Vasilli, a fort sae from you please to avoid Sewer Infection. You actually went into the seweage?
Vasilli Grigorev |
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Vasilli spits out thick brown water, spluttering as he drags his once pristine sleeves across his mouth. "I... I do not veel zo good."
Tsafento |
Anyone got the Prestidigitation to keep Vasilli from being (as) whiffy?! :o
Teloish the Sly |
Thank you Hervey. Going to need to use your charges since this is his first adventure. CLW wand is the first thing I get with my first 2 PP. 2 charges used.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
nightdeath |
Vasillis strong consitution wards off whatever was in the water. Ewww
Travel in the sewers seems awfully quiet but expected given the recent loud explosion.
The party soon reach another intersection where a minor sewer line flows into the main line from the south. Graffiti covers much of the walls here, most of it simple drawings. Prominent among them is a large stylized drawing of a wyvern in shiny gray paint (signifying that the Steel Wyvern’s claim this territory). Also among them is an image of a skull crawling with bugs and an arrow pointing back to the west (a warning about the dangerous insects at the previous junction), and a representation of a beggar’s bowl holding a coin and a key with an arrow pointing to the south. Underneath the picture of the bowl is the word “Almsman.”
Following the sign, the party soon notices ahead a faint light that glimmers in the dark. Slowly it resolves into a crude lantern held by a toothless old beggar who holds a chair leg in his other hand. Beside him stands a scrawny youth, similarly armed but obviously terrified. Behind the two derelicts is an open door bearing the symbol of the beggar’s bowl, coin, and key.
“If yer intentions be peaceful, Abadar makes you welcome.” he eyes you warily as he speaks.
Jomal |
Jomal greets the man, then finally speaks.
This disciple of the Master of Masters thanks your hospitality. We are the Pathfinder Society. - he completes, not extending much.
Hervey Simpkin |
You are welcome Teloish!
Hervey smiles at the lad and replies, "We are indeed peaceful. As my reptilian friend mentioned, we are Pathfinders and as such we seek only knowledge of the past."
diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
nightdeath |
"We bid you welcome and our humble abode lies beyond these doors." the older man stiffly returns the bow, both their relief is palpable.
Beyond the door, a short flight of steps leads up into what appears to be the basement crypt of a church of Abadar. Perhaps two dozen beggars huddle among sarcophagi, some sleeping, some haggling over bits of junk or scraps of food laid out on blankets.
A tall man in clean robes wearing a plain copper mask walks among them. Turning to all of you coolly and says, “If you respect this sanctuary, I offer you what sanctuary I can. Otherwise, begone!”
Tsafento |
Tsafento bows low to the (surly) masked man in robes.
"سلامونه!"
diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 (phew!)
"We have the utmost respect for this sanctuary!"
"Some of my friends are somewhat … on edge"
"We were set upon some bandits on the way to find you."
"We are seeking information on a lost portal."
"We were told you know of such a thing."
nightdeath |
Holding up a hand to forestall any further questions.
"I have but defenceless beggers here with the steel Wyverns due to visit in 2 hours. I may know of such a portal but I'll require your aid in driving these bandits off."
Teloish the Sly |
Teloish smiled "It would be my pleasure to help you with the bandits." he said, finding a place to take up guard duty.
Not sure if the stairs go up but if they do, stand at the end so I can get them as they climb.
nightdeath |
The almsman is grateful but not that you can tell by his mask, he chuckles as he looks at Vasilli.
"Perhaps we should get you into some dry robes. They're not much but at least better then what you have now."
I have placed your avatars in the chambers. Feel free to rearrange yourself. Once done i'll bring in your guests.
Skerdo Cabeza de Vaca |
Skerdo spends the time remaining close to his fellow Pathfinders, though he'll speak amicably with any of the Abadarites who approach him. When the Steel Wyverns are due, though, he positions himself so that he has a clear line in which to charge the first one inside, if necessary.
Vasilli Grigorev |
"A change would be most welcome, thank you. Very kind."
Vasilli tries to find somewhere inconspicuous to change, before taking up position with his companions.
Hervey Simpkin |
Hervey taps himself with a wand then hunkers down near the entrance, his lash out and ready to strike.
I am using my wand of protection from evil when they come near. I will ready an attack too.
lash: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
nightdeath |
As the party prepares themselves and get into position, it takes some time to wait but soon, you hear voices coming from outside the door as it's thrown wide open and you see a bunch of thugs.
"Time for you know what and where it goes!!!"
Skerdo Cabeza de Vaca |
Skerdo won't interfere if the others launch attacks (in a surprise round), but he barks out, "Steel Wyverns! You're going to want to stand down and leave this place be, or things are going to get really unpleasant for you!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
If the Wyverns appear to do anything other than drop their weapons and surrender, Skerdo immediately charges the one he has a route to!
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Charge: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Teloish the Sly |
"Are you ready to explain your misdeeds to your Deity, face to face?" Teloish the Sly said with a smile as he stood ready at the top of the stairs.
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Combat reflexes#1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 171d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Skerdo's Charge takes them all in surprise as he drops the lead in a single brutal slash!
The rest of them are stunned at this unexpected resistance!

Jomal tries to move fast and attack, hoping to catch one of the enemies surprised as well.
