat is another series of chirps and whistles.
Disgruntled by her inability to express herself, she steps back and casts a spell with the intent to disable the thief, Auran chirps and Celestial words mashing together to form the vocal components of the spell. For good measure, she draws her longsword as well. She spots another ruby nearby and points it out to her companions. With a visible effort of will, she speaks in Celestial. "Illic. Illic!"

5 foot step back, then casting Hold Person on the woman with the goggles. Will save DC 16 or paralyzed.

Valjoen takes a small step to the southwest, and drawing his bastard sword, he slashes at the man in the light blue turbin. "Fool! The decision to attack me was the last you shall make!"

Demoralize: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (7) + 20 = 27
Rika Fumeyo-no-Oni

Rika casts a spell upon herself.
With the spell complete, she moves with added speed, snarling before speaking in Celestial for Mariel's benefit: "నేను ముక్కలు ఆ అవివేకిని కోసే ఉంటుంది!"
"Pratts!杀了她" she adds, pointing at Mariel's opponent.
Pratts immediately screeches as he goes for the kill on that woman.

Jillia Tennille
|
Jillia has no eye for rubies, but certainly sees a pair of scumbags doubleteaming one of her friends.
All bets are off.
Jillia quick-steps towards the young punk in the green garb, drawing a shortsword and looking to run right over the top of him.
Overrun Attempt: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
If sucessful, I would like to end in the space directly left of Valijoen. If that beats it's CMD by 5 (doubtful), he gets knocked prone.
"Why don't you pick on someone my own size?" Jillia goads.
Manius Pindeloric

I'm having some trouble on the map with finding who's attacking us, so I'm not entirely sure where/how to move..I'm trying to attack the same target as Valjoen and moving into flank if at all possible

Will DC 16: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Mariel attempts to paralyze the Professional, but the goggled thug *shrugs* off the effects.
Rika turns Pratts loose on the red rogue, while moving to block the agent from attacking his companion. The dino lands one painful bite on the Agent's shin.
Both Rika and Mariel spot another ruby, but cannot pick them up before other parties seize them! (Will need new Perception checks next round)
"Just let me take a gem and I'll be on my way." Red pleads, stabbing out at Pratts in frustration before 5' stepping away.

Nefti is stronger than he looks, as Jillia bounces off the youth instead of blowing right through his position. Her feat-at-arms (or legs?) prevents the green rogue from making an opportunistic attack during the failed maneuver.
However, once he recovers his wits, the halfling right in front of him makes an ideal target for the Aspis' blades.

Nefti then takes a 5' step into the corner of the tap room.
Valjoen retaliates against Kafar’s strike, and with the Hellknight closing in, the Dragon Disciple’s opponent appears quite shaken.
Not fully aware of all that is going on, Manius goes with his gut … er … falchion, entering the pages of Pathfinder Folklore as the agent who lopped the head off the Aspis rogue Kafar. (Blue is dead-dead)
Mido stays where he is for now.

If only Kafar stayed that way. Cheating scumbag
Rika moves on in with Pratts to mete out retribution, as Pratts, following instructions drilled in by months of beatings, five foot steps to provide a flank.

Contestants continue grabbing, shoving and scuttling through a mess of boots, chairs and bodies, looking for the scattered gems. In one corner, a tipsy blonde cleric of Cayden holds up two gems, grinning “I got mine! What are the rest of you doing?” before half the room converges on him. “Uh-oh …”
Pratts’ claws and teeth find purchase on the Professional’s abdomen, ripping and tearing her lower gut from her body. An indifferent Rika scalps the thug high on her head. The hunter’s blade shearing through goggles, eyes, bone and brain in a horizontal arc through the back of her head.
Red’s down
Your attack still hits though.
A fired-up Valjoen almost takes Nefti’s arm off in his rage. The remaining Aspis thug slumps in the corner but remains in the fight.

Mariel looks a bit of of her depth in the pandemonium of ruby-grabbing hopefuls and outright thugs. She's about to snatch another ruby when someone interferes. She spares a thankful smile for Rika, who apparantly still understands her.

In the short time after the three Aspis are dealt with, Mariel moves closer to her companions. She tries to look where Rika spotted another ruby, but doesn't see it. "మేము ఉత్తమ రక్షణ కోసం కలిసి కర్ర ఇష్టం ఉన్నట్లు కనిపిస్తోంది." I'll be ready for battle, if more people try to interfere.

Mariel doesn't have eyes for the rubies anymore, with her friends in mortal danger. She pushes through the crowd to the assassin closest to her, the one throwing darts. Mariel looks around for more rubies, but comes up empty as well. She looks indignant at Rika's suggestion that she needs a bodyguard. ""నేను నాకు కాపలా ఎవరైనా అవసరం లేదు! నేను నాకు చిన్నప్పటి Iomedae మరియు ఆత్మలు కలిగి." We all seek material wealth and glory. Those who would seek to take the life of others in such pursuits are oftentimes considered evil while those who act in self defense are seen as legitly applying violence.
