Are folio re-rolls a thing in PbP PFS (I'm still new to this)? Because if so, I'm gonna want to have it ready. Here is a link to my folio and my PFS ID card.

Absolutely a thing, though most GM's (Such as myself) kinda just presume your telling the truth that you have a folio and roll with it. One of those "Hurting nobody but yourself if your lying" things.

![]() |

I'm pretty bad at puzzles like this one but it occurs to me that several of you already know the details of this due to having previously played or GM-ed it. So which of us are the ones who are new to the scenario (and hence need to figure out puzzles and the like)?

GM_Starson |

Since Rognak knows Thassilon, he can tell that each rune is for each rune-lord, with Sloth's being nice and prominent. The disks do not seem to be removable.

![]() |

Never played/ran this one so no clue. Just because Rognak has a 28 int, it does not gift the player with the same. I was thinking that there were disks or such made of Abysium that we have to take with us in order to gain access. If that was the case, I was hoping that I could mage hand it and stick it in my Handy Haversack when it was not needed in order to avoid the 1d4 hours of sickness.

With my spellcraft, would I know for certain that Ghoul touch will work?
[PFS Legal] Ghoul Touch
Source PRPG Core Rulebook pg. 289 (Amazon)
School necromancy [poison]; Level arcanist 2, bloodrager 2, sorcerer/wizard 2, spiritualist 2
Casting
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M (cloth from a ghoul or earth from a ghoul's lair)
Effect
Range touch
Target living humanoid touched
Duration 1d6+2 rounds
Saving Throw Fortitude negates; Spell Resistance yes
Description
Imbuing you with negative energy, this spell allows you to paralyze a single living humanoid for the duration of the spell with a successful melee touch attack.
A paralyzed subject exudes a carrion stench that causes all living creatures (except you) in a 10-foot-radius spread to become sickened (Fortitude negates). A neutralize poison spell removes the effect from a sickened creature, and creatures immune to poison are unaffected by the stench. This is a poison effect.
Just double checking before I have to ask Yazdan to borrow his book to memorize it.

GM_Starson |

Ghoul touch in this case would not work on the life ruins, because while it uses negative energy, it doesn't do any damage or reduce any levels. It would have worked on the Rune of Alacrity, but you fried that with your ice deal.

GM_Starson |

Dealing with all the runes (As well as casting to remove them, ect.) would have absolutely taken longer than your invisibility to still be up. You'll need to recast it if you want it.

@GM I have an item from Bonekeep 3 that lets me add the advanced simple template to undead I create so I'd like to use that on Pippa. If you'd like me to help stat out the creature, I've done it a lot before.
It's an extra busy day at work and I have local game shop PFS this evening. Assuming everyone is ready, I'll finalize buffs and have Pippa open the door when I get home later tonight.

GM_Starson |

That'd be helpful, though I will remind that the skeleton will be large, so it'll have to squeeze to get through the door. Same with Griff and if anyone feels like enlarging themselves.
Since Your skelly looses most everything, the big notes are that it has 17 HD, and stats before skellification where Str 20, Dex 23, Con 26, Int 31, Wis 20, Cha 25

Got her all statted except I just need to know what were her melee attacks?

GM_Starson |

2 slams +16 (1d6+5), tail slap
+11 (1d8+2 plus grab)

GM_Starson |

Griff has the Narrow Frame feat
Also, notably, while that does mean they don't take penalties to AC or attack, they do move at half speed while squeezing, just something to keep in mind.

Griff Griffon wrote:Griff has the Narrow Frame featAlso, notably, while that does mean they don't take penalties to AC or attack, they do move at half speed while squeezing, just something to keep in mind.
Yep, which also means no charging, alas. Damn doors!

![]() |

Oh, this is great. Pippa has her own page now!
Can I ask, "Why Pippa?"
Don't get me wrong -- I love the name. Just wondering why you chose it.

![]() |

Yazdan smiles and shrugs. I just enjoy the juxtaposition of an undead monstrosity with a cute name.

GM_Starson |

Super tight squeeze, but I'll say you can read it from there.

![]() |

Let me make sure that I understand the door correctly. Is it A, B or C?
A:The door looks like the one up front. We need to disable the rune to enter it. (If so I can try summoning another giant centipede and hope that works. And one other option)
B: The door is a silent image and not real.
or
C:The door is real and the corridor is fake.

GM_Starson |

B is the truth of the matter. The caster attempted to make it look like A was reality, but Nancy got fresh and had Pippa try to knock down the door instead of you guys wasting your time trying to figure out the "Riddle".

Hey all, I was busy with family stuff Tuesday and yesterday. I'll get caught back up this afternoon or evening!

![]() |

@Rognak, click your token, then go to Format Options..., Adjustments, Transparency

![]() |

@Boss,
Eadie’s falchion is covered in an oil of bless weapon which auto-confirms crits versus evil personages.
Assuming she’s evil, that would mean the AoO on Dear Lashmistress would have been attack + haste + heroism: 6 + 20 + 1 + 2 = 29
If you buy that, would the Lashmistress take an additional 26 damage before the cure spell?

![]() |

Yeah, but the dice roller would have used the 6 as the next number in order if the crit wasn't rolled.
*head explodes* I get that this is all kinda ifs and buts. I'll wait for the GM.
Maybe a 27 (with a nat 4) hit her anyway, with haste + heroism included?
PS, Thanks for the heals!

GM_Starson |

Yes on all of the above. :)
As for Eadie... Hmm.... I forgot about the Heroism and Haste in my calc. While I won't let you use the other die roll of 6, I will say that the 27 hits so it doesn't matter all that much.

Ooga took the 20 at the beginning of her turn, after which she channeled. That would heal the 20 she took and, due to sun blessed a trait, she overheals herself by a max of her lvl (10). Thus she ends with full hp plus 10 temp HP.
On another (proud) note:
Ooga: Last round
175 heals (between 5 targets)
137 was received
P.S. Remember that I can only heal you if you are within 30ft (Beyond the 5 from lifelink [wich has a 100ft range]). If you run/teleport far away from the group, I will not chase you.

GM_Starson |

Oh, right, she heals herself with channel. I'll fix the combat tracker. Also, that is an impressive amount of healing.

![]() |

Just a heads-up to everyone: I'm leaving Sunday (July 8) on an Alaskan cruise for a week. I'm hoping there'll be wifi or at least phone service so I can check in. I'll do my best to find time once a day. Before I leave though I'll type up suggestions for botting.

![]() |

Did you see what I did to the naga? That's what I intend to do to Krune.
Yazdan has 2 Heightened Persistent Lipstitch spells (5th level) prepared for Krune, along with 3 more Heightened Lipstitch (3rd level) to use along with a lesser rod of Persistent Spell (all DC 21 FORT). Yazdan can also spontaneously turn any of his prepared spells into a Glitterdust, with any combination of Heighten Spell/Persistent Spell, along with a trait to reduce the metamagic cost by 1 level.
Yazdan will use a folio reroll (including +5 GM stars) if he rolls below 11 on a saving throw.
Yazdan's prepared spells (and stat block) are current on his character page (including spells already cast).
Without being TOO reckless (I don't want her to die!), Nancy will try to get Ill Omen off on any target Yazdan is casting a save-or-suck spell on. She's got a scroll of Displacement to use on a frontline party member if it seems prudent. Her scroll of Silence might be good to cast on Pippa or Eadie if either has a chance to get in Krune's face and are also 20+ feet from any Pathfinder casters. She can use her scroll of Unliving Rage on Pippa if she has nothing better to do. She has First Aid Gloves with 5/10 charges (enough for one Breath of Life). She has constant Detect Evil, Detect Magic, and Freedom of Movement. She has DR5/evil, resists cold and fire (10) and is immune to electricity and petrification. She has improved evasion and truespeech.
Nancy's stat block, including scrolls and wands, is current on her character page.
Pippa is an expendable basic beat stick. Her unbuffed stat block is current on her character page.

I just realized something regarding Hide in Plain Sight: Yazdan and Nancy both have ioun torches with Heightened Continual Flame orbiting their heads, which shed light as a torch.
...shedding normal light in a 20-foot radius and increasing the light level by one step for an additional 20 feet beyond that area (darkness becomes dim light and dim light becomes normal light)
Tan light from an unseen source filters through the dome, faintly illuminating the area.
...As long as she is within 10 feet of an area of dim light, a shadowdancer can hide herself from view in the open without anything to actually hide behind.
If I'm reading all this correctly, the normal illumination level in this room is dim. The Continual Flames effectively increase the level to normal in a 40 foot radius from both Yazdan and Nancy. Which would mean Agarik and Jorgas are not within 10 feet of an area of dim light, and therefore could not Hide In Plain Sight.

GM_Starson |

Hah! Nice! I have a shadow dancer, and continual flames are my bane cause they're juuuuust far enough that it ruins melee builds for them... hence why i snipe, to bad the twins weren't built with that in mind. Great catch!

![]() |

You've got a lot of numbers to deal with, but according to what I read from the attacks on Ooga, it adds up to 126 dmg. With a -5 from the temp hp, that makes 121 dmg. Is that correct?
Also, Life Link isn't for the faint of heart....or body

GM_Starson |

Oogachuka- For lack of a better way of putting it, I leave tracking temp HP and things like that to players and just do a running total damage. To many things cause temp HP to fluctuate for me to track properly.

GM_Starson |

Alright guys, this is it, so I'm gonna be upfront.
Every good GM knows that the dirtiest secret in GMing is that we're secretly on the player's side. We want you to struggle, suffer, and fight your way into great and epic stories. To that end, any GM worth his salt will sometimes make decisions that are not the best for the bad guys so that people can survive, even if just barely, so those epic stories can happen. Not fudge rolls (In my case at least) but maybe a baddy stops to make sure a dead body is actually dead, or a minion attacks the stronger foe to give the weaker ones time to heal.
I'm turning off that safety valve. I'm gonna pull out every stop, every dirty and underhanded trick I can think of. I'm gonna step into Krune's shoes, and while I will, of course follow the rules, my aim is to kill each and every last one of you and incinerate your bodies.
I still, perhaps not so secretly, want you to beat me. But I've heard of to many people (Myself included) who felt like they where robbed of the full experience of this mission because the GM did not use Krune to the fullest, most powerful extent they can.
I guess what I'm saying is, sorry in advance, it's been a pleasure playing with you. GM Starson is stepping out... and Krune is stepping in.
